My enemies wish they had never met me, and women wish they could forget me.

I'm busy carving a name for myself in the mafia underworld, and I don't have time for the women who chase after me and wanna tie me down. They can get in line for the wildest f*ck of their lives and then they can get lost.

I trusted the Sanatores and they ran their mouths. Six years in jail was a long time to plan my revenge, and now nobody will stop me from getting the payback I deserve. Not the bastards who are out to kill me, not the women who want to find out if the rumors about the size of my... ego are true. Nobody.

Until I set eyes on her.

Callie’s running from her filthy-rich, abusive, ex fiancé, and he’s not letting her go without a fight. She wants a new life and the last thing she needs is me in it, but I’ve never let that stop me before.

I shouldn’t have touched her. I knew a woman like her would cause me trouble. But I couldn’t resist.

One taste and I’m addicted.

Her ex wants to get her back and my enemies want to use her to hurt me. F**k that.

Anyone who wants to come between us better bring a body bag.

She’s MINE.

This is a standalone, full-length mafia romance with a filthy-mouthed, possessive bad boy. Happily ever after guaranteed.

USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.

3.5*

If I'm being totally honest I didn't intend to read this book because while I'd enjoyed 'His' the h (Aubriella) suffered a few stupid moments and I find I'm losing all patience for the TSTL females that seem to be plaguing so many romance books these days and therefore I decided I'd skip 'Mine' turning down the ARC I'd been offered. But then I received an email about 'Dark' and it sounded interesting and I decided to give it a try which meant reading 'Mine' first to make sure I hadn't missed anything important and so I picked it up from KU.
I enjoyed this more than 'His' mainly I suppose because Callie was a much better character for me than Aubriella. While she's made mistakes (but then who hasn't?) namely Greg, she's intelligent and practical and I really liked her.
Damian is a man looking for revenge. Having served seven years in prison for racketeering he's after the people that put him there, the Sanatores and nothing will stop him, or will it?
Could Callie make him realise life offers more than revenge and an early death.
This is an entertaining read although I have to admit I assumed there'd be an alternative reason for Greg's obsession with Callie, I mean seriously if she's that important to him why cheat on her?
There's several mistakes like Sweeden (Sweden) and it could definitely do with editing but it's a nice bit of sexy escapism.

Callie Beccaccio thought that the worst thing in the world was finding her fiance cheating on her in their home. Callie runs to her high school best friend Aubriella Citrione. Aubriella offers her home as safe haven for Callie when her family goes on vacation. Callie can't get the mystery guy out of her head. Vince Citrione knows that his brother Damian will offer Callie a job as bartender at his restaurant The Spot. Damian Citrione has only thought about revenge and justice against those that betrayed him three years ago. Damian has a plan and nothing will stop him from executing it fully. Only problem is Damian spies a beauty that turns his head and makes his heart race. When Damian gets to know Callie he'll do whatever it takes to make his. Does Callie want Damian the same way? Will Damian get his vengeance? Your answers await you in Mine.

This sequel lived up to the first book and thensome. I loved the differences in Citrione Brothers! This story and characters were more gritty, naughty, real, raw, compelling, complex, and brave. I can't wait for the next installment in this series. Until then Happy Reading!

Again..shot it out of the park..

Penelope Bloom...I'm really starting to love ya Girl!! Your books are AWESOME!! - Not so hard Core Violent you Wanna Gag..Not to suspenseful your tapping your fingers either. So proud to be one of your readers watching you grow from the beginning. This story like your first was just the right amount of passion. Love, Suspense, intrigue, with that dash of antagonism. It was certainly NEVER BORING...MORE STORIES SOON PLEASE!!!!

A mafia romance with so many twists and turns that you don't see coming, makes this book an exceptional read:) I quite literally could not put it down. Damian Citrione has been in prison for 7 years for trusting the wrong people and he now seeks revenge on those who wronged him. Callie is trying to get away from her cheating ex-fiancé as he keeps trying to win her back. Damian and Callie get together and it's explosive, but they have a few ups and downs but eventually their romance prevails

Deranged

After reading "Punished" and "His", this book reflects improvements in the authors writing skills. However, I find her work disjointed and too often convenient. The choices she makes as an author are to my tastes. In each of the aforementioned stories as well as this one her heroines having a parent that are abusive to them. This theme doesn't endear her characters to me. However in this tale, it finally served has insight into her heroine's development rather than her usual sub-plot. Kudos.

