After a two volume break we return to the Accelerated Research Society/Oscillatory Universe plot. Here, most of the action is reserved for the final few pages providing a thrilling and exciting tease for things to come. Meanwhile, much of the content was focused on wrapping up any lingering issues regarding final preparations, mergers, temporary legion changes, and getting to know each other in the real.
Overall, this was a fantastic volume that showed the creative prowess of Reki Kawahara for the Accelerated World. The numerous new characters and the personalities and appearances they brought were entertaining, fun, and enjoyable to have around. The interactions of such characters with our favorite Negabu characters was wonderful, memorable, and fantastic. And lastly, the potential for major action these characters have is high and the tease provided show that they will all be vital and necessary for the battle to come.
One more thing, I am glad that Kawahara isn’t afraid to allow the more middle of the ground tier Burst Linkers have some relevant and meaningful role in the story and doesn’t only require level 9 burst linkers to be the end all be all solution to every plot. The team aspect to the legion constantly and consistently makes this stand out in the action genre.
Another volume of Accel World and the story has been continuously going forward into interesting directions. This time seems to be the prelude to a major clash which ends in such a cliffhanger, so for readers that have gone all the way here.. it will be a harsh wait until the next one. Fantastic overall.
So... not much happens on this one... it’s a prologue before a massive fight that could have been done in 30 pages... no idea what is going on with the cover either, 0 relation to the story... overall weird volume
Lots of new characters introduced, and the action was minimal. Whole book was meant to fill out the story and push them to the big fight, and yet despite the lack of action I still couldn't put it down. Can't wait to hit 21
