I liked this story quite a bit. I was really excited to give this book a try after reading a novella written by Sara Richardson recently and enjoying it. I was not disappointed. This book is listed as the fourth book in the Rocky Mountain Riders series but works perfectly fine as a stand alone novel. Once I started reading this story I didn't want to stop and ended up finishing it in a single day. I am so glad that I decided to pick up this book.
Everly lives on a farm and runs a farm to table restaurant. She is finally living the life that she wants and is very happy even when her livestock gives her a rough time. Mateo is a bronc rider who decides to buy some land as an investment. He feels a lot of responsibility for his family and worries about what will happen when he can no longer compete. The land that Mateo buys is the same land that Everly rents and had hoped to buy herself someday. An entertaining series of events leaves them sharing a home on the land and getting to know each other a lot better.
I loved Everly from the start. She isn't afraid of hard work and is a very patient person. She had been living a completely different life but realized that it wasn't really what she wanted so she made some changes and really is doing what makes her happy. Even when things don't go the way she hoped they would, she is able to stay positive and try to look for new solutions. Mateo really was a good guy as well. He bought the land in order to provide security for himself and his family. He really found himself in a difficult situation and didn't want to cause any trouble for Everly.
I loved these two together. They had a whole lot of chemistry from the very beginning and I think that it grew as they got to know each other better. Even when they seemed to be the opposite side of things the pull between them never stopped. I liked that they were honest with each other and seemed to want to open up to each other. It was just a whole lot of fun watching these two come together.
I would recommend this book to others. I had a great time with this pair and couldn't help but want to seem them make it work. I think that this book was a really nice blend of great characters, a believable romance, some humor, and a few intense moments. I would not hesitate to read more from Sara Richardson in the future.

I liked this one. Everly and Mateo had quite a bit of chemistry with each other and their characters were very likeable. They did have some pretty big obstacles to overcome which was interesting to watch. There were a lot of interesting secondary characters that added to the book.

Everly is renting a farm in Topaz Falls, Colorado after she left San Francisco as a lawyer. She wanted to start over with a new life. Even runs a cafe. Then her landlord sells the property to Mateo who is a bronc rider and needs money for his family so he is not going to renew Everly's lease and have condos built on the property.
Then these 2 start getting close and he keeps putting off telling her. But when she does find out them watch out because what ever was going on between them she puts a stop to.
Also Everly's dad pays a visit and tells her to come back home where she belongs and get her license back to be a lawyer again. He will not listen to her so threatens to cut her off.
The people in this town rally around Everly and even though they all know Mateo they seem to be on Everly's side.
Then these 2 start getting close and he keeps putting off telling her. But when she does find out them watch out because what ever was going on between them she puts a stop to.

True-Blue Cowboy was one of the best, fell good, sweet and heartwarming stories I've read in a very long time. Richardson knows how to write lovable characters with heart.

When the past is not forgotten…
Cowboys and love in a small town in Colorado was the perfect escape. I mean it had me at cowboys! Mateo personified all the qualities with his love of bronc riding, his devotion to family, and his need to provide and protect. He loved the ladies too (and they loved him) but his family was his heart. When Everly made him question his plans for the future he was not happy… Love and her family had burned Everly badly. Leaving everything behind – family, her career, her whole life - she changed gears completely, finding her niche in Topaz Falls and the people who lived in it. A blind date and all the plans were in jeopardy…
Sweet, full of drama, I loved this small-time romance with big heart feels. They both struggled with heartbreaking losses and betrayals, pain they bonded over but was hampered by their very different visions of the future. The story was full of light-hearted moments, pesky (and lovable) friends and supporting characters already loved if you’ve read this series before.
I laughed and cried and finished this story with a happy sigh… Thankful there are more stories to come. ~Diane, 4.5 stars

