Some days, he even listens to them. He’s classified as a Seraph. He is classified as a Necrodemian (demon executioner), which means he can kill demons without consequence so long as he follows certain protocols.

I received a copy of Dark Bites over the weekend. I decided to fill in the gaps of the Hunter Legend series this evening by reading the shorts I haven't read yet. This is the second story in the Hunter Legend series and only 18 pages. Considering I haven't seen any reference to any of these characters in the dozen books I've read so far, it leaves more questions than answers and wasn't nearly as entertaining as the other shorts or novels.
It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great either.

This short makes no sense, waaaaay too short and far too many references to Transformers, anime, movies, etc. You can't even get a feel for the story or a liking for the character or completely understand what's going on with him before the story is over. Truly disappointing considering how amazing Sherrilyn's writing is and how much I truly love her different book series.

This brief origin story about Zeke, a down and out complaints line manager who is chosen by the angels to be an "avenger" is funny and, for Kenyon, surprisingly not romantic or hot. It's a fun read though , as an ordinary guy has his first exposure to the "other" world.
Worth the read, and containing characters an avid menyon is almost certain to get to know a lot more about in a later volume.

Read this in her Dark Bites Anthology. An interesting introduction to the Hellchasers series and Zeke's story. I've never really paid much attention to the Hellchaser books before outside of the Dark Hunter series, but I am interested to read them as their own unit.

This is a bit different than the normal dark hunter books and I wish we could get to see a bit more of this side of things. But I still enjoyed this little look into the world and enjoyed this small addition to the story.
