WOW. What another incredible and twisted adventure!
The characters are still awesome and amazing. The ups and downs between Angelica and Danny while fighting Fiona and her evilness still makes them the most fantastic couple and team.
The story-line had me on the edge of my seat and kept me wanting to read more. I just couldn't put it down!! The author did a fantastic job at pulling me in, asking questions and pondering about what would happen next. And cliffhangers are really not my thing because I end up twiddling my fingers until the next book, but I will wait for it just because I am so into this series. I WANT MORE!!!
Have you ever read a series where you're completely floored by the constant progress of it? Before delving into Life Sentence, we took the liberty of rereading Stake-Out and Miranda's Rights as a quick refresher, instantly transitioning into the newest release in the Paranormal Detectives series immediately after. While doing so, besides cementing our love for this series, we realized just how unbelievably far these books have come in just three installments! Luchesi amplified her skills in every way possible, creating an impeccable third publication to a series we will forever cherish. With additional, fresh characters, challenging struggles that have yet to be faced, even more heart-pounding action, and thought-provoking themes not touched upon by Luchesi in her previous two novels, this book will surely blow your socks off! Each time we read one of her books, she is able to astonish us with constant improvement and overall writing performance. This is an author who knows how to hone and cultivate her skills! The book community better watch out for this one!!!
When Miranda's Rights ended, we find Danny in a particularly hard place as he tries to decide whether or not to let comatose Angelica go forever. Of course, he has another choice of bringing her back to life by allowing the doctors to turn her into a full blooded vampire, which Angie has always been hesitant of fully giving into. Unwilling to let her go, though, he agrees to reanimate her, knowing full well that she will no longer be half human. When Angelica comes to, she more than struggles as she tries to come to terms with her new desire for blood and violence naturally brought upon by her transformation. A constant battle is going on inside of her that is not always controllable, especially when she's around those she loves. As a result, Angie believes that she is a monster and pushes Danny away right when they start to find themselves again. This was hard to watch unfold, especially because we saw just how purely Danny loves and cherishes her. However, these circumstances allowed Luchesi to explore something sincerely beautiful. We all have our demons inside of us, and sometimes the monster comes out, but there is so much more to a person than that. Danny understood this to his very core, sticking behind Angelica through thick and thin even when she insisted on shutting him out. He saw the wonder that she undeniably was and the beauty intrinsically sewn into her very being. He encouraged the kindness he knew Angelica thought she had personally lost, seeing the good inside of her when she was too stuck in the dark to see it for herself. His love was willing to barrel through any obstacle. Therefore, his character was our absolute favorite! (He definitely deserves to be on everyone's Top 10 Boyfriends list! He has such a swoon worthy devotion to Angelica!)
Each time a new Paranormal Detectives novel comes out, there is an added complexity to it. In this one, Luchesi delved into Daniel's psychic abilities. As a result, we were able to witness a great deal of flashbacks, which happen to be B's favorite parts! The sudden fallback into another's past hits home just how complex people can be and how deeply they can change and either mutate into something twisted or better themselves in a positive way. Nobody's past is safe or predicable in these books! Brighton and Mark were also wonderful additions to the story. We're so happy to see such diversity in the work of young authors today and appreciate the dynamic that these two brought to the story! The initial love that Mark showed when Brighton showed up at the PID headquarters in America was precious, and Brighton's attitude and comments toward Danny when they first met were absolutely hilarious!
Overall, we absolutely can't wait for Paranormal Detectives number four! As always, we'll be sitting on the edge of our seats in apprehension in order to discover what the talented Lily Luchesi will have in store for us next!!!
I really enjoy reading about Angelica, and Danny. It seems she can never be happy with just living a normal life with her soul mate. This book is a great read especially if you're into the paranormal world. I'm curious to know more about what will happen with Leander though. Anxious to start book four.
This is the third book in this series and you will need to read the first two prior to reading this one.
As I read each book I become more invested in Danny and Angelica's lives. With the start of this book Angelica is trying to cope with her change and Danny is enhancing his skills. It is a rocky road for both of them. Two friends arrive from London to help with the Paranormal Investigative Division. As secrets are learned and more secrets are kept everyone is on edge.
