So many buildings have their dark secrets, but none are darker than those kept by the old abandoned community hospital in the small town of Tyrant's Grove. Now a Halloween attraction, this haunted house specializes in thrilling and scaring the people of Colorado each October, when the nights grow long and the wind howls through the trees.

But it is behind the facade of the demonic doctors and medical monsters that the real nightmares are to be found, as restless ghosts and earthbound spirits return to the place where they died, bound to the will of an ancient evil which preys upon the living. It falls to teenage psychic Danny Chill - the Deadseer - to confront the blackest horror at the hospital's very heart, fighting to either lay the tormented souls to rest...or to join them. Forever.

I'm a 48-year-old child who has no plans to ever actually grow up.

I make my living as a paramedic, clinical educator, for a busy hospital system and work as a street medic in a 911 system.

In my free time, I serve as the director of the Boulder County Paranormal Research Society, and investigate claims of haunted properties, people, and objects on both sides of the Atlantic. I love to read, particularly SF/Fantasy, history and historical fiction, the paranormal, and basically anything that piques my interest. I appear on the TV shows Haunted Hospitals, Paranormal 911, Paranormal Night Shift, Haunted Case Files, and several others.

I am an avid video gamer, table-top gamer, and love to build Lego. My wife and I are the proud humans of five adopted rescue cats and one smelly but adorable dog.

Another page turner!

I enjoyed Agonal Breath so much, I couldn't wait to move on to Last Halloween....and I wasn't disappointed. The characters that returned from Book 1 lost none of their luster, and the new characters slid right in to the story just as well. I would be super interested in seeing more of Becky's cousin, as well as however many more of the Deadseer Chronicles that the author chooses to write. These are awesome stories, with all the right amount of chills. Looking forward with fingers crossed for Deadseer 3!!

Lost sleep with this one!

FANTASTIC horror story! Started a little slow, but
once it for going --- wow! I totally enjoy the
adventures of Danny, Becky, and Lamiyah! I truly
hope there will be more to this series!!!! This story
line was riveting! I kinda had an idea it was
patterned after Asylum 49. Please write more
of this series!!! There are so many haunted places
that Danny, Becky and Lamiyah can go investigate!

No matter the century or the decade, teen problems and life angst are timeless and Richard has a definite knack for writing things that are geared towards young adults and making them interesting (and nostalgic) to adults at the same time. He makes you simultaneously feel the awkwardness of your teenage years while yelling at the characters from your adult brain.

When I finished book one of the Deadseer Chronicles, Agonal Breath (The Deadseer Chronicles), in 2015 I was immediately ready to start book 2…only there wasn’t one yet. I knew it was in the works, so I tried, and failed, to find my patience for the release date. All too often follow up books in a series disappoint me, but that is not the case with Last Halloween. This new adventure with Danny & Becky is just as interesting and fast paced as the first and the new characters that are introduced are fantastic. The backstory on the villain is well explained and I could see an even more detailed version of his reprehensible deeds putting him in the league of Voldermort (I would even go so far as to recommend a series on this particular baddy). While I recommend this book as highly as I did the first one, there is one small problem…. there is no book 3 yet!!!
