Ed and McGraw’s home has become a no-go zone with the addition of Dean Thompson, and the impending visit of his girlfriend Posy is anticipated with a mixture of morbid curiosity and dread.
Haha, when you think you’re doing a good deed and we’re left on a To Be Continued because it doesn’t look like the good deed was really a good deed LoL oh Esther!
I was really impressed by this issue today. I typically don't care for minor charecters and I've never particularly been fond of the uppity, invasive, do-what-I-want Dean but the MMORPG element of this gave Deans charecter an aspect I could finally click with. I loved it! A perfect illustration of the wild ride that is our first online romance. How I'm sure we've all been there at least once! I certainly had a few Runescape boyfriends in my day. If only I had an Esther of my own to save me from some of them haha!
I'm starting to see now that the episodic time line of this series is starting to get a bit confusing, I've read ahead a little bit and it seems that chapters just come and go when the plot needs a reminder that said character exists. I still enjoy the series but it's starting to become something to read for the comedy and not so much the characters anymore.
Kudos on making Dean Thompson a more intriguing character. And he actually looked his age, for once! But it did feel lacking, in that the focus was on a minor character rather than the main trio. Having said that, the MMO parts were fun and tongue-in-cheek, and Esther is an amazing valkyrie.
I feel bad for McGraw and especially Ed for having to put up with Dean. I really liked how they incorporated the MMORPG into the story. I loved everyone's characters, especially Daisy as a unicorn and Esther in her badass outfit.
It's PWN not POWN. Science Fiction Victoriana? You mean Steampunk? Other than these quibbles, I liked how the MMORPG had removed all fighting and was commerce based while appalled McGraw!
