What a ride!!!! Damian and Alice's story is at full throttle! Theirs passion,action and some really hot steamy sex with a host of villians you just love to hate! But their is a couple of big reveals as well. We find out not only who the viscount leader of the dark Lord's is,but what the dark and dangerous and oh so fucking sexy more beast then man Damian novak one of BioDhrome’s most deadly and feared upgrade past is which is full of murder death and abuse and how it shaped him into what he has become.But theirs more to the executioner and he's willing to be tourchered and even give his life to save alice from finally knowing the secret that he has been keeping from her! Will alice still love Damian after she sees what he truly is??? You see the executioner is not only part man but a creature as old as time and what alice is about to see will scare the hell out of her,but will the love she feels for him be enough! Bravo Ana Calin !!! Another fabulous read!!! I loved the twist for damian,and just want to say if Alice doesn't want him I got room for this bad boy in my bed anytime!! He might be dark and scary but DAMN HE'S HOT!!!!

Fantastic book about people with superpowers.
The story held my interest throughout the entire book, it had a lot of action and suspense and was completely unexpected. I liked that Damien is constantly protecting Alice even though she seems to be in the process of “upgrading”.
You never really know what is happening with Alice. You know she is getting more beautiful and guys are noticing her more. Also every once in a while Alice experiences some odd event where she hears an inner voice. So it is exciting to see what her superpower will be.

My brain caught fire. I barely refrained from turning, and took a break to calm down before I spoke.
“And what did you do?”
“I refused, Alice, of course. I may be a monster, but I’m not a psychopath.”

I just LOVED this book! What a great romantic suspense novel with such a gritty and dark tone that I DEVOURED it as quickly as part one. Damian and Alice's love story will sweep you off your feet!
Damian really shines in this second installment; whether as the cold blooded killer, the determined protector, the sexy as hell hero, or the seductive alpha lover. He's my kind of male lead and such a unique complex character that I could have read about him alone and loved it. Add his tragic past and ultimate TRUTH of his identity (which surprised me in a good way) and he's just IRRESISTIBLE.
Alice really comes into her own after the first book and we learn much more about her and the aftermath of book one. No spoilers but enjoyed the twists and turns in book 2 even more than book 1. In the end they get their HEA which is why I just ADORED this series and hope there's more to come, possibly a story about Leona and the Viscount. Once again a well-written, suspenseful, dark, edgy thriller with enough heat and spice to keep you riveted from start to finish.
Add to your MUST READ list. Highly recommended!!

Even though I started with the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone, which is always a bonus. The premise was incredibly interesting: a secret corporation turning (or actually “upgrading”) people into something bigger, stronger, and possessing abilities that are beyond any mortal’s reach. The two main characters, Damien (an Upgrade) and Alice, the girl whom he fell in love with despite the fact that he wasn’t supposed to experience any such feelings, find themselves in the middle of a conflict where no one could be trusted, and where their very lives will be in danger. I enjoyed both the fast-paced plot which was indeed movie-worthy and the wide spectrum of characters, good and evil, who made the story even more interesting. Enjoyed it very much!

Fast paced and steamy!
It didn't take me long to sink right back into Damian and Alice's world, and just like the first Executioner this story was fast paced, and actioned packed. And loaded with some of the steamiest romance I've read in a long time. I actually fanned myself with my kindle a few times! Ana Calin has a gift in that department and a die hard fan!

I can’t get enough of these characters. I sure hope they’re in the next book some. I’d like to say to the readers who’ve read book one and aren’t sure about reading this one, read it. You will be blown away to find out what Damian is. I sort of thought that during part of the beginning of book two but not really. I was ecstatic and shocked in a good way. Now I wonder about Varlam after Alice did what she did to him. I wish he would have a book. I was going to give this book four stars because I feel like the author could condense the two into one. There are several places where it’s just Alice acting like an immature teenager with her feelings. Just repeats all throughout both books. Don’t worry, it’s not enough to make you not want to read. But I feel like the author would’ve kept more readers who stopped at book one due to the fact it sort of ended with a cliffhanger. I especially think she should’ve revealed what Damian was at the end of the first book. But in the end, I gave five stars. It kept me reading constantly. I’m sad it’s over. The author reminds me of Christine Feehan’s writing and also a more mature and better Twilight. It’s a unique read that will stay with me long after the final page. I like the fact that the author is from another country and the book is set there. It’s neat to read little things that another culture puts in the writing. One being at the end, the mention of people smoking at a table in a restaurant lol. This hasn’t happened in America in so long that it seems peculiar. I love it.

