In the epic conclusion to the first trilogy in the Saga of the Seven Stars the Krai’kesh, quadruped aliens possessing devastating speed and strength, have surrounded the magical city of Tar Ebon. They have nullified the magic of the mages of the city and initiated a race against time for the Saviors of Tar Ebon and their companions. The queen of Tar Ebon sends the Saviors and their allies on a quest of heroes, a magical journey to gather allies from across the continent. Each hero must use their special powers to overcome challenges as they spread out across the continent. As the final battle for Tar Ebon looms, all hope seems lost. Can the forces of light force back the darkness? Or will the darkness of the alien Krai’kesh swallow all humanity?
Dayne first began writing fantasy at the age of fifteen when he discovered the worlds which fantasy novels could transport him to. Since then, he’s read countless fantasy and science fiction novels from the likes of Robert Jordan, Elizabeth Haydon, Peter F. Hamilton, George R.R. Martin and many others. He has earned a bachelor of business administration from CTU, written a fantasy novel, obtained his customs broker license and started a publishing business.
Dayne lives in southeastern Michigan with his wife and daughter. When he is not working on his Saga of the Seven Stars series and his next novel, you can find him reading, watching television with his wife, biking, walking and playing on the computer or with his daughter.
Edmondson's imaginative tale of swords, sorcery, time travel, space travel, alien military conflict and magic continues on from this particular tale. This trilogy has ended, but it is obvious the main story of himan/alien and human conflict is meant to continue.
Several humans from a current day Earth transcend time and space to arrive at a strange future, where remnants of humanity have fled to another star. Humanity is pursued by evil spiderlike aliens with a taste for human flesh. The alien spider-like creatures wield their own form of magic, in addition to their natural body armor. Their thick carapaces foil most human weapons. Each is capable of killing numerous humans before being killed. Survival for humanity depends on unifying the various tribes and kingdoms. Survival also depends on a very unlikely set of human heroes snatched from their own place and time. Can they master unexpected gifts and skills? In time to help save the remnants of the human race?
By this final volume, readers understand most of the task set forth for these twentieth century people, but the question remains to be seen in this volume: can they do what needs to be done?
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, AND I LOOK FORWARD TO READING MORE OF THE SAGA OF THE SEVEN STARS!
The story continues and the action keeps on coming in book 3 of the series, but for me the real star of the series is the writing of Dayne Edmondson. Everything is silky smooth, the phrases are clean and flowing and nothing is superfluous. Having an easy-to-read style makes every story better and as a bonus THIS story is actually pretty good on its own. The action is good, the characters are fun and the mix of Druid shape shifting magic, modern day heroes, alien monsters and classic knights and rangers type warriors makes for a very cool world. It's this imaginative eclectic mixing of characters and ideas shown by the author that give this somewhat generic war story a fresh and fun feel. I know that the author brings/continue this series in a space setting, and I cannot wait to read it.
