~This review is for Lady of Breken Manor by Heather B. Moore~

5*

A Scottish Manor, an inheritance, an ancient curse, a noble lady hidden away, a carriage crash, a ghost stuck in between her mother's anger and eternity. Can anything save her, release her from this curse that unfairly froze her in time to watch others live their lives and wishing she could find love, or even pass on to the next life?

Sean finds himself arriving in Scotland to explore his new manor house, left to him by his great uncle, the crazy one who was a recluse and a little bit of a lunatic. Sean wants to fix it all up, brush the dust off his hands and sell the place so he can return to his life in Colorado and marry his fiancee Michele. Going to Scotland provides a great little getaway and allows him to get his hands dirty doing some fix it work. What he doesn't expect is her...Lady Charlotte...the ghost.

If you enjoy a lighthearted paranormal story, mixed together with humor, a yummy love story (albeit a little fast and short-hey it's a novella) then this one will definitely give you a little tingle up your spine with delight! I loved it! I was honestly hooked from the first few paragraphs. I've read a similar paranormal story several years ago that ended in a way I did not expect(in regards to the ghost) and I wanted to see how Heather B. Moore would pull this one off. Let me just tell you it didn't disappoint.

Great closure and wrap up for Lady Charlotte. I was a little sad to say goodbye to her. She is one spunky lady, umm, er ghost. Great sense of humor, slightly frightful when she chooses and definitely a kind ghost when she chooses. Lol. I would love to see this expanded into a full length novel because, well, like I said, I didn't want to say goodbye to Lady Charlotte.

Sean was a great hero. I had my doubts wondering if I would like him as much as I liked other heroes written by this author. Should I have doubted? Nope! Heather B. Moore has proven to me once again just why I love her as an author. I love her characters, their growth (even in short novellas), the storyline, the humor, the intensity, just all around everything! Sorry if I'm fangirling here but I just have to be honest, I'm a huge fan!

Oh, um, I was talking about Sean and had a little tangent there. Sorry. Sean was swoon worthy and he definitely made somebody swoon in this book. Again I'd love to see more time with these two characters because they were great but for the length it worked for me. Grab a warm drink, comfy blanket and snuggle in because you won't want to shut the pages (ok I didn't want to shut the pages).

This is part of the Secret Legends box set available Sept 12, 2017 and then as an individual book in December. So if you can't wait until December grab the box set and you'll get many more fun reads.

Content: Clean. There were a handful of mild swear words. A couple kissing in the bedroom and fades out to black.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

***This review is only for Heather B. Moore's novella, Lady of Breken Manor***

When Sean inherits a manor in Scotland, he and his fiance, Michele go there to look it over before selling it. He doesn't plan on it being haunted though. Can you imagine? Charlotte was cursed and until that curse is broken, she's forced to dwell in this house.

Sean is great! Whether it's fixing the manor up or uncovering vital information for a friend, this man doesn't leave any stone unturned. I really came to adore him, especially when he comes to his senses, and could see why Charlotte is intrigued with him. As for Charlotte, she's a trickster, but my heart really went out to her. The circumstances surrounding the curse fell upon her through no fault of her own, yet she's the one suffering for it.

There are some heart wrenching moments in this story, with no foreseeable resolution, and I couldn't help but hope for some miracle to happen to break the curse. I wanted the characters to find happiness and be at peace, even with the slight melancholy feeling that shadows over the pages. I had similar feelings while watching the old 80s movie Somewhere in Time. Although this is only a novella, emotions are high and I was fully invested.

Content: mild romance with some innuendo; very mild language.

*I received a copy, which did not influence my opinion in any way.*

Lady of Breken Manor by Heather Moore

I am a sucker for ghost stories, especially fall in love with a ghost stories. When Sean goes to Scotland to prepare his newly inherited estate for sale, he doesn't expect a ghost. He also doesn't expect to feel drawn to her.

I enjoyed the setting in Scotland, the superstition, the curse that could have Charlotte tied to the manor in the first place. I also loved Sean and Charlotte together. Since she's a ghost, they can't touch or kiss. This led to a story where the characters talk and get to know each other.

The romance was sweet. I loved the tricks that Charlotte played as a ghost, and the way that Sean accepted her, and didn't run away screaming!

