Thanks to Wanda's breakdown, all of reality had flipped and the House of Magneto is the clear winner. So what about the losers? Anyone of regular Sapiens, whether or not they had non-mutant powers or not, are on the slide.

Of course, that just means that the inner-city conflicts, between poverty and prejudice, have now got their own new twist. This storyline hearkens back to the late '70s and feels just like a blacksploitation story. It ISN'T the Avengers we usually know. I think of it more like Defenders, if we're going by the Netflix run.

I'll just say it's okay. Some decent art, workmanlike story. I always liked Luke Cage and Misty, but that's about it.

This story has a 70's vibe to it. From the clothes, to the one liners, it's just hip, cat. You dig? The real problem is choosing to read a story about a character I never cared for.

Luke Cage is a Sapien - regular human - with no prospects in life. A jail conviction ends with him accepting to be put through a treatment that gigev him super-strength. Now he is the leader of the human resistance against the House of Magneto.

This was by far my favorite of the House of M tie ins by far, mainly because it features so many of my favorite characters. The Punisher, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, the list goes on.

This is a really more Marvel Knights than Avengers, as this series features the street level heroes and villains. The human heroes form an underground movement against the totalitarian mutants, and the movement keeps growing.

Plenty of twists and turns here, but some of Marvel's coolest characters and villains show up. It may feel a little too familiar for some readers as we have read similar stories, usually with many of the same characters, but I still thought this was well done.

This hasn't been my favorite of the House of M installments I've read thus far, but it was still entertaining. I just couldn't quite get a grasp on the characters and the lack of background made it difficult for me to follow.

I'm realizing that I don't like the volumes that don't follow Wanda, the X-Men, or the characters I already love. This one was a lot of characters I'm not super familiar with or just not into.
Two stars instead of one for the page with Magneto being petty.

This was a surprisingly good read by Christos Gage and Mike Perkins. I had kind of written off the whole alternate reality/ House of M thing, but this mini-series shows how there are many more good stories that can be told.

Listen to some Curtis Mayfield, Four Tops, Isaac Hayes, Bobby Womack while reading this for the complete experience!

Following the House of M main story arc, this 5 part spin-off is set in grimy 1970's New York. Mutants are still the dominant species while humans are the oppressed minority. It tells of Luke Cage's origin story and his efforts to form a group of superheroes (later called The Avengers) to protect human interests with a Mutant squad of the police force, called The Brotherhood, hot on their trail.

The drawings capture the gritty, seedy underbelly of New York in a tumultuous era (I felt like I was part of a blaxploitation movie!) The writing was easy to follow with an action packed storyline. For a newcomer, it nicely introduces characters like Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Moon Knight and others. I particularly liked the Punisher's introduction but with an alternate origin story for him.

An engaging read, lending another dimension to the Marvel Universe. Given that there will be a Netflix series featuring Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and others, I'm really excited to see how this translates to the small screen. If the Daredevil series is anything to go by, fans and non-fans will have more to cheer for!

I've enjoyed all of the House of M stuff, but this one was probably the best that I've read so far. And I really enjoyed that it was written in a way that you didn't need to have read House of M at all.

The story moved along at a very steady pace, and there was pretty decent character development for a super hero comic, something I don't normally expect to see. And I REALLY enjoyed just about all the alternate versions of the characters presented here.

The artwork was a perfect fit too. It added a very gritty new york street life feel.

I think along with the House of M tie-in that had the Hood being part of a resistance group, this is may be my favorite House of M tie-in. In here, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and quite a few others are the Avengers, a part of non-Mutant criminals who fight against oppression. So apparently I like stories about resistance fighters. In any way, this was interesting and I liked it. I wish there had been more interpersonal stuff (I thought it was interesting how different Luke's relationship to Danny was, for example), but overall this was well worth reading.

I recently realized I had actually never read the Avengers tie in for this event. I picked up an inexpensive copy and was not disappointed. Good art work and character development as several of the Avenger characters alternate House of M universe resist the new mutant world order.

Of all the individual House of M stories by team, this was one of the better ones. Some of those other spin offs go old really quick, but this one was good.

Lo recomendo mucho y principalmente para leerlo primero. Es exactamente lo que lleva a House of M y a ver un par de cosillas que en House of M ya están sentadas. Casi que lagrimeo con el finale.
