Sometimes the worst lies... are the ones we tell ourselves.

His death left me broken—destroyed.

It wasn’t the incident alone. I was already damaged beyond repair by the events leading to that moment. But seeing his lifeless body only sealed my fate. So many mistakes. So much regret.

Dex wants to know what happened that night. He wants to catch a killer and put my demons to rest. I'm just not sure I can trust him after the lies he told to get close. I’m wary... guarded. Still, I’ll welcome him to my world and lead him into the darkness.

He’ll see me for what I truly am. But I’m not the only one keeping secrets. And maybe…

The truth will set us all free.

False Start - 5 stars !!!
Pivot Line - 7 stars no-fucking-shame !!!

description

"I got you, FIREBIRD."

This duet owns my heart. Owns me. And words won't ever be enough to describe how PERFECT and BRILLIANT these books are.

For fans of romantic suspense, I swear you-need-these-books-in-your-life-right-fucking-now.

Rebel Farris is absolutely one of those intelligent writers who can craft intricately woven stories that will really really stick. This duet is so suspenseful I felt like I was trailing a giant maze bumping with the characters at every turn, with each of them morphing and orchestrating to mess up your brain even more. The back and forth between the past and the present - I. Love. It. Flawlessly told. Like I said, intelligent storytelling.

The twists and turns are so sick and delicious, you'll love 'em, you'll hate 'em, but you'll always end up wanting more. Everything is intense starting from the first book. The events are insane, gut-wrenching, scorching hot, all there is to need in a romantic suspense novel.

I want to share some really great quotes but I think I highlighted the entire thing I wouldn't know where to start.

It is important to read the BoBS - Back of Book Shit on both books. Do not miss those parts for anything. There's gold in there. I truly hope a lot of readers find these books because they are so powerful and thought-provoking and life-changing.

I know now why it's called FALLING SMALL. These characters you've brought to life -
Mads, Jared (Oh, Jared), Law (my precious), Dex (I died when I understood what he symbolizes in the story), the girls - all of them, Evan and Nic, and everyone else. Beautiful, Rebel. You are beautiful. Now give us more.

false start teaser 1

**Sneak Peek**

Dex is wearing the sexy suit again. No tie. And when I straighten, I’m eye level with the exposed skin that peeks out where the top two buttons are undone. I lick my lips. I want to lick that dip at the base of his throat. I feel like an addict. I’d one taste, and I already need more.

He runs his thumb over my bottom lip, tilting my chin up until I meet his eyes. The hunger there matches my own. He leans forward like he’s going to kiss me, but pauses. His breath rolls over my lips, leaving a wake of tingles with each soft tease. I try to close the distance, but the grip on my chin stops me. I can feel his resulting grin, and a little whimper escapes me, a one-syllable plea for him to end my torture.

Flutters expand in my stomach, and it feels as though my heart is trying to pull itself out of my chest to go to his. It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before. When his lips capture mine and his teeth grip my bottom lip, my legs give out, and I sag against the doorframe. His arm wraps my waist and pulls me up with a deep rumble in his chest. My toes are barely brushing the ground. Nothing exists in this moment but us. It feels like flying, a weightless tumble where you can’t tell which way is up or down, but you also don’t care.

This was me right after finishing this book:

♥ 5 OMG STARS! ♥

This is it. This is the pivot line. He either accepts me or he walks away.

Pivot Line is the second and final chapter in the Falling Small Duet, and it starts right after False Start's cliffhanger ending. Therefore, you must read the first book before jumping into this one.
This novel left me absolutely speechless on several occasions while I was reading it! It is A LOT to take in!! It's so much more than you imagine and, as the story progresses, you find out more and more about Maddie's past and present life.

Maddie is a very complex and multifaceted character. She has many secrets and a pretty complicated existence, and I admire the way she succeeds to balance every aspect of it. Life hasn't been kind to her, but, somehow, every time something bad happens, she manages to rise again from her own ashes. She is strong and yet fragile at the same time and she's a real fighter.
I've never met someone filled with so much darkness that still managed to shine so bright. Like a moth to a flame, Firebird. I'm yours.