Content: clean (some kissing, mild innuendo)

I haven't read the rest of the collection, but I look forward to it.

I just finished "Lady of Breken Manor" by Heather B Moore. It was delightful. Sean travels to see his recently inherited manor in Scotland with his fiancé. Little did they know that it was haunted by Lady Charlotte who had been cursed to haunt the manor until the owner of the manor fell in love with her. Can a flesh and blood man fall in love with a ghost?
It was a fun, quick read with likable characters.

Review of LADY OF BREKEN MANOR by Heather B. Moore

I'm not big into the paranormal genre but if my favorite author is writing it, I'm going to read it. And love it. Such was the case with Lady of Breken Manor. The characters were easy to get to know quickly (which is an important thing in a novella) and I loved seeing them get to know each other and fall in love. Because of the unusual situation of Charlotte being a ghost and Sean being the one who could finally send her to the next life, their love had obstacles to work through and was tested and tried. I loved how the author made everything work out in the end, and I finished the story with a smile on my face. The amazing setting of a manor in Scotland was another thing I loved about the story, it really set the tone and made it seem like magical things could happen.

(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

This is a review for Lady of Breken Manor by Heather B. Moore

I don't think I've read a book or novella by Heather B. Moore (or H. B. Moore) that I didn't like. I'm amazed at all the different genres and topics she covers. Reading the first few pages I liked Sean and didn't like his fiancee, Michele, so I wasn't surprised when she told Sean he was crazy and left Breken Manor. If I were a ghost I would've driven her away in a heartbeat. I liked how Sean read the history of Breken Manor and found out how Lady Charlotte and her mother died, and when he discovered there were 2 requirements to break the curse he was determined to find the letter of apology from her father.

I wish the story could've been longer so Sean and Lady Charlotte could've spent more time together before he found a way to break the curse. I liked that Charlotte didn't just cross over to the other side--she got to choose. I still want to know why her mother cursed her since it wasn't Charlotte's fault her father never married her mother. She sounds like an awful woman.

I liked Lady Charlotte and expected her to be a bit more mischievous before deciding to be nice to Sean but since it's a novella and not a full novel I guess there wasn't time to drag that out. I did like the character and how she was portrayed. This story held my interest from the beginning and I wish it had been longer.

I am reviewing only the Lady of Breken Manor. Sean, a contractor from Colorado, inherited a centuries old manor in Scotland from his eccentric great uncle. He travels to Breken Manor with his fiancé, Michele, to see what repairs need to be done in order to sell it. Michele is over the top excited until they arrive and strange things begin happening to freak her out. Sean is captivated by the painting over the fireplace of a beautiful woman and even more intrigued to find out she is a ghost, confined to Breken Manor by a curse. This delightful story is so well written. The characters have great personalities and the plot moved quickly and steadily.

Lady of Breken Manor (only)

I loved this! I loved Lady Charlotte's personality and how she spoke out of turn so often. I liked the ending. The only thing I thought should have been different (aside from wishing it were a full length novel) was the amount of time it took them to fall in love. There could have just been a paragraph describing them talking and walking through the gardens together each day for a month or so before they felt like they loved each other. One day doesn't seem like enough.

I read an ARC copy of this story. I really enjoyed it. Charlotte was a fun character. I liked that she had spunk. I loved how Sean could get Charlotte to respond even when she was trying not too. This is a beautiful love story. I can't wait to read the other novellas in this collection!

Moonlit Seduction- Nathan Squiers and Megan J. Parker

This dynamic duo has done it gain with a whole new series. This is a magical story that kept me turning each page to find out what would be happening next. The heat and passion in this story is incredible. I was completely enchanted by the words that floated off the pages.

The characters were phenomenal. I loved the strength, love and sexual drives that flowed off each character.

The story-line was remarkable. I was completely in awe with this story and all the love and compassion that showed throughout the story. I absolutely loved this story and I highly recommend it. This is not a story for the faint of heart nor anyone under the age of 18.

CAUTION: READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED

The author provided me with a digital ARC copy of the book for review purposes only. No remuneration was exchanged.

