Military Match #3

A SEAL's Honor

Rate this book
Rules are made to be broken . . .
When it comes to dating, ex-Navy SEAL Marcus Denali has a few simple rules. Never date a coworker. Never date a friend's sister. And never ever date a girl whose brother is a coworker, a friend, and a fellow SEAL. So why would Marcus dance so closely---and flirt so shamelessly---with Mandy Lawson? Simple. It's a Fourth of July masquerade ball. He doesn't know she's his buddy's little sister. And once the masks come off, the real fireworks begin . . .

Mandy doesn't care about the rules. She's been crushing on Marcus for years, and she's not giving up now that she has proof he wants her too. She has a plan to show this military man some moves he never learned in basic training. And Marcus is going to learn that some rules-the rules of attraction---are just too strong to fight.

JM Stewart writes heartfelt contemporary romance. Whether the heat level is sizzling or sweet, her stories are always deeply emotional. Her heroes are strong but sensitive (no alpha jerks here!), and her heroines are more Cinderella than Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Recently transplanted, she now lives in a small town in Texas along with her husband, two sons and two very spoiled dogs. When not writing, she enjoys reading, cooking and playing computer games. As a sensitive soul with a romantic heart, she believes in angels and hopes everyone finds their happily ever after.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: cute and quirky single lady has a crush on her older brother’s unattainable and surly BFF.

Oh, and he’s an ex-SEAL who doesn’t “do” relationships.

When our gal decides to throw a little heat his way, he can’t help but succumb to her charms and their brief affair with a pre-determined end date begins.

Going into this, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. These stories are a dime a dozen at this point but I still gravitate to them like a freaking moth to a flame. A SEAL's Honor was every bit as formulaic as I’d anticipated, but that doesn’t change the fact that J.M. Stewart is a solid writer and I ended up enjoying the story quite a bit.

Were there any big surprises? Not so much. But that doesn’t mean these characters were cookie-cutter by any stretch of the imagination. Marcus is a superhot ex-seal who prefers his personal life on the slow and sedate side, which shocked the hell outta me. It was refreshing to get a hero without the over the top manwhore tendencies for once.

Mandy ended up being a little bit of a surprise as well. I loved her up front way of dealing with things and it was lovely not to get a simpering, weak heroine. Hell yes to standing up for what you want.

A SEAL's Honor is a light and entertaining read. While it’s part of a series, this book can most definitely be read as a standalone.

I love this one WAY more than the first book, and it's too short I finished it in an hour. I skipped book 2 by the way, as I was excited to read Mandy's story.

Mandy and Marcus' love story is too cliche. Honestly. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy every bit of this story. I actually think this is perfect and I'm so glad I picked this one up to read during my break from writing. Despite the plot being cliche, the characters made up for it and more. You see Mandy is Marcus' friend's little sister and so when he found out she was his blind date, he couldn't hide his surprise. And that was after flirting with her while their faces were hidden because they're in a masquerade party.

I liked it that Mandy is not the typical kind of girl of whines and sulk when she doesn't get what she wants. She's the kind who does what she can to finally get it. LOL. She's one strong character. not to mention, she has such a good heart. Truly, kind-hearted. Marcus, on the other hand can be a bit obnoxious but not to the point he's annoying. He's actually so sweet and so romantic though he says he's not really good with words and action.. :) :) The ending proves him wrong. That was one sweet ending, I wanna cuddle now. :)

This book is highly recommended from me. It doesn't matter if you read the first 2 books, it's okay, since each book can be read as standalone. :)

*I got this book from the publishers thru Netgalley. Thank You. I really loved it. :)

Mandy Lawson has reached the point where she is very secure in who she is and what she wants from and for her life. She doesn’t back away from a challenge and generally speaks her mind. She isn’t your typical female romance lead. She is intelligent, feisty, a tomboy, loves football, and can fix her own car. I liked that she isn’t your classic beauty and a take charge of her life woman. She has had a crush on Marcus since she met him.

