I was so awestruck that no less than the fantastic urban fantasy/YA author Kelley Armstrong helped us get our Morganville digital series off the ground, and she then donated the custom hardcover to one of her readers. She allowed me to choose the characters for this story, and I decided to explore one that I particularly love and have never written in point of view: Hannah Moses. This is a mystery story with Hannah as our detective, unravelling the story of a girl left for dead and a mysterious peddler of anti-vampire drugs, with bonus Monica Morrell, being heroic against her will, mostly. Glimpses inside the Morganville Police Department we’ve not previously been able to see, too. I love mystery stories, and getting to write one like this was a total treat. Thanks, Kelley!
Hannah Moses, the chief police of Morganville finally has her own short story. Hannah was first introduced in book 5, and I liked her. She was badass in that book, but since then, it's not often that we read about her. In this book, she was investigating a crime scene where Monica Morell had helped the unconscious victim to call for help, as we all aware, it's not often that She's that caring. Anyway, this story was more about Hannah and her principle to help the human being, protect them from the vamps even when they committed crimes. She's brave for defying Oliver's order, and I admired her for that.
Hannah Moses is someone we definitely didn’t get enough of. Though her being coldly willing to sacrifice Claire over the water vamps (forgot what they’re called) was a bit rough. Generally though, Hannah does what’s right. And in this one she goes toe to toe with Oliver over a human who committed a crime against another human. (See, every other book I read I change my opinion of Oliver lol). Anyway solid quick little read also in Midnight Bites.
This is a short story with Chief Hannah Moses's POV. Since Hannah isn't part of the Glass House gang the story falls a little flat. Three out of four of the group make an appearance, however this story is all to do with Hannah. It was different because of who the suspect ended up being, since it wasn't the usual suspects.
