Kassidy is out to destroy the man she believes is responsible for the deaths of her parents, siblings and her best friend. She gets her opportunity when she connects with members of a Black Hat type organization filled with societal do-gooders. They set her up with a new identity and she does her homework to ingratiate herself with her target, Tarek Marshall. She finds him at a restaurant and dangles the goods and he takes a very tiny bite of the bait. He's a man that can have anything and anyone that he wants so she'll have to think fast to get past his reluctance to engage with her.
They talk and she asks for a job but Tarek knows there is more to her story and he's determined to find out the answers. Giving her just a few minutes of his time and before he makes his leave he gives her a card to call personnel about employment. Sensing that she needs to do something drastic she follows his limo to the airport, beats him there and pretends to be a damsel in distress. He sees through her but is intrigued to what her end game might be so he allows her to board his private jet.
Tarek hasn't survived this long to be fooled by another woman. Kassidy thinks she's the predator, but she is actually the prey. This is an edge of your seat thriller complete with lies, half-truths, backdoor deals and double crosses.
I gave this book 4 stars because Kassidy was a strong woman -- however, a pivotal moment occurred and what she didn't do didn't feel authentic to me given the circumstances.
Lastly ... maybe it's just me ... but, there was a huge elephant in the room (I won't tell you) that no other review I've read thus far has even addressed it. Even the characters in the book talked about its weirdness and when you get near the end of the book -- it gets even weirder. That is all I will say about it.
Now ... somebody else please read this book and PM me to discuss.
I don't know what I just read. Like I really don't. This was the first by this author and my last. Kassidy AKA Angela Brown was annoying. I could not keep up to who she was. One minute she was the do gooder and the next she was this adventure seeking woman. Like pick one. One minute she didn't have a lot of lovers and the next she was snagging motorcycle guys. There were several typos. The one that irked me the most is when Tarek called her by her real name. It confused me. Did he really know who she was or not.
Second thing that bothered me was her "best friend" Clarissa like how was she your best friend if she was a grown woman and you were 6? Like come on.
Ughh this book pissed me off something fierce. I freaking can't with this book. Kassidy got in my nerves to the very end and so did Tarek. But nothing pissed me off like Kassidy.
I will say I was intrigued on how the book will end so that's why I kept reading and that's why she got 3 stars.
This was Tarek and Kassandra's story. This was a romantic thriller with lots of twists and turns. This was a really great read and a page turner. I read it one sitting. It had me perched on the edge of my seat. The story is fast paced and full of action. I loved Kassandra's dare devil spirit. She was at times absolutely fearless in her pursuit of ruining Tarek for the perceived wrong doing she thought he had done to her family.
If you like a good suspenseful read then this is the book for you. I would highly recommend this book.
Tarek Marshall is and Alpha who has a mean streak caused by pain over many ears. Kassidy Turner/Angela Brown is a young woman who every intent was to destroy Tarek, by any means necessary. However, since both of these people are Thrill junkies, their plans changed. They found out what each had really been searching for was the other. Tarek is apart of a powerful family whose past is very dark. He later discovers most of his life the secrets were ones that forever changed his life. Kassidy/Angela learned that in quest to destroy Tarek, many secrets would lead her down a path of espionage and deceit. The story at times has you riveted to the pages, gasping and cringing at the events within. I loved the story, but the ending had me wanting more than what happened. In the end will Tarek and Kassidy be able to forgive and forge ahead with their lives? Will their decisions forever have them on the run? Good read...not a five star for me because of the ending.
All the nopes that ever noped. Non consensual sex. Heroine tells hero no. Holds a knife to his neck. He fucks her anyway. I don't care of they've had consensual sex before. Just NO.