When Everly's friend arrange a double date with two cowboys, bronc rider Mateo Torres think it'll be an other evening of keeping a lady happy and entertained. But the young woman have other things on her mind, still thinking about her ex-fiancé's betrayal. If you think it's about cheating, think again. The author choose a couple of original twists about the MC's life's journey that I don't remember ever seeing in a romance novel. It was well done and believable too.
Everly Brooks is a former lawyer who left San Francisco, her family and friends to reinvent herself in Topaz Falls, Colorado. She rented a farm where she grows vegetables, raise animals like chickens, ducks and goats, bake and sell and serve her products at her café. And when she have the time, she teach cooking classes and deliver food for people in need.
The double date would have finally been a night of fun if clumsy words weren't said. Two weeks later, Evelyn learn that her landlord sold the farm, to none other than Mateo. And the bronc rider have other plan for it and don't plan to renew her lease. He come from a Mexican family and they struggled financially after his father's death. He wants to partner with a property developer to make money and help his mother and sisters. But thank God for a flood situation that mean living with Evelyn for a month. It'll show him how important the farm is, not just for her, but also for the whole community of Topaz Falls. His stupid heart insist to care, but how can it choose between his desire and his family's needs ??? And there's also this secret he's been keeping from his kin.
"Emotions clashed inside her-anger and embarrassment, but also a scrap of tenderness that had somehow survived the immense disappointment he'd leveled on her."
I was so happy to be back at Topaz Falls. The author have a great way to describe the environment that makes me want to live there. This series is getting better and better with each books. Like I said, a couple of things took me by surprise and others completely charmed me. Like when Mateo teach Everly how to dance (cowboy style), or that he talked to her in Spanish and translate for her (and me too ;p) what he said, his funny and totally improvised rules at the beginning, and also the fact that Mateo thought about the impact of not only turning upside down the heroine's life but he thought about the animals' well-being as well.
"Puedo tener suficiente de ti, bebé." He slid his hands down her back and under her butt, centering her on his lap. He was hard and strong-all muscle and brawn-but his hands were tender on her body, moving up over her thighs to caress her lower back. "That means I can't get enough of you, baby," he whispered hotly in her ear."

I had read a couple of the other books in this series, so I requested this one pretty early.
I liked Everly and Mateo well enough. They’re both good people in wildly different places in their lives and it was interested to see how that played out. This time around, the mass of secondary characters threw me because I only recognized a couple of them.
Plot wise, it lagged for me. My kindle said this is just shy of 450 pages and it definitely felt like it. Especially when not all of the various backstories and plot points felt necessary.
My main complaint is that I just didn’t see the chemistry between Everly and Mateo. Their conversations seemed shallow and the few talks of their pasts were so short. There wasn’t any flirting or playfulness and that’s what I’m reading this genre for.
Overall, it was a decent read and I do like this setting and group characters, so I know I’ll be looking into the next book.

Cowboy book boyfriend alert!!!
WOW!! Just WOW!! I love to find these kinds of stories, full of love, passion, awesome characters and one beautiful happily ever after!! True-Blue Cowboy captivated me with the beautiful soul of Everly, and the golden heart of Mateo. And I’m so happy with the outcome of their love story.
Everly was a lawyer back in San Francisco but her bright future was ruined and she was forced to start all over again. Three years later she is living a simple and quiet life in a small town in Colorado, running a farm and a cafe, and building a great and meaningful relationship with the people in town. One of her friends set her up with Mateo Torres, the sexy cowboy in town. And it was a disaster of a date— Well, kind of… But things got complicated when Mateo purchases the land where the farm, the house, and the restaurant is and he has plans very different from the plans Everly’s.
I cried and laughed and sighed with this book. Everly cares so much for her friends and the people in the town. She has found happiness and a true meaning in life in what she does in the farm and the restaurant. But she hasn’t completely moved on from what happened all those years ago in San Francisco— and her parents don’t help either, UGH —but Mateo *SIGHHHHH* came with his crazy plans and destabilized everything for her!! IN A VERY GOOD WAY!! But at first, it didn’t look like it, and that was what kept me stick to this book.
I loved the plot of True-Blue Cowboy , the characters were simply amazingly developed and the conflict in their story was greatly built and beautifully solved.
Highly recommended.

