Robert Kirkman is an American comic book writer best known for his work on The Walking Dead, Invincible for Image Comics, as well as Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. He has also collaborated with Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane on the series Haunt. He is one of the five partners of Image Comics, and the only one of the five who was not one of the original co-founders of that publisher.
Robert Kirkman's first comic books were self-published under his own Funk-o-Tron label. Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. Battle Pope ran for over 2 years along with other Funk-o-Tron published books such as InkPunks and Double Take.
In July of 2002, Robert's first work for another company began, with a 4-part SuperPatriot series for Image, along with Battle Pope backup story artist Cory Walker. Robert's creator-owned projects followed shortly thereafter, including Tech Jacket, Invincible and Walking Dead.
... do I like Negan now? :x At least not hate him. This omnibus kind of dragged in the middle, (Vol 26 Call to Arms probably), but the last volume made up for it. TWD still has me gasping with shock. That last frame... powerful.
What more can I say? My pace is speeding up and managed to log this one out before the weekend was up. The set-up/payoff is so well done at this point I'm a bit sad that I only have one book left. Well, I could say more, but better get to it.
Love The Walking Dead. The story is so well written and the graphical are so good that I don’t even care that it’s black and white. That’s really all there is to it. I particularly love the Omnibus editions because they provide enough of the story to really sink your teeth into. Pun intended...
The Walking Dead Omnibus, Volume 7 by Robert Kirkman gathers the series's Volumes 25-28 (#145-168). After a devastating act by Alpha and the Whisperers, Rick must decide his next move as residents of the communities demand retaliation, and some even begin to question his leadership. Rick declares yet another war and must turn to a former enemy as a last resort. With the fight against the Whisperers closing in, Rick must ensure the readiness of the community's newly formed militia while also dealing with various conflicts within the walls of each community, including the escape of a dangerous prisoner.
The militia engages in war with the Whisperers, with both sides having enormous casualties. Meanwhile, the Whisperers attack the Hilltop and destroy its defences. With one last trump card, the Whisperers lead an ocean of walkers towards Alexandria while the Militia returns and reinforcements from the Kingdom and Hilltop also head towards Alexandria. In the aftermath of The Whisperer War…ALL IS LOST.
