Ryan Carpenter wants a second chance with the one who got away
That one near miss with Jimmy still haunts Ryan despite a successful college and NFL career. Even after all the years, he still would give anything to find a way to make things work between them, but the spotlight of the NFL has forced him to keep his desires secret.

Jimmy Smith wants the one man who could ruin his career
While interviewing for college head coaching positions is the worst time to consider starting a relationship with a man, even one as gorgeous as Ryan. The players he will want to recruit and their parents will certainly head to other schools if his love of Ryan is exposed.

They risk it all for one night of pleasure that changes their lives
Given the chance to reunite while coaching at a summer camp at their alma matter, sparks fly and toes curl. However, the harsh realities of the morning light intrude on their happiness and makes them second guess everything.

Will both men make the difficult decision to stay apart? Or the even more difficult one... staying together?

We start out with a bit of a back story on Ryan and Jimmy, they were college football teammates that confided in one another about being gay and attracted to the other, but when they tried loose their virginity they were interrupted before they were able to do the deed. Fast forward ten years and Ryan finds himself back at his old stomping grounds helping coach a QB during the summer to get him ready for game day. While Ryan is reflecting on his college days and Jimmy he is told that Jimmy is sick (Cancer). Needless to say that pushes Ryan into contacting Jimmy hoping to reconnect with the one person he had always loved. The fact that they are both virgins because they were scared to do anything with anyone since the one time they tried was great.
We get to witness the real struggles of professional athletes dealing with the fact that they are gay and everything they have to do to keep their personal lives private. I enjoyed this story and I am off to read the next one in the series The Perfect Catch.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we meet Jimmy and Ryan. Jimmy and Ryan meet in college where they are both on the same football team Ryan is the Quarterback and Jimmy is one of the linebackers. One night they both acknowledge that they are in fact gay and want to be together. The problem they have though is they want to be together without anyone knowing. That night Ryan's roommate comes home unexpectedly and nearly catch's them so from that point on they see each other strictly as team mates but both longing for more. 10 years later they get their first chance to see each other again. Ryan is an NFL quarterback and Jimmy is a college linebacker coach (well a coach looking for a new job). Where does this leave the guys right back where they were in college with wanting one another but thinking they need to hide who they really are still. Can they make it work now that they are adults or will the fight to be together at all cost just be to much.

This was one of my first M/M romance books and I must say this author is amazing. This story isn't about gender it is about the love story between these two men and what they will do to either be together or let others dictate how they will live their lives. I liked how they author shows how each of the characters is feeling and why they make the choices they do. I would recommend it you will not be sorry.

Enjoyable read about two football players who are attracted to each other but never get to see where it will lead...or will they?
Ryan is the quarterback for the college team. He and a few of the guys from the team are out at a bar. Jimmy, who Ryan is attracted to started talking to Ryan and he is surprised when Jimmy shares his feeling for Ryan. The two leave the bar and start making out in an alley...but people are walking around & they don't want to get caught. They agree to go back to Ryans dorm. As the two start to get hot and heavy, Ryans roommate returns and collapses into bed drunk. Jimmy leaves before they can get caught.
Fast forward a few years where the two meet up again back at the college to help out with the football team. Ryan as an NFL quarterback & Jimmy who is looking for a coaching position at a small college. Do they both still have feelings for each other? Will the two get the chance to be together again? Or are they both afraid of what will happen if they come out as a couple? Read it to find out.

This is another wonderful book by Zach Jenkins. Jimmy is a college football coach, and Ryan is a NFL quarterback. When they were in college, they almost got together one night, but had been surprised by Ryan's roommate, and then they had decided for both of their careers in football, it was not worth the risk for it to happen again. Now years later, they are both back in Georgia for a summer camp. They are being given a second chance , but will their careers interfere again? I received this book for free in return for an honest review, and I really enjoyed it. It is a beautifully written MM romance.

Years of dreaming of wanting the one that got away. Since college these two hooked up but never even went further then some rubbing but these two fell hard but their fate had plans to keep them apart. Now their chance is here but will fate have a replay of their last time. This story was better then Chance& Manny's story, but their struggles to got public was harder them them since both are involvement of football and in the spot lights.

reading the sample and encountered the dreaded that instead of who. it really bugs me. "It was Coach Peterson that" should be "It was Coach Peterson who!"

still figured I'd try it and it's OK. There were a bunch of times when the wrong name was used. For example, when referring to a secondary character, the MC's name was used. Confusing! My last complaint is that the sex was poorly written. It wasn't hot at all.

Sloppy editing spoils a half decent book

Editing mistakes like the wrong character's name being used really thrown you out of this story.

It's a shame because with a bit of reworking and tightening up the story, it could have been very good.

It's a good almost happened in college, still have feelings ten years later, get another chance story but it did need a good going over to get rid of to much flowery exposition.

This is about how the athletes think about they are perceived in the public. Two college athletes try to get together. It just so happenes that they are both men and both gay. It doesnt work out that night but will it ten years later when they see each other again. Or will it be like back in college all over again. Will they find a way to make things work or let their fear win out.

Wanted to like it more

2.5 stars
I wanted to like this one more than I did.
I'm not quite sure why it didn't work for me, but I just didn't connect with the characters or really understand why they were together.
There were a few editing mistakes that pulled me out the book with wrong names

Thanks for a wonderful story about to NFL players one from the big times and the other now a coach. It reflected on their attempt at sex whilst in college and how they finally came together with all the trials and tribulations in between. I loved how the big tough NFL player cried openly over their relationship attempts and over AJ's acceptance speech.
Well worth the read thanks.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this story, and thought that Ryan and Jimmy were an adorable couple. It's sad the difficulties that they had to face due to other people's issues, but I was really happy to see them get their HEA, which was very cute. This was the first book I've read by this author, but definitely won't be the last.

I received this story for a honest review, this is my second story of reading stories and I been enjoying them immensely, I like how they are based on how professional sports can harm the emotional behaviour of the guys playing, because the have to stay in the closet or they might be kicked out. I love how love can concur most anything.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This was a very nice second chance love story. Interesting perspective on how football players think people view them. Enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and some entertaining characters.

Ok.

The dialogue in this story felt very stilted and unnatural, and while the story itself was quite good (although nothing original) I didn't particularly get any great feeling for the characters.

College try and fail. Two lives holding memories. A quick reunion, followed by separation and finally a solution. Love will find a way.

Short and sweet. Story of enduring love. I enjoyed it but I wished it was longer. The sexy action was hot.
