The Fix #2

Fix Me Not

Rate this book
Paige Sullivan's life is a train wreck. In a matter of months she lost her business, her swanky apartment, and her big city life. Now she's stuck in Nowhere, New Hampshire, sleeping on her mom's couch. If that wasn't bad enough, she's forced to do odd jobs for money. She has a plan though, and once she's saved enough, she's out of there. That is, as long as she doesn't murder her sexy new employer first.

Asher Thompson is the ruggedly handsome hermit of the Thompson clan. Tall, ridiculously sexy despite his beard, and annoyingly aloof, his main concern is his privacy. He fills his days with his work as a carpenter and the peaceful solitude of his lake house. A peaceful solitude that vanished the moment Paige Sullivan stormed into his life, hell-bent on driving him crazy.

The problem is, opposites attract and each time they cross paths she works her way further under his skin.

Carey Heywood has me addicted, obsessed and fixated on The Fix Up Series. I seriously can’t get enough of the Thompson siblings! So you can imagine my excitement when I finally got my hands on Asher’s story.

f1a425b1b8b14151524d6e840103e5 I’ve never felt lonely until she left. It wasn't because I was by myself; it was because she took a piece of me with her. I’ve felt incomplete until I held her again. ”

Asher Thompson is the hermit of the siblings. He prefers being alone in his cabin by the lake. He is just one of those guys who has his routine and doesn’t socialize much. He is not mean or grumpy by any means, he’s just that guy who enjoys and does his carpentry business at home. And so when his normal housekeeper had an accident, he was surprised to see her daughter from New York filling in for her.

Paige Sullivan’s life is at a complete disaster. No home. No boyfriend. No work. And so when she had to move back in with her mom because of her failed business, she had to suck it up and take odd end jobs to support herself. And one of these jobs is cleaning and buying groceries for Asher Thompson.

#FixMeNot

When Asher first meets Paige, he immediately thinks she is a spoiled lazy princess. And of course, Paige thinks he’s kind of rude. So right away these two didn’t make a great first impression but as they began to spend more time with each other, they formed a kind of friendship. Asher would wait for her in his truck to make sure she got home safely after her shift from the bar. He would do these simple and romantic gestures that warmed Paige’s heart. And as a result, it was inevitable for them to not to fall for each other. So will Asher realize that Paige is a big chunk of his heart? Or will he have to let her go when her time in New Hampshire comes to an end?

f1a425b1b8b14151524d6e840103e5 Now, moving inside her, feeling pleasure I never thought was possible, I know without a doubt she's all I want, all I'll ever want.”

Fix Me Not is a light, sweet and fun love story. You can’t help but fall in love with these characters as they brought forth their own charm and uniqueness. I am seriously addicted to this series and is greedy for more. I can’t wait for what Carey Heywood has in store for Abby, Eli, and Gideon as Noah and Eli Thompson already have their heart fixed with their significant loves.

Favorite Quotes:

“I'm Jerry. I'd be happy to show you around.” Hope bats his hand away and looks at me. “Trust me. Only place this one will show you is his parents’ basement.”

His eyes soften and I wonder if the shade of them is like a Snickers bar or a shade lighter, like a Kit Kat. Either way, my mouth waters and I'm craving something other than chocolate.

You need to date her, and then marry her, and then have babies with her... If they get your build and her coloring they'd look like baby Thors.

He tastes like cinnamon and smells like freshly cut cedar. If I ever stop kissing him, it will be to shove my face into the crook of his neck and inhale. That is, if I ever stop kissing him which isn't likely. Besides, my ovaries are currently needlepointing Paige and Asher. That sounds innocent, but the needlepoint image beneath it most definitely is not.

Is there a female equivalent to blue balls? Maybe woeful vagina, or dismal cooter? Either way, I have the worst case of blue lady balls ever.

