Once in a while right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.

I saw that quote about fairy tales embroidered on a decorative pillow at a home decorating store. Honestly, it pissed me off. Retail propaganda aimed to promote sales when any single girl in the city could tell them they’d sell more if they’d offer Keep Your Pants On, Asshole instead.

But it’s fine. I don’t have room for decorative pillows anyway.

And I don’t have time for distractions.

Which is why I’m ignoring the distraction staring at me right now. The one who looks like he belongs on a billboard campaign. The one with the full lips and the cocky smile. The one refusing to look away even when I give him my best no way scowl.

The one headed in my direction. Right now.

***3 STARS***

This is a modern day fairytale written in novella format.

Guy sees girl in Starbucks and guy likes girl. He runs into her a couple of times in the city and asks her out. Girl accepts...they fall in love and live happily ever after. Sounds simplistic? It is in this book. Very simplistic with absolutely no conflict or angst and a little unrealistic. One thing that stands out to me is the couple running into one another while catching the train in NYC. I just cannot see that. NYC is huge and congested so a chance meeting is far fetched but it is a sweet sentiment.

It is a cute quick read. If you are looking for a sweet story you may like this. It was an ok read for me.

I really enjoyed this book the humour in it was so good. I really liked Max and Lauren there so cute and very hot together. There attraction to each is instant. I always get a lil worried with novellas but I didn't have to worry at all with this book. The story flowed really well with a great luv story.

Lauren as moved from Iowa to New York to be with her future husband. But things don't really go as planned. Lauren is a strong woman and wasn't goin to let this lil bump in the road make her go back to Iowa. She would stick it out even if things were hard.

Then she met the very sexy Max. He's a great guy you can tell straight away that he is the guy that will make things ok. He wants Lauren and he would do anything to have this woman in his life. He knew she was the one when he seen her.

I loved this novella from the first page to the last. The witty banter between these two had me laughing. They were perfect for each other. My only complaint is I wish it had been longer. I could have read a novel length book about Max and Lauren. I definitely need to check out more by this author.

This novella was absolute PERFECTION! Funny, romantic and oh-so-sexy: Times Square is the perfect fast read for anytime you have the time for a quick treat. Actually, this is the first time I read anything by Jana Aston and now I can assure you it will not be the last one!

I loved the characters, the theme of the story, the development of their relationship, all those hilarious and sweet moments between the couple and the hot chemistry between Max and Lauren. I love a good novella that has everything I enjoy in romance books. Definitely recommend reading this one!

This is what I call a swoon worthy read. I loved this so hard! Jana Aston has a fantastic sense of humor and it shows in her main characters.

I loved the banter between Max and Lauren. I had a silly smile on my face the whole way through the book. They were perfect together. Perfect.

I adored Max. I normally go for the broody, dominant type but every once in a while a devil-may-care charmer comes along and wins me over.

Lauren was quirky but not over the top. Just enough to make you laugh and enjoyer her character. I especially loved how she handles a certain sticky situation that could have caused major drama but didn't.

This is a great low-angst, fun loving and charming story. I highly recommend it!

I haven't read any of the author's books and I don't know if the story is safe for me. I just thought if it's not then I'll have my second dnf. But the moment I started it, I was hooked. I can't tell you how much I love the story! It's a story that will stay in my mind for a long time. It's amazing!

The story is about Max and Lauren

She works in marketing and she wants to get a promotion so she doesn't need a distraction. She's renting a one-bedroom apartment with three girls and sleeping on bunk beds.

She came to New York because her fiancé, now ex-fiancé moved there after he graduated and got a job. She followed him after she graduated and found out he was cheating on her. And now, she's starting a new life without him.

She sometimes stops at Starbucks on her way home from work and that's when she saw a man staring at her from across the street and her life changed after that.

Meeting Max was the best thing that ever happened to her. He's in finance and has a stable life. He's so sweet, so attentive, so caring and so perfect! He's perfect for her! I love them both and as a couple. They're so cute together!

There's an epilogue but I want more.

5 Little Pervert Stars ⭐️

When you’re having a craptastic day, just think it could be you handing our bridal discount vouchers in a wedding dress at Times Square...

Lauren is having a bad year, a break up, a shitty job and a bunk bed apartment in New York. A chance meeting with our hero Max in Starbucks, caught in a wedding dress on the subway, and a first date at a book club just set the scene on how fantastic this book was. I couldn’t contain my smile. This book was charming, extremely funny and damn sexy.

This author managed to cram an absolutely awesome read in a very short amount of pages. I bloody loved this book!

What a perfect HEA story. I wish i can find my HEA in 85 pages long. Met the rich handsome man flirt, had steamy sex then get married. All done within 85 pages long. Isn't it grand??

Miss Aston again proves she is the queen of sassy, flirty and fun read. Really good one.

This was a short, sweet, sexy novella. The romance was very rushed, but once you accept that they're together, they make the cutest couple. The banter between the two of them was my favorite. It's about what you'd expect from a novella, rushed pace, little to no characterization, but if you enjoy novellas, you'll like this one.

When I start a book, I rarely read blurbs and I don't look at how many chapters or pages it has. Maybe I should? Because the end of this story came as a total shock. This is the beginning of a great and smart Rom-Com but where's the rest of it?

I loved the exchanges between Lauren and Max. They're both great funny characters without being ridiculous or over the top. I just need about 20 more chapters and a plot.

"You're so stupid."
"Agreed."
"Okay." I sigh. We've reached his apartment and we pause in front of the door and stare at each other. "Let's go fuck this out."

This was really short, but funny and cute. Very low angst/drama although it had the potential for a little it was mostly smooth sailing and a really sweet, entertaining read. I loved Lauren and Max together. Their chemistry and humor was great. Sometimes Jana Aston just nails it and this was one of those times. Kinda sad it was only 85 pages, I'd read more about these two.

Good story, but short

This was a pretty good story, but a little on the short side. The story like could've been a little longer and a bit more exciting.

Times Square by Jana Aston
Narrated by Erin Mallon
Standalone novella
I was looking for a quick 2-3 hour listen while waiting for my pre-orders to arrive on my audible app, and grabbed Times Square by Jana Aston to listen to as I worked on my list. This was originally in the Love in Transit anthology which sadly doesn’t exist anymore, because now I’d love to read how the other authors did it. You see, originally they were each given a blurb and they had to write a story around it. Since I enjoyed this one so much, I may be picking up the rest as they release.

Lauren is a book blogger who moved to New York for her ex-fiance, and though they didn't work out, she stayed in New York. She is sharing a tiny apartment with 4 girls and bunk beds, has a bitch of a boss at work, and isn’t looking for a man.

Until Max.
“Is there anything sexier than a man absorbed in a book? Not to this self-confessed book nerd there isn’t.”

Max just shows up and is perfect. They have a healthy relationship, great sex and little angst. Though not the most memorable read, at only 100 pages or 2.5 hours, it’s a perfect little one-sitting read or listen, and I enjoyed every second of it.

The narrator was Erin Mallon, and she did a great job, I am just finding her a bit overused lately.

All in all, I found Times Square to be a fun, sexy, angst-free way to spend a few hours!

This was a fast paced novella. I loved the meet cute. I adored the hero. He was charming, funny, playful. Their chemistry was also good and the sexy scenes were to the point. However it was too short for me to feel their connection and that's always my issue with novellas. I just need more.
