Five tales of friends and fun! Rarity tries to help Maud Pie discover her inner enthusiasm; Twilight visits Cadance in the Crystal Empire; Little Strongheart asks Rainbow Dash to go on a quest with her; Fluttershy meets the most adventurous adventurer ever: Daring Do; and, Applejack must discover the secret history of Cherry Jubilee!
Woo, more pony! This volume starts with an adorable story about Maud and Rarity embarking on a race to discover a cavern full of precious stones and Rarity learning more about Maud's not-so-visible emotions. This is followed by a story about Twilight helping Cadance figure out a bit more of her identity as a princess. She's devastated to be known as just the pretty one and Twilight helps her realise what her true strengths are. Not sure why she forgot that she's the princess of LOVE (or why the show did), but hey, cute story. Next up is Rainbow Dash and Little Strongheart in a much less problematic story than the cartoon intro. I enjoyed the intermingling of art styles and the Rainbow Raven myth. Then readers get to see Fluffershy and Daring Doo go off on an adventure. Not the most memorable of the stories, but the action sequences are great! Finally, there's a story about AJ and Cherry Jubilee about forgiveness. It's a bit too trite, but it's also a 24 page story so... All in all, another fun set of stories about the ponies with great art!
Read this to my little sister and YES I am counting it here cuz I'm behind my reading schedule and technically I did read all of it so it should count. Obviously it's mlp so it slapped like what did you expect (lowkey put me in the mood to read more graphic novels). That one page in the rainbow dash story was stunning omfg Sara Richard went off with the art
These stories don't tie together as well as Friends Forever comics usually do, especially Cadence's story, which is sad and doesn't really have an ending. I also don't know what to make of the story about Little Strongheart.
This series continues to provide exactly what I expect: Short, happy stories with characters I enjoy. The morals or endings can be predictable at times, but the comfort of reading about well-known characters in situations where everything turns out okay is welcome from time to time.
