What’s better than one bad-boy boss? How about two?

In a duet of naughty novellas, a charity date auction turns into all-out war when a pair of powerful corporate lawyers each buy the other’s assistant for a weekend of seduction.

HIS PRICE
I’ve wanted Aria Finley from the moment I met her.
We flirt, we laugh, we connect. It could be perfect.
She’s even best friends with my assistant.
Problem is, she works for my archnemesis—Jackson Keller—and she’s the kind of girl who stays loyal unless you give her a reason not to.
Besides my hard-on there’s something hot between us, and I won’t rest until I put my finger on it.
So when I get the chance to buy Aria for the weekend at a charity auction, there’s no limit.
I’m going to take her home and take what I want because I’ll make her want it too.
And by Monday, she’ll know she’s mine.

DIRTY MONEY
Liam Maxwell thinks he can get to me through my assistant, Aria.
Well, two can play that game.
Now Mallory Beckett—Liam’s assistant and Aria’s best friend—is mine for the weekend.
Only she has no idea who bought her at the charity auction.
This is going to be worth every penny.
But soon I realize that Mallory has been waiting for my touch all along.
What starts as a fling turns into something more.
From the beginning, I was so focused on stealing her away.
I never thought about the fact that I’d drown if I lost her.
Now the game has changed. And she needs to know that she belongs to me.

Bought by the Boss is NSFW. This ebook includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

Liam and Jackson were bffs and roomates in college then there was a girl. And now they hate each other and are rival lawyers.

Book one
Liam wants Jackson's assistant, Aria, and she wants him to but doesn't want to hurt Jackson who is like a big brother. Liam wins her for the weekend at a charity auction (a very hot and sex filled weekend) and at the end they are a couple.

Book two
It starts right at the end of book one with Mallory (Aria's bff and Liam's assistant) finding out that her mystery bidder is Jackson. They go away for their weekend, and the rest of the truth about Liam and Jackson's fall out comes out. After they get home Mallory makes him work for her.

Happily ever afters for everyone and a cute epilogue

Oh yeah. Hot and sweaty! 4.5 stars
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don’t think there’s a book by Stacey Kennedy that I haven’t loved. This new release I was asked to review is a perfect example of why I continually pick up her stories to read.
This book is the perfect set up. Two stories that are inter-related combined into one book. No waiting for the second installment. No forgetting about what I read previously. Just two hot novellas you can read back to back for one full-size book.
If I have to pick as to which one is my favorite, it is definitely book one. Oh-my-God hot with two characters that blended together perfectly. A long time secret lust comes to fruition in a most exciting and sexy story.
Book 2 is the same theme with the other two characters in the series. For some reason these two did not click as well with me. Not that it wasn’t engaging and steamy as heck, but I just thoroughly enjoyed couple number one so much more.
Stacey Kennedy has brought together two awesome novellas into one dripping hot read that you don’t want to miss. Another winner!
Both novellas in Bought by the Boss is about two lawyers, Liam and Jackson. These two went to law school together, they were roommates and best friends. That is until a woman came between them that ultimately caused the demise of their friendship. Now they are enemies who only speak to each other in a professional environment.
His Price: 5 Stars
Liam and Aria have been attracted to each other for three years. Aria is Jackson's assistant and very loyal to him. She knows there is animosity between these two, but she doesn't know what caused it. She just knows she can't act on her attraction out of loyalty to Jackson. When a charity event comes up, Aria sees this as an opportunity to finally give in to her desires for Liam with out going behind Jackson's back.
Dirty Money: 4 Stars
Jackson is livid that Liam has bought his assistant at the charity event. He loves Aria like a sister and doesn't want to see her get hurt because of Liam and his needs to constantly one up each other. To get back at him, he secretly buys a weekend date with Liam's assistant. He knew this would drive Liam crazy but he has no intentions of hurting Mallory. He wasn't expecting Mallory to offer herself to him.
Both novellas were smokin hot! Stacey Kennedy really turned up the heat with these four! I enjoyed both stories but I will say Liam and Aria's was my favorite. They had a very intense attraction since there were true feelings that have been simmering for 3 years.
Jackson and Mallory were just acquaintances until their date weekend but they also fell hard and fast. It was ultimately because of these two getting together that forced the confrontation with Liam and Jackson to finally bury the hatchet.
Both were fun, quick reads that were full of heat! ARC provided by NetGalley.
I have to say that I really enjoyed this duet of dirty novella's a whole lot.
They had just the right combination of sexy and smutty that was balanced with an entertaining and witty storyline.
Stacey Kennedy writes these steamy romances containing a "hint" of bdsm so well.
I would never hesitate to dip into a book by her.
The main characters in both have mutual ties and both storylines are interrelated.
The first one, HIS PRICE- about Liam and Aria was really sweet and the second one DIRTY MONEY-about Jackson and Mallory was the "bomb". I loved them together.