So, it's not surprising at all that Dex is smitten with Maddie from the very beginning. She makes him want things he never desired before. And their chemistry is over the top!
Because pushing people away and being alone is the easy thing to do. Staying around, depending on someone and having them depend on you, that's the hard stuff. You make me want to work for this, Maddie. You're the only woman I've met that's made me want to try and stick it out.

As the story unravels, the pieces of this intricate puzzle start to fit together. But the truth is, no matter how many theories you develop in your mind, you'll never be able to guess the truth correctly until the author decides it's time to give it to you!
To be completely honest, at a certain point I struggled a bit with a thing that happened in Maddie's past, because I thought I wasn't liking where the story was going. But I quickly understood the reasons behind her behavior, and I was able to move on and keep enjoying this amazing novel.
And the end?! Oh Gosh, I didn't see that coming AT ALL!!!

I don't want to give anything away, so I'm not gonna say a single word concerning the plot. As I said in my False Start review, Falling Small Duet is one of those stories you should jump into without knowing too much. It's a path filled with suspense, cliffhangers, surprises and sudden twists and turns. You just need to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

The only thing I'm gonna say is that I cried for Jared. I will not explain at which point of the story or why I did it. I'll just say that I adored Jared in False Start both as a loving boyfriend and as a caring dad, and that sometimes, unfortunately, life's not fair at all.

Bravo to Rebel Farris! She has an amazing talent and she did a TERRIFIC job with Falling Small Duet! I cannot wait to read more and more and more!

"I'm not the religious type. I believe there's a higher power, but I don't think anyone on earth is truly capable of understanding what that is. I think we all grasp at straws and believe the most convenient lies. Lies that feel comfortable, whether it's ingrained from birth or, like a true rebel, you choose it on your own. It's like those scientists who theorize that there's another dimension, but we can't perceive it because our minds are too limited. We just aren't advanced enough to understand or comprehend the truth.
So, God, Buddha, Allah - whatever you want to call him or her - he's not a being. It's a force beyond comprehension. But there's one thing that I do believe: love is as close as we can humanly get to it."

She got me. I didn’t see it coming. This is the 2nd book in the series from Rebel and oh what a tangled web she weaved. It’s deliciously dark and at times heart wrenching. You will need a box of tissues but don’t worry, they arent all sad tears. You learn a lot more about Maddie and her family of misfits and Dex. Oh my Dex. He’s just so ......phew, moving on. There are a lot of twists and turns in this one but Rebel is great at what she does and I never felt lost. You also get a peek at some interesting side stories that can develop. I can’t wait to see how those play out.

After reading this book, and look back at the cover, IT IS JUST FREAKING PERFECTION!!!
Gah, it just matches everything so perfectly.

Ok... man, this story really took me for a ride. We ended False Start with a pretty big cliffhanger, and Pivot Line starts right in the same timeline/moment.
This author can write romantic suspense SO WELL! I found myself glued to the pages.

I promise you, you will NEVER find out what’s going to happen, until the author makes it so.
There were so many twists and turns, shocking moments, heartbreaking feelings, and even a few tears.
Seriously, if I were Maddie, I would’ve gone crazy a million years ago and had them keep me in a hospital forever.
That is one strong woman!
I love that this book touches on some very serious topics involving veterans.
I wish I could go more into this book, but everything is literally a spoiler. Just know that there will be an infinite amount of gasping “oh shit!” moments.

Now I’m impatiently waiting for the start of the Hummingbird series.
Another five star read to Rebel Farris!

Destroyed..... it's a powerful word and this book destroys you and has your mind so confused that when you figure out what the author has been spinning around you you lose balance and fall on your ass in a puddle of your tears. (A little dramatic I know BUT this author has words that will speak to your soul.) Pivot Line is a part of a duet in which you will need to read the first book False Start before reading this book. And I will tell you that this duet is my number one read of 2018. (Technically one and two but they are at the top!)

