Life is full of surprises. Things are rarely what they seem. We all have secret hidden talents. These are some of the lessons that Miss Peregrine’s students learn, sometimes the hard way. You may not have an ymbryne as your guide, but now you can map your days, record your most peculiar thoughts, and bare your second soul in this beautifully designed journal that’s right out of the world of the peculiars. Features vintage black-and-white photos and quotes from all three books in the best-selling Peculiar Children series. It’s the perfect companion whether you’re traveling peculiardom or caught in a loop.
Hi, I'm Ransom, and I like to tell stories. Sometimes I tell them with words, sometimes with pictures, often with both. I grew up on a farm on the Eastern shore of Maryland and also in a little house by the beach in Englewood, Florida where I got very tan and swam every day until I became half fish. I started writing stories when I was young, on an old typewriter that jammed and longhand on legal pads. When I was a little older I got a camera for Christmas and became obsessed with photography, and when I was a little older still my friends and I came into possession of a half-broken video camera and began to make our own movies, starring ourselves, using our bedrooms and backyards for sets. I have loved writing stories and taking photographs and making movies ever since, and have endeavored to do all three.
I honestly don't know why this is a legitimate book considering you are giving free range to write whatever it is in this journal that you want but it does serve as a good collector's item for a Miss Peregrine fan like myself. I also like the inclusion of some of the photos from the Peculiar Trilogy and under those photos you are given sprinkles of memorable quotes from the Trilogy as well. I definitely would recommend Peculiar fans picking this up as a collector's item or you just want to have your journal peculiarized (that is not a word, I know). Other than that there's not really much to say but that was the shortest read ever because I didn't have to read much.
Meant as a kids book (YA, maybe?) I found myself lost to the fantasy world that Ransom Riggs creates. There is just enough "real world" to keep the story grounded, while still venturing into the fun world of fantasy.
Loved, loved, fell in love with this journal. It has photographs throughout it and I write stories by the photographs on the opposite page. Ah. Amazing
