Amazing Spider-Man #60 delivers a thrilling showdown between Spidey and the Kingpin, revealing that Wilson Fisk has been the mastermind behind The Brainwasher all along. The battle is intense, and the fallout leaves Peter worse for wear—suffering from double vision and vertigo, a nightmare for someone whose life depends on web-swinging across skyscrapers.

The real emotional weight of the issue comes from Captain Stacy’s brainwashing. Seeing Gwen’s father manipulated into attacking Peter and stealing police files raises the stakes beyond a typical hero-villain fight. Peter has to find a way to stop Kingpin without harming someone who could one day be his father-in-law, adding a deeply personal layer to the conflict.

John Romita Sr.’s artwork is as dynamic as ever, with bold action sequences and expressive character moments. Stan Lee’s storytelling keeps the tension high while balancing Spidey’s physical struggles with his emotional dilemmas.

With an exciting fight, high personal stakes, and a solid cliffhanger, this issue is another strong entry in Spidey’s Silver Age run!

The cover says it all! It's Spider-Man vs Kingpin as we find out that Wilson Fisk was pulling the strings behind The Brainwasher.

Post-battle Peter is left with a serious case of double vision and vertigo, which is exactly what you don't want when your profession is climbing NY skyscrapers, just when he thinks it can't get any worse his potential father in law has been brainwashed into attacking Peter and stealing secret police files. Sometimes it ain't easy being a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

Pertaruhan besar dilakukan Peter Parker.

I really enjoyed this solid issue, full of character development and typical spidey drama with Peter's alter ego actions and decisions putting at risk his personal life and loved ones.

It's true that spidey suffers from too much injuries that he overcomes on will power lately, but overlooking that fact, that's what makes Spider-man stories real and believable. You care for all the supporting characters, they are not mere decorative ones, they are all involved in the plots with a purpose.

We have again the great Romita artwork with a cool cover, standing out the hero and the antagonist clash, without any other details or elements around to distract you.