As soon as you finish False Start (book one) then you should immediately start Pivot Line because it takes off where you are left with the craziest cliff hanger! Prepare yourself for an entire day of reading because this book is not a book you will put down once you start reading, in fact, this entire duet is amazingly read in a few days.

Your heart will be pounding, stomach in knots, nails completely gone and you are at the edge of your seat nearly falling off because you will NEVER believe who the stalker is and I swear I seriously thought I knew but boy was I wrong. I had some many weird theories as to who and why but never did I expect what happens once the stalker is revealed. If you ask Rebel I told her my silly thought as to who I thought it was and she said that it was a new one.... pretty sure she was being nice. lol

Let me just say this about Maddie...she is one hell of a woman and a fucking insanely talented one at that! The more the story went along the more I was taken by her and although I understand why she does a few things I am wondering if things would have been worse if she didn't do those things.

**Do you ever feel like you want to give away a big secret and wish everyone else was in on it with you.... I want to explode with all the knowledge you learn at the end of this book!!!**

Dex is an incredible human being! The way that he is just sucked me into his warm muscular body and had me trembling at every word spoken by the man. And okay to say that I was a little afraid of what I would find out at the end would be an understatement because what would happen to Dex.

I applaud this fascinating author with all her extraordinary characters and the ability to knock me on my ass along with making me want to sleep with everyone in this book, well almost everyone. I am so grateful to be trusted with the ability to get an arc of this book to give an honest review, because damn who wouldn't love this freaking book! It has romance, suspense, rock stars, loving parents, hot sex and even some danger! It has everything and you should all read it!! Congrats Rebel on a soon to be best seller because HOT DAMN you got me!!!

READ this Duet you will not be disappointed. Book 2 did not disappoint , it starts off right where False Start ends and just like that you are thrown back in to the past and present. Rebel keeps you guessing on so may things that I found my self yelling out loud and then holding my breath with how the story unfolded. I am so looking forward to anything Rebel writes. She has earned a spot in my one click Authors. I received and ARC for an honest review.

*** I will take this opportunity to express heart felt gratitude towards Author for providing me ARC of the book ***

My review is 4.55 stars.

Generally, authors commit a common mistake while writing down a sequel. They start the successor from a different note or carry the same scene forward from the last pages of predecessor but couldn't keep that well. "Pivot Line" is different from those, as Rebel perfectly started the book on the same note she ended the "False Start". The transition from Book 1 to Book 2 is flawless, literally, flawless. I was not able to find any hiccup in the transition.

In my review of "False Start", I never mentioned about the famous cliffhanger as I feel mentioning that the book ends with cliffhanger some cases make people wait to release the next part then read all on the trot. This book starts just from the first book's end and the deadly cliffhanger which was choking me for days. This is a silent weapon of the author to just increase the blood pressure of the reader to the peak & suddenly give them perfect amount of sedative to let them fall asleep with the agony of what is going to happen next. For this full marks to Author 10 on 10.

Whoever is thinking that I'm going to give some spoilers, bugger off, that is not going to happen ever on my watch.

This book is very engaging one, it needs complete concentration and after you'll start reading, the only thought that will be revolving in your head will be I need to finish this book ASAP, I need to finish this book ASAP, repeating n times... lol...

The story & the plot is so beautiful that I'm thinking what to say about them. First, the plot's evolution from Book 1 is amazing and second, the way the story progressed in book 2 is a revelation. Do you happen to have hairs? If yes, please cut down your nails because I don't want you to just go and pull your hair in excitement while reading this book. You'll pull your hairs, you'll bite your nails, you'll have turned in the stomach while reading this book. But, trust me, every bit of what I explained previously is worth it, like millions and billions of dollars.

