Using the suit that gives her the ability to fly and turn invisible, she takes photos of superheroes in combat with their deadliest enemies. Some of Meg's subjects aren't exactly delighted with her work. Cougar and his sidekick Lynx, for example, find themselves the butt of the late-night talk show circuit because of one of Meg's photos. They decide to take erotic revenge, and soon Meg finds herself in a delicious hero sandwich.
Candy for her Soul by Sheri Gilmore: There's a reason mama always said not to take candy from a stranger. In exchange for her soul, he grants the desire of her heart: two men to fulfill her every erotic fantasy. Love wasn't part of the bargain.
Fortune's Star by Morgan Hawke: In the heart of the Imperial Stars, past and future collide, as ghosts converge in battle for a fortune-teller's soul ... on Port Destiny Station. Luxi Emery was perfectly happy with her position as the receptionist for Armored Media Corp. Then her hidden talent for seeing the future awakened--and exposed a black-mailing con-artist haunted by a malevolent ghost. It was a lose-lose situation, and Luxi had only a single shred of hope. Her future awaits on Port Destiny Station. A future intertwined with Amun, the handsome diplomatic telepath, and Leto, a ghost-haunted cyborg with very human carnal appetites. If they can resolve a few ...intimate ... details. Yet a darker future is chases Luxi: they are not alone, and Leto's is not the only hungry ghost.

The anthology includes one story that it is written by Morgan Hawke and it is inspired by Interstellar Service & Discipline universe, one of my favourite and most progressive (for me) sci fi erotica series.
So, the story "Fortune's Star" with a ghost, a telepath and a a ghost-haunted cyborg is my favourite in this book.
Other that that there is a story with a demon's son and his best friend (by Sheri Gilmore) which is not bad and a story with two super heroes (by Angela Knight) that I did not particularly liked.

Hero Sandwich by Angela Knight

To the superheroes and supervillains of New York City, Meg Jennings is Paparazzi, an invisible flying menace who snaps pictures of them while they are out fighting the good fight. When one of her photos ends up causing speculation about superheroes Cougar and Lynx's sexual preferences, the brothers have had enough. It's time to bring this flying menace down. They lay a trap for her and she walks right into their arms. Now poor Meg is facing prison for past crimes, but Cougar and Lynx offer her a way out by magnanimously allowing her to pay off her debt to society with a good old fashioned hero sandwich.

This incredibly naughty short story was so funny. Cougar and Lynx are like Batman and Robin (without the homoerotic tendencies) and they work Meg like a symphony. The sex was a little forceful yet extremely titillating. It's also way too short and I wanted more. This was a very enjoyable short story.

ETA: I just finished Lynx's story, Voodoo. Not as good as Hero Sandwich, mainly because it's very short but it wasn't bad. I liked it. Nowhere near as kinky as Hero Sandwich, though.

Candy for her Soul by Sheri Gilmore

Natalie Pasqua has always wanted David, the high school stud, but she's also always wanted Nico Bui, the high school bad boy. Eight years after high school Natalie is back in town and immediately runs into both of them. The sparks immediately fly and with a little maneuvering from a helpful demon this trio will finally get their happily ever after.

Alot of sex in this one, but it was also a surprisingly nice story. The men grow up and stop being ashamed of their sexual needs and Natalie soon finds the confidence to step up and become the glue in this happy little trio, which is led by Nico's alpha dog status. This story is helped along by Nico's absentee demon father, Luke. He wants his son to find happiness and so he meddles in his life. Of course Luke samples the goods before he brings everyone together. I'm normally not a fan of m/m but my favorite couplings was between the men. They were explicit and they should have made me squeamish but instead I found them very erotic.

Fortune's Star by Morgan Hawke

Luxi Emery can see into the future and she can follow the threads of life's choices. She loses her job due to her ability and sets a rogue ghost after her. She heads out for a fresh start and fate leads her to a ghost haunted cyborg named Leto and a suave telepathic diplomat named Amun. The two men are in love but due to Leto's need to feed off of human emotions during sex he cannot be sustained by Amun without harming him. Then fate leads Luxi into their lives and she has a special ability that allows the three of them to be together, but Leto isn't the only hungry ghost who wants her, the evil spirit who has been chasing after her wants her, too.

Excellent scifi erotica. This is almost exactly like Victorious Star. In my opinion Amun and Leto are almost interchangeable with Seht and Ravnos and it has the same set up in regards to hierarchy, Leto dominates Luxi and Amun dominates Leto and Luxi. The men aren't as brutal and domineering as Seht and Ravnos from Victorious Star, though. This was the longest of the three stories and definitely the most interesting. Especially that crotch rope. Hehe. Now that was interesting. While the sex is explicit and a great romp, it's the incredible storytelling that was the best part for me. This has got everything but the kitchen sink and you will not be disappointed.