The great thing about Ms. Luchesi's writing is there is always non stop action. Danny learns more about his past. Each character is working together but working on pasts that can't stay hidden. Enter the world of vampires, demons, witches and more. You don't know what is waiting around the corner and you will be turning each page with baited breath. I loved all of the action and twists in the story but at times my heart was breaking for Danny and Angelica as their love is put to the test.
And of course we are left with one heck of a huge cliffhanger. Something big is brewing. Will the characters and the Paranormal Investigative Division be able to survive? I can't wait to see.
This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review. Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official.
And the story continues in this exceptional series containing raw feelings, incredible action and a powerful love. New characters are added to this book and tensions run high, bringing many questions to the readers mind. What will happen to everyone and especially Danny and Angelica. Will they be able to survive their past and present to hopefully have a future together??
This story carries with it more insight into Danny's psychic abilities, enabling us to learn more through all of the wonderful flashbacks.
I can hardly wait to tell you about the next read in this series!! I hope you all followed my recommendation and have started this series! This one will not disappoint either, so get busy reading!.
Angelica is now fully changed and since it wasn't her choice she is finding the transition difficult. Among the things she will have to accept about her new reality is just how much of a danger she will be to those she cares about most, including Danny.
Danny loves her and did what he thought was right even if it made her angry at him, but no matter what he will always love Angie. As their enemies gather strength for another attack they will have to work out their personal issues fast if they expect to have a chance at surviving.
Angelica is strong and sure most of the time but her sudden change made her begin to doubt herself, and I loved how Danny was able to be there for her as the voice of reason helping her see that she is not the monster she fears she is becoming.
Danny has come more into himself since the series started and I enjoyed seeing him as the strong and sure person he could be. His abilities are becoming stronger and gives him some added perks that help him in his line of work.
Love where the series is going and excited by the tease at the end and can't wait to see what happens with this storyline and the characters!
Wow I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and the third installment just got better! So much information unraveling that helps you piece together Angelica's life and also Danny's. Fiona is back and her past and present is quite interesting and Leander's story just opens this story wide up,I have no idea what this author has install for us in the next book. All I can say it's going to be big, huge after reading the end of this book,I wanted more and found myself lost in this fantastic unique tale being told. Shit just got real for Angelica Cross!
Assassin's reading reviewing group Books all things paranormal and romance ~
This was a great book and a great addition to the series. There was more suspense in this one than the others in my opinion and I loved it. There were times I wanted to shake Angelica and tell her to stop being stupid but she could take me so I refrained. I liked the new characters that were introduced in this book and I think they were much needed.
Lily Luchesi is a great writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.
Book Dedication: “To everyone who has ever been made to feel discriminated against, bullied, or second best. You’re all rock stars.”
This third book in The Paranormal Detectives Series takes us on Angelica Cross’ new life journey to discovering what the world looks like from the vantage point of a newly turned full vampire. Will she be able to keep her relationship with human Danny? Will Angelica turn to the darkness or try and hold onto her former human traits? As luck would have it, Beautiful Bookworm – I’ll never tell - I do not post spoilers in my reviews.
Can she fight the darkness in her own blood?
The plot pace was gripping, poignant, sophisticated and sinuous; the characters were original and yet at the same time humanistic in their angst with new life challenges they were facing. Ms. Luchesi continues to amaze and delight the reader with the natural growth of each characters story and how they deal with the twists and turns life in the paranormal world throws at them.
I give this book 5 Stars and kindly counsel you purchase this, Bodacious Booklover for your own personal library.

I love this book and this series. This is quickly becomming one of my favorite paranormal series. The books is very well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The author does a great job portraying the characters, their eotions and the experiences they go through.
The books do need to be read in order. If you have not yet read Stake Out or Miranda's Rights, this review will contain spoilers.
Danny Mancini is part of the group of people who know that paranormal creatures are not myth and fiction, but they exist in real life. He finally realizes that he loves Angelica Cross, regardless if she is half vampire. He loved her in his first life, and he is determined to love her in tis life as well.
Danny has now killed Vincent Cross, Angelica's father, been attacked by cursed werewolves, dealt with his dead fiance, who was actually turned into a vampire, and more. In book 2 Fiona Guilfoyle was introduced. In Danny's first life as Jonathan Price, Fiona wanted everything Angelica had. However, she is not able to kill Angelica, so if she can't have Jonathan Price, nobody can. So she killed Jonathan.