Spoiler Alert
Callie was entrusted with house sitting for high-school friend (side eye). A mafia boss (Vincent) allowed this to happen without any precaution in place. To repay her friend, she has a woman she has known a week into the home. She later permits Damien's goons to house sit in her stead without a dialogue with friend (side eye). Vincent (mafia boss) didn't know what was going on with his home (side eye). Why did the author make the decision to have her house sit Vincent's home? This decision detracted from the story. Too many people knocked on that door.

The whole pregnancy didn't make sense. Sex outside during a storm with pouring rain. Just how much pre-cum fluid entered her body since he withdrew before he ejaculated? The author could have let them have sex more than once to the pregnancy more believable.

"Family should always be together". Why would Damien make so many moves against other mafia families without having a dialogue with Vincent? Again why was there no response from Vincent (mafia boss) in response to Damien's moves? On vacation or out of the country, it's hard to believe that he was not informed by others about such major moves regarding his rivals and biological brother.

I spent too many tortuous moments thinking that this was the longest 187-page read ever. That is until, the story finally got interesting once Callie was taken. However, it wasn't enough to convert me into a fan or to motivate me to recommend this tale to others.

AAWWWW.... QUICK SAFE HOT LOVE STORY😊😊 I love this book and even at the beginning i was like omg this book will be nice! And it did 😍😍😍😍

THE HERO IS A MOB something like that and HE MEETS THE HEROINE in a odd situation but for me thats just a sweet destiny for them😋😋 THE HEROINE AS WELL was actually recovering from her past with her ex and meet the hero... it was hot lol

‼️THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE

‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT 🥺
IMMEDIATELY after the hero saw her he wants her soooooo bad and very determined to have her 🥺 THE HEROINE is like that too to the hero but because at the time she was dealing with her personal life, she just thought it was crazy to think that way. But deep down she knows the hero was something...

‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO!
Even before they were officially dating....

‼️THE HERO ALWAYS SAYS YOU ARE MINE.

Even at first when he first saw her! “The girl from the gas station. I don’t even bother to wonder what she’s doing here. ALL I KNOW SHE’S MINE NOW. I FEEL A PREDATORY SMILE SPREAD OVER MY LIPS.”

🥺🥺

‼️THEIR CONNECTION OMG.... Its so hot lol

‼️NO CHEATING

‼️THE HERO EVEN THOUGH HE CAN BE COLD AND MOB SOMETHING LIKE THAT😆 He always says the right words to the heroine and being sweet to her. He is a smart man! He is really honest to the heroine about his feelings towards her even at first before they were dating!

“I CAME HERE BECAUSE FROM THE MOMENT I SAW YOU, I KNEW I NEEDED TO HAVE YOU. I’ve seen beautiful women before and wanted them, but NO ONE HAS EVER STUCK IN MY HEAD LIKE YOU. I HAVEN’T STOPPED THINKING ABOUT YOU.”

🥺🥺

‼️THE HEROINE IS SASSY ALRIGHT LOL

‼️IT HAS SEPARATION... FIRST the hero thought it would be best to separate because things were getting dangerous for them BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR 3 days i think and he comes back and apologize... SECOND IS WHEN HE HAS TO GO somewhere for the crime that he did and it was only for few weeks. DURING THIS TIME BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL AND DIDN’T GO OR TOUCH ANYONE ELSE!!!

‼️HOT SMUT SCENES

‼️NO DRAMA WITH OW. DRAMA ONLY WITH OM. The om was her ex and he was not very nice. He was actually very determined as well to the heroine and wants her back sooo bad... he tries all the time. OBVIOUSLY THE HEROINE SAID NO BECAUSE THE OM cheated on her and she just so over it. He causes some drama between the hero and the heroine and in the end as well. BUT IT WAS NOT TOO ANNOYING. OTHER DRAMA is about the hero’s crimes enemy something like that AND IT WAS NOT TOO MUCH...