This is my first of Sara’s books and it totally quenched my thirst for some cowboy romance. I really enjoyed Everly and Mateo’s story. Definitely looking forward to reading more from this series and author.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I've been wanting to read more cowboys and this one sounded really cute. The heroine is a farmer and the hero is a bronc rider who recently bought the land her farm sits on. He's got different plans for what he wants to use the land for and wants her out, but fate has different plans when he is forced to move in with her. Fun setup, right?
Well, this book was a nice quick, read but at the same time it felt like a Harlequin Presents story. Does that even make sense? It was simple and uneventful with a lot of every day events narration. While I found it fun that the heroine is chasing her farm animals around, I didn't need pages of it. After a while I just started to skim some parts because of it.
The story, though? It was fun. There's a tiny dash of danger towards the end and some emotional parts in the middle. While I can't say I was fully on board with a "love" connection I still liked the two main characters together and I loved how opposites they were but how could see how they could work.
This was my first Sara Richardson read, at least that I can remember. I think it fits the mood for when you're looking for something easy going and sweet.

Everly has found her heart in a small town, running a cafe and tending her small family of farm animals. Away from her past, the heartbreak and the life she had that went up in flames. Happy and content now, she has finally found home, teaches cooking classes to the older menfolk in town, baking the best baked goods around and her famous scones; all this while chasing her too often wayward duck, rounding up her chickens for the night and let's not forget the goats. Things change for her when Mateo Torres comes back to town, a champion bull rider and he's training for yet another competition. He takes care of his mother and two sisters back in Mexico, and the youngest sister in college in Washington. When a chance to secure a future for his family comes up he takes it, without thinking of the repercussions it would have. He's just bought the land that Everly leases which includes her cafe, farm and the house she lives in. His plan is to mow it all down and along with another local developer build condos and amenities for wealthy people. He doesn't know how much longer he can ride the circuit, his oldest brother has been missing for years which he feels tremendous guilt over, he overcompensates with his family and also falls for Everly. Problem is that he fails to mention to her that when her lease expires in two months he won't be renewing it.
Worse yet, he doesn't tell Everly in a timely fashion and tells her after they have become intimate.
Frankly there were a couple things about the story I didn't like, which I should hold on until I say what I did like. The plot is great, I loved Everly and the whole story made me homesick for the farm I grew up on. The townspeople were delightful and I loved the 3 older men she had cooking lessons with. There were a lot of good laughs in this story. The story flowed well enough. Leads me around to what I didn't like, first off her three friends. Darla was the worst. I get that we all have that one slutty friend who likes to talk about who she wants to nail or thinks one of her friends should, but all she does is run her mouth. She grated on my nerves in the worst way and didn't add to the story. She was distracting as ____. Secondly and main character, Mateo. History aside, he was a coward and didn't really measure up to that hero status that we find in so many other books. I don't think he was anything special and could easily have slid into a secondary character role. Not to mention his behavior and deceit. Even his bud Levi pointed out how wrong that was. He waits until zero hour to
try and make things right and for me it was too little too late. I would have told him thanks but no thanks. He lacked that cowboy charm. I love cowboys and a good cowboy story just makes it all the better. Everly deserved better especially after everything she'd been through and what a wonderful little niche she had carved out for herself, on her own. With no help.
But despite all that, still a great story and a good read.

