Rate this book
Felix Jameson is working hard to get her outback hospitality business off the ground. Building cabins, leading trail rides and enticing tourists means she hasn’t much time for distractions—and that includes romance. But when she meets Josie, a drifter who picks up casual work as she goes, Felix is intrigued and attracted. Josie asks Felix to board her horse, Flame, and Felix is delighted. Not only can she use the extra money, but it means she will see a lot more of Josie. Felix finds Josie fits in well into her life, and for the solitary Felix there’s finally the possibility of romance. But there’s something suspicious about Flame, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a valuable stolen racehorse. Felix knows she is falling hard for Josie, but is Josie all she seems, or is she mixed up in shady dealings?

Fenced-In Felix is another very good book in the Girl Meets Girl series. I liked everything about it. The setting of Queensland's outback is again, just like in Not-So-Straight Sue, very well described, and it plays a nice role in the narrative. I could picture living there quite well. The main characters are very real and down-to-earth people. The two past stories protagonists are nicely blended in this plot without being forced. There is even a promising secondary character that can continue this lovely series. Last but not least, the entire series is accompanied by very appealing covers nicely based on the setting and characters, but this one really is excellent. I am looking forward to the next book by Cheyenne Blue.

Today, I’ve finished Cheyenne Blue’s « Fenced-In Felix » (Girl Meets Girl Series Book 3). I was offered the book in exchange of an honest review, so …
Here it is !!!

Cheyenne Blue masters in this concept of standalone novels with interconnecting characters … and, seriously, I really love it … I’m keen on her work. This series of hers is a good way to read some great novels independantly (if you are not a series fan) and, in the same time, to have some news about the characters you loved in the previous books, and this, without having to wait the release of some real sequels about them.

I’m not ashamed to confess that I’m a fan of « Never-Tied Nora » ( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... ) and « Not-So-Straight Sue » ( https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... ) so I was delighted to be « reunited » with the 2 previous star couples & spend quite a bit of time with Nora & Geraldine, but also, even better (and longer), with Sue & Moni (and Ripper !! LOL) …

The novel contains just a lil sexy moment but that’s all (it’s nothing compared to the previous novels) … But it’s a good thing I think ‘cause it would have rotten the novel … Maybe it’s due to a huge evolution in Cheyenne Blue’s writting but this book has a more mature (& really less girly) story than the others in the series … Let me say that I’m 100% OK with that … ‘cause there’s still a good sense of humour, a romance with a dramatic side coupled with some suspense about the Flame mystery & an adventurous behaviour from Felix during their trip in Southern Australia …

On the + side in the story (which is told from Felix’s perspective), there’s also :
° the same 3D aspect for all the characters,
° the vivid descriptions of the Australian outback landscape, the horses,
° the age gap between Felix and Josie (not a huge one but it makes Felix a mature woman and I LOVE mature ladies)
and ….
° Tess, the rescued dog …
All this makes « Fenced-In Felix » my favorite novel of this series I deeply love & that I have, of course, added to my « must be re-read » - list …

FYI , you can meet all the lovely characters of the series (and some of the secondary ones) in the 4th book (and I hope not the last one …) of the "Girl Meets Girl" series => « Almost-Married Moni » (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... )

Personally I recommend the reading of this novel « Fenced-In Felix » (but also the entire series), so … Don’t be shy guys and gals, grab your copy and make your own opinion …

Enjoy !!!!