I actually finished this one the first time a few days ago and because I read it so fast I wanted to re-read it to ensure that I didn't miss anything important. So let's start with an overview of the story. Kassie is a young lady that has an extremely troubled past and as a result of it, she has participated in risque behavior to fill what has been missing since she tragically lost her family. One thing and one thing only fuels her need and desire and that is to get revenge on the parties that she has deemed responsible for their untimely demise. Tarek is the man upon whom she has decided to focus her quest for revenge. There are so many twists, turns, drama-filled emotions that are pulled from the reader that I was left feeling drained at the end of this story. Now there was a bit of unpleasantness in the beginning and while it could possibly be seen as a turn-off I would never presume to dictate to someone how they should get off in the bedroom. Both of these two individuals for lack of a better word are completely broken. I will say that I am not an advocate for individuals who clearly have issues that they need to deal with themselves prior to getting into a relationship but alas this isn't the real world and it just works for these two. Tarek is a part of one of the most dysfunctional families that I've ever read about and that is truly saying something because I read A LOT!!! Now while there were some editing issues it DID NOT take away from the flow of the story or the overall emotional responses that were evoked as a result of the dynamic pen game of Ms. Sienna. The characters were well-developed and kept me hooked from beginning to end. I would like to have seen more of Tarek's brothers and their ultimate reasons for being so inherently evil. Maybe even more of a glimpse of the mother and how she handled the obvious strife and animosity that existed among her boys would have also been a nice turn. Even more so I was eager to see if Tarek picked up the search for his biological mother or even had plans to pursue it in the future. I definitely wanted to see what transpired between Kassie & Tarek when they got back together. I unequivocally see room for a sequel if Ms. Sienna is so inclined. The point that I'm trying to make here is that the author left me wanting MORE!!! Overall this was a good read. It doesn't outdo the Battaglia series(I'm biased I know LOL) but it is a good solid read and I definitely recommend it to others that are equally enamored with Ms. Mynx's writing style. So there is nothing really left to say but GREAT JOB Ms. Mynx. Keep them coming! I'm really looking forward to seeing what else you will push yourself to create because I honestly don't think that we've seen even 1/4 of what you are capable of producing!!!
I didn't like it. There were too many grammatical errors. The author has been writing for years, I would know because I have plenty of her books. The authors use of "to" and "too" really drove me insane. The book was confusing. It seemed rushed, the plot was twisted & confusing. At one point in the book, the author made the mistake of calling the hero, Tarek another name-Kaleb. I knew what she meant Tarek, but where did she get the name Kaleb from. That annoyed me. The heroine. I understood her motive but she annoyed me too. This book was just... I didn't like it. At all.
Omg this book was so good! What a way to wrap the year up with a bang! I stayed up all day and night reading this book and I just finished at almost seven in the morning. Sienna Mynx did her thing!
Sienna Mynx never disappoints. "BOSS" was an excellent read. The story of Kassidy and Tarek was a rollercoaster ride with so many twists and turns that it left one dizzy! Thanks for another great story!
This story had me on a roller coaster! I kept trying to guess as to who the actual villains were and trying to understand the relationship between Tarek and his adoptive parents. It was sad that they treated him the way that they did. He had been in that family since he was two. What a shame! Anyway, I am glad that he and Kassidy got their HEA.
So many issues with this book but the concept is there
Ok, so this book is more along the lines of 3 1/2 stars more than four. I will explain everything.
We have the rich but dysfunctional Mr. Tarek Marshall. Born in an orphanage in Russaia but raised by a family of Texas oil tycoon. Tarek has always been on a mission to protect his family, that was until he is introduced to Angela Brown, aka Kassandra Turner. Working for an environmental protection organization, Kassidy wants to expose the Marshall family but for more personal reasons. There were so many twist and turns, your spends at every corner.
In place of releasing another book that many of her fans anticipated, Ms. Mynx decided to drop this book unexpectedly. While it's not what I wanted, I'm completely ok with a new book release. Now with that being said, some of her "fans" were not too happy about the release of a non Battaglia book. Again, for me, I am ok with the long releases for the Battaglia series, it keeps the story and characters alive a little longer lol
Ms. Mynx was sent some very nasty emails about not dropping Bella mafia, Boss being "messy", etc. While I get the concerns about not getting the book they wanted. I didn't understand actually emailing an author about what they should do with their work and work load. I don't get that. So to find out what the drama was about, I finally got around to reading Boss.
I will say there were a number of obvious errors in this book. I'm not a proof reader, grammar special agent, or even an editor. My reviews are probably an English professors worse nightmare ( probably about to look up worse vs worst lol)
There were enough grammar errors for me to notice and missing words from sentences. The thing I didn't really care for was time line mix up and name mix ups that happened often. There were a number of times, when a plot spans from present to 2 weeks but the the title said earlier, prompting me to look back make sure I read the subtitle correctly but it didn't hinder the story line. Because the heroine went by a number of identities, there a few name mix ups. Again, didn't hinder the story line but I did say things like "who is this and how did they end up in this scene?" Lol
Over all, I liked the book. Matter of fact, I could see the author turn this into a series much like Battaglia. It really does have all makings of a continuing series.
With all of that, people need to chill and just enjoy the book.
Kassidy an emotionally disturbed woman is set on vengeance, of her family and childhood best friend's killers. Tarek the scion of a wealthy texas oil family is her target and so she sets out to trap him so she can get close to him learn all there is to him and then destroy him. She gets close to him and even falls in love with him. Tarek has not allowed himself to get close to a woman in years because the last woman he loved betrayed him. He however, cannot help himself when it comes to Kassidy even though he believes she is hiding something from him. He at first believes she is working for his brother (his bitter rival) but he fails to prove that theory and after four months he breaks up with Kassidy who by this time is working in the family company and goes to South America for a while.
