The world after the Shift Wars is not for the faint of heart. Life is a constant struggle. Each day harder to survive than the one before.

Tater, the traveling trader, has seen his fair share of this new world's atrocities. But somehow he has always managed to escape unscathed. Not this time.

This time it's his life on the line. And his deliverance may very well rest in the hands of a tortured young woman who no longer believes in hope or salvation.

Enjoy your trip into the perilous Sandlands.

I read this as a stand-alone short story, not having read the other books in the series. As such, it was an interesting tale, but I missed out on any backstory that led up to it. I still enjoyed it, but think I would have enjoyed it more with the added context.

Once again, Michelle Bryan shows why she is one of my favorite YA authors. I'm a HUGE New Bloods fan - TEAM JAX - so I was pretty pumped that she released a short story to help tide us over until book three is released. This book may not have Jax (total faux pas) but it does have the loveable Tater. Now I can commence counting down the days until book 3 and expect it to be just as great as all the rest!

Really good short story

Really good short story. A story about one of Taters adventures. And crazy people of their times. Wish there would have been more
