The Force gives the noble Jedi Knights their power, but it can also be used by the fearsome Sith. In the never-ending battle between good and evil, who will control the power of the Force? This storybook spans the entire Star Wars saga and introduces readers to heroes like Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Rey, as well as villains like Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Kylo Ren!
Brief and basic Star Wars history. Literary a five minute read. Nice still photos including a couple from the Last Jedi, but it is too short, it does not even talk about any more than the very basic force powers. This is more booklet then book.
This book is pretty much covers all of the basic star wars movies up to this point. It discusses what exactly the Force is and the Light Side and the Dark Side. This book has pretty much any spoiler you can think of if you haven't seen any of the movies, but as a children’s book, does a really good job of telling the story of the Skywalker family from young Anakin to then Darth Vader all the way to Kylo Ren and Old Luke and Rey. Though this is a children’s book, its a great Star Wars for dummies kind of thing which I think could be useful and cool. As far as classroom use, it’s a great shelf book and if you have a lot of kids in your class who like star wars, its a good quick read to really get your students into what you’re reading.
The beginning of this book explains the basic difference between the Jedi and Sith and some ways that they use the Force. After few pages of brief explanation, the book switches to following a line of Jedi throughout the prequel, original, and sequel trilogies. The ending of this book is abrupt and attempts to promote Star Wars: The Last Jedi. There are some illustrations that have a nice painted effect. Overall there are Star Wars picture books that I think are of higher quality and have more continuity than this one.
Clearly written with younger readers in mind, this small book does present a concise summary of events of the Star Wars saga, as relating to the Jedi. There's just enough of a hint of what's to come to get me more excited about the new movie, which is the point.