I liked book two even more than book one, but I have to say I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the whole story. Very creative with interesting characters who just keep growing on you as each new facet is revealed. I highly recommend these books if you’re looking for an out of the ordinary romantic intrigue.

The Executioner is the second book in the series which picks up right where book one has left off. This book does a great job of getting you up to speed on what has happened before without going into too much detail to weigh the story down. From the beginning, there is plenty of action, whether it’s passionate, jealousy, or tension. As you begin reading, this seems like it could be modern times until you realize there are a group of people who have been ‘upgraded’ to near invincibility, which is an interesting twist on a typical Romance. We learn more about the clash between BioDhrome, the creators of the upgraded people, and the Order of Lords. This story is great for anyone looking for a quick action book with a touch of sultry sex sprinkled in and don’t forget the surprise ending which will satisfy even the most hard to please audiences.

I'll say this right off the bat. I just love Damien in these books. We get to see his sexy side in book two, and I'll just say...drool! That take charge alpha male thing that we love to read is alive and well in this book. But it's not just sex here, it's there..and you will love it, but the plot is great. I just loved it. It kept me reading and I didn't want to put it down until I was finished.
It was hot, and suspenseful, and a serious page turner. Ana Calin has done it again. She's one you will want to keep an eye on, especially if you are a fan of this genre. Add her to all your favorite lists, you won't want to miss a thing. These books have real substance, and just a damn great story.

This book starts off a fast pace and keeps it up throughout the whole thing, with Alice finding herself drawn to Damian but learning about her own self too! Damian is the protective, complicated, alpha male that makes it impossible not to love him and even less possible not to cheer for their happily ever after as they are pulled into an adventure of running from Biotech and uncovering the truth.
I love the honest way feelings are described, the layers of each character, and the twists and turns along the way! The author has a knack for emotional depth and brilliant paranormal additions.
This book is the second in a series, a series that I admit I’m reading backwards, though I recommend you read it forward! The whole series is pretty awesome!

It's like beauty and the beast on steroids.
A wonderfully written story that has plenty of action, suspense and heart-pounding moments of love making! The story follows the tale of Alice and Damian who both fall head over heels in love with each other as they evade the bad guys that want Damian, the executioner, to pay for all the lives he's taken from his twisted background. Along the way, Alice becomes more emboldened as she grows into her natural abilities, especially in some of the more emotional times when danger is growing around her. I found this to be a quick and easy read. I highly recommend this series!

Couldn't put it down
After really enjoying the first book in this series I couldn't wait to read the second, and it did not disappoint. The dark undertone to this love story meant I literally couldn't put it down, as I just needed to know what happened next. Damians backstory is probably my favourite part, finding out how he became who he is and (trying not to spoil it here) realising how different he could have turned out had a big impact.
Hoping there will be another installment!!

This is a wonderful continuation to the first book. It picks the story up right where the first left off. It is an intruguing and exciting read that is fast-paced and well-written. The characters are so highly developed that I could not put it down. I was drawn into the story and the incredible world the author created. There was never a dull moment, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. This series is a must read for all readers who love paranormal romance with twists and surprises. There are steamy moments that made me blush, and true romance lovers will enjoy them.

It's non stop action from the first page as our hero, the fabulous Damian, fights his inner demons and his past.
The author has also written a really strong female lead, one who has gone against friends and family to take a chance on the man she loves. The descriptions of the scenery, fights, love scenes, and characters all add to the dynamic of this great read. Confess that I am hooked and want to read more of the series.

Part two of this series hits the ground running and readers will need to have read book one to fully appreciate the story and avoid getting lost. A unique fantasy element comprising of 'upgraded humans', mixed with a steamy romance and an action packed thriller. Fast paced, plenty of sexy alpha male (drool) and intrigue.

After reading Part One couldn’t wait for Part 2 - and it did not disappoint. This was a great, suspenseful story. Couldn’t put it down. Absolutely loved Damian! Ana did a wonderful job with the story. Received an ARC and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

I enjoyed this book, it had me hooked from the beginning. Damien is a possessive alpha male that keeps a person biting their lip for more. Great twists in the story to keep us interested.

I was a bit disappointed in the book. I loved book 1 and was really looking forward to this one. I think it was mainly the female MC, Alice. How many times can a woman faint during a crisis and wake up after the danger has passed? The storyline is good and I did enjoy the “thriller” aspect of it.

Were Damien and the other Upgrades demons or gargoyles. I had trouble following the storyline. Other Ana Calin books I loved.