Recently, I had the chance to read the ‘Girl Meets Girl’ series by Cheyenne Blue. I’d read the first book in the series,’Never-Tied Nora’ a while ago and loved it, but hadn’t got around to reading the rest. Actually, my face is doing that ‘oops’ thing right now because I didn’t know that there was more to the series until a little while back. But I rectified that situation and binge-read ‘Not-So-Straight Sue’, ‘Fenced-In Felix’, and ‘Almost-Married Moni’ and the whole set of these stories is really, really good.
I love slipping a metaphorical passport into my pocket and travelling with a character to Boston, or Liverpool, or some other amazing place as an author racks up our frequent flyer miles. It’s part of the enjoyment of reading. But there’s nothing like reading a novel set in your own country. Cheyenne Blue writes the Australian landscape beautifully, particularly the Outback. Yes, that’s a capital ‘O’ there. The Outback is a place, yet not a place. It is a destination, but you don’t know you’ve reached it until you’re there. That’s because it’s not just something to look at; it’s a feeling. It’s a philosophy. It’s organic. I admit my idea of the Outback is my front lawn when it hasn’t seen rain for a day, so any experience I have of that incredible place beyond *makes vague sweeping gesture with arm* is negligible and I should probably revoke my citizenship. Yet, I feel an amazing connection to it, and I know it’s through books like Cheyenne Blue’s. In these novels, particularly ‘Fenced-In Felix’, the place, the space, the land, the ‘everything’ is written as one of the characters. Cheyenne's people—Sue, Moni, and other townsfolk, her plot points, the things that move stories along are impacted upon by the Outback. The reason I mentioned ‘Fenced-In Felix’ in particular, is because I feel that Felix had the most connection to the land around her. You get the sense that Felix’s soul depends on its existence. The descriptions of her speaking about her connection are like paintings.
I loved these stories. They’re the kind that make you smile at the beginning, cheer characters on in the middle, and grin at the end, and then dive into Google because what the hell is a billy, if not a person who doesn’t like to be called William?
Highly recommended

"There's no love without trust, Felicity. How can there be?"

Fenced-In Felix is the third book in the Girl Meets Girl series this time featuring Felix Jameson and her campground and trail riding operation at Jayboro Outstation in the Queensland outback. Her days are busy thanks to the influx of tourists (I loved the term grey nomads) sent by Josie, a new barmaid in Worrindi. Despite their different backgrounds and lifestyles, Felix is attracted to Josie and the feeling is mutual. When Josie asks Felix to board her horse, one which bears a striking resemblance to a missing thoroughbred, Felix begins to question Josie's motives and agenda. Can she trust this drifter she hardly knows with her heart?

Cheyenne Blue is a natural storyteller. It is easy to fall into the rhythms of everyday life in a region of the world few of us have visited. Felix has her feet planted firmly on her parents land. She is solid, stolid even and determined to make a life for herself with hard work and determination. Josie has no fond memories from her past, has made a life for herself drifting from one menial job to another. They have little in common except for their love of horses, roughing it in the wild and of course their attraction to one another.

I liked how the author portrays their differences turning them into strengths on which to build a relationship. Where Felix is reserved, Josie is outgoing and spontaneous. Felix is a planner, Josie takes chances. Felix admires Josie's innovative ideas to help her grow her business. Josie longs for the stability she sees in a life with Felix. In the end, there can be no solid relationship without trust.

Yea, loving this series - a real binge read. Superb. A bit of a brick wall ending but book four sorts that out. Ideally should be read in sequence.

Although this is book three in a series I feel it can be read as a standalone. In fact, in some ways I wish I had read it as such, or perhaps let more time lapse between this story and the last so the details weren’t so fresh in my mind. The reason I say that is because when I first met Felix in Not-So-Straight-Sue, she was outgoing, made no bones about her attraction to Sue, and gladly popped Sue’s Sapphic cherry. However, in this story, Felix is standoffish and has no clue how to flirt, her words. Granted three years have lapsed since book 2, so anything could’ve happened to transform her personality.

I was excited to read about Felix’s new campground and amenities, and while some of the content is about getting her business up and running, the greater plot revolves around horses. Not only trail rides but also the mystery of a missing race horse. At times the story dragged for me, however that could be because I’m not a huge fan of horses or horse-racing.

Josie is an interesting character, and even though there’s chemistry between the two leading ladies, I’d not call this a romance. A slow burn perhaps, but even the ending didn’t have that heartwarming ‘awe they got their happy ever after’ feel to it.