‼️THE HERO AND HEROINE ONLY PUSH EACH OTHER AWAY ONE TIME. One time.

‼️BOTH HAVE BEEN CELIBATE i think. The hero never mention his past like that to the heroine. But the heroine tells him about the om and they actually didn’t talked if both of them are clean. Because the first time they did it, they were not being safe lol

‼️HAPPY ENDING! 5 years later and both are married and have kids together (twins and a girl) and the hero quit the mob and they happily married ❤️

Good mafia romance with great Kindle audio

I enjoy mafia romance every now and then as a bit guilty pleasure. I never expect much realism with these books but they’re definitely a fun escape from reality. After all, who doesn’t like the idea of a super hot bad boy who’s only good for you?
So far in book one and two, it’s been enjoyable to watch the big bad Citrione men become tamed by their women. As a romantic at heart I thoroughly enjoy the worship-style dialogue during the (many) moments where the men voice their thoughts and feelings about the women who have stolen their hearts. Though the guys could have anyone they want for a night, there’s something alluring about watching their walls crumble and fall when they discover “the one.”
When comparing books one and two, there are some similarities and differences. While mafia stories can become redundant after a while, I think the author put in the effort to distinguish Vince Citrione from Damien Citrione. They have different goals and back stories that give them strong, distinguishable voices. As for the female leads, they tend to read more similar to me, but not necessarily in a bad way. They’re strong-willed, career-oriented women who want the best for their guys. I do wish for more variety between their personalities, but seeing as they’re close friends, I think it makes sense for them to share certain qualities.
The most enjoyable part of these books has been the dialogue. It’s very smooth and witty. The Citrione brothers, in particular, are constantly entertaining with their internal and external dialogue. Their masculinity and way of talking have this effortless realness to it. It’s such a small thing, but so important. It’s something that sets this series apart from some other mafia romances I’ve read.
More so, the audio feature in the Kindle app is excellent for this series. The male narrater has an authentic tone and accent that brings this story to life. It’s really well done, and I have enjoyed each chapter he narrates. I would strongly recommend listening to the Kindle audio!

I loved this story!! Damien is the overbearing rude talks with fists bad boy who only knows blood and revenge. Then you have Callie this good girl who was cheated on by her now controlling ex fiance, she has to start over from scratch. Running to her friend for help and a place to stay her friends husband gets her a job at Damien's Bar, The attraction is immediate bad things follow them both making for a turbulent relationship.
Ok.. phew… I loved Damien and Callie's story! His P.O.V humor and his crude yet almost enduring ways made me love him, Callie she's been controlled cheated and doesn't feel very worthy she can be bawling her eyes out one minute standing up to dangerous men with guns the next! You put them together they are this smart sexy funny pair! Can we talk for just a minute about some of the eh em hot scenes in this book.. I mean the one during the Thunderstorm?! Not gonna lie I looked up the forecast for my area after reading that one..* fans face*
On top of the vast amount of hotness you've got this sort of emotional angst going on. Couple times I found myself gripping my husband's knee during some intense parts! Then you couple that with some sweet romance an excellent storyline with a killer HEA You have a great bad boy read that I certainly couldn't put down!

Possessive, Sexy, Entertaining

I adore the Citrione family and this second book is entertaining, sexy, possessive, and full on Alpha male who will stop at nothing to claim his woman!

Damian Citrione is a the epitome bad boy! He’s dangerous, feisty, controlling, and bent on revenge for the men who did him wrong and got him sent to prison. He’s got a loyal crew but their plans are having trouble coming together and he’s now under fire! What he never expected was running into Callie at one of their jobs and falling hard for her. His desire for her was off the charts and he knew she had to be his!

Callie is having a crappy day and now she’s trying to figure out what to do next! She never expected the bad boy covered in tattoos to be her new boss and her friends brother-in-law! Now their in close proximity of each other almost daily and she’s not sure she can trust him even if she tries!

