Miranda and Nolan have been the best of friends for almost a year. Nolan has been interested in being amigos that spend naked time together since the two first met, but Miranda’s hectic life had her friend-zoning him from the get go.

Now ten months later, Miranda and Nolan both want to move their relationship to the next level but either wants to disrupt the friendship. When Miranda’s parents decide to come for a Christmas visit to meet Miranda’s new, completely fictional fiancé, Nolan has no problem agreeing to play the part.

Mistletoe Me, Baby is a sweet holiday novella that’s perfect for folks with Christmas spirit to spare. The story takes place in Holly, North Carolina where it’s Xmas all year round! Yay? To be fair, Miranda and Nolan’s romance never suffers from too much holiday spirit as Miranda has a bit of family drama to deal with.

For those looking for the perfect man, look no further than Nolan. Seriously, I couldn’t find a single fault with the guy and to be honest, the lack of any imperfections AT ALL made this kind of a slow read for me, even given the short length.

I guess I need a bit of asshole to keep me interested. Who knew?

I definitely recommend this to those looking for a sweet holiday read with a hot bit of romance thrown in.

4 - "I don't need mistletoe as an excuse to kiss you." Stars!

Mistletoe Me, Baby, brings us the last of the O’Connor siblings stories, and I absolutely adored the story that Nolan was given.

I have to say I have loved this series, I originally read the first book when it was released in a multi author anthology; All He Wants For Christmas a few years ago, so was really pleased when Katie decided to expand on her original offering and give the rest of the brothers and sister their own HEA’s, as well as revisit the town of Holly, North Carolina because it just makes me think all things Christmas.

Being with her was his own personal addiction… One he didn’t plan to give up.

Nolan has had the hots for Miranda ever since she came to town, but being guardian for her nephew, and making sure everything is well in his life after a less than happy upbringing with her sister, Miranda has pretty much sworn off men for the forseeable. Doesn’t stop her having dirty fantasies about Nolan though, not that she would ever tell him.

If he lost her because of this, it would carve him up. But he couldn’t play this coward routine anymore…

All bets are off however, when her parents stop by for a surprise visit, expecting to meet the fiancé that she made up in an effort to get her mother off her back a few months previously, and Nolan is more than happy to step into the role to save Miranda from having to explain herself. But Nolan isn’t playing, and Miranda is not sure whether his actions in front of her parents (and behind them) are strictly for show, or mean something more… something Nolan plans to set her straight on without wasting anymore time.

"You’re mine to take care of."

This was a quick read, Katie loaded on the emotions in the second half though, when you really do understand the meaning of family, and supporting those you love through the darkest of times. As always the Christmassy setting added a little magic and sparkle, and like usual I loved the authors writing, story and characterizations.

ARC generously provided by the author, and it was as it always is my pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I truly enjoyed this book. My only complaint is that it was too short.

~No OW/OM drama.

~Awesome, protective and possessive hero. He was relentless in his chase.

"The woman who’d completely stolen his heart with that first smile. She was his happily ever after.”~Nolan.

~Pushing away done by her.

~Ok heroine.

Nolan and Miranda have been friends since she moved to Holly. She has guardianship of her nephew and her life is rather too complicated to date so Nolan accepts that they will be friends and nothing more. However, when Miranda must present a fiancé to her family, he sees the opportunity to change the status quo. As all good alpha heroes do, he begins claiming her inch by inch until she’s not sure just what the heck is going on. When tragedy strikes, the relationship is strained and they both are struggling to figure out where things go from there.

The first half of this was lighthearted and fun with enough steamy goodness to boil your hot chocolate. However, things definitely take a darker turn and the strength of what they’ve started is tested. I enjoyed this quick read and was surprised by the dramatic turn it took. With “Mistletoe Me, Baby” as a title I was expecting all tinsel and glitter. It was actually quite a pleasant surprise. I would have loved if this had been worked into a full book. Gotta say though, unless I missed it, there wasn’t a twig of mistletoe to be found in the story except at the end and even that wasn’t real. Overall, it didn’t really matter. There was just too much Nolan deliciousness to complain about anything.

This was my favourite of the series.

I liked the characters and how they found themselves getting the push they needed.

Miranda has told her parents she’s engaged. So when they spring a last minute visit on her she has to find said fiancé.