The highlight of this story for me was when the characters from the first two books came to visit. Oh, and sitting around the campfire eating damper. I felt like I was there, could taste the melted butter and jam.

I enjoy this story overall and have no qualms about recommending the entire series to others. On a final note, as with any book published by Ylva publishing, the story is exceptionally well polished.

Set in the hot, arid summer of Australia’s wild outback, this book is the third installment in the brilliant Cheyenne Blue’s Girl Meets Girl series. While each book can be read as a standalone story, this drama is of Felix who was introduced in book two, Not-So-Straight Sue. This tale was wonderful. The backgrounds and settings of this book are illustrated with words so well put together I swear I could almost feel the heat of the scorching sun, see the stars under the vast midnight black skies and hear the call of one horse to another and the sound of hoof beats as the horses galloped along the trails as well as the birds cries and the drone of the insects. I felt like I was a part of the saga and it was a pure gift to the senses…

The characters in this tale are complex and it is easy to relate to them. Felix is a strong, quiet and gentle soul who had a well defined set of morals and ethics with a passion for her land. She is building a campground on her property both as a source of income and as a way to share the wild spaces with others who won’t likely see it otherwise.

Josie is a younger woman with a heart of gold. She’s perky, quirky, so full of life and energy that its hard not to like her from the start. She lives a nomadic life, taking a job here and there as she travels around the giant country. Its after taking a job at the local watering hole that she meets Felix. As they become friends, they are thrown into a myriad of feelings, emotions and actions as well as a mystery and crisis that threaten to tear them apart before they have even begun.

While all three books are fantastic I believe Felix and Josie’s adventure is my favourite. However that doesn’t mean I wont be reading all of them again and again.

This one was definitely different from the first two in the fact that the gals from 1 and 2 aren’t in it as much. They do make appearances since Felix has befriended the Girl Meets Girl..girls, but they are not a major part of Felix’s story. I was also really intrigued by the added mystery to this book that the other 2 didn’t have. And maybe that’s because there weren’t as many characters to draw from, so there had to be a good story going on in conjunction with Felix’s developing feelings and relationship with Josie.

I really enjoyed reading about these two women, and for ending up in a really messed up situation, I thought they both handled it in a way that would be expected by anyone. There was some missed opportunities at just asking the other what was going on, rather than making assumptions, as well as some overblown situations, but it felt pretty realistic to what was going on and I couldn’t really picture anyone behaving with 100 clarity and aplomb in the uncomfortable position they were all in.

As usual with this series, there is an HEA, one I really enjoyed. I liked how Felix and Josie’s relationship progressed and I thought it felt really natural. I’m always a fan of Cheyenne’s stories and writing 

We got to know a little bit about Felix in the last “Girl Meets Girl” book in the series but to recap… Felix owns a outback ranch where she provides her guest with various accommodation options and also leads Horse Trails to give her guest the whole “Outback Experience”. Josie is blowing through town; she’s the ultimate transient and is working in the Pub in next town to make some money before she heads off again. Josie has a horse in South Australia that needs a home and she convinces Felix to take on her thoroughbred. As time goes by both Felix and Josie develop feelings for one another but Felix sense’s something isn’t right with the story Josie has been feeding her about her horse, Flame. Can you really start a relationship when you think its based on a lie?

Fenced-In Felix is the third book in the “Girl Meets Girl” series by Cheyenne Blue. The author clearly writes with ease because the story line doesn’t drag at any point and her descriptions of characters and their surrounds is flawless. I am living in Australia at the moment and have to say Cheyenne paints a pretty yet very accurate picture of the towns and cities down under. I almost feel myself being pulled into the story more because it feel more realistic.