Fiona is determined to get rid of Angelica once and for all, and that will leave Danny for the taking. Fiona is not only a very powerful dark witch, but she has the help of Hell on her side. Will Danny, Angelica and the PID be able to stop her?
I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal, romance, vampires, werewolves, demons and so much more. I will be going directly into book 4. Review for Mommy's Naughty Playground.
Life Sentence is the third book in the Paranormal Detectives series and in this book, we get to learn more about the fiercest vampire I have read in a while, Angelica. She is such a powerhouse but this story showed her softer side a bit as well. It was nice to see her as well rounded as I thought she would be. We get to see her and Danny fight pure evil again but this time with a little help from some friends. This story handled flipping from present day to the past seamlessly and I thought that doing so helped me see the characters in a different light, to understand them better so to speak. I will say this though, the ending almost broke my heart, it was sweet and lovely and everything I expected from these two. I give this book four stars because as soon as I finished it I wanted to reread it and then dive into book four. These characters are a different interpretation of vampires and the like, and I find that to be refreshing. It doesn’t have to be all evil all the time and it is one reason why I love this series as much as I do.

Angelica and Danny are back in this third book of the series, along with a couple of new characters, Mark and Brighton. This instalment gives us more insight into Angelicas history and helped set the scene, without detracting from the story which, as always, is crammed with action, I am fully invested in the futures of the characters and am looking forward to reading more.
I gave Stake-Out and Miranda's Rights, the first two books in the series 5 stars. As I think this one is the best so far it really should have 6!!
Angelica's and Danny's adventures run the gamut of emotions...it is literally a roller coaster ride from first to last page! And with everything that they have gone through, everything they have seen and experienced, I, as the reader, was BEGGING the author, "Please, just this ONCE, give them the Hollywood ending!" But then Luchesi, in her trademark stellar fashion, replies, "Sorry, my dear, but that is not how I do things."
I loved this book. Cannot cannot CANNOT wait to see what's next for Angelica and Danny, as well as Mark and Brighton. This unorthodox quadrangle have captured me in a way that I didn't see coming, and God only knows what Luchesi has in store for them next!
Angela is now a full vamp. She is pissed but when Danny tells her he has no choice, she sees reason. He had to let Fiona go in order to save her. They are both scared about what she might do with the new blood in her system. Fiona is another story all together. They still need to stop her.
When Leander Price makes his presence known, he shows Danny part of the past.
Now they have both of them to contend with. Demons are nasty things. Angie once again has to leave Danny devastated and alone. Will they ever find a way to just be together. This review will continue for Book 4.
In book 3 of this Paranormal Detectives series, Luchesi continues to bring the excitement and intrigue. I love how seamlessly she weaves her story from one book to the next. She manages to keep in the "vein" (pardon the pun) of the story line in this series, yet continues to bring in new elements and characters that keep the story fresh and engaging. In a market that is virtually flooded with paranormal books/series, this series stands out as something refreshingly-different and noteworthy.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in order to read and provide an honest review. This is no way affected my review.
This Paranormal Detectives Series has me so captivated that I cannot put this series down!!! Angelica has increased her powers to fight the war against Fiona, but it it enough? Brighton and Michael, from the PID offices in the UK, are summoned to the States offices after the death of the director. Brighton trains Danny how to control his powers to help fight off the enemy. Ms Luchesi has written an amazing series that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat with this Paranormal Detective Series. I highly recommend this series. I suggest that you start on book 1. You will not regret it. I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.
Angelica and Danny work for the PID' trying to stop supernatural threats to the world. Angelica is a half vampire when the book begins but that soon changes. Danny is her reincarnated lover. I enjoyed the story and the world that the author has created. I thought it was well written and a must for readers who love supernatural stories. It was the third book which can be read as standalone, but there is a lot of backstory I didn't have, having not read the first two books yet.
the least favourite perhaps because i hated the ending^^;; Angelic must adapt and after time she and Danny start to mend their relationship, we discover other characters really interesting from past life...big fight , lot of action and then....bam Angelica decide something that shatter everything. It could have been an ending happier, a little reprieve to allow us to stop there and just continue if we want more insteade it's a cliffhanger that make me doubt i want to continue the series
Lily Luchesi's "Life Sentence" is the third tale in the Paranormal Detectives series. Once again there is an ensemble cast. The main characters Angelica & Danny are back. There are all new struggles for them to face. I like the past memories aspect and the twists that makes for. The writing flows well and keeps you reading. I can't wait to read #4.
