This second volume of Legends of Magic tells the story of how the original heroes of Equestria came together. It can also be known as The Tale of Star Swirl is a Total Jerk and Almost Destroyed the World Because He's Bad at Friendship. Great read for fans of the television show, and a fun read for younger readers!

The story of how Stygian gathered the ponies of legend for their first fight. This was quite fun to read, but also a bit sad when you know of Stygian’s eventual turn to darkness.

Overall this was just a lot of fun to read.

A considerable better volume which covers how the legends of Equestria came together in the first place. It's much less campy than the previous volume but still intriguing to read nonetheless.

Ended up liking this volume considerably more than the first.

While the first volume introduces all the legends, the second one follows Stygian’s account of how he brought the Pillars of the Pony World together. Rather than a simple frame story connecting the different legends, this one has much more of a continuous flow. The frame story within a frame story worked out here.

Loved getting Stygian’s side of the story and seeing what led him to make the choices he did later in the series.

Wonderful artwork.

An engaging story that really builds out the My Little Pony universe.

Awesome follow-up to the previous volume. It brings together the legends and bridges Equestria and Canterlot High.