It's weird how comfortable I am with him...I'm not saying I'd fart loudly in front of him, that may never happen. Or, I might need to talk him into getting a dog, because dogs are awesome, and I will totally blame a fart on a dog. It's one of the countless reasons they're man’s best friend. Blame a fart on a cat and it would probably cut you in your sleep.

My Review:

I am a new convert to the cult of Carey Heywood, this is the second book of hers I’ve read and I want to stop time and read everything she has ever written. Both books in this series have been refreshing, amusing, engaging, and just adorable. I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy Paige initially, she seemed bitter and surly, but there was a reason for that and I grew to admire and care for her as much as I adored the gentle giant/semi-reclusive Asher. The sweet couple of Finley and Noah frequently pop up and provide comic relief, as do most of the Thompson clan. I cannot wait to see what the crafty and clever Ms. Heywood does with the rest of the siblings.

Asher Thompson likes living alone on his lakefront property. He’s content with his woodworking and has a stop-in housekeeper to run his errands and do his cleaning. Until he has the housekeeper’s daughter to contend with and she turns his world on its side.

Paige Sullivan, 30, was running a booming event planner business in NYC; now she’s working odd jobs in New Hampshire. As if life hasn’t crapped on her enough, she has a ‘not her type’ man getting under her skin….in more ways than one.

“Is there a female equivalent to blue balls? Maybe woeful vagina, or dismal cooter? Either way, I have the worst case of blue lady balls ever.”

Although Paige comes across pretentious in the beginning, she was also kind of amusing and I could guess that her character was going to grow. I was also rather intrigued with the spin on this enemies to friends to lovers tale—Paige is actually a little jealous of Asher because she thinks her mom likes him better!

Like the previous book in the series, Fix Her Up, this romance is fairly low angst and slow burn with down-to-earth characters. In fact, Asher doesn’t like the spotlight or women’s attention thrown at him. Yeah, let that sink in a moment. Asher’s a sweet guy with a lot of integrity.

“‘When we Thompsons met the women of our dreams, we do whatever it takes to win her heart.’”

I so adore how the men in this series aren’t man-whores or attention-whores. Told via their dual first person POV, this is an opposites attract romance. Finley and Noah from the first book make appearances. Abby, Asher and Noah’s sister, gets her story next in Fix My Fall, coming in February.

The writing style in the first few chapters was a bit underwhelming. Fortunately, that improved (=more dialogues, fewer irrelevant inner monologues).

Same with the characters. Wasn't particularly fond of them at first but then they started to get to me. The heroine seemed unfriendly and cold, the hero is a loner (don't have anything to say against that) but he also jumps to conclusions quickly...

Character development is def in there, though. The hero turns out to be a great man, very sexy, very hot, very smart and sooo kind and loving. Loved that.
Same with the heroine. Not spineless at all. Quite sassy, very talented.

What I missed was the romance and dating part. We get that in the last quarter of the book but that was just a bit too late for me. Would have liked to see and feel that earlier on. Especially because the MCs ignore each other for a long, long time after kissing.

This was such a sweet and funny story about Asher and Paige. Even though I haven't read Fix Her Up I plan on doing just that after reading this one. This is a complete standalone so it's not really necessary if you don't want to. But I do look forward to reading more of the Thompson brothers.

I completely loved Asher. He truly was a loner but, there was so much more to him then meets the eye. Paige however annoyed me in the beginning with her attitude but given the hand she's recently been dealt it's understandable.

These two initially couldn't stand each other so much as breathing in the other ones vicinity until they slowly let each other in. Add in the Thompson clan and you have a addicting story!

