Very Irresistible Playboy is a quick, light, and fun fake relationship romance that gives a fresh and OTT take on the inheritance trope. Hallie and Max will take you on a goose chase and a sweet, whirlwind romance. This book has everything I absolutely adore about Ms. Monroe's writing; it's funny, sweet, and has characters you'll love.
Hallie Gage and Max Carlisle first meet at a wedding, with Hallie as one of the photographers and Max one of the guests. While the encounter was brief, albeit a little absurd, it makes an impression on the both of them. But Hallie never expects to see the handsome man again. She's too busy trying to make ends meet and apply for jobs that'll help her reach her dreams of becoming a successful photographer.
Out of desperation, Hallie ends up working in a field wholly unconnected to what she wants. It's not ideal for her, but Hallie is nothing if not determined. She meets Max again, and this time, she'll be working for him as his fake girlfriend.
Max Carlisle of the Carlisle Publishing dynasty needs a date for a family gathering in Palm Beach, Miami to get them off his back and give him the impression he's ready to settle down. He goes to an agency that specializes in exactly that and comes face to face with the tempting woman at the wedding. She's even more tempting now that they're in close proximity, pretending to be in love, and most importantly, pretending to be engaged. When the family gathering turns into a treasure hunt to get their grandfather's full inheritance, Max brings Hallie with him to an adventure of a lifetime.
Max and Hallie work in similar fields—Max is a journalist and Hallie a photographer. Max has his family's legacy to back him up, although he's talented on his own, while Hallie only has her talent to help her climb up the corporate ladder. This is one of the reasons why I think they mash so well. Not only are they attracted to each other and have great chemistry, they understand each other and know each other's motivations. In the short time they've met, they were supportive of each other's careers and personal growth, and I am here for it!
There was never a dull moment in this book, with twists and turns, absurd, hilarious, and steamy moments between the couple, and a fun treasure hunt to entertain you all the way. I've devoured so many fake relationship books that sometimes it seems like it all bleeds into one, but Very Irresistible Playboy definitely stands out. Fake it 'til you make it, am I right?

When M$H go to the Island, the Grandpa decides to play a little game.
Grandpa Carlisle, gives ALL the Carlisle cousins an envelope with a riddle to find a specific thing. And whoever is the one who find the "thing" first, will be declared as the CEO of the company.
Now you might think,What a stupid thing to do!, why cant he use another way? THIS IS CHILDISH!!!.
But hear me out people!!! Those riddles take them to more clues and from there to more clues and then some more clues. What was enjoyable was, Hailey was SO damn smart that she was able to solve the puzzle before anybody ever could, Max only did 20% of the work, rest all was done by Hailey, THAT'S why i am saying that the h of this series are REALLY something.
And it was NOT A STUPID IDEA TO USE THE PUZZLES TO DECIDE WHO WILL BE THE CEO TO THE COMPANY
Why wasn't it? That you'll have to find after reading the story. Because damn! Grandpa was a REALLY smart man!
The pace of the story, the chemistry between both H$M, the sexy times.....Oooooooh!!!! It was.........off the charts!!!!
Max and Hailey are the BEST couple in this series because they are GREAT AS A TEAM, they are SO WELL CORDINATED.
Hailey's selflessness impressed me so much. And Max was also a romantic at heart, i wasnt expecting that because i had this preconceived notion that he was careless and all because of his wealthy lifestyle.
Now, according to my experience, THIS book and 2nd book(featuring Jules) and the one with Olivia(sorry dont remember which one it was) in the series are THE ONLY interesting books.
Rest all were very......not engaging. They all had unlikable h.
One thing that u shud kno is, in this series, the H are all more or less same, what makes these series interesting are the hs.
They are REALLY something man!!
And this is the ONLY book in the series that i'll give 5 stars , because not only it was FUNNY AS HELL, it was also, mind blowing.

