Matthew is a lost boy who believes no one wants him. When he and his mate Josh cannot claim each other because of their age they decide to keep their relationship secret. But then Josh finds their other mate Milo. The realization that Josh and Milo can claim each other, but Matthew will be left out, only solidifies his self-doubt of ever having anyone to love him. He runs to Montana to search for the only family he ever felt wanted him, but when he gets there he finds that the Montana pack is now being ruled with fear and death. Matthew struggles to help two new friends as he tries to get them back home to safety. In the meantime Josh refuses to let Milo claim him and cool his mating heat. He will die before he lets anyone but Matthew claim him first. Can Matthew make it home in time to save Josh and his mating or will the new alpha in Montana find him before he can get his new family to safety?

3.5 stars!

So I am feeling a bit like Kathy Bates in Misery right now...

description

I feel the need to chain Maggie Walsh up and get her to writing the next book in this series! *lol*

I liked this one slightly less then the others only because there seemed to be so much going on that the mating of Milo, Maddy, and Josh seemed to take a bit of a backseat here. There are SO many characters I can't wait to see get their HEA, Lord Lucifer, Cass, some of the Legion Guards, Evan etc...

I am always amazed when a writer can keep a story moving forward and growing over the course of (so far 11) books, and make each one engaging, and interesting. Maggie Walsh, you have a fan for life in me!

I Love, Love, Love, this series. The Angel Pack has dragged me in from the get-go, and I was totally wracking my brain over how Maggie Walsh would handle Raith’s troubled son, Matthew (Maddy), and his mating “issues” with Josh and Milo. Maddy has been a handful from his introduction into the series, and I was initially feeling so bad for Raith that he ended up with such a hard-ass for a son. But, this story not only redeemed him, but also made me fall in love.

Josh and Maddy were dealt a bad hand in life, and it killed me that after waiting and waiting and waiting to reach the age of maturity, where they could finally claim each other, that they meet their third mate…before Maddy was of age. Which meant that no matter how much he was thrilled to have Milo and Josh as mates, he was also devastated that he and Josh would not be each others firsts. I totally got that. It may seem selfish, but still, I would absolutely feel the same way.

Milo is the only human in this trio, and he is also carrying a load of history that could cripple a weaker man. I was thrilled when his “issues” where finally settled, and not only his mind, but the entire pack’s was put as ease. With Maddy’s return, Milo’s issues put to bed, and Josh going into heat…these three spend a decent amount of the book taking care of each other. Jealousies were handled in the best way possible, and the triad started off their claiming and mating in a more satisfying way than I could imagine.

Maggie Walsh has done this series extreme justice, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for our pack and their paranormal friends next. As usual, if shifters and paranormals are your thing, then I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author.

While I thought the author did a good job of redeeming Matthew’s character, I still didn’t really care much for his mating with Milo and Josh. Like with some of the previous books, the other parts of the story way overshadow the romance and mating. I am enjoying all the parts dealing with the remainder of the pack and the overarching plot of the paranormal war. All in all, an enjoyable book.

Fuck you!
