Summary (from Goodreads):

He may be at a romance readers’ convention, but a naked woman in the elevator is not what horror writer Ryan Wheeler expects. What I Liked:

I was supposed to review this book with my other post going up today, but given that I didn't like this book very much, I wasn't about to skew my rating to fit the tour. I had a good feeling about this book, but it just wasn't for me! The good thing is, unlike the title might insinuate, there is no hint of love triangle (I didn't think there would be). But I was not pleased with this book overall, sadly.

Romance writer Andi Palmer is having terrible luck in Vegas - she gets stuck in a hot elevator in the hotel while trying to make it to her meetings at the romance writers convention. She's trying to change when the elevator starts working again, and in walks someone she knew from when they were kids. Someone who was horrible to her. Ryan Wheeler is at the hotel to chase ghosts (he's a horror writer), and he doesn't expect to find a half-naked woman in the elevator. Sparks fly, but something is off about Andi. They can't deny the attraction between them, but there are too many secrets between them too.

Despite what the title might imply, there is no love triangle in this book. Andi sees Ryan and immediately thinks that he is Nolan (who is his younger brother). Nolan and Andi knew each other in grade school, and Nolan wasn't particularly nice to her. Years later, Andi thinks it is Nolan she is speaking to, and Ryan doesn't realize that Andi thinks he's Nolan (it's not obvious). When he gives her his name, she thinks he's lying and hiding his identity, and that he doesn't recognize her (she used to be overweight and very different - her words, not mine).

There were so many awkward and cute scenes in this book, which were pretty funny, for the most part. There is ONE hot scene, and it's pretty hot (not super hot though). The book is short, so you'll blow through it very quickly. Of course, all three of things things I just mentioned are easily dislikes too. Read on for what did not work for me!

What I Did Not Like:

Possible spoilers. Ahead. Possibly. I'm just going to start typing, so you are warned as of now.

I honestly don't even know where to start. I was really up and down, with Andi. At the very beginning, I liked her fine. And when she crashes into Ryan in the elevator - literally - I was really enjoying the book. But then her crazy and stupid plans for revenge kind of made the story take a nosedive. She basically forces him to do a male model strip thing for the romance convention (he's not a male model, but he's built like one, but that's not the point!), and he's uncomfortable doing it (though it might not seem like it). Are you kidding me?! I realize that she thinks he is Nolan, the boy who humiliated her WHEN THEY WERE CHILDREN, but exactly that - they were CHILDREN. You're telling me you haven't let go of that s*** yet, after nearly over ten years?! Fifteen?!

I felt bad for Ryan during this entire book! Andi became such a brat, and he had to beg and grovel for her attention, and she's over there trying to get "revenge". Poor guy! He eventually figures out who she thinks he is (he calls Nolan and asks), but he doesn't tell her that he knows. The convention is only a week long, and he doesn't want to ruin the chemistry between them. I get that.

But then, at the climax, when Andi finds out that he has known that she thinks he is Nolan, she flips the f**k out. It was so dramatic and exaggerated and I almost lost my d**n mind. SERIOUSLY!? You're going apes**t because he didn't tell you that he knows that you think he is Nolan?! Not at one point did Ryan lie to her - he told her his name is Ryan (it is), and that he isn't who she thinks he is (she kept interrupting him and changing the subject, whenever he tried to bring it up).

And now, when she finds out, SHE's the one that's butthurt. After making him do a male model stripper-esque event (he did NOT sign up for that), making him feel uncomfortable in front of numerous thirsty women, and SHE'S the one hurt?! I just don't get it! He never lied to her or deceived her - she's a complete dumba** for one) holding on to vengeful feelings like that FROM HER CHILDHOOD (let it go, idiot), and two) feeling hurt and betrayed and other dramatic feelings because "you didn't tell me?!". Calm the f**k down.

Ugh. Andi was fine at the beginning and then just became a drama queen. It doesn't help that this book was super short and so all of this drama seemed really condensed and not spread out. We go from the male-model event to sleeping together to going on a date, all within like, twenty-four hours of meeting each other.