The only consistent/stable person in Marcus Denali’s life is his grandmother. She raised him from the age of 10 when his mom dumped him and his sister on her doorstep and never returned. His dad ran off when he was 7. Marcus is former military, has dealt with some PTSD and continues to have issues with his sister’s suicide. He has a small, tight knit circle of ex-military friends that work in the garage he co-owns with one of them. He’s lusted after Mandy since meeting her but she’s a friend’s little sister and he doesn’t do relationships.

When these two, after dancing around each other for so long, give in to the inevitable, and kiss, sparks fly. They fight it a little longer and then agree to a month long affair and to part ways as friends when it’s over. There was actual intelligent, heartfelt, two way communication going on during their time together. No extraneous angst or side stories just because. Very descriptive, hot, steamy sex scenes. You can feel their connection.

She was a balm to his soul and had a calming, centering, influence on him. She was able to look past his stoic façade to the wounded, big hearted, kind man beneath. He was able to open her eyes to her inner and outer beauty.

Loved the epilogue!

While this is a well worn trope, this author’s writing packs an emotional punch and I will be looking for more books by her. This is the third in the series but my first. While it made me want to go back for the first two books, I easily read this as a standalone.

Can I just say that I love how Mandy and Marcus "met" at the event? They don't exchange names, instead decide to just spend time dancing together. They were set up by a military dating website but little did Marcus know this wasn't really a blind date. They immediately hit it off and the sexual tension quickly rises between them. It's only when Marcus insists they exchange names that he realizes why they get along so well - they've known each other for years, since Mandy is his best friend's little sister.

I thought the story was fairly predictable but I enjoyed reading the back and forth of the characters and the struggles that Marcus was going through given his childhood.

You’ve heard this story before: girl has thing for guy who typically doesn’t do commitment, both get into an agreed sex-only fling for a period of time, girl convinces herself to keep it only physical, but fails, but takes it anyway because he’s what she wanted for so long. It all leads to a climax—sometimes literally—where someone breaks it off, which also happens to be a kick in the arse or an epiphany for the other party who then wakes up and grovels for something he/she had always wanted but denied.

It’s a formula that has worked in romance multiple times despite how often this has been repeated in different contexts, with the details and names differing. ‘A SEAL’s Honor’ is yet another iteration of this, so there are no surprises here, only in how J.M. Stewart steers her characters and the circumstances that shape the coming together of this particular pairing. Stewart however, does throw in some surprises here—and with assured writing that keeps the pages turning—with a steel-spined heroine as the driving force behind the action and a male lead who isn’t afraid to talk.

Older brother’s best friend or not, it was more than impressive to see Mandy Lawson taking charge, insisting on keeping her end of the bargain and pushing for what she wanted the whole time as she pursued Marcus Denali relentlessly the way the heroes in romantic fiction normally do—age gap, differences in outlook be damned. And in the end, it was Mandy who bailed on the arrangement as well, after realising she couldn’t have more than what Marcus was (not) offering. Still, with both protagonists talking an honest game, both Mandy and Marcus were easy to sympathise with—and even like, no matter who took point in steering the development of the relationship.

I did struggle however, with the ‘flip of the switch’ type of ending and this isn’t a struggle that’s confined to this story alone. Can someone’s decades-long belief of not ever being good enough or good in a relationship really change at the snap of the fingers, or after a good talking to? Can years of resentment and accumulation of emotional dirt just fall away when epiphany strikes? Romance stories don’t necessarily always provide a convincing way of showing this when it happens; romantic moments (typically accompanied by waves of emotion) tend to overshadow this niggling bit tends to stay a loose end.

‘A SEAL’s Honor’ nonetheless, is definitely a decent read. It faltered here and there for me, but the maturity of the protagonists was the biggest draw of it all.

It’s Marcus’ turn for romance. Who would have guessed his masquerade date would be his friends lil sister?
Can Marcus see Mandy as more than just one of the guys or as his friends lil sister?
This was a great story with a sexy alpha male who finds love.