Bought by the Boss is broken into two stories first up is His Price which is Liam and Aria's story and then Dirty Money which is Jackson and Mallory's story. Liam and Jackson were friends in college but something happened that came between them and now they can't stand one another.
HIS PRICE
Liam Maxwell and Aria Finley
Aria and Jackson are great friends and Aria has feelings for her boss, Liam, but would never act on them because she knows about his hatred for Jackson although she doesn't know what caused their riff. Liam has felt the attraction towards his assistant, Aria, and what better way to get back at Jackson then to bet on her for the Charity Auction.
Their weekend is a very enlightening one. Hot, Sensual, and eye opening. But it's only for the weekend....right?
Bought By The Boss
DIRTY MONEY
Jackson Keller and Mallory Beckett
Jackson is furious that Liam would bet on Aria so what better way to get back at them then to win the auction on Liam's assistant Mallory, and do it secretly so no one knows he won until its time to begin his weekend away.
Jackson and Mallory have great chemistry and this was another steamy read.
Bought By The Boss
I really enjoyed this duo of novellas, both were hot quick reads that can be finished in an afternoon.
Happy Reading!!!
This was some unexpected story, for me at least.This book it divided into two stories, completely different but at the same time completely the same. Since it's my first read of this author, I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleased...I don't know if it was me, my mood, or the book itself...For me was just the right book at the right moment.
Image result for give me a pillow gif
The first story of the book is...His Price...Once upon a time, over ten years ago, Liam and Jackson were best friends and roommates at a law school. Now, they are the greatest enemies...Liam buys Aria, Jackson assistant at a charitable auction. Aria is a little in love with Liam since the first time she saw him, three years ago, but she never answered his advances. Yes, she was attracted to him, she flirted with him, but she is loyal to Jackson, she loves Jackson like a brother.
Image result for i love you like a brother gif
Liam always wanted to revenge on Jackson, and when he first saw his assistant, Aria, he knew what he wanted to do. But after he got to know her a little better and he spent more time with her in the meetings he started to feel more for her and to be really attracted to her, and Aria responded to his attraction. So after three years, this auction was his opportunity to prove Aria that he really wanted something serious and he wasn't looking for revenge...And ohhh baby, how he proved to her...
You got: Rough Sex ~ You’re tough, domineering, and headstrong. You know what you like and you know how you like it. You enjoy doing things the HARD way, and that’s the only way you’ll have it. In the bedroom, if it’s not rough, it’s not
The second story in the book is Dirty Money... and is the story of Jackson and Mallory. For 3 years Mallory is Aria best friend, and Liam's assistant, and more than that to him, a best friend. Jackson doesn't feel guilty for what he did to Liam ten years ago, so when Liam bought Aria, his assistant at the auction, Jackson bought Mallory, Liam's assistant, just to despite and hurt him. He keeps his identity as a secret buyer until his encounter with Mallory. His intention was not to hurt Mallory in any way but he plays a game and Mallory plays a different game...And at the end of the weekend with Mallory, his life is changed forever.
crazykissing: “sex / love / romance blog ”
I liked Liam and Aria connection and relationship, and definitely Liam's dominant side. Holly hell it was Hooot...I liked Jackson too, but although he seems rougher on the outside, he wasn't. In his relationship with Mallory, they were equally dominant and I was expecting that Jackson will be more dominant than Liam...The book kept my attention and curiosity...It was a sweet book and I liked both stories.
If you're looking for a sweet, hot romantic and peaceful book...this is the book!
This book is fantastic and I just consumed it. It's a tough one to put down..I just couldn't.
Jackson and Liam, best friends though law school until something happens to despise each other. Neither will talk about what happened, although ten years have passed it could have happened yesterday. These two are a constant festering wound.
Liam has it bad for Jackson's assistant Aria. Trying to respect the boundaries and Aria's relationship with Jackson; Liam gets his opening when he bids on a weekend date with her at a charity auction.
It's Liam's dream come true. Aria doesn't know what to expect with Liam after hearing all the bad nonsense that Jackson has flung around about him, but she's willing. Jackson is angry because Liam's won the weekend date with her.
Liam made my knees weak with his obvious love and adoration of Aria and of course the sex was smoking hot. The chemistry between them was incendiary. Aria knows that Liam is for real and when she returns home to her roommate Mallory, who works for Liam,the feelings come pouring out.
Liam wants a relationship and he does tell Aria what drove he and Jackson apart back when they were in school. Enough to say Jackson disgusted me and I don't care what his rationale was, he's still an ass. This book is divided into two segments: we get Liam and Aria first then tandem into Jackson and Mallory.
Mallory was in the auction too and someone has bid on her, but her date is a mystery. Until he goes to pick her up and lo and behold it's Jackson. He's bid on her to get back at Jackson and Mal knows that.