The beginning of the book was good but if I want to be honest it didn't catch me that much but when the antics of the storyline get started I was hooked. It was a little predictable but it's a funny, fast and easy read.

This book started out plenty strong, and then it just...fell apart. There was no characterization and it got really boring.

3.5 scavenger hunt stars!
I picked up this book to fulfill "a title starting with the letter V" in an Book Challenge. I have to be honest here, I really wasn't expecting much, but ended up pleasantly surprised!
Hallie is trying her best to make it on her own as a professional photographer and one of the main things holding her back (as with many of us) is finances. An opportunity to jump start her business lands in her lap. The only catch is that she must act as Max's fiancée for a family gathering celebrating his grandfather's birthday.
I loved these two together! The banter was hilarious and kept me thoroughly entertained. The story line was equally entertaining as it set the family against each other in a scavenger hunt of epic proportions with the winner gaining the family empire! The highjinx that ensued was quirky and fun.
This was my first book by Lila Monroe and I will definitely be reading more from her in the future.

Hallie has dreams of having her own photography studio where she can support herself financially with a portfolio of clients who believe in her talent. First step to get there is to find a job as a photography assistant but that is proving to be more difficult than she imagined. After getting her hopes up for a dream position at Carlisle Publishing, she is devastated when she realises she is being overlooked yet again.
Hallie is desperate, she has no money to pay her rent and had an unfortunate dip in a pond with her only camera at the last job she worked on. The only silver lining about that day was kissing a handsome stranger at the event, something she has never done before.
After a chance encounter with a woman who offers to buy her donuts to cheer her up, Hallie finds herself agreeing to be employed by her as an escort. Now, I'm making this sound really dodgy but it is simply being on the arm of single wealthy men as their date for events and occasions where they require a partner.
This is how she ends up meeting her new potential job/boss for dinner that evening. Of course, it's not enough that he is he is millionaire bachelor Max Carlisle, he is also the handsome stranger she kissed only days ago. The sizzle she felt from that kiss still lingers on her lips so she finds herself agreeing to be his pretend girlfriend for a week at his family gathering.
You know where this is going to go right? The whole 'pretending' thing changes gears pretty quickly when Hallie and Max are in such close proximity to each other. He is gorgeous, she is beautiful and there is a time limit on this arrangement right so why not have some fun together. Naked.
Max has never met someone like Hallie before, most women he dates are superficial, self centered and only want to be with him for his status and wealth. Hallie is not motivated by money, she has dreams to make it big on her own. Max has enjoyed getting to know her and has never felt more comfortable with anyone before, being with her is effortless.
When Max's grandfather makes a announcement that could potentially change the future of Carlisle Publishing it brings out the worse in his family. Hallie finds herself throw into the bizarre dynamics of these crazy people and her time with Max takes an unexpected turn. The end of this arrangement cannot come soon enough, she is not meant for his world, it's just too overwhelming.
As Max's world begins to implode around them, Hallie is almost relieved to be done with it. Almost.
This is another fun and light read from Lila Monroe, she has a knack for writing great rom coms that have fantastic banter between the main characters and plenty of sizzle too.

VIP (Very Irresistible Playboy) by Lila Monroe is the first in a brand new romantic comedy series aptly titled Billionaire Bachelors. I’ve grown to absolute ADORE Ms. Monroe’s writing style and creative character development. It’s smart. It’s precise. It’s sexy. VIP is laced with so much humor that it had me in absolute stitches on more than one occasion. Romantic Comedy is Lila’s specialty and she proves it over and over again with each new release, with each new character, and with each new storyline.
I loved Hallie’s quick wit and spunk! I loved Max’s confidence and flirtatious ways! Together, these two couldn’t have been more different, but they clicked together like each other’s missing puzzle pieces when it counted. You could say that these two didn’t have the most normal first meet up, and I’m glad to say that it only went downhill from there. Their true adventure started when their lips first connected, and from then on, hilarity and sexy escapades ensued.