The many sides of a talented author are put on display with A Seal's Honor. JM Stewart dives right in with a boldness that is sensually sweet. Marcus and Mandy are caught in a masquerade of their own making. Will the reward prove worthy of the risk? From masquerade balls to close calls, their wicked two step keeps readers on their toes as Ms. Stewart guides them through some heartbreaking woes. From light and flirty to down and dirty, A Seal's Honor delivers seduction with a message. This series is proving to be a match made in heaven.

Pretty much the usual. Girl had a crush on brothers friend when she was younger. They meet again and guy is astounded how she's changed. He doesn't do commitments, the "off-limits" is forgotten and they agree on a sex-only relationship for a period of time that becomes complicated when one decides to pull out of the deal when feelings have become involved.
The story is nicely enough done. The only differences usually are the characters themselves and Navy SEAL Marcus with Mandy were an interesting couple. And this plot does have it's surprises.

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Loved Marcus and how he struggles with his feelings for Mandy but is also honorable to a point with her. Loved Mandy and her tomboy ways but also how she was vulnerable and caring. Boy can she give as good as she takes.

This was a fun loving story. Marcus had a painful past with his mom that has left him scarred. He doesn’t really believe in forever. His grandma is awesome. But he does feel he fails those he loves and that is due to his sister and mom. He is a great guy-kind, caring and sweet but comes off as tough. His attraction for Mandy is through the roof and watching him try to control it at first is entertaining.

Mandy is feisty and fun. She is determined to get Marcus to go on with the deal. The deal to help him make his grandma worry less but leads him to falling in love, bumbling it and having to win back Mandy. Actually he didn’t exactly bumble it. His thoughts before he realized that he was in love and wanted a forever was what bumbled it Mandy and her insecurity didn’t help. He did work on that from the beginning.

I love how sassy and feisty Mandy could be. Their banter was light hearted at times and emotional at others especially when Marcus talked about his past and sister. These two complemented each other. They listened to one another, supported each other and respected the other as well. they loved one another and that only grew as they got to know each other. What was good is they started as friends and that grew into more. My favorite is watching Marcus realize that his feelings and what he wanted in life changed. He changed. He healed and wanted love and laughter in his life. He wanted to share his thoughts and live with someone. That someone was Mandy.

this is a story of love, healing and moving forward. Of finding the one you are meant to be with and learning that this is what you are meant to have. This is the story of how Mandy and Marcus find their forever together.

This was so great! After it ended, I pretty much sat there with a smile on my face totally immersed in the happiness that was Marcus and Mandy's story. Loved it!

I loved both Mandy and Marcus. They had seriously great chemistry and sexual tension happening. I liked the forbidden element involved (though I didn’t think it was that big of a deal) but enjoyed the conflict that went with it and how it played into the story. Mandy was so sweet and open and I loved how she put herself out there with Marcus. And Marcus, oh my! Sweet and a bit gruff, struggling with a few things and trying to keep himself closed off but he can't help his attraction to Mandy. I enjoyed their push and pull, the emotion, the playfulness between them, the passion and sexy times (because this baby brought the heat!).

The writing was great with really good descriptions and development. Loved the pace and build and I thought it flowed nicely between the POVs. It moved along well, keeping me excited for what was going to come next. I just really liked Marcus and Mandy’s dynamic, Marcus working out his struggles and how Mandy was there for him and made such a big impact on him. There was a nice bit of emotion and mild drama but it wasn't super heavy. It balanced well with their playfulness making it all well rounded story.

This was a feel-good story that left me feeling a bit sappy and a whole lot happy at the end. A wonderful read for sure!

Trigger warnings: bipolar (descriptions of manic and depressive episodes), suicide (multiple, including discussion of a veteran committing suicide), veteran with PTSD

This was a ton of fun! I was expecting this to be more of a “dating my friend’s little sister” trope, but other than some initial resistance and a few brother comments, this is more of a commitment-phobe romance. Since I love that particular trope, I was not disappointed! This is the third book in the Military Match series, but I read it as a standalone.