Everly has remade herself after leaving the big city and losing her law career. Now she has her farm, her animals, her café, her friends and a whole town who loves her. Life is finally promising and bright, and she has big plans for the future of her farm. But the rug gets pulled out from under her when her landlord retires to Florida, selling the farm to hotshot bronc rider, Mateo Torres. Mateo has big plans for his newly acquired investment property and they don’t include his earthy, natural beauty of a tenant or her farm and café. It doesn’t matter that he can’t forget the one kiss they shared or that he's constantly drawn to her, constantly thinking about her, because it’s just business.
Sara Richardson really knows cowboys, so I was eager to read an early copy of this book. I've been a fan of her work from the beginning and already had an appreciation for her skill and talent, but she really bested herself with Everly’s and Mateo’s story. Everything about this book was pure perfection. From the gorgeous, picturesque setting to the wonderful sense of community and delightfully quirky supporting cast (which includes the farm animals possessing a surprising amount of personality) the scene is set for a fun, frolicking, feel-good read.
Everly was such a phenomenal heroine. A self-made woman after leaving behind everything she knew, she was warm and compassionate, teaching senior widowers to cook and reaching out to neighbors who were struggling, yet strong and determined, remodeling her home, taking care of her farm and running her café. At first glance, Mateo looks like the stereotypical rodeo king, traveling from event to event with a string of buckle bunnies in his wake, but then we learn that from the age of sixteen, everything he's done is motivated by his need to take care of his mother and sisters back in Mexico. You know it's some gifted writing when an author can make you fall in love with a character you’re supposed to hate, and as much as I adored Everly, my heart went out to Mateo. The impossible situation between him and Everly along with their growing attraction made for the perfect amount of push and pull. With a couple of additional subplots, there was plenty of angst which only made the outcome more evocative and heartfelt. For a fairly light-hearted read, this book had an amazing amount of complexity, depth and emotion that came through in the smallest, seemingly insignificant scenes and interactions. Beautifully crafted, poignantly touching, immensely pleasurable and endlessly satisfying, don’t miss this fantastic read!

Sara Richardson really knows cowboys, so I was eager to read an early copy of this book. I've been a fan of her work from the beginning and already had an appreciation for her skill and talent, but she really bested herself with Everly’s and Mateo’s story. Everything about this book was pure perfection. From the gorgeous, picturesque setting to the wonderful sense of community and delightfully quirky supporting cast (which includes the farm animals possessing a surprising amount of personality) the scene is set for a fun, frolicking, feel-good read.
Everly was such a phenomenal heroine. A self-made woman after leaving behind everything she knew, she was warm and compassionate, teaching senior widowers to cook and reaching out to neighbors who were struggling, yet strong and determined, remodeling her home, taking care of her farm and running her café. At first glance, Mateo looks like the stereotypical rodeo king, traveling from event to event with a string of buckle bunnies in his wake, but then we learn that from the age of sixteen, everything he's done is motivated by his need to take care of his mother and sisters back in Mexico. True-Blue Cowboy is a romantic story about Everly, a former lawyer in San Francisco who moved to a farm in Colorado after her heart, her confidence and her career were broken apart, and Mateo, a cowboy with hero-complex that feels the constant need of taking care of his family, both emotionally and financially.
This leads Mateo to buy the farm Everly is leasing. Although their relationship starts when they're set up on a blind date, we don't know this "trick" from Mateo until after they've already met.
In my opinion, the first half of the book is kind of slow, only with a few interesting moments here and there,
The story was a little bit different that what I was expecting but, overall, I enjoyed it.