After dumping Kassidy she is somewhat bitter and renews her efforts to destroy him the situation escalates when Tarek returns from South America. Tarek finds out her real identity and confronts her and her plans to expose the company with an environmental "terror group". This leads to Tarek Kidnapping Kassidy and taking her to his ranch in the midst of the worst winter storm Texas has experienced in years. When the truth is revealed by Tarek, Kassidy realizes she had quite a few things wrong and now someone wants them both dead.
It is a good read though I must say Tarek's ties with certain people just did not make sense to me after all was said and done which is why I did not give the book 5 stars.
The story has a HEA and there isn't a dull moment throughout the book.
This book was different from what I have come to expect from this author, not saying it sucked, it didn't. It was different from all the Sienna Mynx books I've read so far.
I skimmed read a bit, can't tell you why really, I guess the turmoil just got to me and I needed to get to a place that was stable. I got sick of trying to second guess everyone's motive in everything, friend or foe.
I wouldn't say this was a romantic book, although there is a "love connection". The 2 main characters were both seeking revenge when they got together, they just didn't know that the people/s that they should have sought revenge from, were one and the same. They both had a lot of issues.
One thing I'm curious on is the age difference between Tarek and Kassandra/Kassidy, wasn't he her sister's boyfriend when she was 6, not that age matters here but I was just wondering to myself, if it was one of those facts I missed when I skim read.
One scene that sticks with me in this book is the one in the kitchen with a knife, don't think I'll forget that in a hurry.
The main characters were complicated with hidden back stories. The mystery and suspense written in this book was mind blowing. I love a good mystery that keeps me guessing and Sienna delivered that. Both Tarek and Kassidy when angry and hardened for the same reasons, they just didn't know it. When they both realised the truth behind their hidden past, they forged a bond of loyalty and love that no one could break, not even time. The betrayal of Tarek's family was heart breaking to only find out that he was adopted for his father Alek Marshall to gain power and riches. It's unfortunate his adopted brothers could not accept him as one of them. It was wonderful to read that through the years of separation and all that Tarek/ Viktor and Kassandra/ Angela/ Clarissa endured, they were able to put their lives back together for their HEA.
Another awesome book from Sienna Mynx! Kassidy is an example of assuming when you don't have all the information. Even if the Marshall family had some culpability that led to her friends death, she didn't have the full story to put the sole blame on Tarek! Because of the dysfunction of his family, Tarek saw something in Kassidy that he needed that caused him to look past her deceit. Tarek is a Don in the making and I can see a new Mafia series in the near future!
This book was intense. I was glad to see such a wicked, suspenseful, edge of you seat page Turner, penned by our very own Sienna Mynx. I had some trouble with getting through the grammatical errors, but it didn't deter me from giving the book a five star. I'm not the grammatical error police officer. It's nothing that a good editor can't fix. I loved the book. It was like a good Lifetime movie that I would've watched repeatedly.
Absolutely loved it! This book had two of my favorite storylines--Texas and Russians. This story had corporate espionage, mafia drama, and a love story. The main character is Tarek and Kassidy and their past criss cross in youth and collide with a bang as adults. Oh, I almost forgot to add witness protection also in the story! This high drama at its best! Ms. Mynx does not miss a beat in this story! I recommend it.
I loved this book Tarek was a force to be reckoned with right along with Kassidy. If having a family like the Marshall's didn't show you what snakes are really about then nothing will. This was a good read and you won't be disappointed.
I must say, that the last several books to me, are going back to the Sienna that I enjoyed reading awhile ago. Some of the books before seemed to had lost something. I'm glad you are back on track. I'm loving your works again. Please keep up the good works
This book is FULL of all kinds of goings-on but it all tied together. There were a few inconsistencies but didn't take away from the story. Just a little distracting. I do wish the author would have delved more into Tarek's backstory. This is the kind of story that could have a part 2.
This was the most irradiating, mind blowing, crazy ass love story that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The connection between Tarek and Kassidy was beautifully pure and transcends time. You know from that moment that one day they would meet again and forever be one.
The story was a good story, the characters had great development and roles. However, I just never felt the chemistry between them. The story line was really great, I just didn't "feel" the couple. The editing was really offsetting! Nouns, pronouns, verbage and adjective were way out of contex and made reading difficult.
Is there a part 🤔 two....that is the question of the day omg that was such a good read makes me want to read it again. The connection was strong between them and I'm glad they got those who tried to wrong them ... sad 😥 it ended but I'm on the look out for the next book by sienna
This book really draws you in. Once you think you've figured out the outcome, the author changes it up. You'll be surprised of the ending. I really hope there is at least one more book that shows what happens to those that make it to the last chapter (no spoiler from me lol).