Anthology. 3.67 stars. Better than average erotica fiction.

1. Hero Sandwich by Angela Knight. Menage a trois with super heroes. Cute, very short story. ***

2. Candy for her Soul by Sheri Gilmore. High school jock, bad boy and nerd meet up 7 years later and find out, with a little outside help, that they're better together than apart. Good story. ****

3. Fortune's Star by Morgan Hawke. Luxi gets fired from her job because they find out she's psychic when she tries to save her boss. Her boss then finds another job for her as a thank you and on the way to that planet/space station she meets Leto, a cyborg. They kiss, some hanky panky happens and then she meets another man Amun at a coffee shop where she's telling fortunes. He just happens to work with Leto and they are lovers that haven't been able to be together since the first time because Leto feeds from sex. Luxi is a perfect conduit and they live in threesome HEA. Enjoyed this story. I think it's the best of the bunch but I'm a sci-fi fan so I'm prejudiced.****

HOT. If you want a short story that will make you squirm and sweat and seriously wish you were one of the characters, Fortune's Star will do the trick. Well-executed erotica, with an intriguing scifi storyline entwined and enhanced by the scorching sex scenes, I give this piece two panting thumbs up!

(Note: I read this in the Hard Candy Anthology, and the other two stories were wonderful also!)

Ok, this should really be more like 3.8 stars, or something. Three stories in one book, so I'll kind of review them separately.

Hero Sandwich by Angela Knight ***

This was a cute story with a superhero twist(ed). I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been a bit longer. I'm glad I got to read this, because I'm interested in reading Angela Knight (I am reading a non-fiction title she has written about writing romance/erotica).

Candy for Her Soul by Sheri Gilmore ****

This was the standout story for me in this book. The paranormal parts of the story didn't overwhelm the naughty bits. I'm not sure I bought how easily the m/m/f relationship comes about in this one, but I did enjoy the journey! This was muy caliente for me...and I loved the ending. I would have loved for this to be a full-length novel.

Fortune's Star by Morgan Hawke ***1/2

Overall, I liked this story. I had already read Victorious Star and Fallen Star. And I have a strange attraction to Hawke's stories, though I haven't quite figured all of that out yet (some of the bondage stuff is a bit over the top, and there's so much anal action that it starts to get tiresome after awhile). The beginning of this story was engrossing to me, and I liked the psychic bent of the main character. The scene on the tram- whew! Now that was "the hotness!" I did like the glimpse into the diplomatic world, and would have enjoyed that exploration in a longer treatment of the characters. But once Luxi hooked up with the boys, things entered familiar territory, if you've read other Hawke stories. It always seems to be the same scenario, with the same language (ok, maybe you do need to tell someone to "push out" the very first time, after you've finger lubed them, but really, must it be the same dialogue in each and every story????)

My conclusion about Hard Candy is that is a fast, fun, sexy and enjoyable read.

Hard Candy- Angela Knight, Morgan Hawke, Sheri Gilmore

If you find yourself titillated and curious about threesomes then you may want to start your journey with this book .It is by three totally different authors with three distinctly different writing styles.

Many of us have read Angela Knight and her Mageverse books but many don’t know that she has a bit of a more erotica bent too. It certainly shows with some of her love scenes in her non-erotica. Ms Knight has a flair of blending a good story with steamy love scenes.

Sheri Gilmores story was the least favorite of mine but still well worth reading for a slightly different point of view. This story combines an aspect of threesomes that some may be a tad uncomfortable with but is elegantly and sensitively done in this book.

Lastly “Fortunes Star” is my favorite and the longest of the stories. Morgan Hawke is a gem of an erotica author and she certainly knows how to add sci-fi to the mix. The men in this story are very, very unique.
This story combines the uniqueness of this particular species/man, magic, and bi-sexuality and is all wrapped up in a great space drama background. Ms Hawke has written at least three other books set in this type of world. I can recommend at least two of her other sci-fi eroticas along with this one.

Three erotic stories written by Angela Knight, Sheri Gilmore and Morgan Hawke. All of them are a menage á trois mostly m/f/m but also m/m and rather erotic. So don´t expect too much plot...lol! My favorite story was the third one by Morgan Hawke "Fortune´s Star" set in a futuristic wordl where a cyborg housing a human spirit, a telepath and a fortune-teller are the main characters. I also found the story quite compelling and I wouldn´t have minded if it wasn´t only a story but a whole book.
The two others by Angela Knight "Hero Sandwich" was mostly a long sex scene the plot secondary and "Candy for her Soul" by Sheri Gilmore was about a demon father who schemes to give his son the both people he loves. Again I would have liked to read more.
So if you like to read romance with hot sex scenes and are not offended by same sex relationships you may consider reading this anthology. For me it was an easy and enjoyable read in between!