TRUE-BLUE COWBOW shows two different people’s dreams and how when they intercross all kinds of wonderful things can happen… if they let them. Everly left behind a high powered career along with the stress and troubles that can go right along with it. She’s living her new dream of raising chickens, growing her own vegetables and running her farm to restaurant cafe with ease and joy. Sure, it’s a lot of hard work but she’s not afraid of that. She’s doing what she loves and in a little bit of time she can afford to buy this land no longer rent it – then everything will be perfect. Unless her landlord decides to sell earlier than she thought… and the buyer doesn’t intend to renew her lease.
Mateo has plans for the land he just bought. He’s not the kind of man who would set out to intentionally ruin someone’s dreams… yet he also has dreams of providing for his family so they would never be in need or want again. So whose dream is more important? Actually, neither but he owns the land and the final decision is his. What he didn’t plan on was a stubborn, feisty woman that he’d love to be involved with under different circumstances. Or on having to share that farmhouse with Everly when his trailer flooded. Living in the same space is giving them a better chance to know each other and understand why those dreams are so important. Maybe a compromise like… maybe falling in love could solve a few of those problems?
Once again, Sara Richardson takes TRUE-BLUE COWBOY a little deeper and tackles the underlying reasons that Mateo’s and Everly’s dreams are so important to them and why neither should have to give them up. I enjoyed their romance very much. I loved Everly’s determination and her need to fight for something of her own, something she could draw strength and faith in herself from. And I adored Mateo’s devotion to his family and the softer side that soon began to see Everly’s side even if her dream did cross over into his. It’s always a treat to run into a few familiar faces. Overall, I had fun returning to t his world and I’m ready for another visit.

I said Book 3 was my least favorite and it may still be, but this one was also lacking in the romance department. I wasn't feeling the love between Mateo and Everly. Sure, they were obviously attracted to one another and I think given time, I could see them pursuing a long-term relationship. But for me, it's hard to believe they fell in love after sleeping together a couple times and only seeing each other on occasion. There were no phone calls or dates, just a few conversations here and there when they weren't actively avoiding one another.
Mateo and Everly were wonderful people. I had no complaints with them as people and loved their heart for helping others. Sure, Mateo wasn't exactly doing the honorable thing by letting Everly keep her farm initially, but he had the best of intentions to provide for his famil back in Mexico. But I had to give him credit for being loyal to his family. And I loved that Everly didn't turn her nose up at others even though she grew up wealthy and was a former attorney. Instead, she provided free resources to the community when they were in need and really embraced the farming and small-town life.
I've read the previous books in the series, so I was familiar with the cast of characters (although there are a lot to keep up with and it's overwhelming). I loved getting to see all of them again, even though I couldn't recall their stories at times.
I wish the book had been longer so that we could have seen them actually get to know one another more and make the romance believable. It was fairly short, at around 280 pages, I believe. But at least there's a bonus story from A.J. Pine included that I haven't read yet :-)

Everly Brooks is living what she believes is her dream, a small café, some chickens, a goat, a small garden, a few ducks and hopefully she will be able to buy the farm the she is renting one day. That all changes when Mateo Torres bronc rider buys the land with ideas of an investment. Wanting to turn it into condos. Not being back in the town in a while he is surprised to find that Everly has everyone by the heart and the stomach. People don’t just come for her coffee, but also for her food and pastries. Now fighting with a women he figures without talking to her is going to go back to San Francisco, is surprised and shocked when people in the town begin to turn on him when they find out that he wants to kick her out. This is of course after she has him come into the house to live because his trailer gets flooded. When she overhears what he is going to do and not really from him she tells him to leave. Torres keeps thinking like he is getting the bad end of the deal, but all he is thinking about is himself really, and it is not until he realizes he wants ,more that he decides to change and go to Everly. Everly Brooks is a high-powered lawyer turned farmer who loves the new life she has made for herself in Topaz Falls, CO. She is a kind-hearted, compassionate woman who gives back to the local community in a variety of quiet, thoughtful ways. Although Everly's parents are displeased with her decisions, she remains firm when they attempt to bend her to their will. Thankfully, she has a wonderful group of women with whom she finds the love and support she needs to make her dreams a reality.
Bronc rider Mateo Torres has a successful career on the rodeo circuit but he is realistic enough to realize he needs to plan for his future. He has been providing financial support to his mother and sisters for most of his adult life. In order to ensure his fiscal future is secure, Mateo makes an investment purchase that he plans to develop into luxury condos. The only problem? Everly is his tenant.

