Volume 5 deals with day 3 and day 4 of the current Reversi game. There's lots of character development here: Akashi and Rei fall for each other, Hara Kai undergoes a major transformation, and we learn about Ushimitsu's past and how he ended up how he is now. The volume concludes with day 4 being complete, and the game master essentially declaring he's about to take things up a notch. Gonna be good! 5/5

Ahhhhh. I swear I get a new experience every time I reread this series 🤣

Akashi is seriously one of the best male leads ever, especially in a death game scenario… and vol 5 truly makes you realize it! His reactions are perfection. No spoilers but this volume hurt!

And I want to comment on Kai Hara here - I’ve always thought his growth through the death game was super interesting… because he goes through a rough patch where he thinks violence is the answer.