Immortal ties by Jane Hinchey
Well, a beginning was hard for me to connect Black and Carter, but... after some read they blew my mind!
We have here everything - love, feelings neglection, different species, and one unclassified.
What is she? The human with powers? How can she have those powers with no paranormal DNA?
This one was interesting PNR read in the end!
Would love to have more of them!

Immortal Ties – Jane Hinchey

Hinchey has done it again. I voluntarily received this ARC and was thoroughly wrapped up in the story from the time I started till I put it down not even realizing the time. It was that good. Love the dynamics between Carter and Raven. We already knew he was a Werewolf, but Raven was an anomaly until almost the end. All I can say is just “Wow!” with the action, suspense, betrayal, additional characters. It was non-stop and the heat was an additional plus without taking over the story. Kudos once again to Hinchey for the thrill ride that lasted for more hours than I usually give a book at one glance.

I have read Immortal Ties so far and if the rest of this box set is even half as good than you should grab it! That being said, Raven's story sucked me in and I had to finish this story! The pace was fast moving and I just loved this character. Carter her partner was also likeable and the chemistry was hot! I had a hard time putting this story down to do some work. Lots of action and a HEA that I truly enjoyed. Hope to see more of this storyline from the author.

Review of Immortal Ties by Jane Hinchey

I have read all of Jane Hinchey's books and loved them but never had a favourite (except possibly" Returned") until now. I don't know what made Immortal Ties special but it just was. I read the book very quickly as it pulled me in immediately and wouldn't let go until the end.
The plot was good, the characters well-drawn and interesting and the mix of supernatural species worked well. I liked Raven and Carter and their professional relationship and how it developed into so much more during the course of the story. I also liked Nate as soon as he was introduced. The mystery surrounding Raven's origins was a nice twist, different from other stories I've read. The SIA, policing the supernatural world, and the mysterious Council were intriguing and the crimes Raven and Carter were investigating were interesting enough alone without the personal dynamics.
I liked the ending very much, with no cliffhanger as this is meant to be a standalone. But, as always with Jane's books, there are so many possibilities to turn it into a series that I am hoping for more from Raven and her world.
If you have not read any of Jane's books before, the quality of this novel is representative of all her work. Well written, well plotted, exciting and different and well worth a few hours of anybody's time. Treat yourself today.
I received an advance copy of Immortal Ties but am voluntarily reviewing it and the views are my own.

* I only read "Lady of Breken Manor" by Heather B. Moore, so my review is only for that story.

When Sean inherits a manor in Scotland, he plans to put it up for sale as soon as possible. Even when he and his fiancee are warned that the manor is haunted by a ghost who won't let them sell, Sean isn't really concerned. However, when he actually MEETS the ghost--Lady Charlotte--and finds out about the curse that keeps her tied to the manor, he finds his plans changing.

I don't really read much paranormal stuff--ghosts and the like aren't really my thing--but I really enjoyed this story. I thought Charlotte's back story was interesting, and I really liked the humorous moments, like when Sean would bait Charlotte to get her talk and she just couldn't help herself. If you're in the mood for a light-hearted contemporary paranormal romance that you can read in an hour or so, check this out.

I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Review for Lady of Breken Manor by Heather B. Moore

This is a great paranormal romance! Charlotte was intriguing, and Sean certainly found her to be. I loved his determination to find Charlotte and get her to talk to him. Of course, since Sean was alive and Charlotte a ghost, I wondered how they would end up making a life together. I knew something would happen to make it possible. And it did! Something that made sense and was plausible (in a paranormal universe.) I loved the ending!! It was so sweet, and Sean’s reaction just melted my heart.

I received a copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.