And that's another thing. After ONE WEEK, Ryan is popping out the I-love-yous. When Andi finds out the Big Secret about Ryan's identity, she runs away and he goes chasing after her (UGH! Idiot! I HATE it when the man is the one groveling, when the woman is so CLEARLY at fault too!). Why in the world are you going after this air-headed woman!? Someone please explain.

Can we talk about how Andi is a romance writer, we're at a romance convention, and there is only one LOUSY sex scene in this book?! (There might have been one other, but it was extremely short, and totally does not count.) It could be due to the fact that this book is super short, but I was so disappointed by the lack of heat! So, so disappointed.

I'm done. I'm not going to apologize for my blatant dislike of Andi. She kind of ruined the book.

Would I Recommend it:

Absolutely not. I haven't read anything by Fox (although I am curious about her Brazen novels), and I see that this is the twelfth book in a series. So I suppose if you've read part of this series, go for it? Or maybe not. It was pretty bad.

Rating:

1.5 stars -> rounded down to 1 star. I tried! I thought this would be awkward and adorable (it was awkward, and I suppose on the surface, it was adorable), but maybe too fluffy and too dramatic for me. And definitely too short!

Light-hearted and sexy! Betting on the Wrong Brother was a cheeky reader-girl inspired good time!

The quick of it is that Andi is in Vegas for a book convention and low and behold the boy who broke her heart when she was a teen just so happens to be staying at the same hotel, is trapped in the elevator with her aaaaannnd.... doesn't have a clue who she is. Revenge is most definitely in store. Who will get the last laugh, erm, orgasm? That's still up for debate!
"Say yes. Dinner and drinks with me tonight.

Say no. Say no.

"Yes."

Dammit.

Okay so Andi and Ryan. I really enjoyed them. They're both writers (woohoo!) and were good people. There's a little revenge plot going with him MAYBE being entered into a male model competition at the event but they were fun and cute together as she tries (and fails miserably) at holding on to her mad where he's concerned which made things lively as they got to know each other and the past was put in the past. She was sweet (despite her mighty revenge!!!! lol) and a little innocent. Ryan was all swoony hero with a cheeky grin that would do naughty things to a girl.
"Keep it up and I'll bend you over this table and take you right here."

Her lips thinned into a fine line as a tortured noise crawled out of her throat. "You wouldn't," she murmured.

"Try me. This is Vegas. No one would even care."

Her glance went from him, to her brownie, back to him. Christ, was she actually debating it? Okay, time to change the subject.

The sexy was totally there. These two have some scorching chemistry. Like whew boy, yes please! Sign me up for some of that! And then...
"his cocked throbbed so hard inside her, his semen had their laces tied and were pushing off the start line before the gun had even cocked."

Erms. Yeah. That was weird being thrown into a real sexy scene. #ThingsAuthorsSay #DudeThatWasAWeirdOne lol But other than that the heat...noms!

Betting on the Wrong Brother was a quickie but totally satisfying. Humor, fun, some sexy happening and a great backdrop of a readers convention made for one heck of a good time that left me smiling and thinking it's about time to sign up for another book con. lol

Betting on the Wrong Brother by Cathyrn Fox is a light-hearted, quick read perfect for a lazy day.

Romance novelist Andi Palmer is running late for a meeting while at a Romance convention in Vegas when the elevator she is in breaks down. In order to save time, she begins to change from her travel clothes to her business outfit with her publisher when the elevator begins to move and in walks her childhood crush, Nolan Wheeler.

Or so she thinks...

Horror writer Ryan Wheeler is at the same hotel to research the "hauntings" of his hotel room for his next book. He "bumps" into a half-naked Andi in the elevator he is instantly attracted to her, but Ryan has the feeling he has seen her before. Ryan doesn't realize, at first, that Andi thinks he is his younger brother, Nolan. What happens next is a case of revenge (on Andi's part) and trying to learn more about Andi (Ryan's part). But after a week of playing a game, real feelings begin to emerge and Ryan still hasn't told Andi who he really is...