'Fix Me Not' by Carey Heywood is the 2nd book in "The Fix up series. The main characters in this book are Paige Sullivan and Asher Thompson. This is more of a standalone book in the series. Asher is considered a recluse for no other reason that he likes to be alone and work on his carpenter work to the point that he forgets pretty much anything else. Asher lives a little far from town so he can do his own thing without being bothered and he has housekeeper named Millie that sees to his grocery shopping and cleaning of his house so he doesn’t have to leave and he can continue doing what he loves. Things are going great until Millie is hurt cleaning for him and he has to leave his home to go with her to the hospital where he meets Millie’s daughter Paige . Asher has kind of a bad opinion of Paige which is kind of wrong. Paige thinks Asher is rude so they have a rough first start and their first couple meets are not the greatest but they get past that and that is when the magic starts to happen.
Paige goes to fill in for her mom while she is out with her injuries See Paige is down on her luck and has been crashing on her mom’s sofa. She used to be this bigwig in NYC but she lost her business, is broke and her ex friend took her boyfriend. With her mom injured and unable to work for Asher, she is forced to take that job to help her mom out which upsets her because it seems her mom likes him more than her.
At first Asher doesn’t want her there- he tells her to get out, leave but she refuses . She shows him that she isn’t going to go away and she is a fighter. Will Asher be able to see the real Paige or will he let his dislike rule his heart? Asher is complex and there is more to him which Paige sees and slowly works with. I loved how the magic is strong with this couple. I loved the ending and the opening for the next couple.

'Fix Me Not'by Carey Heywood is the Second book in "The Fix up"Book series. This is the story of Paige Sullivan and Asher Thompson. I have read the previous book but feel this is eaisly a standalone book.
Asher is a recluse for no other reason that he loves his carpenter work and gets absorbed in it. Asher lives somewhat far from town where he can indulge in his alone time. He has a housekeeper named Millie that sees to his grocery shopping and cleaning of his house so he really has no reason to leave much. Until one day she falls off the toilet while standing on it to get some cobwebs down and hurts herself. Asher rushes her to the hospital while calling her daughter Paige who Asher learns is staying at her house right now. Asher has never met Paige but understands she is a business women who isn't to close to her mom. Asher is short on the phone with Paige when he notifies her of her mom being taking to the hospital. Asher has not problem spotting Paige when she shows up at the hospital. Paige is a younger version in looks of Millie but doesn't seem to have the down home kindness of Millie. Paige thinks Asher is kind of rude so that have a bumpy start at first. But Paige ends up filling in for her mother Millie while she is down with her leg. Which puts them in close contact and their feelings start to move toward something else....love.
Sweet Read!

I skipped the first book of the series and went ahead with this one. Not a single regret, it was short, entertaining, loads of hilarious scenes too. Great main characters, they were totally opposite and interesting enough on their own. When they finally got together, nothing can keep them apart. A good read, worth the time to spend your time with it.

This is the second book in The Fix series which can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the first book, Fix Her Up as I loved it!

Paige Sullivan is down on her luck, having lost her business she is back in her small home town, staying at her mother's house and sleeping on the couch. She has never felt good enough, even with her successful business so to hear her mother continually gushing about Asher Thompson who she cleaned and did shopping for, just made Paige despise him without even knowing him. When her mother has an accident, it is left to Paige to pick up the slack and cover for her mother’s duties. This brings her in close proximity to Asher that she goes out of her way to try and avoid. But little by little this enigmatic man starts to have an impact on her that she could never envisage.

Asher Thompson is a private and guarded man. He is the exact opposite of his brothers and sister who are all outgoing and social but Asher prefers his own company and to be left with his carpentry business to focus on. He lives in a beautiful remote part of the small town near the lake and that just suits him perfectly. He only lets certain people such as his family come stay at the cabin on his grounds but when Paige starts to visit to do the housework, he becomes unsettled and at first he cannot fathom what it is. Little by little though this headstrong prickly beauty has him yearning for things he thought he would never want.

This was another fantastic slow build romance that I love about this series. I was eager to read all about Asher as he was an enigmatic character in the previous book so it was delightful to get to dig deep and unravel his complexities. He was a deep but sexy man who revealed a sparkling wit and wisdom. He also put bossy Paige in her place (when she let him) I loved how this pair who started out as enemies eventually moved to be lovers and they were hot!