Luckily she gave the name of her longtime crush Nolan. Nolan is only too happy to step into the role he’s wanted for so long. Only he’s no intention of stepping back when her parents leave.

Katie Reus is one of my top favorite authors. She has a knack for writing the dominant Alphas I love without turning them into jerks. Her Alphas are protective and really know how to take care of their woman, while staking a claim that tells every male in vicinity to back off. Now that’s sexy!

I gotta admit, I was a bit worried she was changing things up with this book when Nolan stayed as just a friend at first. I never should have doubted. Once Nolan found his opening to stake his claim, Miranda didn’t know what hit her.

My favorite part of this book was when tragedy struck. We truly got to see how much Nolan loved Miranda and how he took care of her even when she pushed him away. There is no way you won’t fall for Nolan.

This is a novella, so the friends only part is short and the pushing away is even shorter. The tragedy is sad but won’t bring the story down. This is a standalone but she has a book on each sibling in the O’Connor Family. You’re gonna want to check them all out.

Mistletoe Me, Baby by Katie is a sweet and heartwarming friends to lovers read and I loved it.

The storyline was entertaining all throughout, the writing is well done and the characters are likable, relatable and their chemistry was smoking.

I loved Miranda and Nolan, they shared a beautiful friendship that has up to now been enough. Nolan is tired of holding his back his feelings and he's willing to put their friendship on the line by opening his heart to Miranda.
Little does Nolan know that Miranda has also been holding back, she was scared of losing him by taking that next step.
These two truly had me swooning, I loved them together and I have no doubt they would have a very happy life together.

If you're like me and enjoy friends to lovers storylines, you will definitely want to read this one.
Mistletoe Me, Baby is a great addition to the O'Connor Family series, I highly recommend it.

If a sweet, heartfelt Christmas story (with no steam) is what you're after, this book could fit the bill.

Nolan was a great hero. While I like my heroes alpha, he did show some signs of being a "take charge" kind of guy. He had feelings for Miranda for 10 months and never pursued her - I like my heroes to go for it. Once he finally decided to tell her how he felt, he didn't back down and was all in. He was a stand up guy and was NOT a manwhore.

Miranda was a pretty good heroine. She was so loving to her nephew, who she took in when here sister went to rehab. She had crushed on Nolan but never told him, so she was confused when their fake engagement started feeling real. She was sweet and kind, however, when tragedy struck I thought she was mean to Nolan. Thankfully, he didn't give up on her.

- no cheating
- no ow/om drama whatsoever
-slight pushing away by heroine
- no steam
- no violence
-safe
-epilogue was lacking. It was a couple months out and left me wanting more. Was disappointed in that.

Edited 7.26.18- Tons of auto correct weirdness going on with my phone. Apologies.

1.5 stars. Sweet and safe, but too much sex for me to have to skip. Not enough character or plot development made this a bit boring too. Upside? Now I can say I read the series and that this author is probably not for me.

\Mistletoe Me, Baby is the fourth book in the O'Connor family series and it can be read as a stand-alone book. This is the story of Miranda and Nolan, two best friends who are about to become more. They have known each other for months now but refused to act on their attraction because it might have ruined their friendship so things remained platonic until Nolan realized that he might lose her to another man. There is no cheating or another woman or man, so don't worry about my comment. In fact, both of them didn't have any partners after they first met. The whole fake-fiance thing comes later in the book. Well, not much later since Mistletoe Me, Baby is a short book, but the foundation for Nolan's plan to make Miranda his has been already been set. I enjoyed reading this book very much, but I was not happy with the tragedy that stroked Miranda. For some reason, it felt cheap to me and it had almost no effect to the characters after the initial shock wore off. Despite that, I would recommend the book. It put me in a festive spirit. It had a good pace and the main characters were very likable.

This is one part of O'Connor family series. Fake fiance is one of my favorite tropes. Nolan is just great. I love seeing the rest of the O'Connors. Miranda is quite a wonderful person. Neither of them has been in a serious relationship so I enjoyed watching them grow and deal with their feelings.

Another sweet addition to the O'Connor family series! If you enjoy small town romance, meddling family members, and a fake relationship, Mistletoe Me, Baby is perfect for a weekend read by the fire!