But I'm in love with the story and characters so I can't stop reading it. It's driving me mad that every time things go great, they're pulled apart again.
These books just keep getting better. The plot thickens as Fiona tries yet again to destroy Angie and Danny. But this time she had help and her help is so demonic and familiar that it takes them some time to realIze where they know him from
Just when things begin to change for the better, they take another turn for the worse! New characters and new powers keep this series fresh. Can't wait for more!
I really wish I could give this book more than 5 stars! I must say that these books just kept getting better. I have very much enjoyed reading Lily's books and I look forward to reading more of her work. You can see the writing of this author grow the more she writes. I love paranormal books and these did not disappoint at all. These books will definitely keep you turning the pages! You will want to see what is going to happen next and you will not want to put them down.
I honestly can't wait for the 4th book to come out to see what is going to happen next to Angelic & Danny!
I'm sitting here pondering the three books that currently make up Lily's Paranormal Detectives Series (a 4th is coming early next year!) and for the first time since Harry Potter a third book in a series is my favorite. Well for now because I don't know what the forth book will bring.
This installment was fast paced and action packed. I really enjoyed reading this paranormal /horror /action /romance mix. If this book was on a menu it would read: Flash back entree, Demon action main with a side dish of psychic powers and newly turned vampire and a large serve of Inter-species romance for desert.
I was excited at the end of Miranda's Rights to see how Leander's character played out in this book and I was not disappointed. I was drawn to Leander in Miranda's Rights. I was intrigued by his darkness and mystery. The whole time I was reading Life Sentence I had to remind myself he was the "bad guy" and I shouldn't like him, but meh, I dug his self-righteousness and self-imposed darkness - oh dear, moving right along.
I loved the edition of Mark and Brighton's characters and the initial stand-off-ish suspicion between Danny & Brighton. I really hope Mark, Brighton and Danny are back for the next installment, but the feeling I got the feeling from the epilogue that we might be following Angie solo in book four with appearances from Leander. I'm sure what ever direction Lily takes the characters in it will be awesome. I will have to patiently wait and see. Five "It drew me in and I would happliy re-read" Stars
**Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Angelica and Danny are back! They both desperately love each other but fate seems constantly set against them...
This book continues where the last left off but I would definitely recommend reading the first books in the series as it might not make that much sense otherwise. Both main characters are undergoing massive changes and are chasing down the evil witch who tore their lives apart.
I have to admit though, I'm not finding Angelica a particularly likeable character any more as she leaves poor Danny confused with all of her conflicting messages and actions. She wants to keep him at arm's length while she deals with her own stuff, but at the same time she keeps bumping into him and leaving him messages. After 200 years of traversing the planet, you'd think she would have picked up some more emotional maturity!
I loved the introduction of Mark and Brighton to this novel, a pair of agents from the London branch of the PID - both of them have their own histories to tell which appear in a series of flashbacks throughout the novel.
This book had its fair share of flashbacks into the history of Angelica and her father, as well as his fellow hunters - these were really enjoyable and set the scene as to how the wheels were set in motion that led to the current events.
This series makes me think of a mix between Supernatural the TV series and Blade, so if either of those things float your boat - this is definitely the series for you!
I received a early copy in exchange for a honest review.
I was a big fan of the first two books in this series. I really enjoy the concept of the vamplet and the detective falling in love and saving the world from beasts that are masked as humans. The chemistry stays strong between Danny and Angelica in this book so you won't be disappointed. The story flowed nicely and effortlessly with the first two.
I have to say that the writing continues to get better and better and this book is my favorite in the series so far. There was a ton of flashbacks, since Danny is learning how to use his powers. The flashbacks were my absolute favorite part of the story. Every single flashback gave you so much knowledge that I found my mouth hanging open in shock more than once. It was really interesting to read. My favorite fight scene was at Wrigley field. It was fast paced and easy to imagine. I mean it was intense. My favorite character would have to be.........Angelica. She goes through quite the struggles and I feel that it made her grow and get more complex.
I would recommend this series to any of my paranormal, action packed loving friends.