Everything about the bronc rider was dark—from his eyes to his clothes to the cowboy hat he wore tipped forward on his head. Mystery wrapped itself in the shadows of his face, hiding secrets he likely didn’t want to share. The tattered jeans he wore gloved his lower body, but somehow he still had room to swagger. And he didn’t have to try. Mateo Torres was a man who could swagger without moving a muscle.
Studying him, Everly finally understood why the women in town referred to him as Zorro. The lustrous dark hair, the tanned skin, and seductive eyes made him appear downright dangerous, but his irresistible smile fooled his prey into thinking he was harmless.

This author just sucks me in every single time. The chemistry between Everly and Mateo is undeniable, although they spend the majority of the book trying to deny it themselves. It’s fun and, at the same time, tense to watch.
From the outside, it would seem Mateo is a womanizing man-whore who only cares about himself. That’s only because Mateo doesn’t let anyone see the real person inside. He shares just enough of his personal life so his closest friends think they know all there is to know. Yet he keeps so much more under wraps making him seem like a not-so-great guy. He’s fine with that. In fact, that’s they way he likes it. Until he starts spending more and more time with Everly and finds himself telling her things nobody else knows about him with no real thought as to why he keeps opening up to her.
Everly also finds herself letting down her guard with Mateo in a way she hasn’t with anyone ever, especially in the last few years since her life took a complete 180. While Everly has been hurt badly in the past, and she knows Mateo is more than likely going to crush her heart, she is drawn to him like nothing else. What I adore about her is she is so understanding with Mateo’s plight. She doesn’t like what he’s doing and how he goes about telling her things, but since she does have some insight into his real life, she understands his position. Yes, she’s upset. But she realizes pretty quickly that it does her no good to be angry with him.
To watch both Everly and Mateo circle each other is a joy. There is something so innocent about their shaky friendship. Mateo cannot help but to help Everly out at the farm, although it makes no sense for him to do so. He’s drawn to her and wants to help her while also knowing he’s going to destroy her. Everly cannot help but be touched by the little things Mateo does for her even when she wants to keep him firmly in the “bad guy” category.
I look back at last summer and am so glad I decided not to skip this author’s Hometown Cowboy that was included in the edition of Carolyn Brown’s Luckiest Cowboy of All I was reading. (I almost did due to timing issues.) I found an amazing author that I’m loving more and more.

Everly Brooks is making big changes in her life, she's saying goodbye to the glitz and glamour of the city, and saying hello to the countryside in Colorado... it's a big step, but a step in the direction to her dream. She wants to grow her own produce, raise her own chickens, and take that farm fresh product and put it on the tables of her new restaurant, but before it really starts taking shape she hits a minor roadblock, a sexy roadblock at that! When she learns that her new landlord has big plans for the land she is renting, she is beside herself, she thought she left all the drama back in the city... and if fighting over the land wasn't bad enough, now she has to fight panty-melting advances from him too!
When Mateo Torres waltzes back in to town and discovers that a stubborn beauty has moved onto his land and has big plans for it, he knows he is going to have a fight on his hands. True-Blue Cowboy is the latest installment in the Rocky Mountain Riders series, and it is every bit as amazing as the novels it follows, the characters were perfectly crafted, the story line was absorbing, and Ms. Richardson's wonderful words left an favorable impression!! There was so much to like about this tale, the heroine and hero really brought their a-game, both were stubborn as heck, but both were not immune to the charms of the other, which meant there was a lot of angst... and A LOT of smoldering heat!! With each page I turned the deeper I fell into their delightful little world, where they kept me thoroughly entertained, made me feel right at home, and had me dreading our goodbye... but when the time came I walked away with a happy heart! Highly recommend this one!!

But now he realizes that a city girl has decided to move to the country and try her hand at gardening and farming and has every intention of doing it on his land, which will happen over his dead body. But maybe, just maybe there is a compromise on the horizon...