Mallory knows all about Jackson because she's been best friends and roommates with Aria for a long time. She knows what he's up to and calls him out on it. Spending a weekend with him in a quiet cabin, she comes to see a different side of Jackson and asks the 10 million dollar question- what happened with you and Liam and gets Jacksons edited version. Again. My eyes glaze over because he still ticks me off with his bull. Moving along, they have a nice weekend, christian most of the cabin and the woods, I didn't feel the chemistry I did with Liam and Aria, but obviously Mal did. She decides he isn't quite so bad, and Aria loves Jackson and always points out his redeeming qualities.
I have to hand it to these two women, working for two men who hate each other they both stick together and do talk about them and each of them really do like their respective bosses.
When Jackson brings Mallory home, Liam and Aria arrive and Liam driving home a point after going 4 rounds with Jackson in the hallway while the girls talk in their condo, Liam shows Mallory the email Jackson had sent from the first few minutes of their trip. It wasn't the photo, it was his words. Mallory is hurt. She does however defend Jackson and his behavior to Liam, then politely tells Jackson she never wants to see him again and shuts the door. Jackson is one miserable you know what and he needs to find a way to make this right. But for a smart guy he's totally people stupid. He truly is, so Aria offers a couple general suggestions. And so it goes. Jackson is left to figure out how to make amends with Mallory on his own and that's where I'll leave you.
I love anything Stacey writes, she is a storyteller supreme and weaves that perfect amount of steamy, smoking hot sex into the story that has you page turning. This book was no exception. This is a great story, keeps you interested and not quite sure of the outcome along with a couple others twists. I really loved Liam. His feelings for Aria were so... (read the book), and Aria also, loved her and Mallory. Jackson got on my last nerve which was good because he was supposed to which means Stacey did a damn good job.
Read the book!!
This is a two-fer review. Kitty gives 5 stars and Shadow gives 4 stars.
This standalone offering by Stacey Kennedy is actually two books in one, a pair of intertwined stories about four people whose lives interconnect at a charity auction.
Aria Finley and Mallory Becket are best friends and roommates. They each work for lawyers, who are deadly enemies, feuding over a woman who came between them many years before. Liam has wanted Aria for years, but her friendship and work with Jackson has precluded them from interacting. When he wins her at the auction, all that changes. They discover that their mutual attraction is far more-and how much loyalty is worth. In the meantime, Jackson has purchased Mallory's time at the same auction-in secret. His intentions are to annoy Liam and give Mallory a relaxing long weekend. But Mallory discovers a different Jackson than the one Liam has always portrayed-or has she? The two women are caught between the feuding lawyers-can the men overcome their animosity in order to make their women happy?
This was a light and lively little book with engaging characters, hot sex and an interesting plot. It is a far cry from the author's BDSM series, but it is still entertaining and an enjoyable read.
I was totally taken by surprise with Bought by the Boss... two men, two woman … both men looking to make the other pay … both women getting exactly what they want – the men on their knees begging for a chance.
His Price … Liam and Aria. Two stubborn and unbelievably sexually attracted to each other people. His ex-best-friend Jackson thinks he is after Aria because of their past. But, he is totally wrong. He fell in love with Aria a long time ago and she kept it all business because of the animosity between them. But, the auction changes it all. Now, he has one weekend to win her over, to show her the man he really is and dispel everything Jackson has said about him and win her heart.
Liam doesn't have that hard of a job. Aria has wanted him from the minute he walked into a meeting. Sexy, funny … what's not to like about him. But, her boss has nothing nice to say about him. She has no idea why they hate each other but she's tired of being in the middle. When she realizes that he didn't buy her just to piss Jackson off, as he shows her a beautiful weekend filled with romance, fun and unbelievable sexy times, she can't help but wonder why all the hostility.
Liam knows that he has to come clean about Jackson but doesn't want that to be the reason why Aria chooses him. He wants her heart. When he realizes what he told her about the past, what he told her about the deal that was working on and she didn't say anything, he knew he had her and couldn't wait to get her and start their lives together.
Enter Jackson and Mallory – Dirty Money. Just when Aria and Liam are going to confront Jackson and tell him that he better get used to the idea of them being together … he's missing. And Aria's cell pings … they now know just where he is, what he's doing and why. Now, Mallory has to figure out a way to get through this three day date without laying a hand on the man that has been the basis for her fantasies. She's got this.
Jackson did buy Mallory for the reason Liam thought. He figured it would teach him a lesson, give Mallory three days of relaxation and him some time away from the rat race. Boy, was he sadly mistaken. He never saw Mallory coming. Well, he did end up seeing that but she ended up being so much more than what he expected. Fun, sexy and sweet. Nothing like the other girls he has ever dated. She could hold her own with him in and out of bed. She just amazed him.
Mallory is finally finding out what she has been just been imagining. She's not, in the least bit, a bold woman. But, she's going to take what she can get when she can get it. But, she's also surprised by the man Jackson is. He's caring and loving … nothing that Liam has made him out to be. She gets him to open up and finds out the reason for the feud. She can't condone what happened but she can understand why. Now, it's her goal to get the two most important men in her life to see reason.
