I like that Esther dropping out was quickly pushed aside, even if her parents reaction seemed a bit punitive... but what I most related to was the life she was leaving behind, best adopt a scorched earth policy...
Feels like the series is picking up again and getting back into the rhythm that made me enjoy John Allison's works overall. Focus on the three main cast and their shennanigans. Also, the drawing style didn't get to me as much, and I don't know if it was me or if Sarin has changed it.
Highlights - calling out Danny for poking around in Esther's sexual harassment areas, winter timber tubby tickle romances and finding inspo in the bounce back of North England after they were burnt to a crisp in 1069, like the oozing overspill of a grilled cheese sandwich. "Destroy all men". Here, here! Haha!
nice to see Esthers backstory a bit, but didn't like her very much. she's the Carrie Bradshaw of this group. Everyone is very funny though and enjoyed the issue, especially Daisy and Esthers face at her colleague.
"The grass isn't greener on the other side when your whole world is scorched earth." "William the Conqueror burned the north of England to nothing in 1069 and look at it now, you've got plumbing, wi-fi hotspots and table tennis."