The more I read of this series the more I love and I can’t wait for more. I highly recommend this series to all. Five stars.

I really loved Fix her up so I knew I'd enjoy Fix me not it can be read as a standalone but you really don't want to miss out on the first book in the series such lovable characters . Didn't really like Paige at first it took some time to warm up to her but when that happened she became a great heroine when we find out she puts a mask on to hide her insecurity's felt really bad but it was beautiful to see her blossom . Asher is a man who likes his own space and I respect that and he's incredibly talented just saying the man knows how to work his wood . When these two let their walls down they end up making perfect since and the way Asher and Paige treat the other is incredible . We get to see more of the crazy antics the Thompson family get into witch I love because this family is hilarious can't wait to see the next book in the series . From meddling mothers ,to swimming lessons that make me in need of forgetting how to swim , and sex baskets full of naughty treat you just don't want to miss out one clicking right away .

I Am soooooo Addicted to Carey Heywood's has me addicted to her Fix Up Series!!! I have devoured these first two books!! I'm sooooo crazy about these Thompson siblings!!! And Asher definitely didn't disappoint!!!

We first meet Asher Thompson in book one, Fix Her Up. He's a recluse, prefers living life away from anyone in his cabin. I absolutely LOVED his character!! When his housekeeper is hurt while cleaning his cabin, she asks her daughter to fill in.

Paige Sullivan has lost everything, her business, her boyfriend, her so called best friend. She's gone home to her moms to try and get perspective. And to make it all worse, she's asked by her mom to fill in as Asher's housekeeper. Paige of course doesn't want to, she can't stand the so called "perfect Asher" as her mom thinks he is.

When these two meet they both have different ideas of who the offer is. To Asher, Paige is a spoiled, lazy princess. And Paige thinks he's an @$$hole! But as they begin spending time together, they develop a friendship, that slowly burns away to more.

As Fix Her Up was a slow burning story, so is Fix Me Not. What starts as pretty intense dislike turns into more and I LOVED the slow burn between the two of them. It's definitely a sweet, lighthearted, fun read. This series is addicting. I'm sooooo looking forward to Abby's story next. And also looking forward to catching up with the brothers, maybe get questions answered.

There was something different her about Paige and Asher that tickled me. Yes, they were opposites. Yes, they got on each other nerves. It was a bit of dislike at first sight. Asher and Paige both had some misconceptions of the other. These misconceptions were not cleared up quickly. They had to take the time to get to know each other. During that time they each find more than either expected from the other. This was something that made me turn the pages even faster to see how things got better for them.

This was my first read in this series but I do plan to go back and read the first one and add this to my reading rotation for future reads in this series. I found it sweet and funny. The chemistry between Asher and Paige was a bit quirky and funny in the beginning. Then it became more as they were pushed in to the same space. Paige because she was determined to do the job her mom could no longer do and Asher because he wanted her out of his space. They find something they both were missing, each other. They coming together was sweet. There was more to them both it just took the right person to see past the dressing and see the more.

I’m excited to see what would be coming next. Carey Heywood has a way about her books that ensnares you and keeps you coming back for more.

Get ready for another hot Thompson brother from Carey Heywood! This time around we get to know Asher, the quiet reclusive brother who loves his solitude. His feisty match is this story is Paige, the failed party planner trying to start over.

When I first started reading, I wasn’t sure I could see Asher and Paige together, like ever. They appear to be so different from one another. I know I know, opposites attract, but when one loves the peace and quiet and seclusion of the woods and the other craves the energy of New York City and works in event planning?? That’s quite a difference. They didn’t hide their disdain for each other either, which was actually hilarious.

This is what I can only guess is typical Paige crap. She’s pitching a fit because she has to do something for someone other than herself.

Screw him. God, all I want to do is find a stepladder and punch him in the face.