Will Andi forgive Ryan...??

I’ve decided to be honest on this review and I might not be nice about.
It is to put a stop and declare that it is

ENOUGH of the FLUFF. A picture to add to this fact:

For all the reasons that everyone who has read this book. Those are the exact reasons why I didn’t like it. 2.5 awkward stars.

It was funny yes but to the point where I thought it was just too cheesy moments.

There were awkward moments that were funny to a certain degree but all in all they were
just awkward moments

I didn’t count how many times that Andi mentioned that she used to be a podgy young girl and that it was time for her to get some revenge on the wrong brother.

Andi acted as someone that she was not

Good luck Ms. Fox and sorry it didn’t work out for us.

I love this fun read. It was a delightful story from the beginning. A great and memorable opening. Solid character development and not a whole lot of angst and drama which is what I enjoy in a light-hearted romance novel.

Even though this is another what happens in Las Vegas stays in Vegas type of story, the author gave us a unique and entertaining book. The male lead is sweet and really makes an effort to treat a girl right.

This book is fun and sexy and even though it was a quick read, it held my attention throughout

4**** stars for this story

Well, well that was a really funny and enjoyable story with fast plot!! Mostly i liked the big twist plot and the funny, awkward scenes.

Andi Palmer is a romance writer and went in Las Vegas for a Romance writers convention where
will meet Ryan Wheeler but because of some technical problems he will catch her in some really
non wearing any clothes besides my panties and bra and the whole situation will become even
more awkward because "it has really little space for them". Not add that Andi thinks that Ryan
is Nolan the boy who break her heart and some more and now has given her a false identity.
"Yeah really strange this whole situation".

In this comedy, romance theme there are some really hot scenes and great dialogues. The characters are also very likable and you'll love them from page one. Well i don't wanna spoil anything else, it is really worth reading story, so i definitely recommend it and i'll check what else the author has in store for us.

When attending a convention romance writer Andi Palmer is having one of those days that it seems everything that can go wrong will go wrong. Running late for a meeting the elevator decides to quit working so after fifteen minutes of waiting Andi decides to go ahead and change for her meeting to save time. Wouldn't you know the elevator then decides to move and when the door opens in walks who Andi thinks is her teenage crush that broke her heart.

Jack Wheeler is now a horror author and goes by his middle name Ryan. When he bumps into an undressed Andi he is immediately taken by her but doesn't realize she thinks he is his younger brother. Andi vows to get revenge but all of her plans don't go the way she hoped and she soon finds herself caught up by Ryan.

This is one of those incredibly fun romance reads. Light, sexy and a few good laughs made me fly right through this book. Great characters, Ryan just oozes sexiness from his first hip shake and moving like Jagger and Andi was also incredibly likable and someone you wanted to get her happy ending that she normally just writes about. Would definitely recommend checking out this lovely read.

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I had a really good time reading this story. From start to finish, Cathryn Fox had me giggling, had a huge smile on my face and made me want to go to Vegas to see what happens if I stand in the elevator half-naked and someone I think I know walks in.

Andi and Ryan kicked up the fun meter in Betting on the Wrong Brother. Right from the opening scene in the elevator, you knew that there was no way you weren’t going to laugh your way through this story. It was a wonderful change from the same-old, same-old boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, they live happily-ever-after. This was more like, oh, shoot ... now what do I do? Do I play the game? Do we let on that we know? Or, revenge can be sweet, let’s see how this pans out. BACK-FIRE!

You have to remember, this story is about a romance writers convention in Las Vegas. Revenge can come in many different ways. But, what better way than to enter the object of your teen-age desires in a male cover-model contest? Who would have ever thought he’d bring out the big guns for it?
As Andi keeps refusing to think about the past, as Ryan battles with not telling her the truth … things really heat up and they both find that they may not want what happens in Vegas to stay in Vegas. But, how do they both come clean with who they really are and what they really want without hurting each other?