Jackson did something really stupid that he is totally regretting now. But, he's a man – they do stupid things. Mallory and Aria know that, understand that and let them get their macho on until they have had enough and put a stop to it. But, that leaves Mallory with a void in her heart. It's Aria that makes Jackson see exactly what he did and tell him what he needs to do.
Like I said, Bought by the Boss took me totally by surprise. But, Stacey Kennedy writing these stories didn't. I know that I could always count on her to bring me a fun story filled with hot scenes and fantastic characters. I love how these two stories blended into each other. The epilogue brought the story full circle and gave me two beautiful HEA's.
**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**
A sensual, intense game of cat and mouse per se between friends. An enjoyable, fast paced duet romance with a twist and turn thrown in by Stacey Kennedy in her latest pursuit Bought By The Boss. I consume all of Stacey Kennedy’s books in one sitting and with this hot number it was no different.
Two best friends turn enemies over a girl now pinning over each other’s assistants? This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Bought By The Boss is told in two parts, which was a real treat to learn at the end of part one. This duet was sweet in some areas wanting Liam and Jackson to mend their friendship and on the flip side it was ravenous with each of their wicked ways with their women. Each male had their unique ways in between the sheets and Stacey didn’t hold back on the hotness factor.
PART ONE
Liam Maxwell has bought Aria Finley for a weekend long getaway. Excited that he finally can get his hands on her thanks to his money going to a charity auction. 3 years is too long to be pinning after your ex-friends assistant, but now the thrill to get her under him has him on pins and needles.
“I want to see what’s mine this weekend, Aria.”
“All I have is to gain one wild weekend where I give in to the sin that’s been burning between us for years.”
Aria has lusted after Liam for quite some time, but her only hold up is her boss Jackson who she considers a dear friend. She knows that Jackson and Liam used to be friends, but had a falling out. She wants to be with Liam but can’t break Jackson’s heart. Excited to get her weekend away, she learns a multitude of things of Liam that she least expected, changing how she perceives him; opening her heart to love. But what about Jackson?
Truth, secrets and the real personalities really shine between Liam and Aria. I liked how Aria stays true to herself and keeps Liam on her toes. I also wasn’t expecting the ending of part one, but then again, it was the perfect beginning to part two for Jackson and Mallory’s story.
PART TWO
Jackson wants revenge on Liam for taking Aria away, so he takes Mallory, Liam’s assistant for a couple of days. Only to learn that Mallory is not the mediocre woman he has come to know in the office. It’s a mere act of survival of the fittest between the two and both believe they will win.
“There is only one set of rules, Mallory. Mine.”
Once Jackson and Mallory let down their guard, learn to let each other in, they form a connection they can’t believe would happen. But what happens when they both return home to a disgruntled welcoming committee? What happens when Jackson reveals his true motive to taking Mallory away, will the connection they made be lost?
Out of both stories, I enjoyed Jackson’s story better. I felt there was more ‘backstory’ and angst with him. Maybe more of a sad story and for Mallory to lift him up. However, the twist at the end I saw coming and the way he redeemed himself was sweet, caring and if I was Mallory I would have acted the same way!
Praise to Stacey Kennedy for another remarkable novel that showcased two small stories with so much heart and intense heat. I can’t wait for what you have in store for us next!
Two ropes tied in knots at both ends! How can they be un-knotted and made into a bow? Two former friends, two current friends make for illegal romantic possibilities. College buddies Liam and Jackson have fought a feud with each other for many years. Both are lawyers and have amazing assistants. Aria works for Jackson but craves passion with Liam. Mallory works for Liam and dreams of romance with Jackson. Both men seek to find true love by the opening of their wallets to win an auction. Two novellas together make this for instant reader gratification. "A copy of this book was supplied by Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." Everything Stacey Kennedy writes is on my list to read!! Yes she is that good.
Review to come!His Price:
"His kisses are so much more than simple affection. It's a statement. He owns me with every bite of his teeth."
Dirty Money:
"It's all so much. The bindings. The blindfold. Him. His scent. Every smell. I'm aware of so much."
"I'm falling with no place to land. She thinks the worst of me. Maybe she always had."
Bought By The Boss is a sexy and fun read. It's two interconnected stories in one. While His Price & Dirty Money are both quick reads. They both have instant connections and scorching red hot romances.
Overall, I really enjoyed Bought By The Boss. I thought the two story-lines were a lot of fun. The characters were easy to connect with and left you wanting more. If you're looking for a quick sexy and hot read, look no further and give Bought By The Boss a try.
There is nothing better than having to read two amazing stories in one book. This was a delight to read let me tell you.
We have Liam and Jackson who had a falling out way back in collage and being men they never fully disclosed why things ended the way they did.
