In rural Sweden, a terror from the past has reemerged. The locals have spotted a Bastion roaming the woods, and they know it's only a matter of time before the dangerous omnic tries to destroy them.
In the eleventh issue of the Overwatch comics, we follow Torbjörn in Sweden, as an old threat, a Bastion, returns to the forest. As per usual, he goes to dispose of it, however, this time, something is different.
I loved this issue of the OVW comics, albeit not as much as I love other ones. This was really sweet, adorable almost, and I did aww a few times. The art work is excellent, as per the previous issues, and it definitely made me smile numerous times. The colouring is well done, and the “bad guys” in this issue definitely made me laugh in the last few pages. The last page itself made me giggle so loud, I actually upset my cat.
Another brilliant instalment in the Overwatch comics, and one of my favourites so far, for sure.
In this Overwatch comic issue #11 Binary we find a killer Bastion unit roaming the woods. However it doesn’t seem to be doing what it was programmed to do, it is not killing pretty much everything. This one is stopping and talking to birds, beavers and squirrels. Something is different about it and Torbjörn is bound and determined to find out what is going on with it. But in the meantime he must protect it from the local villagers who want to destroy it.
The writing in this comic is pretty simple, nothing fancy to write home about. The artistry is well done and in a style that I like. It however does have DRM, so I have to subtract a point for that.
Since all of the Overtwatch comics are about 10 pages long I'll only be doing mini reviews for them.
I really loved this comic, as a fan of Torbjorn it was great to get more insight into his background and personality. I wasn't expecting that ending either.
You know what they say about assuming. It does show that people and sentient beings can change. Glad they show that. The series isn't just people good machines bad. It is far more nuanced than that.
Bastion being a gentle omnic that even Torbjorn can't go against, speaks to the nature of both these characters. I have to say that I was pretty impressed. So much was said with so little, and I'd be lying if I didn't say that I want more. Because I do. I very much do.
Awesome story and great art illustrations for the comic. The story it kind of reminds me of Blade Runner, Cyberpunk, Cyberpunk 2020, and Cyberpunk 2077 stories.
I had fun reading this chapter of Overwatch comic series.