Ryan was wonderful throughout the book. He tried, he really, really tried to tell Andi the truth about who he was. He took an interest in her romance books, even if they were a wee bit vanilla. He showed her the true man that he was … he just didn’t let her in on two little secrets. But, Andi just wanted to live in the moment. She didn’t really care what he had to say about the past. She was looking at this little interlude as research for her books. But, there really is no way to escape the past or to not have your heart engage just a little bit with a handsome, caring man.

Cathryn Fox seriously made this one fun book to read. You can tell by the way it’s written, by the way everything just came together, that she even had a good time writing this story. It was fun, exciting and romantic … it was engaging and interesting. But, most of all, with the romance genre starting to take a turn towards the dark side, repeating storylines and getting monotonous, Cathryn Fox gave us something fresh. A nice break from all the angst and woe is me that is being written constantly.

3.5 Stars – 3 Flames

What a cute and relatively short read. To be honest, I was totally expecting this to be cheesy and flat out eye rolling, but I was pleasantly surprised that the storyline and even the characters didn’t bother me like I thought they would, by reading the blurb.

Andi is a romance writer at a convention in Vegas. She gets stuck in an elevator (why do always think of Aerosmith) and while stuck, decides to make the best of the situation by changing into her next outfit so she isn’t late. Needless to say, the elevator strategically starts moving while changing and the doors open to the one person she’s rather not have seen her: her old high school crush. Yes, this does have a few clichés: fat girl losing weight looking hotter than ever, typical jock who’s an ass, payback, etc. But even with these clichés, I was still able to get into Andi’s character and enjoy her moments.

Ryan finds himself in an interesting situation when he enters an elevator, witnessing a beautiful woman changing her clothes. When the elevator starts to malfunction, he’s literally caught in an intimate situation that only lights a fire that he didn’t know he wanted. While trying to “learn more about Andi”, it becomes clear that she thinks that he is indeed his brother (not giving anything away since it’s part of the title). Does he correct her or go along with her presumption? Let’s just say it makes for an interesting climax…lol.

There are some things that attract me so in a plot. A romance author shacking it up with a horror writer? Uh, yes please, and leave me alone with this for a while. However, I had a few problems with this one. As a sports romance lover, I know not to expect everything sports related in a book, and the same goes for a book with authors. But, I still would’ve loved to read some insight into both Ryan and Andi’s minds. I mean, c’mon, this is a double chance to get to know what goes through the mind of a romance and horror writer. Except for a tiny side plot of a supposedly haunted hotel room and a lot of comparison between Ryan and a romance hero, we didn’t get much the feel of the characters’ profession coming out to play in the plot.

As for Andi and Ryan, I liked the fact that as a romance writer, Andi was a shy person, not impulsive, definitely not the brazen woman she wanted Ryan to believe. I could see there was a lot of potential for Andi, what with her past with Ryan’s brother, and the fact that she had her makeover and now had a chance to get her revenge. Call me whatever, but when a good potential for a multi dimensional character is thrown in only to be swept under the rug so quickly, I feel it’s a shame. I would’ve liked to delve more into Andi’s mind and her struggle against old insecurities.
Ryan was your typical romance hero. I was so taken with him being a horror writer that I couldn’t help but wish we read more about the haunted hotel room he was staying at and the whole mystery behind it. Would that be veering away from the actual plot? Maybe. But how awesome would it have been if we read about the ghost in an epilogue? Okay, yes, I’m getting far off the point here.

A quick read that was on the light side, BETTING ON THE WRONG BROTHER is a nice start to a new series. I do think it would’ve been better if it was longer, that way we could’ve explored more of these characters and their backgrounds, but it was still a fun read.

Now, leave me alone and let me think of all the possibilities of spending a night in a supposedly haunted place with a hunk of a man.

I'm a huge Cathryn Fox fan, especially her In the Line of Duty series, so when I had the opportunity to read her new book, I jumped at the chance.