They are both lawyers and can't stand each other. But they both have something that other wants – amazing and brilliant assistants in Aria and Mallory.
The first story starts when Liam wins company of Aria in a charity for the weekend. Liam is determent to prove to Aria that he is more than what Jackson portraits him to be.
To say that they spent one hot weekend together is an understatement. Liam is very persuasive and manages to win Aria over even when she tells him that she will not give up her friendship with Jackson.
The second story starts whit Aria receiving text from Mallory telling her that her mystery date is Jackson. Jackson is determent to get back at Liam so he won Mallory at the same charity just to spike him. But the joke is on him because at this little getaway he sees something special in Mallory which doesn’t give him peace when they return to the city and Mallory discovers that maybe Liam was right all along about him.
This two stories had funny moments, swoony moments and of course hot-and-steamy moments.
I fricking loved them all.
This one kinda fell in the middle for me. It's short, dirty and a fun read. There are two novellas with two stories for you to sink your teeth into. Both are in this book and both are smokin hot. My only issue was that it took me a minute to get into the story at the beginning. The ending was a bit abrupt but over all I enjoyed both stories.
"Why are the jerks always so damn sexy?"
That's a good question and one I struggle with and probably why my reading list for some is a bit concerning lol.
This is a fun read, it's a nice short escape. Try it if you think it sounds like something you would like.
M/F Romance
Triggers: Cheating
His Price
Liam and Aria have amazing chemistry. She is willing to do whatever she wants and whatever he wants while they have their charity weekend. Liam is not known for losing. However, when he knows that Aria is only with him for a weekend, his lust for her, which has grown over several years, will not be satisfied.
Truths are learned, love is developed, and lust is satisfied. But when the weekend is over, Aria and Liam have to decide whether or not their connection can survive Aria’s loyalty to Liam’s ex-best friend and rival, Jackson. I loved how Liam and Aria interacted. She was loyal to herself and to Jackson, all while keeping Liam on his toes both physically and intellectually.
Dirty Money
Jackson is hard for me to like. He presents as a vindictive, jealous ex-best friend to Liam and you can’t help but not want him and Mallory to be together. Mallory is Liam’s assistant and has lusted after Jackson for as long as Liam lusted after Aria. Mallory and Aria are the best of friends and they talk about their respective bosses a lot. Despite the strange feud between the bosses, Aria and Mallory both want to find happiness.
When Mallory realizes that Jackson bought her at the charity auction simply to get back at his ex-best friend, she decides that despite knowing that, she’s going to make the best of the weekend.
Mallory is a surprise throughout this story and is constantly showing Jackson a very different side of herself. In turn, Jackson shows a different side of himself to Mallory – a side that she falls in love with.
However, reality has a nasty way of crashing down around them when their weekdays are up and despite everything they felt and did those amazing days, Mallory has to stand up for herself and her heart.
I think that both stories were well done. You were able to see different, non-business sides of each male character, and the female characters were able to be their confident selves throughout. The resolution was appropriate and it definitely leaves you wanting more of each couples’ story.
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is a linked duet of stories about two men who now hate each other, and their two female assistants. It is an easy read, and has, by the very end, a very satisfying outcome.
His Price
In this book, Liam successfully bids on Aria, his rival Jackson's assistant. He and Aria have been skirting around each other ever since she first started working for Jackson three years ago – and it is time something gives. So a donation to charity, and he has her company for the weekend. Aria is delighted, but however much she is attracted to Liam, her friendship with her employer means she has no interest in long term. Obviously, the true romance reader knows that Ms. Kennedy is going to get this all sorted out, but the way she gets there is fun. Plenty of chemistry, passion, and closeness that make both Liam and Aria wish for something more.
Dirty Money
Not only Aria was successfully bid for at the charity event; Mallory, Liam's assistant, is about to spend a few days with an anonymous bidder. So almost immediately after Aria comes home, Mallory sets off... with Jackson. He is doing it to annoy Liam but finds that Mallory is actually an incredibly attractive person inside and out. Whilst his initial reason was ill judged, his behaviour towards Mallory is always honorable, and in fact, we get to see a very different side to his character.
As we find out why the men hate each other from both sides, and the women try and find a way to keep their new-found romances and their bosses, everything comes to a head. It is a satisfying solution.
This is a book with two stories that are connected by two men who hate each other, but were once roommates in college. They are connected to each other by their jobs as corporate lawyers, which puts them against each other, and the assistant to one which the other man wants.
His Price
Liam Maxwell does his job well and has been lusting after Aria, Jackson's assistant, for three years now. He bids on her at a charity auction that will get him a weekend with her. And maybe this will either get her out of his system or will win her heart. Aria has felt the connection towards Liam since the first time she saw him and she can't wait for their weekend away. What a time it will be. But her boss and friend is not very happy with her because he thinks Liam will hurt her and use her to get back at him.