“Confusion filled Mandy’s eyes. ‘So why use a dating service, then? What did you hope to get out of it?’
‘Because I’m human. I get lonely, too, and a one-night stand just doesn’t do it for me anymore.’ He released a heavy breath. ‘What I need is someone I can see for a while. Someone my grandmother will like.’
‘Wait…’ Mandy cocked her head sideways. ‘You sought out a dating service to make your grandmother happy?’
He rubbed the back of his neck. Yeah, okay, so it sounded as pathetic as he’d assumed.”

Mandy is a tomboy, impulsive and cheerfully upbeat. When her dad was home from deployments, he liked tinkering in the garage, so she learned to help out in order to spend time with him. So while she can do her own car repairs, it also has the unfortunate side effect of getting her friend-zoned every time she tries to date someone. Mandy’s had a crush on her older brother’s best friend, Marcus, for quite a while, but can’t seem to break through his crusty exterior.

Marcus’s life has been rough. His dad abandoned the family when he was a kid, and then a few years later, his mom dumped him and his sister at his grandma’s house and never looked back. He’s a military vet and, while his PTSD is mostly under control, it still crops up occasionally, and he helps run a support group for returning vets. His sister was bipolar, and committed suicide while he was away on a deployment. So, you can certainly understand why Marcus is dealing with a morass of guilt and unworthiness, and why he avoids relationships and commitments.

After their aborted Military Match date, now that Mandy knows Marcus is interested in her, she decides to pursue him. When Marcus reiterates that he’s not relationship material, they agree to a month of no-strings-(or emotions)-attached sex, with them staying friends afterward. Of course, things don’t work out as planned! I loved they way they communicated and opened up to each other, plus the sex was steamy! This book deals with some heavy topics, and I think the author handled it very well, with Marcus exhibiting some of the classic PTSD symptoms and Mandy responding by gently challenging some of the unhelpful thought patterns he’d created (thanks to previously helping her brother with his PTSD). Mandy’s the force behind the relationship, so when she realizes she can’t keep the original terms of the agreement, she breaks it off. This is definitely a case of tough love, though, as Marcus comes to the realization that maybe what he had with Mandy had already grown beyond friendship, and that he missed it.

So, while this is based on an old trope, this was a lovely version of it. I very much enjoyed this book, and I’ve added the first two in the series to my TBR list!

“'Life should be lived, grabbed by its ears and rode hard.’
His body shook with his quiet laugh. ‘Only you could say something like that and not make it sound like a sexual innuendo.’
She leaned in and nipped at his chin. ‘Who said it wasn’t?’”

A SEAL's Honor is the third book in the incredible Military Match series by J.M. Stewart. A highly entertaining romance that's a definite must read! Military romances are one of my favorite type of stories, and this series has been wonderful. No, these characters are not active military anymore, but that doesn't drop the hotness factor at all. This book is full of quirky humor, witty banter, secret crushes, and surprising twists. It's a fantastic story that everyone can enjoy.

I really liked Marcus and Mandy. Marcus is a man of principle, always sticks to his rules and code of honor, and knows that being set in his ways means that he's not going to be good at any type of relationship, especially with his friends little sister. I can sympathize with Mandy on so many levels, especially the partabout being every guy's "friend." Growing up a tomboy is great while young, but when it comes time to grow up, starting to date, things don't always work out, but especially when all of the guys see you as a buddy.

Although they have each been crushing on the other since they met, neither of them have dared to make a move, mostly because of her brother, which doesn't care in the least. When Military Match sets them up on a blind date, which is a masquerade ball, the sparks and chemistry between them are flying high, at least until the masks come off. Marcus is determined to stand by his rules, but Mandy has other things planned, and the SEAL is never going to see it coming.