If you weren’t laughing hysterically over their banter, you were swooning hard over their blossoming adoration for one another. It was equal parts comedic, sexy, and sweet, and it was just a PURE DELIGHTFUL JOURNEY to have ventured. I’m very excited to see where this series goes. In VIP we meet the next two suckers that will star in HOT DADDY, the next book in the series, with an expected release in April of this year. Romantic Comedy fans will FALL IN LOVE with Max and Hallie!

I liked the ideas and the storyline of this one, particularly the antics that amounted because of Franklin.
I didn't connect with characters personally, but I liked the plot and liked the characters. It was interesting how things played out, not everything surprised me, but some parts of the story definitely did.
Max and Hallie worked well together in more ways when than one and the story flowed nicely as well. There was only a little angst in this one and things concluded really well. There’s also a nice opening for the next book in the series, which I will be curious to read.
Overall a fast and easy read. Would recommend.

4 It's Real CROWNS
The first book in the Billionaire Bachelor series is entertaining in all of it romantic comedy glory. With a cast of characters to make you laugh, a heroine and hero with great chemistry, and a plot that isn't what one expects, readers will become immersed in this brand new world.
Max and Hallie's chemistry is what drives this book. Their banter is on point, and when they touch, it is electric. Even seperately, they are great characters, although there isn't much unique about them. Max is the billionaire is the man who doesn't want to settle down, shirks responsibility of running the company, and doesn't have any interest in the antics of his family. Hallie is quirky and not as successful as she wishes based on how long she has been out school. She does, however, have an energy that draws Max as well as the reader into the story. The special part is when they are together. That is when the magic happens.
This story wasn't really what I expected. The surprise from the grandfather and the ensuing chase that occurs provide loads of humor and opportunities for these two to fall for each other. They don't dive too far into each other's personalities, learning more through their actions, so there relationship for the most part is superficial. It is, however, a rom-com, so the in-depth exploration of characterization is not expected. The conflict is one we would expect, especially based on the characters of the story, and the resolution is satisfying, an HEA that is perfect for both characters with the perfect amount of groveling.
Very Irresistible Playboy is a fun start to this new series. Easy, fun, and sexy, VIP is an absolute delight to read.

The first book in the Billionaire Bachelor series is entertaining in all of it romantic comedy glory. With a cast of characters to make you laugh, a heroine and hero with great chemistry, and a plot that isn't what one expects, readers will become immersed in this brand new world.
Max and Hallie's chemistry is what drives this book. Their banter is on point, and when they touch, it is electric. Even seperately, they are great characters, although there isn't much unique about them. Max is the billionaire is the man who doesn't want to settle down, shirks responsibility of running the company, and doesn't have any interest in the antics of his family. Hallie is quirky and not as successful as she wishes based on how long she has been out school. She does, however, have an energy that draws Max as well as the reader into the story. The special part is when they are together. That is when the magic happens.
This story wasn't really what I expected. The surprise from the grandfather and the ensuing chase that occurs provide loads of humor and opportunities for these two to fall for each other. They don't dive too far into each other's personalities, learning more through their actions, so there relationship for the most part is superficial. It is, however, a rom-com, so the in-depth exploration of characterization is not expected. The conflict is one we would expect, especially based on the characters of the story, and the resolution is satisfying, an HEA that is perfect for both characters with the perfect amount of groveling.
Very Irresistible Playboy is a fun start to this new series. Easy, fun, and sexy, VIP is an absolute delight to read.

I loved this story.
The storyline was so engaging and the writing so fluid I've finished it too quicly and now I'm regretting it because I have to wait until April to read the second book in this series.
Hallie and Max journey was adveturous,hot and full of discoveries and feelings.

