A forbidden office romance. She was off limits in more ways than one. So why can't I get her out of my head?
Nicole was stuck in a rut. Marking time in a dead-end job, working for a boss who made life miserable, she was ready for a change even as she'd lost all hope. Even taking on a new intern felt like taking on more of her crazy boss's unwanted work.
Erica wanted to break free. She's lived life in a gilded cage. An heiress who never had any fun because of an overprotective father. Working an internship under a fake name at the company she's expected to take over someday is the last thing she wanted for her last summer before graduating college.
Neither girl thought a simple internship could change their lives. Neither expected sparks to fly. But as supervisor and intern come together in a forbidden office romance they'll find that the one thing they needed to break free was each other!
Typical Mia Archer book. There's not a ton of depth in this story but that's not always a bad thing. It's an easy read with little angst and a happy ending.
4-1/2 stars. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really liked this book. Both characters were interesting and the writing really drew me into the book. I like Archer's writing lot. I find it easy to read, with interesting characters, and a smooth flow to the story. Two things that held this a little short of 5 stars for me, is that I don't find it credible that Nicole doesn't suspect who Erica really is. When you work for someone like Christine, and you're as intelligent as Nicole is, there's really only one reason she would ever treat an intern with respect. Yet Nicole doesn't speculate about it at all. Minor, minor detail. The other thing is that the anonymous interview at the end was a little predictable. I don't mind really. The entire story was really enjoyable and engaging, and kept me turning pages, not wanting to put the book down. Definitely recommended for a nice romantic love story.
I'll be honest, if this was a hetero romance I would have been rolling my eyes sometimes. But hey, it's two cute girls falling in love and being successful and stuff and my cold, dead lesbian heart really liked it. Is the idea of falling for a billionaire cutie a bit cliche? Maybe but it is done really nicely here although the twist i.e. that they are super rich comes a lot sooner than I had expected for this sort of book. It quickly bounces along and just desserts are served to the bad gals. It is a nice fluffy romance that kept my interest although I was a little
The only thing that really irritated me was that the story was over...with 28% of the book still left, taken up with an overly long sample and adverts for her other books. I get it, advertising for self publishers is very important but I think the sample could have just been one chapter to the same effect.
I'm a fan of Ms. Archer's work and this falls in with her newer, romantic themed stories. Meaning not-erotic, so don't be upset if that's what you're expecting. This is a sweet story about two women meeting in the workplace and forced to work together under stressful circumstances. Of course that's not the whole story, and I won't be divulging more.
It's a fun bit of reading with characters you can probably relate to. Worth picking up for a light and easy read.
The story was ok, but the phrase “dear old dad” three times in one paragraph is very jarring... three time in one chapter is too many. Three times in the whole book would *maybe* be appropriate.
“I moved back up her body one final time and my heart skipped a beat. She was staring at me. Pretty fucking intently. That was the kind of look that made it absolutely clear she was interested. And then the elevator doors were closing and I sighed.”
“I had one hell of an inconvenient girl crush, and it was driving me to distraction.” + • + • + • +
A good, entertaining story with interesting characters. It was a very enjoyable & easy to read. I recommend this book.
Hey❗ you got to read this book❗. Nicole is this timid middle aged adult girl with an insecure image that her supervisor takes consist advantage of. And one such time she takes advantage of Nicole is when she is informed that their will be a intern coming to work on level #7. And that's when things start to pick up its pace. Because the new intern turns out to be the owner and president's only child Erica. I think that is a sufficient sample.

This is, again, a book that just makes you feel good, like most of Mia Archer’s books. It is sweet, funny and adorable. Both characters are likable and make you rooting for them.
Their relationship seemed very real in the progress... it wasn’t too fast and all the mishaps made it seem more realistic.
Very basic, very boring. I don't even know why I picked this up, let alone finished it. The writing was probably the worst I've read in a long, long time, and the story was irritating to say the least. I don't expect to have remembered reading this by the end of the month, let alone the end of the year.
I wonder if the author is a beginner!m? This story was kinda messy and lacking a lot of elements. Everything went fast and doesn't make a sense either. Seriously, both characters are immature and boring. Not a fan at all.
Entretenido, pero nada más. No hay un gran romance, no profundiza la historia, no hay un background de los personajes, no hay riqueza en la escritura. Es simplemente entretenido pero seguramente en un par de días me habré olvidado de lo que trataba.
Easy, light reading. I would recommend the book to someone who's looking for a quick and fun read but it comes with a warning to expect less depth and more cliches. While the funny dialogues and fast pace of the book make it quite enjoyable to read, the story is just too unbelievable. The other characters are tools and even the main characters lack character development.
1☆ and that's being generous. This book was pretty bad, the story was rubbish, the characters were weak and there was no chemistry or good sex scenes. There were also quite a few grammatical errors so it was a total waste of my time and I wouldn't recommend it. I won't be reading this author again.
