About the author

Lisa Daniels

Lisa Daniels is a (young) retired school teacher who resides in Miami. After five years of teaching, Lisa Daniels found that it wasn’t quite the world that she wanted to inhabit. After leaving her position, she moved to Miami. She hasn’t regretted it.

In her worlds, Lisa Daniels creates characters that go beyond the usual narrative. While they definitively include romance, Lisa Daniels strives to make the worlds more real with characters that are more than just cardboard cutouts of the genre. All of the main characters (and many of the secondary ones) have a rich history that span much longer than the stories themselves. This makes it easy to weave the stories together so that you can see characters you met in previous tales and see how they have managed since.

The Dragons of Letera is her first standalone series. Letera is a world teaming with romance, action, and stories – it is a world that Lisa Daniels loves to explore with her readers, one character at a time.

A great shifter romance. Kerensa is for a wealthy family. But being the youngest daughter, her mother has mostly forgotten her. But that isn't a bad thing. Instead she grows up being an intelligent and curious woman. But the society she lives in doesn't accept women as such. So she disguises her self as a young man. At least she thinks she does. But one man knows differently and one look at him makes her feel some of those feminine feelings she has always ignored. But in a world with magic her journey is about to become more exciting than she ever thought.

I love that the main character is smart and willing to do anything to gain knowledge. It doesn't hurt to have a handsome and mysterious stranger helping too.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

Dragon Shifter

I absolutely loved Kerensa's thirst for knowledge and her quest to strike out on her own taking a trusty servant who is in love with her yet she has no idea. She meets Heath who helps her act like a man and she discovers he's a shifter but she never asks what kind even though she's fascinated with dragons they leave the ship as its being attacked and discovers he's a dragon and they find their HEA

While it's a good story, it seems unfinished. Not nearly as well done as the first to stories.

Kerensa was trying very hard not to let her mannerisms and body shape give away the fact that she was a woman dressed as a man. She had been the youngest of six children and, when her father noticed her inquisitiveness and let her hang around him, her mother totally forgot about her. When the others were all married off, she became aware of Kerensa and her lack of well-bred feminine training in the upper classes of society. But on an evening when the family was together, Kerensa opened their eyes to their boring existence and the men’s dallying. After that, she was left on her own again.

Kerensa wanted to explore outside her home for research purposes, so asked her father’s servant, Chadwick, to accompany her to a tavern. She met Bree, who identified herself as a witch and spy. Bree listened to her and told her of an expedition. She also told her how to disguise herself as a man for safety on the long trip.

On board the research ship, Kerensa was picking up her luggage when a voice offered to help. She thought it was Chadwick, who was accompanying her, even though she was in disguise as a male. But this handsome stranger looked like royalty. He took a bag and asked her where her cabin was. When they got there, he locked the door and turned to her. He had recognized that she was not wearing her clothing correctly and he wanted to help her so that other men would not find out she was female. When he took off his shirt to show her the process, she saw a beautiful dragon tattoo on his chest. She watched as he taught her to put the clothes on as a man would. She then tried it herself while he watched. If she had not been so distracted by him, she would have noticed his comment that her desire to better herself was “very admirable for a human”. What adventures were ahead for her? Would she be found out? Or would she find what it was that her heart led her to?

This is the first book I have read by this author. Although it is Book 3, it works perfectly well as a standalone for a new reader. The book was written beautifully, the storyline moving along nicely with humor interspersed. I loved it and highly recommend it to others.

Ms Daniels writes riveting stories and hasn’t disappointed me yet!

Kerensa’s Dragon is another outstanding story in the Dragons of Telera series, which was easily read in one sitting. The series only gets better with every book and provides readers with fantastic world building, action-packed adventure, and characters that are passionate and engaging. I’m definitely looking forward to the next exciting tale about these sexy dragons.