I liked both of the main protagonists and really enjoyed the main characters from the pervious books making an appearance. I still love Sue and Moni from Not-So-Straight Sue (Book 2)… they just make me smile. I was left wanting more from Felix in the last novel so I was delighted when this landed on my kindle and I wasn’t disappointed. Felix is strong and honest but she’s also reserved and likes her space and you begin to see her second-guessing her feelings for Josie and her vulnerability comes out and that’s when she really shines. I took a while to warm up to Josie, with her flirtatious nature she almost overpowers Felix in few flirtatious conversations but as I read on I discovered that it was actually part of he charm and by then i was rooting for the couple to make it.

I really hope this series doesn’t end her because there is so many avenues Cheyenne could take the next story along with some already delightful secondary characters. Maybe the Aussie foursome could head back to the US for Moni and Sue’s wedding? I’m sure Nora and Ger would be there too.

On another note i would love to know if Felix’s Ranch is an actual place in Queensland? I’d be booking my next trip straight away…

Great Novel.

My second book by this author and I really enjoyed this one. Felix was a character in her previous book that I was intrigued by and was very glad got her own novel. A love story, a mystery and a on the road book. The outback in Australia always fascinates me and this one didn't disappoint. It's also very nice to see characters from her other stores. It's a nice world she's created and this latest story incorporates a horse caper that was fun and rewarding. I would recommend this to anyone that likes romance, mystery and adventure.

Felix and Josie are the epitome of “opposites attract.” Felix is quiet, steady, and has lived in the same house her whole life. Josie is so full of life that she’s almost incandescent, moving from place to place and never settling anywhere for long. The chemistry burns slowly between them, building in a way that’s satisfying as they move from acquaintances to friends to lovers.

Felicity Jameson—Felix—is struggling to turn the land she inherited from her parents into a viable living. With horseback rides, camp sites and two new cabins that have drained her savings, she’s hoping to attract tourists seeking a genuine Outback experience to her sprawling Jayboro Station.

Building the business takes a huge amount of time and energy. Felix tells herself she doesn’t have room in her life for a relationship. When she encounters the flirtatious and curvy new barmaid at the town pub, though, she can’t help wishing things were otherwise.

Josie Beccari has spent years moving from town to town across Australia, picking up what work she can. Her job tending bar at the Commercial is just another gig, until she meets Felix. She’s strongly drawn to the rangy, independent owner of Jayboro Station. At the same time, she recognizes that Felix may be able to help her with a practical problem. She asks Felix to board her horse Flame, a retired thoroughbred no longer fit for racing.

Felix senses there’s something strange about this arrangement, but between her attraction to Josie and the money the woman is offering, she agrees to Josie’s plan. Although Felix is wary, the two women become friends. The more time she spends in Josie’s presence, the more Felix wants her as a lover, but she remains unsure that she can trust the mercurial, mop-headed drifter.

Fenced-In Felix is the third book in Cheyenne Blue’s Girl Meets Girl series. Felix appears as a minor character in the previous volume, Not-So-Straight Sue. She’s Sue’s first lesbian lover since her teenage years, when Sue decided she was straight. Seen through Sue’s eyes, Felix seems mature, sexy and self-assured.

In this novel, Felix comes across as younger, more insecure and more vulnerable. Almost all her energy is consumed by her work at Jayboro Station. Though she’s comfortable acknowledging her sexual preferences, she’s surprisingly skittish about relationships. Still, I felt I understood her motivations and her fears.

Josie is more of a cipher. One wonders what set her on her drifter’s path. I didn’t really get a sense of who she was, though I could see why Felix would find her attractive.

Like the other two novels in the series, Fenced-In Felix is a classic romance. Indeed, it’s almost a sweet romance. There’s a strong undercurrent of sensuality in the book, but the actual love scenes are far more abbreviated and understated than I’d normally expect from Cheyenne Blue. I guess she is writing for a different audience than in her Blue Woman series of erotic stories.

While the author may stint on the sex, she doesn’t hold back in describing the setting. Her love of the Outback shines in the luminous pictures she paints of the land’s harsh beauty.