Miranda moved to Holly, NC about a year prior. She has taken on the task of raising her nephew while her drug addict sister goes to rehab. She adores her nephew and her life in Holly. Her best friend, Nolan, is oh so tempting; however, Miranda knows that she can't date right now. And she would never want to ruin the most important relationship in her life. So, she and Nolan are just BFF's. Until Miranda's meddlesome parents arrive from Florida. See, Miranda told them Nolan was her fiancé. Nolan is all too happy to 'play along'. Except, Nolan isn't faking anything.

This was a cute fake relationship because Nolan never wanted to fake anything. Miranda isn't sure what the heck he is doing because she had no idea he had any interest in her romantically. So, watching these two flounder a bit was entertaining. With Miranda's mom and dad in town, things were already interesting. However, add in the O'Connors and you have quite the party! You get to see all the previous O'Connor siblings and that adds some levity to the story. It is a novella so brevity is the name of the game, but I didn't feel short changed on character development. I think thats why I have enjoyed this series so much!

Honestly, it doesn't seem to matter what Katie Reus writes- Contemporary, PNR, Romantic Suspense-I enjoy it! She is one of my automatic 1 click authors for sure!

Another one out of the ballpark for Katie Reus!

This the fourth book of the O'Connor series. I love this series. It just keeps getting better and better.

It's Christmas in Holly, North Carolina. It's Christmas every day there. It's an ongoing thing for the town. But this year is different for Nolan and Miranda, who have been friends for the past ten months.

Miranda needs Nolan to pose as her fiance when her parents make a surprise visit. Nolan is up for it, but he wants to make it real and he wants to make it forever. He's been in love with her for a long time. Miranda has feelings for Nolan, too, but she's more dedicated to raising her nephew, Mateo. Miranda's sister just isn't a good mother and did the boy a favor by leaving him with Miranda. While Nolan is playing the doting fiance (even though he really isn't playing), Miranda wonders if he realizes that if he settles down with her, she's a package deal.

Sadness and tragedy ensue for Miranda. Nolan is steadfast and stays by her side, doing what needs to be done, and helping her through the trauma. He's backed down from his hot pursuit to be respectful and makes Miranda wonder if he's had a change of heart.

This is a quick read. I had it finished in just a couple of hours. I loved the characters. The story was great and the plot was engrossing. I wanted to see what happened next.

It's a great way to spend an afternoon.

Nolan sometimes doesn't want to let his woman up, “you don’t need to get that.” Nolan wrapped an arm around her from behind, pressing his naked chest up against her bare back." I liked this little novella Nolan doesn't take no for an answer, and was persistent.

This is the fourth book in the O'Connor Family series and I think it's my favorite so far. With both a friends to lovers and fake fiance tropes, I was happy.

Miranda moved to Holly, NC almost a year ago, but a few months later, her sister left her with her eleven year old son Mateo. Dealing with becoming a single mother, er, aunt, around the same time as meeting Nolan O'Connor, Miranda thought it would be too much. She and Nolan became best friends instead.

But circumstances changed when Nolan overheard Miranda making a date with someone. If she was ready to date, it was going to be with him. His inner cave man came out and he realized she was the one for him. She was special to him, and he'd been giving her space because he thought that's what she wanted. But maybe he needed to make his own intentions known.

Miranda's mom decided to drop in for a surprise visit, and since Miranda moved to Holly to put some space between her mom and herself, it's not really the most welcome visit. But it's her mom, so what can she do? Other than find a fake fiance that is. To get her mom off her back about dating, she made up a fiance. A fiance named Nolan ;)

While Miranda thinks he's just putting on a show, Nolan is trying to show Miranda what she means to him. Everything is going perfectly until tragedy strikes. Can their fake relationship survive reality?

I liked this one a lot. It's cute, it's sweet, and it's sexy. I like this series, and I really liked Nolan and Miranda together.

If you want a cute and easy read to stay warm in this Polar Vortex weatherbomb, grab this one!

If you are after some Christmas cheer to get you ready for the Holiday season, this book is bound to get you in the spirit. It has hot alphas, an adorable boy, and a whole town that’s all about Christmas. There is lots of snow, hot chocolate, ice skating, and all the Christmas Trimmings (including the aforementioned hot alpha to help you decorate). Things do get deep for a bit, but the strong, loving hero is there with lots of hugs and support to get you through it.