What Liam and Aria discover while away for the weekend is they both want each other and to work on a future together. When Aria learns about Liam and Jackson's past, she can't believe what she is hearing – how could a best friend do that? Can she help them get over the past and make things right? Will Liam and Aria have a future together that Jackson will approve of, so she will be happy?
Dirty Money
Jackson Keller found a way to get back at Liam and it was to bid on Mallory, Liam's assistant, without anyone knowing. When he shows up at her door, she is surprised and tells him that she will not be part of his game. He likes her spunk and whisks her away to his cabin in the woods. He doesn't plan on sleeping with her, he just wants to send a photo to Liam to show that she is with him. But Mallory has another idea since Jackson has been starring in her dirty fantasies many times. She decides to seduce him, and their few days together turn out to be the best the both of them have ever had.
When Jackson and Mallory return, Liam and Jackson fight in the hallway and Liam shows Mallory the email with the photo. She is hurt but admits she instigated the affair and now it is over. This hits Jackson hard in the chest, he has never had these feelings before.
Can Jackson make Mallory see he wants more with her? Will she be able to forgive him because she saw the real Jackson? Will Aria and Mallory be able to get Liam and Jackson to talk about the past?
I love Stacey Kennedy's writing style and I loved these stories, they were funny, sexy, with alpha males and strong women. Both stories are short and will have you so engrossed that you will not want to put your Kindle down. So I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Mary Jo – ☆☆☆
Two short novellas featuring former best friends who had a falling out over a girl back in college. Now lawyers and business rivals, their hatred has invaded both their business and personal lives.
In the first story, Liam has had feelings for Aria for three years. He's never acted on his feelings because she works for his former best friend, Jackson. He knows that Aria has feelings for him, it’s in the eyes. When Aria volunteers to be sold as a date for a charity, Liam sees his chance to have some time with Aria.
Aria loves Liam but her unwavering loyalty to Jackson means she can never act on those feelings. When Liam buys her at the auction, she knows that her life will never be the same.
In the second story, Jackson has the winning bid for Liam's assistant, Mallory. Mallory, who's a little more world wise than Aria, goes into the weekend with her eyes wide open and decides to take a chance with Mr. Keller. During their time together, Jackson opens up to her in a way he never has before. Mallory is accepting of his truths and he firmly believes that he may have a chance at love, until his pride comes back to bite him.
Mallory is forgiving, to a point, but she refuses to be a pawn in whatever game Jackson and Liam are playing. Love is for keeps and she refuses to be second best.
I wanted to like these stories more than I did. To me, the pace in both stories was inconsistent and the ending seemed a bit rushed.
His Price – 5 stars
When Liam buys a weekend with Aria at a charity auction they both know this has been a long time coming. Three years to be exact. The only thing that has kept these two apart is the fact that Aria works for Liam’s nemesis and she refuses to be put in the middle between them. Jackson is like a brother to her and she absolutely will not hurt him, knowing that being with Liam will do that. However, they now have a weekend and they each use it to its full advantage. Aria to quench the desire she’s had for Liam and Liam to turn her loyalties.
For a novella this was richly written. The characters are fully developed and their emotions as well as the chemistry between them are easily recognized. This is not an over the top story because this relationship has been growing since they first met. I loved the deep determination that Liam had to win the woman he has craved even as he ultimately gives her the choice between the two men in her life.
Dirty Money – 4 stars
In retaliation against Liam purchasing Aria, Jackson buys Mallory. Other than making Liam suffer, he has no intention of using, abusing or hurting her. However, Mallory has plans of her own and they include tempting her own personal temptation. She’s been wanting Jackson since she first met him and now she has a chance. Their time together is ideal but when they return home, Mallory learns that Jackson hasn’t changed at all. His sights are still set on holding tight to the feud between himself and Liam. But when the cost of that feud is losing the woman he’s come to care about, he has no clue how to undo the damage he’s inflicted.
This portion of the book wasn’t quite as emotionally involved as the first. I think part of that was because Jackson had never looked at Mallory with any thought of wanting more with her. He’s known her for two years and he’s never desired her in any way. That caused a feeling of separation that had to be overcome and an unrealistic expectation that two days would be enough.
Together, these two novellas make up one very nice story. At the heart is the friendship that was damaged so many years ago and must now, for the sake of their women, be breeched and dealt with. I was a bit disappointed in Jackson’s explanation for his actions but I forced myself to just accept it for what it was despite my own feelings on the matter.
This is well written, fast paced and so dang steamy. These couples certainly know how to turn up the heat. I would’ve enjoyed a longer epilogue but it was enough to let me know where these characters are. Definitely worth a read!
Bought by the Boss by Stacey Kennedy is a standalone that actually is two books in one, a pair of intertwined stories about four people whose lives interconnect at a charity auction. They’re complete opposites in tone but they mesh really well together!
Book one-- Liam wants Jackson's assistant, Aria and she wants him too but doesn’t want to hurt Jackson who she considers family, she even treats him like her big brother. Liam wins her for the weekend at a charity auction and they end up having a sex filled weekend. The story shows how by the end of the weekend they are a couple.