There were three stories in this book and if I could rate them separately, I'd give Hero Sandwich 4 stars, Candy for her Soul 4.5 stars and Fortune's Star 5 stars.

Hero Sandwich, the shortest of the three, was a cute, fun romp with hot sex but not much of a story.

Candy for her Soul was a really good story AND had really hot sex. 2 guys, 1 girl, gay for you, best friends, unrequited love...this story had it all and did it very, very well.

Fortune's Star - Well, it just doesn't get much better than Sci-Fi erotica and Morgan Hawke does it better then anyone. Her first book, Interstellar Service & Discipline Series:Victorious Star is one of my all time favorite books and this short story did not fail to live up to my expectations. Two very alpha males who love each other is hot enough but then throw in a woman to complete their happy little family and it's pure bliss. I want more of these characters and hope that Morgan will write a full length novel about them.

Three erotic stories involving MMF threesomes.
Angela Knight's story is short on character development but still sexy and fun. Set in a world where superheroes exist, it is more about titillation than storytelling. That said, it is still a spicy little read.
Sheri Gilmore's tale has more depth to it. A contemporary tale about three former school mates who realize their heart's desire lies with each other. Some nice characterization leads to a solid story about three friends who become lovers.
The last story, written by Morgan Hawke, is terrific. A scifi tale with strong world building, good characters, and sex scenes that are integral to the plot. This story alone makes the book worth reading.

these are all menage stories

all kind of shallow, but I liked the characters, and there was cool! stuff!! in each story.

Angela Knight's was probably the story that I liked the least, which is funny because she's the only one I'd read before, there was a spider woman story of hers I'd thought was funny, it was in that Guardian? Mage? something universe but I can't remember which one it was... anyway, the other stories were funny and charming enough that I'm looking up the authors for more of their stuff.

This was an interesting combination of stories. The first, Hero Sandwich by Angela Knight, was the shortest. It's a very cute story about a couple of superheroes who catch Papparazzi, who took pictures of them, and get revenge. The second is Candy for Her Soul by Sheri Gilmore, an interesting take about accepting gifts from strangers. The final story is Fortune's Star by Morgan Hawke. I really enjoyed reading this one. It's set in the same future world as Victorious Star. This is a very hot read.

I bought this book for Ms. Hawke and Ms. Knight. I like both the stories. The smexy superhero one from Ms. Knight was fast and enjoyable. I liked how Jennings was taken to task by Cougar. Hero sandwich could been a bit longer with a few more meals...

Ms. Hawke's Fortune Star takes me to the sexy alternative future world of Imperial Stars. The ghost theme was pretty hot. Luxi is wooed by two men, well, kind of two men and I loved it. Ms. Hawke writes hot scenes.

This anthology was worth the money just for Fortune's Star, an excellent addition to Hawke's Star series. This is a reread story for me.

It's even more worth it for the train scene.

Merged review:

I finally finished the other two stories in this anthology - my favorite was Fortune's Star, another great addition to her Star series and already a reread - I rated it 4 stars and the other two stories 3 stars.

I think this was my first exposure to Morgan Hawke and the reason I became a fan of hers. Cyborgs, aliens, telepaths, and Japanese spirits set in a futuristic world. The pacing is good, the plotting is elaborate for a novella but it holds together and the characters are well-developed. It's an odd mix of funny, erotic, tender and scary. Has ties to the stand-alone novel Hungry Spirits.

The Angela Knight superheroes story is great fun; Sheri Gilmore's is sweet; but the Morgan Hawke story is fantastic, and led me to buying ALL her stuff.

Have read, and re-read this book for years :)

ETA: This is a must KEEP book & have read over and over again. Never gets old :)

Another re-read of superheroes, and Lexi's probability skill. Smashing!

I enjoyed the first two stories a lot. I wish the 2nd one especially had it's own book and was a lot longer.

I thought the third story was too complicated. It was the longest but I really didn't like it. If it had been better, I would have given the book four stars.

Hawke is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. While this takes place int the ISD universe, it is a tangential book with its own set of characters. Loved the Cyborg. Good story and action along with the hot sex.

5 stars for Ms. Hawke. The rest I haven't read, I admit. I wish the story was longer and it lacked the depth of her other stories set in this world, but it was still a treat. I loved they dynamics of the characters and the cyborg/ghost was tasty! Only bummer? no Skeldi in sight. ;-)

Candy for her Soul - enjoyed the m/m element, but menage scenes hot also.