Immortal Ties Review
Raven Black, abandoned as a baby, put into the foster care system until she ran away and came of age. Now she works for the SIA (Supernatural Investigation Agency). Raven has a growing attraction to her partner, Alex Carter, but she’s determined to resist it. But how long can she hold out, when that attraction seems to call to her at every turn? But it’s not just her who feels the pull. Things have to take a backseat though, when they catch a werewolf tormenting humans. They learn that humans have been disappearing, but there’s more to it. Some are disappearing and turning up dead in weird ways. Then suddenly the Director of the SIA demands that Raven submit to more tests. She tells Raven that the Council has demanded that all unclassified paranormals be tested until identified. Since Raven is the only one who fits this, she feels that something isn’t right. Can Raven figure out who is behind all the things that are going on? Or will she herself fall victim to them should she get too close?
Immortal Ties by Jane Hinchey is an engaging paranormal romance novel. Raven Black is a unique character that keeps you engaged in the story. The chemistry between Raven and Carter is intense and you can literally feel it burning off the pages. The author does a good job writing this story. It’s an easy story to read and enjoy. As you read the story, you get vibes about the characters and it helps to pull you more into the story. I like the twist that the author throws in there. I was honestly hoping that things would have an interesting twist and the author does not disappoint.
The only thing that I would say that I didn’t like about this book is that things speed up at the end. I was hoping that we would get to go along with the story as it happens, but things jump ahead. I feel that since the author chose to do this that it should have said “so many months later.” I feel that it would have made for a better transition for the story. Other than that this story is written well, and there are no editorial issues.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed this story. I just wish that there would be more stories with these characters or the ones who become part of the story. I think that it would be a truly engaging series to read and follow along. If you are a fan of this author and/or have enjoyed reading her Hearts on Fire series I highly recommend you pick up this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Lady of Breken Manor by Heather B. Moore was released in the Secret Legends Boxed Set. I am only reviewing this story within the boxed set.

Lady Charlotte is a ghost destined to haunt a house due to a curse. She usually runs everyone out of the house by appearing and scaring them off to sell but there has been a couple of owners who she's seemed to get along with more than others. Lady Charlotte finds a new owner coming to inspect the house with his fiancé and though she takes a liking to him, she doesn't approve of the woman.

Sean goes to Scotland to visit the manor that an eccentric uncle left him in his will. Only wanting to make some improvements and see to some upgrades then sell to be able to settle down with his fiancé, Michelle, he comes to do exactly that except he comes to find Lady Charlotte. Plans change as Sean gets to know Lady Charlotte and finds out why she's really haunting the manor.

I have read a book similar to this one and wondered how it would end for the ghost... Lady Charlotte, but Heather pulls it off and surprised me with the ending. I loved the development of the characters in this short novella and found that they had lots of depth, so much so that I didn't want to have the story end. I love paranormal books, especially romances. I know anyone who picks up this novella will not be able to put it down until their finished and left with a smile on their face.

I received a review copy of this book, but my thoughts and opinions are completely my own and unbiased.

Nowhere Nara by Debra Kristi

First I wanna say hats off to Mrs. Debra Kristi. This story was different from her other stories but yet the same. Still a fantasy feel but a fantasy/mystery/romance, I loved it, it has a “gripping” story feel. You wanted to keep reading just to find out who did what to who, everybody was guilty. It was a very interesting read.

This story starts off with a bang, it begins in a good place where the crime has occurred but there are many many suspects. You go though the story wanting answers and pointing fingers, it had the whole clue vibe. It was Colonel Mustard with a candlestick in the lounge.

There was romance and I loved the chemistry between Dylan and Nara it was a love for centuries. The many trials they have to face just to be together just doesn’t seem fair but I guess that’s life. The story is a whirlwind of imagination that brings to light the true outcome of the puzzle and you find out once and for all the answer. Believe me when I tell you you’d never guess the outcome. The ending was just as gripping and it was a good one. I try to remain mysterious as to give nothing of the story away but you won’t be disappointed.

First off you should know that I don't choose this genre very often, if ever. That being said, I really loved the story "Lady of Breken Manor" by Heather B. Moore. This is a paranormal romance that is so fun to read. Lady Charlotte was cursed by her mother on her death bed for something that her father did. Lady Charlotte cannot pass over until she is loved, so she mostly just haunts everyone that comes to the Manor. She plays tricks on them because she is so bored. When Sean seeks out Breken Manor in Scotland to prepare to sell the inheritance he received from his uncle Lady Charlotte takes a disliking to his fiance Michele. Within no time at all Michele is cast out of the Manor and Lady Charlotte is seen by Sean. The love story that they experience is heartwrenching and delightful. So whether or not you believe love can win over death, you must read to decide for yourself. I really enjoyed this novel and may seek out this genre in the future.