The characters of the book are so good as they need to be. If I don't feel the connection with the characters I just strip down the whole story, but when I was reading this duet I was feeling like I'm a character in the midst of the story. For not a single moment I felt bored or disconnected from the character or the story. Of all the characters, I felt that Dex's character is quite strong.

In this genre, one of the most important aspects is the pace of the story. When there is some mystery & thrill, the common mistake is either the story becomes too fast or too slow. But not in this one, the pace is well controlled and beautiful. The way Author wrote the scenes are incredible, breath-taking and completely wow.

This book or I would say this "Duet" contains all sort of emotions like Romance, mystery, drama, thrill and I just loved the series. I just love love love love love the series. I was not wrong at all to say that she made to my favourite author's list with her debut book. This book is the concrete example of that.

Now I have only one more thing to do..."Wait for next one"...

Both the books "False Start" & "Pivot Line" are beautiful duet books. Both are complimenting each other to the very extent and superbly.

Wow, when I finished reading this amazing novel, I had to take a step back and reflect on what I had just read! This story starts straight on from the cliffy ending in “False Start”, and Maddie and Dex’s rollercoaster journey continues. This story smoothly switches between the present and flashbacks, and the twists and suspense are intense, as are the complex characters. I was totally captivated and intrigued throughout, and I am in awe of this authors’ talent and attention to detail. This is definitely an author to watch out for in the future, and I am certainly adding her to my favourites and 1-click lists!
I have no other words to describe this story, except Brilliant work Rebel!!

5 STARS FOR PIVOT LINE!! WOW, what a intense rollercoaster ride with so many twists and turns you will be shaking your head. This story is so full of lies, suspense, a stalker, sexy times, all the feels and complicated characters that you will fall in love with. You definitely need to read the first book of the duet, False Start first. Rebel Farris is a phenomenal author and writes so brilliantly, I love her stories and can't wait for more. This book is a continuation of False Start. You definitely will need to read Book One to understand the dynamics and inner workings of Book 2.

This story, overall was incredible. There are many characters and background information constantly flowing throughout the book. Whereas I liked the storyline, and I couldn't put it down once I became invested, it was extremely complicated. Unfortunately, I tell stories in this same manner and what I find is that when you get off in the weeds, you lose your audience. I stayed with it because I had to know who was killed, and what the outcome of the 'love story'. (Who ends up with who?) I can see how this writing style can alienate certain demographics of readers.

It is a well laid out story beginning to end. Great job for being the first 2 books that Rebel has written. She did an excellent job of capturing me for the long-haul. I will read the Hummingbird series that she has slated for 2019, because I got suckered into the story. I love the characters. They are broken, dark, risqué, quirky, loving, loyal and all around awesome. I wish I had friends like Mads has in this series.

Worth the read, just a fore-warning, there are a lot of characters to keep track of, so I recommend reading both books straight through.

I voluntarily gave an honest review after being given an Advance Reader Copy by the Rebel Farris.

Let me start out from my soapbox for a moment before I take off into the land unknown of fan girl gushing. Pivot Line is the "conclusion" of the Falling Small Duet, and again, IT'S A DUET, SO YOU MUST READ FALSE START FIRST! And I had to put conclusion in quotations, as I may or may not believe the story is over...but I'LL NEVER TELL! WOW JUST WOW! After finishing Maddie's journey, I feel like I could sleep for days, because I was all in, so it just wasn't a story, nope, it was an experience. My f-bomb dropping button is broken now, as there have been so many twists & turns, that that f word was all I could manage to utter. See, not only is this an off the charts suspenseful story, but there are so many different storylines swirling around, so the layers upon layers were intense! Rebel Farris is straight up, completely & utterly brilliant with penning an original story of this magnitude, as there were so many realistic points throughout, that I felt like I was experiencing real life with my friends. Not to mention how seamlessly she went back & forth between Now & Then, that I never found myself confused. I could go on & on for days, but it's just better for everyone to experience it for themselves! I CANNOT WAIT for Penalty Kill! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I really didn’t think this book could get any more intense after the last line of book 2, but I was wrong. The plot doesn’t get any easier it hitches up a notch as all of their secrets are revealed. We find out EVERYTHING and boy is it a mess. Keep it all straight now as this author once again takes us back and forward in time as we finally find out who has been stalking her and why (it will blow your mind). We also find out what other interest this damsel has and she is by no means a helpless damsel. It all comes out in the wash and it is a power wash to clean it all up.