The funny thing is they really have no reason not to like each other, it was almost like they felt that they shouldn’t want to like the other. If they were nice and had feelings, their whole world would change, when it came down to it, really it was a defense mechanism for them both.

I don’t like him, I just don’t dislike him anymore, I neutral him. My body should not be reacting this way to my neutraling him.

Seeing Paige’s realization that she didn’t hate Asher was comical. The gentle easing into their relationship was very beautiful. There was no big flashy show of emotions, just a simple kiss that turned into another the next day, then a few more. Watching Asher open up and seeing Paige calm down was nice.

I was finally able to get on board and cheer them on! The gentleness and openness that they have is special. The slow burn and build made for a nice story.

ARC received for an honest review

I adored Noah Thompson in the first book in the Fix series, however it was his hermit-like brother Asher that piqued my interest.

Fix Me Not can be read as a stand alone, but why would you want to miss any of this goodness.

Asher Thompson is all manly man - I can imagine him smelling like wood shavings and sweat (but not in the stinky way, none of our book men would ever stink!!)

Enter Paige - now, not going to lie here. It did take me a while to warm up to her (though that was the way we are supposed to feel I guess). I ended up adoring her - and you will too!

I love that Fix Me Not is pretty much angst free - sure, our lovelies are a little, not broken but definitely bent - but there is no big drama for drama's sake. Sure, there are issues but they deal with them like adults.

I adored getting more of Noah and Finley from Fix Her Up, getting those glimpses of where they are now.

I also adore learning more about Asher's family. My heart is hurting for his sister Abby, and I need her to get her HEA, Stat!

The Fix series is cute and sweet and full of love. Can't wait to see where we are taken next.

This is the second book in The Fix Series. I just love it. I think this book is just as good as the first story. Picking up where the first book left off, Noah and Finley are engaged to be married. This book however focuses on his brother Asher. Asher is a reclusive person. He prefers to be alone and lives on land alone. He has a house keeper who buys his groceries and brings his mail to him, so he never leaves home.

One day Asher’s house keeper Millie falls and he has to rush her to the hospital. She has him call her daughter to meet them there. When her daughter arrives, she is rude and Asher immediately dislikes her and passes judgement.

Paige is down on her luck. Once a big time event planner in New York, now living on her mom’s sofa. She has lost her business, is broke and her ex friend took her boyfriend. When her mom’s fall has her put in a cast, she is forced to work for the perfect Asher that her mom praises.

When Paige shows up at Asher’s house to clean, drop the mail and groceries, Asher is stunned. He makes a point of telling her he does not want her there. She doesn’t want to be there but her mom is making her. Will Asher be able to push aside his dislike of Paige? Will Paige ever trust anyone or will she run when she gets the money saved up?

In this story you see more of the same characters, but the author introduces some new ones and develops Asher more. Asher is a very complex person. I feel he has Aspergers Syndrome, with the way the author has written his character. He tenses when people touch him or show him attention. He does not like attention and prefers to focus on his work and being alone on his land.

When Paige comes crashing into his life it is a big adjustment to let her in, not just for him but for her as well. She is a stubborn individual. She is determined to move on and find a fresh new start in life. She has no money, friends and her self-esteem is shot. I love watching these characters develop and work through their difficulties.

In this book she leaves an opening for another story, by introducing a little more background into Abby. I am excited to see where her story goes. If you are looking for a cozy, yet sexy read this is the book for you. It has it all, from comedy and sweet romance to hot steamy sex. I highly recommend this series and this book.

Fix Me Not was a cute, sweet, easy afternoon read. Like all of Carey Heywood’s books, these characters felt like old friends. That is why I return to her books time and again - they’re familiar and comfortable - and sometimes it’s nice to just enjoy the peace that type of a book brings. The writing, plot, and characterizations this book are effortless. There was nothing horribly surprising or challenging, it was a breeze to read, and after some relative heavy books, it was a nice change of pace.