3.5 stars. If you love PNR and Urban Fantasy this is a set of stories you have to get! Add in some diverse writers and it gets even better. The variety of authors and storylines will keep you riveted for many hours. Some violence and adult themes so 18+. You cannot go wrong with this set. There are stories for everyone included. Some of the stories contain violence and sex, so definitely 18+.

So far I have only read Immortal Ties by Jane Hinchey. But that story alone is worth the cost of this set, and you get way more stories than just that one. And since I purchased the set, I plan to read the other stories as well

REVIEW FOR IMMORTAL TIES: This is a PNR story with a HEA. There is violence and sex in this one, so 18+. While this is a standalone, it is open-ended for future books. I hope the author continues to write more about these characters.

I only read Lady of Breken Manor. I usually don’t like paranormal romances except for time travel, but I really liked this one. Architect Sean McKinley travels from California to Scotland, together with his fiancée, to see Breken Manor which he inherited from his great uncle. He plans to fix it up and sell it and is surprised when the first local he meets tells him that the “Lady” won’t allow it. He is even more surprised to learn that this “Lady” refers to Lady Charlotte, a ghost!

Lady Charlotte is pleased to see that Old McKinley’s great nephew is a handsome young fellow. After 200 years of hanging around Breken Manor, it was about time. Still, she didn’t believe that he could be the one to break her curse and end her ghostly existence at the Manor. But what if he could?

Secret Legends - I have read items by English, Santos, Thorn, Beck, Parker and Squires, and Zoltack. I find them to be good authors. My favorite author is Jane Hinchey, she's great.

Jane Hinchey, Immortal Ties - What a story, with lots of humor and sass, too! A well written romance and police story set with humans and paranormals. Interesting characters, believable dialog and a plot that mesmerizes the reader until the last page. The suspense is thick with both the possible romance and the crimes. Another fabulous book from a pretty good author; seldom does one of her books disappoint the reader. Has an overview of the story, which I appreciate knowing what the book is about before I read it. I volunteered to read this author's work. 5*

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

So I started with Jane Hinchey's Immortal Ties, and I'm between a 3 and 4 with it. I thought the sex scenes and sexual tension were great, and Raven's emotional hangups were pretty interesting. The plot line and the way it lead from one point to another was good, I enjoyed myself overall, sometimes amazingly. I had a few issues with the main character's attitude sometimes and how I kept coming out of the reading because something made me question the whys and hows of it. Very distracting. Otherwise a good fast-paced read with some tweaks.

Immortal Ties by Jane Hinchey

This was such a great read as it had plenty of mystery, sexual tension, some great twists and action. I really enjoyed the characters, I think Raven was great how she had this hard exterior which she built while growing up and Alex this bad ass wolf shifter who wants what he wants be damned what the pack think. The story flowed so well and kept me hooked as I needed to know what would happen next and hopefully find out what Raven really is!

I hope there are more books about Raven, Alex and Nate as I think they could have plenty more adventures!

This review is for "The Lady of Breken Manor"

I always really enjoy Heather Moore's books and this novella was no exception. This is a fun paranormal romance. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions with each other. Charlotte is spunky and full of personality and "stuck", unable to move on because of a curse. She has seen many owners come and go over the many years she has inhabited Breken Manor, Sean is just the newest one. He doesn't know if he should believe that the manor is haunted, but he keeps an open mind and forges a seemingly unlikely friendship with Charlotte.

I am reviewing "The Lady of Breken Manor" only.

I felt like the first part of the story was playful and light-hearted, which I liked, and the last part was serious and dramatic, which I wasn't as big a fan of. I also didn't care for the end...there seemed to be no reason for it. And I think the whole thing would have been better without Michele, or if she were a platonic friend instead of a fiancee.

Content: an instance of mild language. No sex.

Another great story from Jane Hinchey - Immortal Ties.
I loved the way the main heroine was portrayed. Raven was everthing you want
in a female lead. Combine that with a couple of hunky guys named Carter and Nate who
just happen to be a werewolf and vampire, the story keeps you guessing what is going on
and also who does Raven end up with.
This story is a must read and I recommend all of Jane's stories. I have yet to be disappointed.