I think I enjoyed this book more because I’d already read Never-Tied Nora and Not-So-Straight Sue. Nora, Sue, Geraldine and Moni all show up in this book, for a happy reunion. It was great fun seeing them again, and appreciating how their relationships had matured. At the same time, the two couples from the previous novels serve to throw Felix’s uncertainties into sharp relief.

If you are looking for well-written lesbian romance with a strong sense of place, I can recommend Fenced-In Felix.

Cheyenne Blue's Fenced in Felix is a worthy successor to Never-Tied Nora and Not-So-Straight Sue. We first met Felix as Sue's initial partner in her journey out of denial. In that encounter Felix was an almost too good to be true sauve and sexy rancher/cowgirl (though without the cows), in this novel we get to meet her properly and even learn that her full name is Felicity!

Felix's character is well drawn, as is that of her love interest Josie, a restless traveller and another horse lover. Josie is reticent about her plans and background but somehow owns a retired thoroughbred racehorse; suspicious much?

While the plot is at times a bit overly-dramatic, the text is well written and the section with Nora, Ger, Moni & Sue is glorious and not all all forced, nicely tying together the three books in the series. Not-So-Straight Sue is still my favourite of the three, mainly because, unlike this book, it doesn't rely on external drama to dive the plot. I would, however, strongly recommend this book to anyone who has read and enjoyed the preceding two in the series and of course recommend the series in its entirety to anyone; male or female, gay or straight.

I received an ARC from Ylva Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed both of the preceding books in Blue's Girl meets Girl series, and Fenced-in Felix did not disappoint. This story can be read independent of the first two books in the series, but I think you will appreciate it more if you are familiar with the other characters who make prominent guest appearances. The lead characters, Felicity aka Felix and Josie, are charming in their imperfections and believable. The storyline itself features something of a mystery and an unexpected little adventure that I thought was delightful. I will say that Felix sat on the proverbial fence about how to handle her feelings for Josie longer than I thought necessary or advisable. I also wished to have had a little more time with them as a happy resolved couple in the end. Hopefully there will be a fourth installment in the series where we can catch a glimpse of Josie and Felix. Either way it is an entertaining story and well worth the read.

This is another beautiful romance, set in the outback of Australia. It's the third book in the Girl-meets-girl-series.
In this story it's about Felix, we met her in the second book, and Josie. I love this two girls, I can see some resemblance to me in both persons. There's the grounded, honest and a little shy Felix, who doesn't have much experience with women who she's attracted to and who lived her whole life in Jayboro. On the other side the straight forward Josie with her heart on her tongue, who is traveling the whole country, to wherever she finds work. And always after a few months she's looking for a new challenge.
They were drawn to each other from the beginning. When Josie visited Felix in Jayboro, it's the first time in her live, that she thinks about to settle down. Could it be with Felix in Jayboro? Is Felix looking for the same kind of relationship she wants? But when she brings her horse Flame to stay at Jayboro, the twist and turns and mystery begins.
Felix is conflicted about her feelings for Josie and the lies, she has found out, that Josie has told her about Flame. Can she trust her again? Can she overcome her insecurity, doubts and her pride? Will the traveling girl really be ready to stay with her in the outback?
When the two of them find the keys to the solution of the racehorse theft, they have to spend some days togheter. Maybe they will find a way to theyr hearts again.
It's a beautiful story about love, trust and friendship, and the not everytime easy way to find it. The mistery of the missed racehorse adds some tension and excitement. I also loved very much that the main characters of the first and second book had their presence in this book too.
It's another lovely story from Cheyenne Blue. I'm looking forward to her next book.