Book 2- It starts right at the end of book one with Mallory (Aria's best friend & Liam’s assistant) finding out that her mystery bidder is Jackson. They go away for their weekend, and the truth happens to come out about why Liam and Jackson had their falling out. When they get back home, Mallory really makes Jackson work for her hard. By the end of this book Mallory and Jackson are a couple.
If I have to pick as to which one is my favorite, I find it hard because there is good in each book but if I had to choose, it would be book 1. Reason would be the hot main characters and the intense chemistry and finally that insane sexual lust that comes to head between Liam and Aria. That is why I chose book 1 in this novel. I still like book 2 but felt book 1 edged out book 2 slightly. Mallory and Jackson have that chemistry and passion too but it was slightly toned down. I still liked both stories and look forward to see what Ms. Kennedy writes next.
I loved, loved this book! It's contains two separate stories that are intertwined by a broken friendship. I read both stories in one sitting.
Liam Maxwell has finally decided to pursue Aria Finely. He bids high at a charity event to win a weekend with Aria. Liam has stayed away from Aria because she works for an opposing corporate lawyer, who also happens to be his old law school roommate and now archnemesis. Their connection is intense! Liam has a plan to win over Aria but can she move past her loyalty to her boss. Oh, man! Liam sent shivers down my spine with his sexy dominance.
Jackson Keller decides that two can play that game. Jackson bids on and wins Mallory Beckett who works for Liam. Mallory was only suppose to be a pawn in his game against Liam. However Mallory has other plans and turns the tables on Jackson, offering herself up for a weekend fling. Mallory holds her ground with Jackson and soon creeps into his heart. They discover they have a lot in common. Mallory also discovers the truth about the feud between Liam and Jackson. Can Jackson make a mends in order to win over Mallory?
I love the dual conflicts the characters faced. Aria and Mallory are faced with choosing between love and loyalty. It doesn't help that Liam and Jackson are swoony, hard-headed, dominates. It's a fight to the end (literally) to get these two men to make a mends. I will say I had a few good chuckles that added the intense sexiness. 5 Stars!
This is a linked duet of stories about two men who now hate each other, and their two female assistants. It is an easy read, and has, by the very end, a very satisfying outcome.
His Price
In this book Liam successfully bids on Aria, his rival Jackson's assistant. He and Aria have been skirting around each other ever since she first started working for Jackson, three years ago - and it is time something gives. So a donation to charity, and he has her company for the weekend. Aria is delighted, but however much she is attracted to Liam, her friendship with her employer means she has no interest in long term. Obviously the true romance reader knows that Ms Kennedy is going to get this all sorted out, but the way she gets there is fun. Plenty of chemistry, passion and closeness that make both Liam and Aria wish for something more.
Dirty Money
Not only Aria was successfully bid for at the charity event, Mallory, Liam's assistant is about to spend a few days with an anonymous bidder. So almost immediately after Aria comes home, Mallory sets off ... with Jackson. He is doing it to annoy Liam, but finds that Mallory is actually an incredibly attractive person inside and out. As we find out why the men hate each other from both sides, and the women try and find a way to keep their new found romances and their bosses, everything comes to a head. It is a satisfying solution.
I should just mention that I read a pre-publication proof, so have not commented about errors, typos etc.
Bought By The Boss is a two story book by Stacey Kennedy about two lawyers who hate each other and the women who work for them. Both stories relate to each other, and each one is about a separate lawyer.
His Price is about lawyer Liam Maxwell. He ends up bidding 100K for a weekend date with his nemesis’s assistant, Aria Finley. Aria has always had a thing for Liam, but she’s stayed away because she knows that her boss, Jackson hates him. But they end up at his beach house for the weekend and she gets to know him better.
Liam tells her why he and Jackson are fighting. Aria is of course torn. Does she stay with him? Or does she leave him and stay loyal to her boss and good friend Jackson?
Dirty Money picks up at the end of His Price when Aria’s friend and Liam’s assistant Mallory finds out that Jackson has purchased her in the auction, but he’s done it to get back at Liam for revenge and torture. Mallory likes Jackson, so even if it hurts, she’ll take the 3 days and find out why the two men are at odds.
After a sinfully sexy three days, this entire book culminates into the final story between the two men as only it can. Will they make up? Will the girls get their guys? Grab a copy and find out! This was a fun and sexy read from Stacey Kennedy!
Bought by the Boss are two novellas in one! We have best friends who are both working as personal assistants to lawyers of different firms. The guys used to be the best of friends in law school, and after something happened, they have been feuding ever since.
When a charity auction is going on, Aria and Mallory, both agreed to be auctioned off for a weekend date. Both lawyers, Liam and Jackson, buy the others assistant hoping to get back at each other. Chaos is all around and the girls try to piece together what caused the rift between the men they work for. Their hope is to get them talking to clear the air between them.
