After reading the entire stories I believe this is the weakest volume. It's strengths being the mystery and art. Apologies in advance for any flaws in the review, it's been a couple days since I read it.
Pros: I really like the gothic horror atmosphere, and the theme of a play. The characters are well drawn and every panel looks beautiful.
Story gripes: The volume overall is pretty forgettable. If it wasn't for the unique concept I would have already forgot it. This volume just seems like setting up the mystery further. However until you read the third volume everything is way too confusing. My biggest flaw is since I don't care about the characters too much, I'm not as engaged in this mystery. While the mystery is engaging due to it's unpredictability, it's weakened by its characters. I'm a firm believer in having good characters, and since this is a mystery there should be a good cast. That way you are invested in the mystery. I'm don't have much knowledge of vocaloids, for apologies for that. Anyways Miku is just a pretty bland character, she mostly feels like a plot moving device. When the emotional bits hit, I don't feel much for her. They did try to set up some character stuff in the last volume, but that's mostly pushed aside for the mystery. I really do think the large cast can be a problem here. Len and Luka felt like the only ones who had fleshed out characters.
Conclusion: Since this manga is so short, some of the cons can be excused. For its length it's pretty good actually.
This manga is interesting but kinda scary. If you’ve read the first book, everything would’ve made sense, so I suggest you go and read the first book. It’s not really realistic because the “play” in the book repeats over and over again. The reason it only gets three stars is because there’s content that young readers will be scared of, so please, read this manga alone. Overall, the story’s great! The leading lady is trying to bring everyone, by everyone I mean the actors, back to reality. They’re all stuck in a neverending loop of the same night and they want to go back. Will Miss Villager be able to bring everyone back to reality? Or will they be stuck in a neverending loop of the same night?
Tbh, in volume 1 it was interesting. The character, the mysterious vibe, it draws me in.
But here, honestly it loses me. It solved the mystery but it leaves some uninteresting fact. Makes me just want to finish it quickly. But overall, the detailed background still the only reason it makes me want to stay and the character who maintain the characteristic only len and rin. The others... bland. But the art still good though
That plot twist though! The fact that Miku finds out that she is being used in order for the others to get their friend back satisfies me so much! I can't wait to see what she does to the thing in the coffin in the next book!