This author provides us with more twist than the law allows, an intricate plot, and characters that bleed into your psyche and stay there. It’s an awesome read and it isn’t a standalone, it’s so much more.

4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow... I’m speechless, never have I read a story so jammed packed with information that it’s 1am and my brain won’t catch up to what I’ve just read. The sheer brilliance of Rebel Farris’ writing is astonishing, so many twists and turns. I am shocked at the ending, the final reveal, the truth we have all been waiting for.

This book picks up RIGHT after False Start and we are thrown straight into the story once again, this time with bigger developments and more jaw dropping moments. You will not be disappointed, as your questions are answers, truths are brought to light and more evidence comes to play. This series is part of a much larger series that Rebel is due to publish and I’m intrigued to see what happens with the other characters we were introduced to.

Much like the first book, there are still some key aspects of this story that are overlooked or under explored and the flitting between past and present is evident still.

Ooverall this story was ACE, words cannot describe the juiciness that this book is packing!!

This is the concluding part to the Falling Small duet and it's a stroke of genius! The twists and turns in this book will leave you turned upside down. The suspense picks up; questions will be answered; more will be raised, leaving you wanting more.

Pivot Line by Rebel Farris is absolutely phenomenal! Just when you think Farris can surprise you any more ...BOOM! She pulls the rug right out from under you, and still leaves you wanting more!

I loved these characters! I seriously want more of these characters! Farris definitely created a Duet that you’ll want to recommend to all your friends to read.

Pivot Line is packed with suspense, friendship, love, heartache, and mayhem. All the things I love in a great Suspense/Romance.

“The past is the past. It molds us into who we are, but it doesn’t define us.”

“I’ve never met someone filled with so much darkness that still manage to shine so bright.”

I will definitely be diving into Rebel’s other work immediately!

Mind blowing!

I’m really speechless. The twists, stops, starts, “then” and “now” force you to pay attention. This author has her own style and it rocks. I have no idea what I just read. But I do know it grabbed onto me and would’ve let go. It’s humbling for an author to read a book as mind blowing as this. This book picks up right where false start left off. I thought for sure I had it figured out who the stalker was, then something would happen to change my mind. When I found out who the stalker was my jaw dropped . The author had me on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn throughout the book. The plot thickens alot before all the secrets start unraveling. Buckle up and enjoy the journey.

Ok, these cliffhangers are really starting to get to me. Here I was, thinking this story would end with this book; poor little naive me. I started to get suspicious when I was 95% through and there will still a lot of loose ends but, hey, you never know what can happen in 5%. But, alas it didn't go that way. Not to say it's a bad thing - I'll keep reading until the mystery is solved. I had a theory for a while that seemed like it was going to pan out, but now I'm not sure. Luckily, there are only a few months until this tangled web starts back up again.

As with False Start, this story continues to be engaging and intriguing. Despite the fact that Dex has been around since the first book, I felt a little bit of instalove between them at the beginning, which I'm generally not a fan of, but I think that's only because the first book focuses so much on Maddie, her history, and all the important people in her life, which is what I loved about it. This book centers much more on the romance and ANSWERS, FINALLY, which is where it needed to be.

Thank god this is fiction because I don't think any one person could get through all the shit that Maddie and her group of friends do and come out without a straight jacket. It's one thing after another, but it's what makes this story so readable. I needed to know what happened next, even if that meant reading at work or staying up late to finish that next chapter. You get invested in these characters. And I'm sure I'll get sucked in again with the first book in the Seven Hummingbirds series. We better get some answers, y'all!

