Kate Leth is a Canadian author and illustrator working in comics, animation, design, and feelings. A grown-up goth and pop culture devotee, Kate specializes in work for kids and teens. Their comics work includes Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!; Girl Over Paris; Spell on Wheels; and Adventure Time, among others.

They live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with an absolutely ridiculous cat and several regrets. They are queer and genderfluid/non-binary, a fact that greatly influences their work. Kate uses they/them pronouns, but probably won’t correct you.

Talk about being smacked in the face with nostalgia. I was surprised to find this book on the shelf at my local library since I never knew a graphic novel of this beloved character existed.

I love how the authors added their own touches putting their own spin and perspective on things, but also remaining true to what many of us had fallen in love with. I personally believe they did Tim Burton justice. The artwork amongst these pages are so beautifully done as well.

Another read I want to add to my collection one day, so of course I'd recommend this novel.

Have you ever thought of having corrective surgery or prosthetics? I know a doctor that might be able to help you. I'd like to meet him. But if you had regular hands you'd be like everyone else. Yes, I know. Then no one would think you're special. You wouldn't be on TV or anything. No matter what, Edward will always be special —From the 1990 movie Edward Scissorhands

This review is mostly for Volume 2: Whole Again because it wasn't available anywhere. After getting the deluxe edition The Final Cut (which is a must have for all Burton fans) I was then able to read the next part of the full story. I really liked Volume 1: Parts Unknown alot more I thought it was very reminiscent with the theme of it's original movie version. I also preferred the darker tone in the first book Burton's signature brooding mood was felt throughout the whole first half.

Whole Again felt very different. and by that I mean, it didn't have the same Burton-esque feel. They brighten up the darkness quite a bit in this story It was less eerie. The colors were more vibrant and everything seem alot more cheerful. Although technically, in the movie the suburb neighborhood was those things. don't get me wrong Whole Again was still enjoyable but for my personal taste I'm always drawn to a gloomy atmosphere and honestly, you actually expect it when venturing into a world in relation to Burton because its the most familiar quality within all his work.

Edward Scissorhands is easily one of Tim Burton's best films Long story short, these graphic novel adaptation isn't so much an sequel to the movie as it is a tribute to the brilliant Tim Burton himself. Kate Leth and Rausch are both fans of his work which is great to know that this comic comes from people who cares about the character. This (hardback) Final Cut Edition contains all 10 individual issues of the series that are also a two part graphic novel. I do look forward to other future stories of Edward Scissorhands if there is anymore. And I think it would be great to also see perhaps, some other characters of Burton's for graphic novels stories. While this comic is a extension of Edward Scissorhands movie world, it also does a nice job on it's own inviting us back into his world but with new adventures

A sequel to Edward Scissorhands in comic form!? Yes, please! I was initially disappointed that this story takes place after the death of Kim, but seeing her daughter and granddaughter all grown up was an interesting endeavor. The granddaughter, Megs, now a teen reminds me a lot of Kim. The first volume deals with Edward finding out Kimberly died, and then activating another of The Inventor's creations, which he names Eli. Eli has issues and is psychotic, and after escaping the castle, kidnaps a local boy. The second volume deals with Edward and his new band of friends traveling to a talkshow where a world renowned surgeon offers to give Edward real hands. Unfortunately, she is not all that she claims to be.
All in all an entertaining sequel. There was some sweet Edward and Kimberly scenes told in flashback. The ending was a tad rushed for my taste, but well worth the read for any fan of the movie.

Meh. This feels very much like one of those tv cartoon spin off series with a 'monster of the week' each episode and no real connection to the original material. It also seems to be aiming a bit young audience wise (possibly hoping for nostalgic young parents?). We get a tiny bit of the after story from the movie, but nothing really satisfying. Also, and this is entirely personal preference, the choice to draw the caruncle area of the eye for each character irritated me every single time. Why would they do that? It didn't make the characters more expressive it just made them look detailed in weird ways that did not fit with the otherwise cute and cartoon-y style.

I enjoyed this take on Edward Scissorhands. The two stories combined in this book worked well together. There are a couple of swears near the end, but otherwise, it seems to be good for most upper elementary kids and up.

This book contains all 10 installments of the Edward Scissorhands comic book series with bonus material too.

In this series we have moved forward in time by 2 generations. Kim had a daughter called Milly and a granddaughter called Megs. It's from Meg's point of view that we rediscover Edward, experience the sadness of Eli's demise, the suspense of Phil's kidnap and ultimately the discomfort of the  'fixing' of Edward by the evil Dr Well's.

Kate and Drew are very clear about how this series is not a sequel to Tim Burton's Edward but more a homage to Burton's Edward, who they both clearly adore, in character and visually.

The admiration for the character of Edward and his world is clear. The messages in this series are just as important and powerful as in the original film and the story tugs on the heart strings still but not quite so hard this time.

It's a wonderful fandom world to get lost in, to reminisce within and to enjoy in a lighter, less melancholic way. It's more comical but still black and white. It's still a lesson in friendship but with a happy ending this time.

I was so excited to get this book and I loved it. I loved Edward Scissorhands as a kid and as an adult it remains one of my favorite movies. I loved the stories, especially the one about the talk show. Poor Edward, at least he has good friends now. <3 Really enjoyed the story and the art too.
