This book is targeted at an audience familiar with the Vampire the Dark Ages roleplaying game. It's an anthology, and although the quality varies, I found it well worth reading, and it gave some interesting views on the various clans and cultures. You can still read it if you don't know the game world, but knowing the clans, special gifts etc definetly adds flavor to the stories. I wish there were more quality books set in the White Wolf world, especially as I rarely play the roleplaying games themselves anymore.
Anthology of Vampire stories based on Vampire: The Dark Ages. While I love the idea, I just couldn't get into these. The first three that I read were fine, but they didn't particularly stick with me. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood.
Okay listen. I've read all the VtM novels. The vast majority are a total waste, a few manageable, maybe one was a good read. You shouldn't expect much out of RPG fiction but Dark Tyrants is an exception. This might be the ONLY White Wolf novel I'd actually recommend. Not sure how it came together like this but these are actually enjoyable stories. It might be the vibe works better in the general setting or they happene upon good writers for once, but whatever the reasons this was a solid read. Fun dark fantasy.
This was a really fantastic and graphic series of snapshots at not ony Cainite life during the dark ages, but at common life. A fun and dark read. I highly recommend it.