If you haven't read this series, I would suggest that you start from the beginning. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but you'll get so much more out of reading them all, and they're fantastic stories. I strongly recommend this book, series, and terrific author.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

While this is book 3 in the series and I have not read any of the previous books, I felt that this could be read as a stand alone. I had no problem understanding the characters and their relationships. I do want to read the other books now, as Gabe, Steph, Trent, and Lauren sound like interesting stories behind their relationships!

How can you not love Mandy when she is so down to earth, funny, and lovable but then most the guys she dated probably ended up loving her as a friend. You just want to have her find a great guy but when Marcus tells her that he doesn't do relationship and only wants a temporary girlfriend to bring home to his grandmother, you really feel for her.

I loved that she was strong enough to call it quits and not be tortured in her love for Marcus and stick around the full month. It was great that he finally woke up and then later we find that Mandy was ready to fight for him!

Lots of hard things in this book with two suicides, PTSD, and mental illness but yet, I never felt overwhelmed by the hard things and loved that Marcus and Mandy were able to work through issues to find their HEA.

4 1/2 STARS!

Sweet and sassy! A blind date and a masquerade ball mixed into one can make for an exciting meet-up, but when he discovers the woman he's feeling such an attraction to is his best friend's little sister, Marcus realizes he's in big trouble! I really enjoyed the connection between them and both the characters and the plot were well developed. This entire series has been great!

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Denali isn't so sure about this whole dating scene idea, but he's fallen to peer pressure and has agreed to get set up through Military Match dating site. When his perfect match winds up being trouble, what's a man to do?

Mandy Lawson simply needs Marcus to forget about the fact that she's younger than him and that she's Trent's little sister and she'll be set! She wants everything he has to offer her ... if only she can get him to let his guard down and stop using all of these excuses to push her away!

"Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review"
This was a great love story full of sexual tension and sweetness. Both main characters are complex, with personalities that are interesting and sound quite real in their vulnerability and dilemmas.
The hero, a former SEAL, is an Alpha male with the right amount of bossiness and tenderness. The author, J.M. Stewart, manages to create a character that could be like so many others I’ve read in other books before, but, somehow, seems fresh and new in this incarnation, making Marcus a great hero.
The dialogue and interaction between Marcus and Mandy are delicious to read. There’s a lot of sex, but it’s usually mingled with sweetness and tenderness.

This is the 3rd book in the Military Match series and the first book that I have personally read. It reads fabulously as a stand-alone.

A SEAL's Honor is a quickly-paced, May/December romance with an older man/younger woman by twelve years. So, not too severe of an age discrepancy. In this story, it fit well and the characters felt evenly matched. Mandy is mature for her age and Marcus is able to see beyond the "tomboy" title Mandy gives herself and finds her and her tomboy qualities attractive. I liked both main characters, but especially Marcus. He was a wonderful book hero. The romance, conflict, and resolution was a bit quick, but not entirely unbelievable or unenjoyable. I sometimes like a quick read where the angst is low and the resolution is quick, but you still feel like you get a full story. Overall, I enjoyed the book and J.M. Stewart's writing. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did take one star off as there were times when I thought Mandy was a little to pushy. As I am older and from another generation, I was a little put off by it. I did love Marcus though. He put everything up front and was completely honest with Mandy and just seemed like a perfect hero.

I would recommend this book because as I said before, it is probably just the generational gap. What bothered me probably wouldn't give anyone else a second thought.

I read this book via NetGalley.

I loved this book. From the mysterious elements, the sexy love scenes, and the desirable romance that blossoms between Marcus and Mandy, A SEAL's Honor was seriously perfect. I was enthralled by how emotional the novel got in some parts, and the characters never failed to keep me interested. I loved how little details allowed the story to have more meaning, especially in terms of why Marcus was haunted by what happened in his past. Mandy's personality was relatable on many levels, and Marcus was the ideal alpha male we all wish for. Their relationship was steamy and so desirable that I wish the novel didn't end. I can't wait to read more by JM Stewart, and I would definitely recommend A SEAL's Honor to those who love romance novels with emotion and maturity.