I've been looking forward to Very Irresistible Playboy since getting a sneak peek of it at the end of Christmas with the Billionaire (where we meet Hallie's big brother) and I was far from disappointed now that it's finally here! Max and Hallie story has the humor, tension, and sexiness that I've come to expect from Lila Monroe in spades. It was more of a slow burn than some of the other books I've read by her, but that makes sense considering that Max and Hallie's relationship starts out as more of a business relationship as opposed to something more common. Between the shenanigans inherent with fake relationship tropes (one of my faves), the extravagant scavenger hunt, and Max's insufferable family - Very Irresistible Player was a total win in my book. I'm looking forward to Hot Daddy and seeing how Max's friend Cal fairs with The Agency! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

I have to say, this one took me by surprise. The title of the series and the book, and the cover, I was counting on a quick "harlequin style" romance book.
But as they say, never judge a book by its cover, and this end up being a really sweet and heartwarming romance. The main characters were great and I love how their relationship progressed and how hilarious they were at times. Definitely give this one a try if you're looking for a solid romance story.

I just love a Lila Monroe book and this one certainly didn't disappoint.
Max meets Hallie at a wedding where she is working as a photographer's assistant. She used to be the PA to Jack Callahan (Perfect Match) and knows how to handle a billionaire playboy. She quit her job as Jack's PA to get back to her love of photography. She gets a call to interview at Carlisle Publishing and pretty much gets treated like dirt from the editor who is just appeasing her because she has already pretty much given the job to someone else.
Hallie meets Olivia in the elevator. Olivia own The Agency. Now, you have to sign an NDA before I can tell you what Olivia does for a living. But, long story short, Hallie is offered $50g to be the fake girlfriend of a billionaire for one week. And who does she meet up with? You guessed it.
This book will take you on a scavenger hunt of the best kind. TWICE! I love a dual POV book and I also love the humor.

Okay, so here's the thing with these kind of books - you don't remember them the next day, sometimes you don't remember them a few hours after you finished them.
I'm sorry if I'm harsh but I'm just tired of reading the same book with a slightly different plot. I don't even know why I decided to read it in the first place.
The start gave me an awkward feeling, probably because the main characters were average, the dialogue - flat and it wasn't good at all. I confess I've skipped a lot and still didn't miss anything.
It's great that this book has a very good rating on GR, but I can't understand why.

I guess I’m kinda over the CEO playboy falling in Love trope. For this month itself I’ve read too many of these so this one didn’t really stand out among others. It was cute but since two books before this I read the whole escort turned true love story too. Once again, not utterly impressed. Somewhere among the reviews I saw someone had compared Ms Monroe to Penny Reid but I’ve got to say, Penny Reid’s actually funnier. Despite that this was an enjoyable read. Not too shabby, but like I mentioned before, not too memorable either. It falls somewhat in the middle in between 2.5-3 stars.

Uhm... Okay... I'm just gonna shake my head at myself for a moment here.
I enjoyed this so much that I managed to finish it in six hours. Jeesh! I'm not generally into romantic novels, but this one had me laugh out loud so many times that my dogs just stared at me as if I really should be living in a place with a green roof.
There were times where the writing was not very good, but the story, the wit, the fun! It all made up for the occasional spelling mistake and the weird sentences.
Overall, I really really enjoyed it!

The blurb is below average. It sounds repetitive and won't make sense until you've read the book. It also doesn't do justice to how good the story is. But the attractive cover and title pull you in.
I liked Max, Hallie, and their meeting. Max's grand gesture at the end would've had me crying if I were Hallie. It was heartfelt! I'm all for a sexy man calling himself a teddy bear! That scene made me laugh out loud. Their treasure hunt is so much fun to read! It refreshed me while I was sleepy at work.
It's a highly unrealistic yet dreamy tale, and that's what fiction is about. I loved going on this journey with them. I wish I were Hallie!

I liked the storyline but thought the conflict and subsequent apology was weak. I was “feeling” the relationship up to that point but I never regained the feel after the break up.

A free kindle book for sure. Not terrible but not earth shattering. Got me out of a reading slump so must be okay. A little spice but for sure could tell what was going to happen.