This is a best-friends-to-lovers story. The extremely patient hero, Nolan, decides it’s time to go after the object of his desire, Miranda. He takes full advantage of the opportunity given to him when Miranda asks him to be her fake fiancee while her parents visit. Once he made the decision to quit pussyfooting around, he threw everything at her making sure that when her parents left, they’d still be together.

Miranda had a lot going on in her life since her move to Holly. She had suddenly found herself the guardian of her 11-year-old nephew, Mateo, and all her energy was focused on him. Life had not been kind to Mateo in his short life and Miranda was determined to make sure he not only fully recovered physically and mentally but thrived from here on out. Because of this, she didn’t feel a relationship would be in the cards for her.

I did find myself a tad bit frustrated at Nolan and Miranda’s constant failure to communicate but I also understood there were all sorts of issues happening. Neither was upfront with their feelings before the fake fiancee thing came up and this didn’t really change for quite awhile.

This was cute and entertaining with just a touch of drama to keep things interesting. As the holiday season gets into full swing this is a quick, easy and heartwarming read for when the mood strikes or when you need an infusion of holiday spirit.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and kept you interested. The story has laughs and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Merry Christmas, Baby (O'Connor Family #1)
Tease Me, Baby (O'Connor Family #2)
It's Me Again, Baby (O'Connor Family #3)

This is Miranda and Nolan’s story. Miranda makes up a fake fiancé to keep her family off her back about relationships. But little did she know that her family was going to show up to see her and meet her fiancé. Now she needs a man. She asks her best friend Nolan to help her out just until her family goes back home. What Miranda does not know is Nolan is playing for keeps. He has loved her for a while and just needs her to see him and fall for him. What happens when it all becomes too real. Will Miranda push him away? Just when he might get everything he wanted tragedy strikes and he just might lose everything if she does not allow him to help her cope. Will she allow him to help her out? Does she want him forever or is this the end of a fake relationship and back to only friends?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

This sweet, sexy friends-to-lovers holiday romance is lovely. Set in a Kinkaide-like town where Christmas lasts all year round, this story is all kinds of feel good, cozy romance. He’s sweet and supportive when she needs him to be her friend or her rock, growly and take charge when she needs it, and respectful and caring all the time—the ideal alpha hero.

I love the fake-fiancee trope. It works especially well with friends-to-lovers romances, and Miranda and Nolan generate some serious heat together. Their friendship is so easy-going, yet their relationship is all steam and urgency.

Sweet and sexy with a serious twist, Mistletoe Me, Baby is the perfect cozy holiday read. It’ll warm you up and squeeze your heart. This story is part of a series, but you can easily read it as a standalone. And you’ll probably want to read the romances of Nolan’s brothers and sister after meeting his awesome family.

Mistletoe Me, Baby (The O'Connor Family) by Katie Reus
Tis the season for miracles.  Mistletoe Me, Baby is another example of exceptional writing.  Ms. Reus has sentiment on the brain and love in the heart.  Nolan and Miranda are each others safe haven when the world gets tough.  In the midst of pain they find hope for the future, food for the soul and an everlasting love that can weather any storm including grief. Through rainstorm of life they discover the value of the bond they've spent years building and the family they can become.  A winner all year round.

4th in the O’Connor family series. Contemporary romance. Friends to lovers story. Can be read as a stand alone.

I really love when the hero is all in. Nolan has been in love with Miranda since he first met her. Pretending to be her fiancé works to his advantage in amping up their relationship. And wow, his “are you wet” frisky questions sure get things started.

Great extended family connections with deep emotional ties help make this romance extra special. I smiled through much of the book. Shed a couple of tears. In the end, it feel like a big, giant hug of crushing warmth that I wanted to snuggle into and savor.

I laughed, cried, and need a cold shower. Awesome story in a town that celebrates Christmas all year round. Miranda runs a community center and is raising her eleven year old nephew. Her sister goes to rehab for drug addiction and drops of her son Mateo. Nolan owns a construction company and is a coach at the center. He has been in love with Miranda since he met her ten months ago. But she told him she wasn’t wanting a relationship right now.
Her parents surprise her and want to meet the fiancé she’s told them about. So she has to find a fake fiancé before they arrive. Nolan overhears and says he’ll do it. This is his chance to get closer to her and make her fall for him. She just wants him to meet her parents and then say they broke up but Nolan has other ideas. He puts an engagement ring on her finger and he plans to keep it there.

