The long-awaited return of the most beloved piece of the SEX CRIMINALS phenomenon that took the comics world by storm: the eight-panel grid! Wait, what do you mean you didn't even notice it was gone? How dare you!
"How he got started in comics: In 1983, when Fraction was 7 years old and growing up in Kansas City, Mo., he became fascinated by the U.S. invasion of Grenada and created his own newspaper to explain the event. "I've always been story-driven, telling stories with pictures and words," he said.
Education and first job: Fraction never graduated from college. He stopped half a semester short of an art degree at Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri in 1998 to take a job as a Web designer and managing editor of a magazine about Internet culture.
"My mother was not happy about that," he said.
But that gig led Fraction and his co-workers to split off and launch MK12, a boutique graphic design and production firm in Kansas City that created the opening credits for the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace."
Big break: While writing and directing live-action shoots at MK12, Fraction spent his spare time writing comics and pitching his books each year to publishers at Comic-Con. Two books sold: "The Last of the Independents," published in 2003 by AiT/Planet Lar, and "Casanova," published in 2006 by Image Comics.
Fraction traveled extensively on commercial shoots. Then his wife got pregnant. So Fraction did what any rational man in his position would do -- he quit his job at MK12 to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time comic book writer.
Say what? "It was terrifying," said Fraction, who now lives in Portland, Ore. "I was married. We had a house. We had a baby coming. And I just quit my job."
Marvel hired Fraction in June 2006, thanks largely to the success of his other two comics. "I got very lucky," he half-joked. "If it hadn't worked out, I would have had to move back in with my parents.
So Dewey and the Sex Police Bus Driver hooked up, I don't think I saw that one coming. Suze has apparently figured out that Badal can travel through time and was using his powers to take advantage if the Stock Market, hence why he's so rich. Polly and Jon broke up but it's ok cause that means he and Suze will hopefully get back together. And Ana and Doc don't seem to be together anymore but it appeared as if their break was amicable, based on the fact that they're on a roller skating date at the end of the issue and Doc says he's invited everyone, and he means everyone, enter super surprise guest #1. I'm interested to see where this all goes from here.
A bit of a slower persisting pace as we edge toward the climax...
Once again, Jon and Suzie have proven that despite their best efforts, they can’t stay apart from one another. How will the news of Suzie’s latest discovery affect their dynamic? Will it be back to bank robbing once again?
I couldn’t ask for more. Time and again, Chip and Matt have proven that they have the best chemistry (sexual and platonic) of any creative team in the biz.
What does this book have that I can’t say I was missing from my life...? The visual of two fat, ugly men making out in public. A mother who’s sex machine exploded and caught fire, burning down her family’s house. Wow! And Jon finally gets a text from Suzie about meet up for coffee and he doesn’t reply!?!?! What the hell Jon!?
The band begins to come together fully. The clippy parody was hilarious. The beginning with Starry Night was beautiful and of course reminded me of myself (touch the impasto!!!!) I love the roller rink setting, that's wonderful.
