You have to get passed the first book- at least I did, but after that, it's entertaining if you enjoy books in the fantasy genre. I found myself rolling my eyes a couple of times at the protagonist- but other than that it's a good read. Court of Thrones and Roses by Sarah J. Mass is a lot better- especially since the protagonist isn't in her teens.