Mandy is a wedding planner and Marcus is former SEAL and owns a garage with some buddies. He doesn’t date friends sisters and he only does a night or two. They are paired up, when they both sign up for Military Match dating service. Marcus is older than Mandy but age doesn’t matter to her. She has had a crush on Marcus and is not giving up this chance to be with him.
They come to an agreement, she plays his girlfriend for his grandmother and she gets one month with him. She knows she’s risking her heart but she goes for it anyway.
Girl meets boy. Boy plays hard to get but eventually gives in. Cute little dog. And sex in some wild places.

This book is my first of the author and she didn't disappoint me at all. This story is about a sister that fell in love with the older brother bet friend. Is well written although was in third person, that is not my original pick up book but it was worth it. Is a little slow in the beginning but then the connection with the characters and the story was amazing. Cannot wait to read more.

3.75 stars--A SEAL’S HONOR is the third (and final) instalment in JM Stewart’s contemporary, adult MILITARY MATCH erotic, romance series focusing on three former military friends who search for love using Military Match dot com. This is forty-year old former Navy SEAL and mechanic Marcus Denali, and thirty-year old wedding planner Mandy Lawson’s story line. A SEAL’S HONOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Mandy is Trent Lawson’s sister (A Seal’s Courage #1).

NOTE: There may be some triggers for more sensitive readers including suicide, PTDS and bi-polar disorder.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Mandy and Marcus) A SEAL’S HONOR follows the friends to lovers/fake relationship trope between former Navy SEAL and mechanic Marcus Denali, and wedding planner Mandy Lawson. For years, Mandy Lawson has had a crush on her brother’s friend Marcus Denali, and with the upcoming Fourth of July masquerade ball, finding a date through Military Match dot com would place our hero in the direct line of fire. Enter Marcus Denali, former Navy SEAL, and the man with whom Mandy would fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Marcus and Mandy, a relationship with rules and an end date, but a relationship that becomes all too real, too soon.

Marcus has lost too many people in his life with the exception of the grandmother he has always adored. Hoping to keep his grandmother happy, Marcus approaches Mandy with a tentative offer to become his ‘fake girlfriend’ for the next few weeks to appease the woman who raised him like her own. But Marcus has demons including PTSD and the death of his sister that continue to haunt him both day and night. Mandy Lawson is willing to abide by the rules Marcus lays down but behind the scenes our heroine suspects that heartbreak and pain will follow in its’ wake. Marcus doesn’t do relationships, and in this he has placed an end date on the ‘fake’ romance, a romance that doesn’t feel fake, at all.

The relationship between Marcus and Mandy begins as acquaintances and friends, that grows into something more when Marcus makes Mandy an offer she cannot refuse. Mandy, in return, wants all of the benefits of a ‘real’ girlfriend including nights and weekends with the man with whom she is falling in love The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Trent Lawson and Lauren Hayes (A Seal’s Courage #1), and Gabriel Donovan and Stephanie Mason (A Seal’s Strength #2), as well as the introduction of Marcus’s grandmother-a woman who sees more than she is letting on.

A SEAL’S HONOR is a quick and sexy read; a spicy and spirited romance between two people caught up in a game that will end with heartbreak and anticipated rejection. A SEAL’S HONOR has moments of playful romance and growing love; passion and seduction; pain and sorrow. JM Stewart writes a satisfying series of military men who have found love when they least expected.

I will add, that the similarities between all three instalments cannot be overlooked from the basic story line premise, to the relationship phobias and time line end dates, as well as the use of similar phrases, expressions and language.

Mandy grew up with 2 older brothers, and if she wanted to spend some quality time with her dad, she learned that she needed to be OK with doing everything the boys did in order to keep up. That tomboy childhood didn't do her any favors when she got older and the men she wanted to date saw her more as one of the guys than a beautiful woman. She has had her eye on her brother's SEAL teammate and fellow bike builder Marcus for some time, but once again she has been placed in the friend zone thanks to the bro code. After more than a few failed dates, she decides to give Military Match one more try.