There was so much to like about this tale, the heroine and hero really brought their a-game, both were stubborn as heck, but both were not immune to the charms of the other, which meant there was a lot of angst... and A LOT of smoldering heat!! With each page I turned the deeper I fell into their delightful little world, where they kept me thoroughly entertained, made me feel right at home, and had me dreading our goodbye... but when the time came I walked away with a happy heart! Highly recommend this one!!

My Review:
This was my first time reading this author. She has an easy to read style and there were some cute aspects to this story.
Everly used to be a lawyer, but now she runs a farm and small diner. But she rents both. She hopes to someday be able to buy it. Before she gets the chance, Mateo buys it as an investment property. He can turn over a good profit by selling the land to a condo developer. Knowing Everly's career history, he assumed that the farm is a passing hobby for her and that soon she'll want to go back to her real life. He couldn't be more wrong.
Of course when two characters are at such extreme odds, you know there's going to be a strong attraction between them. And that's exactly what happened here. They truly like and could mean a lot to one another. The problem is they are at a massive impasse. Everly is living her dream. Mateo needs the money from the investor to ensure his future. Mateo is a rodeo bronc rider. That career doesn't last forever. He has to have a backup plan. He's also trying to get his family out of Mexico, which also takes money.
I especially enjoyed the glimpse into the farm and restaurant that Everly has created. For her, the community means everything and her ability to offer benefits back to the community means everything. I really liked that aspect of the story.

True-Blue Cowboy is the fourth book in the Rocky Mountain Riders series about Raines’s Renegades.
Gunner Raines took Mateo Torres under his wing when Mateo was 16 and taught him the art of bronc riding. As a champion rider, Mateo had been supporting his younger sister in college and sending money to his mother and other two sisters’ in Mexico. Lately he has begun to realize he needed to ensure his financial future outside of the rodeo circuit.

Everly is finally doing something she loves when Mateo comes into her life things seem to be going against everything she has planned. Mateo will stop at nothing to do everything for his family. Can they both do what they love and protect their hearts?
I really enjoyed the books I have read in this series and this book did not disappoint. I really loved the friendships. I loved how a town can rally around each other and support each other. I really enjoyed how sweet, independent Everyly is she is hands down one of my favorite characters in this series. I really also loved reading about Kenna and I hope that she has a story coming one day. This book seemed like it flew and was a real page turner, I was kind of sad to see it end I can't wait for more. If you have never read any book in this series you can't go wrong.

Everly has left the glamorous big city life behind to enjoy the simple things in a small Colorado town. She raises chickens and goats and vegetables and has a diner serving her fresh produce to the towns people who have grown to love her. When she isn't farming the land or cooking in the diner, she does good deeds for people in town. She loves her new life which is fulfilling and very different from her former life as a high power attorney. Life is wonderful until a good looking rodeo champion buys the farm she rents, out from under her. His plan is to partner with developers to turn the entire farm into a resort. Everything changes. She has nowhere to go and no place to grow her crops and animals. Can she change the plans of the tough rodeo cowboy before it's too late? Sweet book full of interesting characters. A great book to read on a lazy afternoon...

I loved getting to know both Everly and Mateo better after catching glimpses of them earlier in the series. They are perfect for each other and the attraction is there, but things get complicated when Mateo buys the farm Everly has been leasing for her restaurant.
All of the book club girls make an appearance, and I like strong their friendship is.
If you're looking for a sweet romance, this is the book for you! You do not need to read the other books in the series first, but I recommend you do because they are all great!

Everly Brooks left her old life in San Francisco when her boyfriend caused her to lose her law license and her job. She started all over again on a small farm and cafe that she leased from an elderly farmer. Unfortunately the farmer sold his land to cowboy Mateo Torres who wanted the large piece of property as an investment to help support his large family. He knew that Everly had a run down farm house that she had turned into a farm to table cafe but assumed she would want to go back to San Francisco to try to reinstate her license. This mistake on his part caused the two of them to see their lives differently but would they find a middle ground? Good read