Please, please read the BoBS - you'll see just a fraction, I'm sure, of the love and time that Rebel Farris put into this series. I wish every book had a section like this because it's amazing to see where the genius and ideas come from. Until next time Hummingbirds!

This review contains no details. You need to read both books.

This is a new author. I took a chance on her. And so should you. In no uncertain terms will you be disappointed.

I finished False Start the night before Pivot Line was going to be released. Normally I would start another book right away (I read almost every night) but I couldn’t. There was no way in hell I could start another book after being so intrigued and invested in False Start.

Obviously I downloaded Pivot Line immediately the next day. And read it every chance I got until I finished this morning.

I don’t know how to express how much I enjoyed these books without sounding cheesy. I just couldn’t put them down. It can only be explained as a perfect storm: this deliciously enthralling story sprinkled throughout with intriguing ingredients.

I cannot wait to read her next books. Only one other author has captured me the same way and that’s Penelope Douglas, the Devil’s Night series.

Note: I don’t write reviews. It’s not that I don’t think authors deserve it. It’s just that I, for some unknown reason, feel kind of silly doing it. Rebel Farris - if you ever read this, you’re bloody brilliant and I’m dorking myself out to let you know.

Is it possible to be hooked to an authors work just by reading one book? I mean I've only read one book from this lady and I wanted more the minute that book ended. Jesus. I'm a mess...
Rebel Farris is superb. Her writting is dark, intense, raw and with so much meaning and desire between the lines. Go for it and let me know.
Pivot Line is the second book from the Falling Small duet and I totally advise you to read False Start first. You'll see why...
This book explores Dex's life.
Dex has only one goal and it's to find a killer. He needs to know in order to keep living his life the best he can.
Let me just say that I'm still speechless. I wasn't expecting this at all. What a I loved more about this book was the fact that it started right after where the other book one ended. All my questions were being answered at a pace that almost knock all the air from my lungs. Things were happening and I didn't know where I should turn to. Dayum. False Start was intense but this one is so much more... No words can make it justice.
Jesus Rebel you're seriously trying to kill me...
What is that brilliant mind creating? I can't imagine who's character will have their stories told.

Pivot Line was a great 5 star read.

We continue where False Start left off. The story is told in past and present.
Once I started I couldn’t put it down until I was done.Things continue to heat up between Dex and Maddie.

I’ve never met someone filled with so much darkness that still managed to shine so bright.

As things move forward Maddie continues to get messages from her stalker. We also get closer to knowing what happened in the past that sent her life in a spiral. And boy I was all over the place with the men in her past and present, WOW.

Maddie discovers that Dex is made for her in more ways than one. His darkness calls to hers and they connect so well. Can Maddie trust Dex? Can they have a HEA?

I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see who the stalker was. And boy there are some twists and turns that I definitely didn’t see coming. And the connections that are revealed really added to the story. All of the secondary characters were great, I loved how close and protective they all were. I was so excited to reach the end and finally get some answers and we get pushed into the next series with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read Seven Hummingbirds to see what happens. This series is definitely on my best reads of 2018 list.