I found Asher to be the most intriguing of the Thompson siblings in Fix Her Up and I was excited to see what made him tick and how he’d come to the decision to seclude himself from society. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like I got much in the way of answers as far as that was concerned. The only explanations given seemed trite and incongruent with the other aspects of his personality. I just wish this aspect of Asher’s life was more fully explored in a way that truly explained his behavior. For me, it just felt like a missed opportunity to touch on some important and heavier themes.

There were also some missed opportunities with Paige and her relationship with her mother. As antagonistic as it was, it felt like there were some underlying issues that were never mentioned. I kept hoping that Ms. Heywood would delve into their dynamic more fully but it was left unexplained altogether.

Though I truly wish some of those more difficult aspects of the book weren’t fully explored, I was satisfied with the story that was told in Fix Me Not. Asher and Paige had an adorable relationship, and I enjoyed the way they challenged one another to explore parts of themselves they weren’t fully comfortable with. I also really liked that we got to check in with some of the other Thompsons and am looking forward to continuing to witness the siblings find their futures.

So if you have many siblings and one is a hermit, you would bet that he would be the least to meet his forever, right? Well enter Paige, the daughter of his housekeeper and you might want to take that bet back. This story was funny and sweet.

Asher is the loner, out on his own in his workshop most of the time. He likes his time alone, choosing not to part take in outings with a lot of people. He makes beautiful pieces of furniture that allows him to work from home. He has built himself quite a life, a housekeeper that does his shopping and life is running smoothly until he doesnt have his awesome housekeeper any longer.

Paige had built herself a very successful business in NY, she doent want to be back home, but things happen and they happen fast. She needs to stay busy while back at home, so she gets a few different jobs. She proves to be hard working and determined to get her life back.

These two think they are complete opposites, not giving each other a chance until they do. Once they take off the gloves, they find out they have a lot in common and enjoy being around each other. If Noah thought Finley brought Asher out of his shell, he is shocked to see what Paige does to him.

During this we get a little of each sibling and their parents again. I love that Carey keeps you up to date on the rest of the family and what is going on in their lives along with the main characters. The Thompson family is making a space in my heart.

The best thing in the book world is to find new author's that can make you see right through their stories. There are some that can but there are others that can't but this one just nailed it.
Has you could have already guessed, Carey Heywood is a new author to me and this book managed to do just that. I could identify myself with it because bad luck can strike when you least expect it.
Fix Me Not is her latest release and shows us Paige and Asher's life. This book is the second on The Fix series and dayum...
Paige had it all until one day she didn't. She had lost her job, her beautiful apartment and her big city life. Now she is stuck back in Nowhere sleeping on her mom's couch. In order to survive she needs to attend to some odd jobs, doing so she can stick up with her plan of saving enough and get out of there.
Asher is a loner. He wants to be left alone in his cabin on the lake doing his work and that's it. He wants peace a quite but when Paige stormed into his life things will change...
Oh boy.. What a sweet story this was. I hadn't realized that I needed this until I finished it.
The plot is super beautiful and the interaction between the characters is intense and so much more.
We are presented with some pretty hot stuff that you can't miss.
I'm in love with this series and I want more. Please Carey tell me that we will not wait long.... Please
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Fix Me Not returns the reader to the genetically favored Thompson family that we first met in Fix Her up with Finley and Noah. However, It could easily be a stand-alone. This book features Asher Thompson, Noah's bearded recluse carpenter brother. The book starts with his housekeeper Millie having an accident that lands her in the hospital and introduces Asher to Millie's daughter Paige. Paige has recently come to stay with her mom to come up with a plan to get back on her feet after losing her event planning business, her New York lifestyle, her best friend, and her boyfriend. She's a mess. The last person she wants to meet is Asher, the son her mother always wanted. He's perfect, she's a failure. To say that they do not get off to a good start is an understatement! She's everything he hates in a woman. He's bearded and wears flannel. Still opposites do attract...

