The Morganville Vampires is a series of young adult urban fantasy/vampire novels. The novels feature Claire Danvers, a student at Texas Prairie University, and her housemates in the vampire-controlled city of Morganville, Texas. While the mayor of Morganville is human, unbeknownst to most of the population the town is actually run in cooperation with a group of vampires.

Love, love, love this ENTIRE series, all 15 books of them. Love all the characters...I miss them. Hoping if I leave it long enough I will be able to get that brand new feeling and fall in love with them all over again when I re-read them all. ;)

I have read all of the books except #15 which is on hold. I love the series even though I'm far from being a teen. However, once you get past the 9th or 10th book it gets a bit tired as Ms. Caine works to find new plots - and she does manage to do that - inventing an entirely new species that even the Vamps are afraid of. So overall a great series for teens and those who enjoy this genre. The characters are complex and the plots inventive. Some of the romantic scenes are sappy but then the book is for teens so they are appropriately romantic.

Ah, Morganville. Probably one of the best young adult vampire series out there.

Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t perfect. There are many things I disliked about this series, yet when I compare it to other books in this category it ranks rather high. Throughout the series, we have a continuous story and individual book stories to keep you engaged, without things growing repetitive.

If you’re into young adult vampire stories then I suggest you give this series a go.
