Reviewed for THC Reviews Angels in London is a very short story of only approximately two pages that was originally published in the British newspaper, The Express. It features Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy from Debbie Macomber’s Angels Everywhere series and falls between The Trouble with Angels and Touched by Angels in the series chronology. Given it’s brevity, there’s not a lot to it. Basically the angel trio have gone to London, where Shirley is checking up on a former charge who followed the love of her life there only to discover he was already married. So the angels cook up a little accidental meeting to bring love back into her life.
I enjoyed seeing the three mischievous, but good-hearted angels in action again, helping someone find love during the holiday season. Because of its short length, there isn’t a traditional HEA ending. Instead, it’s more of a case of being able to see that HEA down the road somewhere. If you don’t expect too much, and you’ve enjoyed Ms. Macomber other work, especially her Angels Everywhere stories, then I think you’ll find it to be a quick, cute, heartwarming holiday read.
This was a sweet little vignette. It wasn't really a story, just a little scene in which our favourite Christmas angels try to help someone in their typically unconventional way.
This story had more potential, this why I hate short sometimes. Another quick read, like a page long. Only read it because I like completing series in order as much as possible.