Betting on the Wrong Brother is about a romance book writer (very fitting) Andrea Palmer, who is attending a Romance Book Writer convention in Las Vegas, and a horror book writer, Ryan Grayson who is also in Las Vegas doing research for a book he wants to write. I think this is one of my new favorites that Cathryn Fox has written. It was hysterical, throughout the book, hot and steamy in just the right parts, and had a lot of character development which is difficult to do when you are reading a story under 200 pages. I loved that she used and dedicated her Foxy Ladies in this book. Anyone who follows her on her Facebook page knows about "Jan", and I think she nailed Jan's personality in this fun, hot, sexy book. I could just see the two of them actually at one of these conventions having the fun and conversations that she wrote about in this book. Absolutely loved it! Nolan definitely sounded like a jerk, but I think he ended up redeeming himself in the end.

Book loaded with a lot of laugh out loud moments and squirming in your seat steamy love scenes. Worth the read!

Betting on the Wrong Brother is a cute, fast paced romance featuring mistaken identity, sizzling chemistry, fate and finding your soulmate.

The third person narrative aids the numerous plot threads stemming from Andi and Ryan's history, although in a completely unexpected way. You see Andi is the same age as Ryan's younger brother and had a HUGE crush on him as a teen only to have him break her heart. Andi was an awkward, frumpy teen resulting in self-esteem issues years later.

A case of mistaken identity and a serious amount of sparks result in Andi and Ryan living out their fantasies for the duration of their time in Vegas. Both have some serious relationship hang-ups due to their life experiences. However, fate/destiny has other plans for Andi and Ryan, they are quite literally perfect together.

There is a small amount of angst but this is quickly overcome by the endearing quality of the characters. The emotional growth of the characters is a fundamental part of the plot and wonderful to follow. Although I would love to know what the future has in store for Andi and Ryan :)

Betting on the Wrong Brother is my first book by Cathryn Roberts, it most certainly won't be my last ;)

'Maybe the good girl just wanted to be bad.’

This book was so much fun. Who doesn’t love a what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas story and mix in some mistaken identify, a one week affair and all things romance author conventions and you get a great way to spend an afternoon.

‘Andi was quickly becoming an addiction’

When romance author Andi runs into a man from her past it is not all smiles and reminiscing. He hurt her and while she can play the part of strangers in Vegas she refuses to forget or fully trust. Ryan has his secrets and is willing to play along but when things get too real he learns that holding back might cost him all that is important.

“I went with it. Not to hurt you, but because you wanted a fantasy and I wanted to give it to you.”

This story was super fast but sweet and fun. Not to be taken too seriously, I loved the whole authors convention and seeing Andi interact with fans and other authors plus her friend Jan was a hoot and a half. Sexy, playful and fun with a dash of drama Betting On The Wrong Brother was a delight.

I was excited to read this one just based on the blurb. I fantasied about meeting me a hot, naked guy in the elevator. I would be assured that elevator ride would not end anytime in the next week. But on to what brought us here. I found this happening in Vegas to be a delight and wanted more. There were 4star Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh going on here. Fun, Sexy, Light Hearted, Quick read.

This year's romance convention was not what one Ryan Wheeler was expecting. He got much more that he could have ever expected a deliciously hot, naked woman in the elevator. But something more was going on. He had a feeling of familiarity. Of course being a man he was in no rush to find that connection. There was a naked woman before him.

This was a pretty easy read, it was light and gave me a few giggles throughout. The premise was good but I felt like the story was rushed in parts especially the ending.

I would have liked to have heard about Andi and Nolan meeting again and how that went. I felt there were a few things that could have been better developed, that and the ending being the main ones.

It's a lighthearted romantic novel. It's a story of a romance writer and a horror writer, both are at romance readers' convention but not for the same reasons. I loved both Ryan and Andi. Book is well-written and story flows smoothly which makes it a quick and fun read. A must read for romance lovers!