Marcus definitely noticed Mandy from the first moment she walked into her brother's shop, but as soon as he realized she was related to Trent, he put her straight into the "do not touch" category. He has no interest in long term commitment or getting married, but when his beloved grandmother starts dropping hints about wanting to see him happy and settled, he decides to try Military Match in the hopes of finding something between a one night stand and the white picket fence. Of course you know who gets matched up, right? After a few misfires, they finally come to an agreement: one month of dating to appease his gram, as much hot fun between the sheets as they want during that time, and at the end of the month it is back to being friends with no benefits.

Mandy is an adventurous heroine who isn't afraid to get down and dirty both in and out of the bedroom, and Marcus is clearly her match despite his initial certainty that he is not cut out for long term relationships based on his past experience. He has the alpha protector mode down to a science too. If you enjoy stories where the characters agree to no strings attached sex for a predetermined amount of time but then fall in love, then you should definitely grab a copy of this book! There is no new ground covered here, but the author did provide an entertaining and quick read.

Sparks fly when the military dating app connects Marcus Denali with Mandy Lawson. Dating Mandy breaks all of Marcus' rules. She's his buddy's little sister for starters. Not aware of who she is on their first date that's to the costume they wore for the masquerade ball Marcus has a great time and definitely wants more from this woman. Until the masks come off.....

These characters were fantastic together. I could feel the chemistry and couldn't help but root for these two to find a way to work things out. The story may have been done before but it felt fresh and new. Definitely a book I recommend.

A SEAL's Honor is the third title in the Military Match series, but can easily be read as a stand alone. Marcus is older, mature, hardened by his past and the last thing he expects when he signs up to a dating service is to be matched with his friends younger sister Mandy.

What starts as a relationship of convenience ends up being much more as feelings become involved.

A SEAL's Honor is a passionate, sensual, steamy forbidden romance that is fast paced, enjoyable story with like-able characters.

Although this was my first time reading anything by J.M. Stewart, I'm sure it will not be my last.

Ok so I’m going to jump right into it and say that one thing that annoyed me to no end was the author’s use of the word “heady”. The book only has 205 pages and the author used that word once or twice per every 5th page or so. So irritating. Also a lot of other words were repeated repeated and repeated. Considering how short the book is I would imagine it not being difficult to be more creative with the use of different words.

Other than that I would call this an erotic novel more than anything else. Quick and fun read if that’s what you’re into. I usually like a bit more of a story to go with it but that’s just my preference.
I think it could’ve been a much better story if the sex between the two main characters wasn’t sooo magnified in an almost unnecessarily exaggerated way. The whole book start to finish relives around these two people wanting to get each other into bed. Problems in life? Sex. A death of a friend? Sex. Painful army memories? Sex. Bad day at work? Sex. Bored? Sex. Friends engagement party? Sex. .. so it kind of got boring after a while.

I haven’t read the other books in the series and after reading this one I probably won’t. But again, if you’re looking for a sexy erotic novel, this would be the one!

I don't usually read the brother's best friend romance trope. But...HELLO?! Hot, SEAL as an MC?! Count me in!

Although this read a bit cliched, it was still an enjoyable read. I loved Marcus. His story was interesting and I loved watching him struggle over his feelings towards Mandy. Bro-code mandated that he stay away from her, but try as he might he couldn't. It was a treat to read for sure. and the highlight of the story for me. Another plus was that Marcus and Mandy's chemistry was off-the-charts HAWT! Goodness! Sadly, this is also where my problem with the story lies. Marcus and Mandy had chemistry and I enjoyed the heck out of it, but I would have appreciated a bit more connection, candid moments and just plain less steamy scenes. Yes, I said it. I think their connection got lost along the way, which is why I'm only rating it 3 stars.
