Up is down and black is white and the sex isn't happening—neither is the crime. WHAT IS THIS BOOK EVEN? After the heartbreaking, albeit totally unsurprising, finale of FOURGY!, our leads find themselves in the arms of others while the fate of the whole universe hangs in the balance...ish!
"How he got started in comics: In 1983, when Fraction was 7 years old and growing up in Kansas City, Mo., he became fascinated by the U.S. invasion of Grenada and created his own newspaper to explain the event. "I've always been story-driven, telling stories with pictures and words," he said.
Education and first job: Fraction never graduated from college. He stopped half a semester short of an art degree at Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri in 1998 to take a job as a Web designer and managing editor of a magazine about Internet culture.
"My mother was not happy about that," he said.
But that gig led Fraction and his co-workers to split off and launch MK12, a boutique graphic design and production firm in Kansas City that created the opening credits for the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace."
Big break: While writing and directing live-action shoots at MK12, Fraction spent his spare time writing comics and pitching his books each year to publishers at Comic-Con. Two books sold: "The Last of the Independents," published in 2003 by AiT/Planet Lar, and "Casanova," published in 2006 by Image Comics.
Fraction traveled extensively on commercial shoots. Then his wife got pregnant. So Fraction did what any rational man in his position would do -- he quit his job at MK12 to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time comic book writer.
Say what? "It was terrifying," said Fraction, who now lives in Portland, Ore. "I was married. We had a house. We had a baby coming. And I just quit my job."
Marvel hired Fraction in June 2006, thanks largely to the success of his other two comics. "I got very lucky," he half-joked. "If it hadn't worked out, I would have had to move back in with my parents.
Breaking up is hard to do. Moving on is hard to do. But what if you and your former partner used to have super bomb sex (and literally magical powers that went hand in hand with bank robbing) and you've moved on to more boring mediocre non-magical sex? Let's just say it's complicated and I look forward to see what happens next with this trainwreck.

Previously I've read the first three collection volumes of the Sex Criminals. And while the series started off really well, by the end of the third volume I had pretty much lost interest in read anymore of the series. But then I was in a comic book store with nothing else to do but read a few issues of whatever, so I picked up this issue and read it.
This issue will be going into the fifth volume, and I haven't read the fourth, so I wasn't entirely sure what was going on but it was interesting. In fact, it was interesting enough to make me want to go back and catch up with the rest of the series.
I gave it three stars because it still wasn't quite as funny as the first volume was, but I do understand that the comic as a whole seems to shifting away from the comedic. That's part of the reason I ended up loosing interest previously, but maybe the story has picked up. We'll see.
My god this book is amazing. The collected volumes are great but I love approaching a story like sex criminals piece by piece. They’re are just so many brilliant little Easter eggs buried along the way.
Probably one of - if not the funniest - issue of Sex Criminals or any other comics for that matter. The scene where Suzie’s mother and her friends are exploring their ‘Deltas of Venus’ is maybe the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen in comics.
Chip and Matt are just perfect together. Yes, Sex Criminals is a raunchy portrayal of sex and sexual relationships unlike any other. At its core however, this is a very real and honest book. These themes hit incredibly close to home for me and anyone who’s gone through the pains of being both in and out of love with someone.
Jon and Suzanne are both dealing with the breakup in their own way. They're lying to themselves when they say everything's fine, cause it's not. No one's fine and everyone's struggling even though they have new lovers etc. It's the lie we all tell ourselves that everything's fine when in fact, it's not.
I love how Cumworld is now an Apple store. Jon's new situation seems... interesting. Suzie's is very interesting, the stuff with her mom and their house is crazy. The art gallery stuff made me laugh, for sure. Jon and Suzie's meetup at the party was so very them, gives me hope for these crazy kids.
So I like how both of them wear Freddie's outfit, and neither of their new partners knew what the hell it was! But as much as that amused me... seriously the cat farting.....