So horror writer Ryan has found himself at a romance readers’ convention and he’s found himself face to face with a nearly naked woman in the elevator. Her funny, snarky personality interests him almost as much as her physical attributes do but he doesn’t need the complication a woman would bring him. Plus she seems to dislike him for some reason. Andi Palmer has a stroke of bad luck because she’s caught in an elevator by her teenage crush. Worse, she’s almost completely naked in the elevator but it isn’t just that she’s almost naked in an elevator facing her old crush that makes her angry, it’s the memory of the way he treated her years ago and that he doesn’t remember her now. He even gives her a fake name the cheat! Andi goes from acute embarrassment to angry woman in a heartbeat and decides to extract some revenge on the unsuspecting guy.

This was a pretty cute and entertaining romance. The mistaken identity trope really worked for both characters and their romance. I loved that Cathryn Fox chose to set Ryan and Andi’s romance among the chaos and fun of a romance readers’ convention in Vegas of all places.

Ryan’s a charmer and has a reputation for being a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy but he goes through quite a few changes when he meets Andi. Throughout their time together Ryan’s kind and considerate side comes out as he begins to romance a woman he’s not even aware he’s falling for!

Andi was likable if a bit immature in how she started getting revenge on Ryan. I didn’t begrudge her wanting to get even for what she went through with her crush because it was emotionally scarring for her but what she did felt so childish in the beginning. I did like that she was a romance novelist at a convention, it really did give Betting on the Wrong Brother a different feel. There was definitely some good chemistry between her and Ryan and I liked the buildup of sexual tension.

Overall I liked how quick and uncomplicated this romance was. There was a central conflict but it wasn’t something that couldn’t be resolved in a few short pages. The problem was, the ending felt a little rushed and incomplete. Once Andi and Ryan untangled the secrets and lies that were keeping them apart I expected a real reckoning with Andi and her crush but that didn’t happen. For me it felt like Andi never got the closure she needed to move on with her life.

Final Verdict: A fun way to pass the time, Betting on the Wrong Brother introduced two writers from different genres and gave them a chance to fall in love. It was sweet, cheeky and slightly quirky.

"Tonight would go down in history, because this week, what happened in Vegas definitely wasn't going to stay in Vegas."

Have you ever been at the wrong place at the wrong time? Or rather, been face to face with someone from your past you never thought you would see again?
Well this is what has happened to Andi Palmer.

Andi is a romance novelist and is participating in a week long convention in the lovely city of Las Vegas. When things aren't going as planned, she ends up half naked, stuck in an elevator with a blast from her past. The man who broke her heart into a million pieces....or so she thought...

Ryan Grayson is looking for a week of downtime while scooping out the latest "haunted" places to inspire his newest horror book. He never figured he would be stuck in a small space with a woman he can't seem to stop looking at...or thinking about. Too bad she thinks he's someone else-his brother. Maybe he can keep it a secret for now...maybe.

"You don't know me, do you?"
"No, should I?"
"I guess not."
"Believe me, if I'd met you before now I would have remembered."

This book was such a delight to read!! Not only was it humorous and sexy as sin, it was also a sweet story about letting go of your past and realizing that everything can change suddenly.

I liked Andi and Ryan's chemisry from the start! Being inside Andi's head was a hoot! I found a lot of myself inside her, and that made it even better to read--you can relate to her as a character.

"Maybe the good girl just wanted to be bad."

As I said before, this book was also sexy as sin! Can I like have Ryan talk dirty to me allll the time?! Is that too much to ask?! I mean... lawd that man! Yeah, Andi didn't have a chance at resisting him.

The banter between these two was great. You laughed right along with them as much as you swooned. You rooted for them as a couple, but you also knew that the moment was coming where she had to find out he wasn't who she though he was.

"When had lust turned into so much more?"

I truly enjoyed this story!!!

It was the first book from Cathryn Fox that I have read, and it won't be my last!!! Thanks for writing such an entertaining book!!! :)

"Does this feel wrong?"
"Yes, no...I don't know."
"Is it yes or no, sweetheart?"
"No..."
"So none of this feels wrong, like it's a mistake?"
"No, it doesn't."

Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Bare feet, some naked or disrobed legs. Synopsis sounds like fun.

Looking Deeper:
Third-person POV. She's a romance writer attending a conference, he's a horror writer researching an allegedly haunted room at the hotel they are staying at. He also happens to be the older brother of the boy she had a crush on as a teen, the boy who broke her heart and destroyed her self-confidence. When she mistakes him for his brother, he tries to tell her, but she wants the fantasy of "two strangers meeting".
I really like the Ryan character, but was frustrated by his lack of insistence in telling her the truth. Andi was a harder character to like, for me, because she was driven by payback and revenge, while pretending to be something she wasn't as well. Their chemistry was okay, but I was turned off by the fact that he allowed a level of intimacy with her thinking he was his brother... kinda skeevy in my opinion. Secondary characters were okay. Dialogue was good, interaction was interesting. The plot had some fun moments, Ryan's such a good sport. There were some conflicts along the way, most were resolved well. Predictability was low. The conclusion was good, mostly solid. I'd have liked to have "seen" Nolan's apology to Andi occur face-to-face so maybe she could have closure on her childhood and move forward in a healthier manner. Also, it would have been nice to know what occurred with Allie, too, since that was brought up so often.
Overall, the story itself was fun, but the lack of communication following and regarding to the mistaken identity and the fact that he's having sex with and falling for a girl that thinks he's his brother. That should have been a big enough mood-breaker! Not something easily overlooked.

Andi had her heart broken when she was a teenager by a man that she thought was her friend, but now that she is older she writes her own romances. While at a romance writer's convention in Vegas who does she get stuck in an elevator with? The man that destroyed her self confidence years ago...or so she thinks. What she doesn't know is that it is actually his older brother. She comes up with a plan to seduce him and then leave him wanting but the attraction between the two of them is off the charts.

I love Cathryn Fox's series, In the Line of Duty, so I was really excited to see her jump on the "What Happened in Vegas" train. I've really been enjoying this series and reading from authors I hadn't heard of before. It's a lot of fun to see everyone's take on a Vegas love story. This one had me laughing out loud a few times, and the tomboy in me loved Ryan's idea for a date with Andi. So much fun! The story moves fairly quickly because it takes place in just a week, but I think that adds to the fun. A few times in the story they talk about how Ryan once had a "stalker situation" but they never really say what happened. It's not really a big deal but the curious part of me was wondering and a little bummed when it was never explained. I also thought it would have been interesting to see an interaction with Andi and Nolan now...just for closure. I still really enjoyed this one though.

This is fantastic, funny and wonderful book! I loved it and how Ryan Wheeler and Andi Palmer first meet is just hilarious!

Andi Palmer is in Las Vegas for a Romance Writers Convention and when in the hotel's elevator, of course, malfunctions on its way to the lobby, she meets Ryan Wheeler. However, since she had been stuck in there, she starts to change her clothes, so when the doors finally open she's found by Ryan in her "bloomers" and bra! What happens next is very funny and eye opening when the elevator finally reaches the lobby. Andi recognizes Ryan from her home town as someone who broke her heart when she was overweight and hopelessly in love with him. But all is not what it seems and what happens next with a male model contest and mistaken identity sets the tone for the rest of the book.

Ryan is a horror writer and in Las Vegas to research for his next book and has asked to be put into a room that is supposed to be haunted. He doesn't want anyone to know who or why he's there due to a stalker incident previously. His family is very close including his sister who has a baby due any day. But he soon falls for Andi even though he's not being honest, she doesn't want the week to end wither.

You will love and want to re-read this book just so that you can fall in love with Ryan and Andi all over again.

Betting on the Wrong Brother is a standalone contemporary romance novel by Cathryn Fox.
Andi Palmer is one of our favorite types of people, a romance writer. She's at a writer's convention when she runs into who she believes is the man she used to pine over as a young girl. Ryan Grayson has a chance meeting with Andi and is immediately taken by her. But, they don't recognize each other for who they really are, and this leads us into a story of humor, hot times, and happiness.

