Dragons of Telera #1

Annora's Dragon

Annora’s Dragon

Annora is not the average Letera woman. While most are worried about how to catch a husband, raise a family, or simply survive, Annora cares only about killing dragons. When she encounters Elian, a handsome stranger who takes an interest in her, she treats him just like any other man – with contempt. However, she soon realizes that he is more than just another man – he is a competitor.

Elian is very open and honest, but it is clear that he is withholding information that could sway Annora’s perception of him. As he takes it upon himself to protect her from what he considers a reckless life style, Elian becomes both protective and possessive of her.

Elian may have saved her, but his motives are unclear. It doesn’t sound like he is out to kill, so why is he also on the dragon’s trail?

About the author

Lisa Daniels

Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.

In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.

The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.

Annora is a dragon slayer and seeking revenge for the destruction of a village by a dragon. Elian finds a wounded Annora and tries to help her. Annora is surprised by what she discovers. I enjoyed the story. It moved a bit slow in spots.

Read this one in just a few short hours. It was good from start to finish. Poor girl can't catch a break. Talk about a streak of bad luck. Guess it could have been worse if he Elain wasn't there. They are both searching for the same dragon, but for two different reasons. He's trying to help it while she is trying to kill it. Love when the damsel is the better then most of the men, or when they are underestimated. She shows them a think or two.

The adult rating is kinda on the low side due to they do the deed but nothing in any detail. She gave up a little too fast in my opinion. They become intimate, wakes up in morning, theyt alk and she gives in, giving up what she has done for herself for someone she barely knows, the end.

Wish there was more to the story but it was a short story.

Could have been better

The synopsis of this is why I chose to read this book. However, it didn't flow very well. The author had some very good descriptive scenes but there was still a lot left out. The use of "youn woman" and "dragon slayer" instead of the FMC name or pronoun was quite annoying. There was not enough exposition leading to the FMC and MMC becoming involved. Once they did, that is when the author filled in the backstory for the FMC. All in all, the story just needs a good re-write to make it cleaner.

This dragon shifter book was a bit different mostly as the leading character was a dragon huntress. I did find a few grammar errors, but mostly it was well edited. The plot did seem to dawdle and then rush inconsistently at times but overall was well thought out and the scenes were described nicely.

I'd say give it a read if you like dragon shifter books but are looking for something a bit different and have the time.

Annora, dragon hunter...

Gave this book 3 cups of hot java, ☕☕☕. Nicely written, lot of actions with lot of characters Annora had come across after she lost everything, trained herself to be a dragon hunter/slayer until she meets and falls in love with a dragon shifter. You won't find lot of sexual actions if you're looking for some romantic fix.

Loved it!!

This is a great story about the dragon hunte and her dragon shifter. I was hooked from the beginning, a female dragon Hunter (while sad) a great heroine. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more.

A great dragon series with handsome dragon shifters and the strong and determined women they fall for. I read the series out of order but had no problems following along.

If you like shifter romances in a more historical/ dungeons and dragons setting, then you will enjoy this series.