Whew! What a ride!! I had a fun time reading this one! I am a fan of Stacey Kennedy's books and this is another enticing one to read! I liked all the characters and it was interesting to see what made them tick. The storyline was believable and the characters were everyday people. We all have problems-only these guys held grudges forever!
I was glad to see both sides of the rift and could understand why things went down as they did. I was happy to see a resolution of sorts and a start to mending fences! All in all a scintillating read I wholeheartedly recommend!
When it comes to romance, nobody can set off the sprinklers like Stacey Kennedy. Bought by the Boss is at it's best when It's being decidedly wicked. Alpha males, hot tempered women and scandalous secrets set the stage for naughtiness in this spicy battle of hearts.
His Price - She's his heart's desire. He's her greatest temptation. Instant attraction has repercussions for feuding enemies and any woman brash enough to get in the way. Aria is caught between trusting her heart on a stranger or risking a friendship that means the world to her. Liam is a man with an agenda. He just has to figure out for himself, what he's willing to risk to get it. Liam and Aria are a steamy combination of lust, love and risk.
Dirty Money - Sex, lies and heartache await. Can a romance built on half truths survive? One Night sets off a chain of events that could be their undoing. Mallory wants to be loved. Jackson wants to feel needed. One auction is the beginning of a surprising revelation for both. Too bad their chance may have come too late. Temptation awaits.
M/F Romance
Triggers: Cheating
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Book 1:
Liam and Aria have amazing chemistry. She is willing to do whatever she wants and whatever he wants while they have their charity weekend. Liam is not known for losing. However, when he knows that Aria is only with him for a weekend, his lust for her, which has grown over several years will not be satisfied.
Truths are learned, love is developed and lust is satisfied. But, when the weekend is over, Aria and Liam have to decide whether or not their connection can survive Aria’s loyalty to Liam’s ex-best friend and rival, Jackson. I loved how Liam and Aria interacted. She was loyal to herself and to Jackson, all while keeping Liam on his toes both physically and intellectually.
Book 2:
Jackson is hard for me to like. He presents as a vindictive, jealous ex-best friend to Liam and you can’t help but not want him and Mallory to be together. Mallory is Liam’s assistant and has lusted after Jackson for as long as Liam lusted after Aria. Mallory and Aria are the best of friends and they talk about their respective bosses a lot. Despite the strange feud between the bosses, Aria and Mallory both want to find happiness.
When Mallory realizes that Jackson bought her at the charity auction simply to get back at his ex-best friend, she decides that despite knowing that, she’s going to make the best of the weekend.
Mallory is a surprise throughout this story and is constantly showing Jackson a very different side of herself. In turn, Jackson shows a different side of himself to Mallory – a side that she falls in love with.
However, reality has a nasty way of crashing down around them when their weekdays are up and despite everything they felt and did those amazing days, Mallory has to stand up for herself and her heart.
I think that both stories were well done. You were able to see different, non-business sides of each male character and the female characters were able to be their confident selves throughout. The resolution was appropriate and it definitely leaves you wanting more of each couples’ stories.
The blurb really had me sucked in wanting to read this. This was different for me to where its 2 novellas connected with an overall story. So I wanted to give it a try.
Both bosses who are long time nemesis buys each others secretaries for a charity auction. I like how Jackson acted as the big brother in the very first chapter. I felt all of the tension between him and Liam.
What I didn't like about this book was that I felt liked I walked into the middle of a story. It almost needed a prologue of either how the feud happened or of how the bosses interact with the secretaries to get a background of introduction. There's TONS of steamy scenes in this one, but unfortunately not really connecting with the characters made me skim most of them and therefore I only focused on the core story.
Side note: I wish the cover had 2 couples instead of one, because it IS about 2 couples.
I loved the start of this book. It had me intrigued immediately. The book is also made up of two love stories (the second couple will kind of become obvious as you read it, but they both really blended into one.
Liam has wanted Aria for so long, but Aria works for Liam's arch enemy. There was so much sexual chemistry between the two but sadly that is where the attraction between thw two ended for me.
There was no foreplay. They just got right on down to the main course and I as a reader like a bit of a build up. There was obviously some history between the two and I would have liked to have known more about that.
There was however a huge emphasis on Alex and Jacksons long running feud and I wasn't entirely convinced their issues were necessarily warranted.
For me this book was just a little too insta-love for my taste but there were some hot parts. I just wish that overall there had been a little more substance to the story.
Stacey Kennedy is one of my absolute favorite authors and she never disappoints me when it comes to romance and all that it entails. Stacey makes the story so much more than I hope and makes it into something that you can almost see happening in a real life situation. Whether real or fantasy that is your choice.
Stacey spends the perfect amount of effort in making sure that her characters are well developed along with the story line so that not only is it passable, but more than believable.
If you haven't read anything by Stacey I honestly don't know what you are waiting for!