Told in third person point of view, Betting on the Wrong Brother was a feel-good romance story. I've never been to Vegas, but I felt like I ventured there in this book. The lights and sounds were visible and audible to me as I read and experienced each page. Talk about some characters that were were sweeter than southern tea. Ryan and Andi were from the cane that the sugar comes from; not diluted or refined, but one hundred percent real goodness. As they stumbled through their pasts and ventured into their future, they left a trail of wonder along the way. I was happy to have had the opportunity to read this story from Author Cathryn Fox.

This one didn't work for me. I picked it up at a time when I'd had my fill of insecure heroines... and this story has an insecure heroine with a vindictive streak. Andi Palmer, romance author, wants to get back at a boy from high school so she comes up with a revenge plot to make him sorry. Only she has the wrong guy as she has mistaken Ryan Grayson for his brother, Nolan Wheeler. Tons of miscommunication and misunderstanding ensue, along with several rounds of sex for the wrong reasons. I just found myself not caring. I didnt like Andi or her antics. I liked Ryan, but his beta personality made his playing alpha in the bedroom suspect. I ended up skimming alot just to see how the big reveal played out. And I still couldnt bring myself to care.

This one has some decent reviews, so maybe I'm just being moody. It happens. I received an advanced copy of this book from Entangled via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. 2 stars / 3 flames.

3.5 "Viva Las Vegas" Stars from Me x

This is Andi and Ryan's story. It was quite witty and I liked the romance sizzle. Andi is at a writers convention where she meets up again with Ryan who was the lustful object of her teenage devotion and heartache !!!.However, Andi has pegged the wrong brother, it was his younger sibling (Nolan) who caused her the strife !!!

So, Andi enter's Ryan into a "cover model" competition, thinking she is quite ingenious, exacting her revenge on his dismissal of her as a teenager, and crushing her confidence and self esteem. Ryan however is very much taking notice of Andi and he is soooo ready to make amends for his brother spurning Andi when they were younger. She just doesn't know that yet ;0)

Light, funny, quick read. Well done Cathryn and many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xx

Perfect palate cleaner...light and fluffy and completely necessary after after my book melt down and total dummy spit over Colleen Hoover.

Andi is a romance novelist at a convention in Vegas when an elevator mishap has her trapped with an old crush, Nolan, who humiliated her and crushed her confidence as a teen.
But it seems hottie Nolan doesn't remember, or recognise Andi, so she plots to pay him back.

But the reader is privy to the fact that the hottie is in fact Nolan's brother, Ryan, a Horror writer, who is immediately attracted to the feisty novelist.

A little game of cat and mouse plays out and miscommunications ensue.

The MCs are both adorable and slightly dorky and of course they fall for each other.

There is limited angst and a fairly predictable hurdle before their HEA but overall this was an entertaining and easy book to read.

Another light, fun, sexy read in the What Happens in Vegas series! This is one convention I definitely want to attend.

Andi Palmer is having one of those day! That's how she ended up in an elevator with very little on to hide her girly parts. Of course that's exactly were she runs into her teenage crush Ryan Wheeler. He doesn't seem to recognize her though and even gives her a fake name so it seems only fair to exact a little payback!! That's were the hilarity begins and this one will keep you chuckling all the way through.

If you are looking for a deeply moving story with angst and heartbreak this isn't it. It's fun, light hearted and completely entertaining. I highly recommend it.

Ryan meets the hot Andi in an elevator of a hotel in Las Vegas. She appears to recognize him. He does not remember her but her name sounds familiar. They are instantly attracted to one another.

Andi is a little mad that Nolan does not remember her. Figures. He treated her just like that in the past, too. Now she is thinking this might be her chance to heat him up and then let him down. The perfect revenge.

Too bad once they connect and the sparks are flying no one wants to let the other go. What a great story and full of surprises. I had a hard time putting it down.