4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

DOUBLE THE STARS!
Pivot Line is book 2 of the Falling Small Duet by author Rebel Farris. You must read False Start first as this book continues where it left off.
I gave False Start 5 Stars. It was an incredible debut book and checked all the boxes for me and then some! But this book? Double the freaking stars! Can I give a 10 star review?! Yes, yes I can because it's MY review!
I've always loved romance books and I've always loved suspense books but this duet is such a masterful combination of both! It was perfection for me as a reader.
Just like in False Start the author takes readers back and forth between past and present weaving a story that was so intense it had me utterly captivated and literally holding my breath at points waiting to see what was going to happen.
Maddie may be the strongest female character I have ever read! Her life has been full of heartache and pain and the way she overcame the tragedies in her past to make a life for herself is truly inspiring.
"It's the quiet moments that everything becomes too much to bear. When the sound of silence is so deafening, you can't think beyond it."
I could feel her fear when trying to decide whether or not to fully let Dex in and to let him know all of her. Her past loves had led her to believe she needed to hold back parts of herself to truly be accepted.
"This is it. This is the pivot line. He either accepts me or he walks away."
And Dex? Well I fell for Dexter McClellan pretty much instantly and just kept falling harder and harder for him as he fell for Maddie!
"I've never met someone filled with so much darkness that still managed to shine so bright. Like a moth to a flame, Firebird. I'm yours."
I could go on and on because I gave the highlighter on my Kindle a workout in this book but I want you to read it for yourself!
I am absolutely crazy about the supporting characters in these books and cannot wait to read their stories! Rebel Farris writes somes sinfully sexy men that left me swooning and desperate to know more! Their stories are coming so make sure you keep an eye out!
The crazy twists and turns this story takes will have you worshiping and cursing the author in equal measure but believe me when I say you are in for the ride of your life!

We pick up right where False Start left off and holy smokes I couldn’t get enough. Mad’s is still being stalked and those around her are constantly in danger. I can’t even begin to describe my reaction when the stalker is exposed- JAW DROPPED! The “then and now” throughout the story keeps you in total control of what’s happening and you’re never lost with these characters. I’m torn between Law and Dex but in the end I’m #TeamDex hands down. This story is a complete page turner from beginning until the end and although we’re given a closing to an extent we’re also given a slight cliffhanger that will leave you impatiently waiting for the next book to be released. Phenomenal job by this author with keeping me on my toes throughout the story and leaving unanswered questions in my mind afterwards.

I really don't know how to rate this book.
I read it thinking it was a duet, but it seems like there will be SEVEN more books before we get a real ending!! Really?? Don't know if I have the patience for that....

This is a brilliant, heart tugging second in the series. This was a great book I couldn't put it down. The story line flowed kept you wanting more. It had me on the edge of my seat. Both main characters were strong, and loyal. Maddie was so damaged thinking she couldn't be put back together. She took care of her family and her friends, but could she take care of herself. Dex is not what he seems. He falls for Mad and wants to help her fix herself. This ends in a cliffhanger> I can't wait to read the next. I recommend it to all it was a great read. I received it as an arc and voluntarily reviewed it.

Mind-blowing! I’m no masochist but I really did enjoy the sweet slow torture that was delivered with this book.

Pivot Line is the partner to False Start the first book in the Falling Small duet. False Start sets the table and Pivot Line delivers the meal. I couldn’t move after devouring this story I was grounded, unable to escape the thoughts going through my mind.

This truly is a suspense filled mystery and its hard to describe the plot in depth without giving away spoilers and I would love you to get the same pleasure out of this book as I did. It has dramatic relationships and beautiful friendships entwined amongst these very complex characters. I also love how it addresses issues that are heart wrenching yet need to be brought out in the open for everyone to be aware of.

I waited anxiously for this book as False Start did finish on a cliffhanger. I was in awe when we were gifted with a very powerful message in the form of a wonderful poem, that will stay with me for a long time.

This is a “now and then” novel but it is very easy to determine which dimension you are in they flow to perfection, just the right amount to have you wanting more.

So descriptive and visual you feel like it is playing out before your eyes. The girlfriends share a very special bond and the men are all hot and swoon worthy, often demanding yet passionate, each with their own charisma. Maddie is a powerhouse, only through her turbulent past has she evolved, and this is her story. I just loved it.

“I walked the earth seemingly normal , but so shattered inside it was like a kaleidoscope in there”

Secrets, lies, death, love, passion, vulnerability, power so many levels of emotions to experience you will feel like your caught in maze and each path you trace is built to bring you to the end and although you have discovered some of the mystery there is so much more to uncover with the Seven Hummingbirds and I’m more than happy that I’m still trapped.

There was a tease of “Snapshot” – the next stand alone novel it’s a dark romantic suspense and I’m hooked.

I knew you were going to be one to look out for Rebel.