In the third book of the series we go with Felix, who owns an outback camping and trail riding ground. We met her in the previous book where she had a short fling with Sue.
Being a true outback person she is reserved and careful.
So when she meets Josie, she needs time to acknowledge her attraction and act accordingly. The suspicions about Josie's horse "Flame" don't help in that department.
While we see the relatively monotonous life in the outback, Josie and her horse bring some variety in Felix's life. The mystery around "Flame" brings her even to leave her homestead. The vast distances you have to travel are somewhat incomprehensible for a European, where the next big city is mostly an hour away, not an overnight ride or even flight.
Being on her own for a very long time, Felix can't just jump into a relationship with a "tramp". So the lies Josie told around "Flame" almost snuffed the kindling love between them. Finally (quite literally) Felix sees the light.
I have never been to Australia or even the outback, but for me this book - as the one before - seems to portray pretty good the life in the rural areas of Down Under. If you expect some fast paced action or intense drama, this is not your book. It's quiet tones make it much more authentic.

I'm partial to Australian books and movies because there is a quirkiness and bluntness to them that is unique and entertaining. I learnt some new things about Australia in Fenced-In Felix, for example, budgies are native, wild birds and a ute is a pick-up truck but I wasn't blown away by this novel. Felix runs and owns a farm with cabins and a camping ground in the outback. She meets and becomes friends with Josie who works in the nearest town's hotel bar. Josie asks if she can stable her horse on Felix's farm but all is not what it seems when the horse arrives.

The plot was quite interesting and the mystery kept me reading but I found Felix to be an utterly boring character. Usually I quite like the aloof, silent type of character but I really just didn't connect. Josie was a little more interesting but because the story is told in first person from Felix's point of view, insight into her thought processes was limited.

On the whole it was a nice enough read.

Unsurprisingly, I loved this.
Cheyenne Blue + Horses = Happy.
So, Ms Blue, can we have some more of this please?
I'd love to find out what happens next.
Not just between the MCs but with Flame, with the business, with EVERYTHING.
Take me on some more rides in the outback of Australia.
Tell me stories about the campers at Felix's site.
Let them have a baby. Or a foal. Or both.
I would absolutely love a follow up to this.

This is a lovely standalone novel about one of an intertwined group of friends. It was easy to read this one without knowing the characters from books 1 and 2, and I'm looking forward to reading the first two.

The title character Felix is a gloriously independent outback Australian woman. She loves her space, loves her time alone on the campsite she runs. Her group of friends adore her and give her room. She's capable, intuitive at reading people, skilled on horseback, willing to fight, and certain of her ability to get through life. I loved her quickly, felt for her prickliness and the walls around her while really enjoying the life she's built for herself.

When free-spirited nomad Josie moves into town, Felix is at once attracted to her and wary of her. The development of their friendship and the long, slow burn of their romance are highlights of the book. The story kept me engaged, the writing is direct and traditional and the characters are believably people I have met. They're gorgeous women - imperfect, supportive, friendly, awkward, every day. There's something that feels so real about spending time with them, and about the romance.

The horses and the riding were another highlight. Every time the pair of them went out on a trail together they were such a joy. I loved seeing how they respected one another. Felix is not really introspective, so it's delightful when you see people through her eyes, see what she admires without her needing to lay it out.

And best of all, the outback. This is an author who knows the land she's writing about and you can feel the whole way through.

Fenced in felix is the third book in the Girl Meets Girl series. It follows Felix who we met briefly in the second book.

She runs a business in the outback where she's trying to attract tourists to stay in her cabins and campground. I'm fascinated by the way people's lives are in these places. Living in a large city I can't imagine not being able to just pop to the shop for whatever you want. I liked the glimpse we got of Felix in the previous book so I was looking forward to reading her story.

When she meets Josie they are immediately draw to each other. Josie is a drifter, usually moving from place to place. She has a horse which Felix allows to stay in her stables and this is when Felix begins to question the things Josie has told her. What will she do when she suspects Flame might be a famous racehorse which has been stolen? Is Josie just using her to hide the horse?

I enjoyed this story, there's an element of mystery around the horse which plays a big part in whether these two women will be together. We get to see characters from the previous books and I loved the setting.