This book is adorable! It's the perfect distraction. Paige is a feisty little lady and although I'm not a fan of beard, Asher is hot, hot, hot! Dear me, but this man is so romantic. I love the Thompson's! I loved the appearances by characters from the first book. The love of the siblings for one another and Paige's easy friendship with Finley gave this book the feel of a real extended family. I can't wait to see which sibling gets the next book either. I'm torn as to which one I want to get their HEA first.

Sassy Smart and Sexy -A delightful captivating story that will melt your heart and warm your soul -
I want a Thompson of my own!
This is Asher's story and it is as good as if not better than Noah's (Fix Her Up) I love the raw emotion Heywood brings out in her characters and the realism of the trials and the triumphs that her characters face - I honestly could not ask for more from an author when seeking a good contemporary romance - except directions to find my own Thompson brother
Paige built her life in NewYork - she loved the lights the glitz and the glamour she was a rising star until a storm forced her to take shelter back home with her mother in a small quaint New Hampshire town - This was definitely not in her life plan -now she will do whatever it takes to restart her life and get back on top -
Asher has always been uncomfortable with attention - he prefers his quiet solitary life by the lake- he has his family, his housekeeper life is good - that is until Paige storms through - uninvited - unrepentant and Unknownst to her making the art of woodworking quite a lot harder for Asher
This is book two in the series but can be read without pause as a standalone I received a complimentary copy

4 Stars!

A sweet story of opposites attract!

Paige was living the high life in NYC, until she wasn't. Now, forced to move back in with her mother, with whom she has a tenuous relationship, she meets local recluse, Asher. Asher prefers to live alone. People make him uncomfortable. When his beloved housekeeper breaks her leg while working at his house, he is surprised to see her daughter, Paige, show up to help. Paige, the woman he doesn't like. The more time they spend together the more hate turns to like and like to love.

I am a big Carey Heywood fan and she didn't disappoint me wiht this sweet story. Asher and Paige are fun together. Even when things were tense, they made me smile. Lest you worry there is the perfect amount of steam for this story. The secondary characters - Asher's meddling brothers (minus Eli) and sister and even his mother make an appearance, as well as Paige's mother/Asher's housekeeper - they all add nicely to the story without being overbearing.

Opposites attract in this sweet story of a misunderstood heroine and a sexy, loner hero. A definite must read and the perfect weekend book!

The second book in the series and I'm still in love with the Thompson siblings...this one is about the loner Asher and city girl Paige.

This story is about what a thin line is between dislike and love...everything about this book just spoke to me. I'm actually not a big fan of the slow burn - but this series has me changing my mind.

When they meet he thinks that she is lazy, spoiled brat...she thinks he's self-absorbed and too lazy to clean his own home.

Somewhere along the way they see their error and discover that there is more beneath the surface. They discover that they both work hard and love what they do. That somewhere along the way they fell in love and they can't live without the other.

I think Carey Heywood is becoming a must for me!

If you haven't start The Fix series now is the time to do just that.

I'm excited for 2018 when the next book is coming out - I can't wait to meet the man who will change Abby's life 😉

Out of all the Thompson siblings Asher is the one that prefers the quiet tranquility of his cabin by the lake. He prefers to spend his time working on his carpentry business rather than socializing with others.

Paige has moved back in with her mom while she tries to rebuild her life. Her ex-boyfriend betrayed her with her previous best friend and her business went under so now she will do whatever job she can to make enough money to scrape by.

When her mother is injured she takes over the task of buying groceries and cleaning for Asher even if he believes that she is a spoiled princess. As they spend time together they get to know each other as they really are and not the image they present but will this be enough for Paige to stay or will she return to her old life once she is back on her feet?

I really liked the uniqueness of these characters and the fact that their attraction to each other went far beyond the physical. I have loved this series and I can’t wait for the next Thompson story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.
