Another fun read with my little guy!

The whole book is a video game played by a young boy who really should be cleaning his room. He bargains with his mom for extra game time and takes us with him as he helps Super Rabbit Boy fight his way through the mirror world. (Don’t worry parents, he cleans his room eventually.)

Read on the recommendation of a few kids. I am not the target audience, but I can see why students would be obsessed. It's basically a video game in book form. Love these Branches series.

It was a great book, I liked it. It was a video game.

I gave this 4 stars because I didn't understand how one of the characters knew something that wasn't even in their world. I really liked that there were Mirror Worlds.

Not my favorite in the series, but still a clever little story. My son (almost 2nd grade) loves these!

This is one of those books that you read because your kids like the book but you would never pick it up to read on your own. My 7 year old son talked me into buying this book after we missed a ferry and went to a bookstore to pass the time. Upon sitting down on the ferry he gobbled the book up in one sitting and then made me check the library catalog on my phone to see if they had the rest of the series so we could pick them up on our way home. Unfortunately they were't all available right away but as soon as we got them he immediately read two of them aloud to his little sister. By the time he got to the fourth book of the series, I decided that I wanted to check out what was going on to make this series so appealing to my children. This is what I discovered. First of all, all the illustrations look like they come straight out of a video game. (What kid isn't going to like that especially ones like mine who rarely ever get to play video games. So getting to read a book that looks like a video game was about the next best thing for them.) Second of all, it has the same reappearing characters and similar plot lines which makes them predictable which is something that my 4 year old likes. Both kids also think the books are pretty funny with fun dialogue throughout. Unfortunately my brain kept wandering to other places so I kept losing track of what was happening. My kids loved correcting me when I'd ask a question about one of the characters. I think they had some background information from other books in the series which I didn't have so maybe that was another reason I couldn't follow it as well. My son informed me that this book was not nearly as good as the others, so I guess I should have gotten in on the action a few books earlier. For parents and teachers thinking about buying this book, I think its content would appeal to children K-3 but is probably best suited for students transitioning from picture books to chapter books since there is still a lot of pictures throughout the book.

{My thoughts} – This book is a bit different in terms of the storyline. The game within the book reminds me of a cross between Animal Crossing and Mario. The more of the series you read, the more this becomes apparent.

The text and illustrations go together nicely when it comes to showing the reader what is going on. I really enjoyed this story. In this book Super Rabbit Boy needs to go rescue some of his friends from King Viking. However, as the game is being played there is a hidden tube.

Once through the tube everything is the complete opposite of what it was before he’d entered. This gave a nice spin on the game and the story.

This book is perfect for fans of both Animal Crossing and all things Mario. Hopefully, your child will enjoy it as much as my little one’s have enjoyed having it read to them.

These books are just so fabulous - both of my kids (now 7 and 5) absolutely went bonkers over the first three which my oldest got for his birthday, so I ordered another 3 for Christmas, but we didn't give them to them until Epiphany (12 days of Christmas are the best!).

So, I'm probably letting my read out loud bias show with this one but I had the worst time with the backwards inverse robots and the robot tongue twisters in this book for some reason. Also the printing on our copy has a wildly strong smell which likely contributed to my not loving this book as much as the previous 3. But it was still very good. While I didn't love the tongue twisters, I did love the crying robots. I wish there had been more to the story from the non- video game perspective, but still a delightful addition to the collection. I expect to find this being read all over my house.

My kids have been reading this on their own, but this was the first one I read. A kid is playing a handheld video game and most of the comic follows the video game. The art is designed to look like eight bit pixels, but the illusion is broken pretty often.

Super Rabbit Boy goes through a pipe and ends up in Mirror World, where King Viking is a good guy and has been kidnapped by Super Rabbit Boy's evil counterpart Super Rabbit Boss.

The book says rabbit and robot so many times on every page that it became a tongue twister for me.

The books in this series have been quick, fun reads for the kids. Kind of a basic comic book style I feel. A kid is playing a video game about Super Rabbit Boy, and in this one the rabbit boy goes into a tunnel that takes him to a world exactly opposite of his own and he battles his evil twin. Pretty fun.

In this book Super Rabbit Boy is teleported to a world that is the opposite of his world. Where the good people of his world are bad and were the bad guys are the good guys. Super Rabbit Boy must take on the boss of this world which is him (Super Rabbit Boss). Can he beat himself and save this world? Will he be able to get back to his world?

Mirror twins are interesting and a bit unexpected in a video game. The family isn’t in this one as much. The video game challenge is more individualized, which makes sense as they figure out being good or bad. I enjoyed book 2 and 3 better, but this is still a pretty good one.

I did not like this book because I don't really like press start books. I also did not like this book because I did not like the part when super rabbit boss kidnapped good king Viking.

4th in the series.
This time Rabbit Boy stumbles into a mirror world where everything is reversed from his video game.

It was decent, but he really should have done his chores before he played the game. He isn't at all responsible.

A fun one. My son continues to eat this series up. It's a great confidence builder for him since he can read them in a day or two.

With the colour rich illustrations-comic elements, and retro gaming premise...this is one of the early reader series I would recommend to younglings + young at heart.