I liked this book and was happy to see that Felix was doing well. I kind of felt she was treated badly in the last book. I wanted this book to show that she was moving along and was happy. I know she is just a character in a book but she stayed with me a long time after-even more than the main characters. I also like series(this is the 3rd book) since I feel I get to know the characters. This one is all about Felix with a bit of a mystery as well. I thought the story got stronger as it went along. It held my attention and I like that it was a longer book so there was more time to develop the story. I hate when books are so short that the characters go from 0 to 60- a slower build up is better in my opinion. The mystery about the racehorse kept me guessing and wondering if Josie was trustworthy or not. A good read and worth your time.

Really enjoyed this. Loved the Aussie outback setting, which sings with authenticity and love of the bush. Very much enjoyed both main characters, along with the page time devoted to Sue and Moni from the last book who made great supporting characters in this one. Racehorse plot was well done and kept me turning pages. As a horselover, I also particularly appreciated the accuracy of the horse stuff.

It's definitely not necessary to have read the preceding books to enjoy this. I have loved this series and hope it continues.

This book is part of a three book series to date. The series is called Girl Meets Girl, I haven't read the first one and I wish I had but I've now read 2 and 3. They can be read individually but a lot of references will make more sense if you've read the previous 2. But the author explains enough so yes it can be read as a stand alone novel. I really enjoyed this one as there is a mystery to solve and there are a lot of dead ends. It's really hard to put down as it catches you from the first to the last word. It is really well written and funny in some places especially when they are cooking crocodile. Read you'll understand and be probably giggling away. Enjoy, I did.

Throughly enjoyed this story. Loved that the other characters from the series were interwoven. Would love a fourth to see happy ending for them all and what might happen to Flame. I'll be looking for more stories from Cheyenne.

Finally able to gobble up Cheyenne Blue's Girl Meets Girl series:

1. Never-Tied Nora
2. Not-So-Straight Sue
3. Fenced-In Felix
4. Almost-Married Moni (a companion short to Book 2's Moni/Sue)

First off, they're truly fun to read! All in all, a light, quirky, and feel-good romance. The titles alone should urge you to read them.  I love them!

"Never-Tie Nora" has a bit of a Romeo & Juliet-esque feel to it (warring families, forbidden love); I simply ADORE Moni in "Not-So-Straight Sue" (& brilliant back story of Sue's; I didn't expect the truth behind her leaving her home to live in the UK! Wow!); and who doesn't wanna explore the Aussie outback with the totally sensual pair, Felix/Josie (classic romance!), in "Fenced-In Felix," eh?  And awww...I absolutely enjoyed "Almost-Married Moni" - I thought it was brilliant for Blue to wrap the series with a delightful story to commemorate Australia's recent marriage equality legalisation. Can't get more wonderful than that, can it?

So, Girl Meets Girl series will make you feel all fluffy & tingly inside, that's for sure!  Give it a read!

Fenced-In Felix by Cheyenne Blue

Fenced-in Felix is the third book in the Girl Meet Girl series. This book depicts Felix who runs a ranch/campground in the outback. We first meet Felix in book two and then explore more of her life in book three.

The book was a little slow in the beginning but after the first 50 pages, the characters take over and drive the story. The author does a great job with character development. The two main characters are Josie and Felix. Josie is a drifter who is working in the small village bar and Felix is running the ranch/campground by herself. I found it quite interesting how the author develops the differences in the two characters and how they comprise an extremely powerful team when joining forces.

Although this is a love story, the author provides us with a mystery in the story. The slow, gradual development of the story adds in the buildup of the romance between the two women. The mystery is an underlining plot that grows to an eventual eruption of feelings and legal proceedings.

During their travels in searching for the answer to the mysterious puzzle, Felix and Josie meet another woman, Pen, who is exploring the same mystery from her location in another part of Australia. I can only wonder if the author is setting up a fourth book with the introduction of this new character.

All in all, I have enjoyed reading the adventures of the women in this series. I have ranked this with 4-1/2 stars out of a possible 5 stars and suggest if readers haven’t read the other books in this series that they do so. However, it is not a requirement as each book is nicely developed so that it can be a stand alone read.

I received an advance reading copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