I have been all about the holiday romances lately (especially the novellas), and could not wait to read Katie Reus’s newest holiday novella, Mistletoe Me, Baby, that released in November. This one is a sweet, Christmas read, but it isn’t a story that will stick with me.

Mistletoe Me, Baby is about Nolan O’Connor who has been secretly in love with Miranda Flores for awhile now. Miranda became the legal guardian of her nephew about a year ago, and it’s completely changed the focus of her life. She’s been dedicated to helping her nephew feel safe and comfortable in his new home, and hasn’t been thinking of dating for herself. Nolan and Miranda have become good friends. Miranda told her mother that she had a boyfriend to get her off her back, but now that her mother is coming for a visit, she needs someone to step in. Of course Nolan does, and of course they fall for each other.

This was just a really cute read. I liked Nolan and Miranda a lot. I thought it was just wonderful how Miranda stepped up to take care of her nephew when her sister was having so many issues. It was wonderful to see how great a relationship she and her nephew have. Nolan was fantastic too. He’s helped Miranda out so much, as a friend, but now he’s feeling like he needs to let her know how he feels. When the “opportunity” presents itself to play her fake-fiance, he can’t pass it up.

Nolan and Miranda were absolutely adorable together. I was rooting for them from day one. It was very easy to see how they would make a great couple. All that said, there were times where if they just confessed their true feelings, a lot of conflict wouldn’t have happened, though. That was a bit frustrating, but not overly so.

Overall, I really enjoyed Mistletoe Me, Baby by Katie Reus. If you liked the other novellas in this series, you will enjoy this one. But I don't think they are quite as good as the majority of her Red Stone Security series. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 7, 2017

She needs a fake fiancé…

With the holidays fast approaching, Miranda Flores makes up a fake fiancé so her well-meaning family will get off her back. She just never expected them to suddenly show up on her doorstep a couple weeks before Christmas, wanting to spend the holidays with her. So she turns to Nolan O’Connor, her sexy best friend, and asks him for the favor of a lifetime: she needs him to act the part of her fiancé until her parents leave town.

He wants forever…

Pretending to be engaged to the woman he’s already fallen for? No problem. Nolan agrees to Miranda’s fake engagement scheme because as far as he’s concerned, she’s the one. But he plays his role too well, because soon the entire town thinks they’re engaged and things get more complicated—especially since he can’t pretend with her anymore. Then tragedy strikes and Miranda tries to shut him out, but Nolan won’t let her. He’ll do whatever it takes to convince her that he wants to make her his forever.

REVIEW: MISTLETOE ME, BABY is the fourth instalment (and novella) in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult O’CONNOR FAMILY romance series focusing on the O’Connor family of Holly, North Carolina. This is Miranda Flores, and Nolan O’Connor’s story line. MISTLETOE ME, BABY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Miranda and Nolan) MISTLETOE ME BABY follows the fake engagement between co-workers at the local community centre Miranda Flores, and Nolan O’Connor. Ten months earlier, to escape her smothering family Miranda left Florida to set down roots in Holly, North Carolina-a small town that celebrates Christmas year round. As full-time guardian to her sister’s eleven year-old son Mateo, Miranda spends most of her time working to support a child she loves as her own. When Miranda’s parents announce a surprise holiday visit, our heroine panics in the face a lie she told to keep her mother off of her back-Miranda needs a fiancé, and the perfect man for the job is her best friend Nolan O’Connor-the man with whom Miranda is secretly in love. What ensues is the building friends to lovers relationship between Miranda and Nolan-a relationship that has simmered for close to ten months, and the potential fall out when Miranda places an end date on their ‘fake’ romance.

MISTLETOE ME, BABY is a story of family and friendship; heartbreak and grief; love and happily ever after. Tragedy will strike the Flores family leaving a grieving family struggling with the loss but none more so than our story line heroine. The premise is sweet, engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful, real and charismatic; the romance is passionate and seductive without the use of sexually graphic, over the top language and text. MISTLETOE ME, BABY is a quick read; a wonderful holiday love story; a welcome addition to the O’Connor Series by Katie Reus.