You will devour their story and love every steamy, sexy, and oh so delicious moments leading to their HEA. Happy Reading!!

Left a little potential on the table

I am a fan of this author but I was slightly on the fence regarding this book. I think a little of this book’s potential was left on the table. First, edits and proof errors - that bugs me when I pay for a book and second there were too many times that I was left wondering what was going on. I like a book with suspense and mystery but this was more “did I miss a chapter?” I found myself back reading. Things like the H is drugged and yet we never really find out what happened to her - how did she get back home to wake up in bed? It felt like the author forgot where she left off. Too many questions not answered to be a 4 star read in my opinion as instead of feeling mystified or on the edge of my seat, I was just frustrated and irritated. I felt like the author did t take as. I have care and attention with this book as the last.

Part of the Citrione Crime Family series this is a confusing read until you figure how the story is written and then it gets to be a book you do not want to put down. Callie Beccaccio goes into a gas station to buy brownies which is her go to food when she is stressed and is she ever !She just caught her fiancé with another woman, she broke off the engagement, and went to her friend Aubriella’s, to house sit for her and her husband Vince. Vince gets her a job with his brother Damian’s restaurant as a bartender but all is not as it seems. Damian has gotten out of prison and wants revenge against the people who set him up and Callie’s ex Greg is not going to leave her alone. What happens ? I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Mine is the second book of the Citrione Crime Family series. I enjoyed this steamy romance even though I didn't engage with the story as deeply as I did book one, His, which I loved. I couldn't take seriously Damian's attempts to become the Don of his own crime family because it was so far-fetched. Not to mention, how the heck many crime families can co-exist in one town? There are four in this story including the barely mentioned Citrione family which Damian's brother Vince heads up. However, I liked the characters and I loved the connection between Damian and Callie and the way he was so willing to change his ways for her. I think Penelope Bloom is a great writer and I can't wait to read more.

Really this is like a 3.5

This is a super fast paced book. It took very little time to finish. Rough criminal family minded man sees a girl at a gas station. She shows up at his restaurant later. He decides he’s got to have her.

Woman shows up on her estranged friend’s doorstep to house sit while the friend and her family are on vacation. The husband helps hook her up with a job at his brother’s restaurant as long as he agrees to leave her out of the “family” business. She’s running from her cheating finance and attempting to uproot her life and do something different.

It was good enough to pass some time. I probably won’t read it again and I won’t trip over myself to recommend it to someone. It’s in between. I hope you enjoy it! It may be someone else’s #1 book!

The plot was entertaining.

I wanted to give five stars, but the spicy scenes. Gosh, there was no sizzle, no work up. They were painful to read. (And not in a good way). Just when I thought Callie was becoming a strong person, bam. Disappointment. I don’t have any triggers but the character Callie was becoming one. I loved the first book. So much I couldn’t wait for the second. Now I don’t really want to read the third. The plot was good though. I think it would have been better if the female character was stronger. I yearn for a day when they make a female character that is strong willed. Who knows what she wants and doesn’t settle for less. And doesn’t cave to boring advances.

So all the female leads are dumb

After the dumb decisions of the first book, I thought I would give the second book another go, but it seems like all the female leads are just dumb. If a guy gets out of a car, getting a gun to go talk to some guys, the only reason to get out of the car too is to run away, not ask him what's going on. Maybe if she wasn't a normal person it would make sense to insert herself into the situation, but if she's supposed to be some jane smith type character, she wouldn't follow after a guy with a gun unless she was completely stupid. Ruined the whole story. Not even gonna bother with anymore of the series.

I loved this story and the writing is first class!

Dominant, sexy, alpha male in the mafia is gobsmacked by a stunning, innocent head turner. The ex-boyfriend douche bag keeps going after her believing his money and corrupt influence will return his girl back to his arms, but certainly no happily ever after could end that way. The story was well written and fun to read all while being steamy and interesting from start to finish! Kudos. I recommend this book and know you will love it too!

If you want a mafia romance that isn't very dark, I'd say this is a good one for you. I listened to the series out of order, starting with this one, lol, but that didn't hurt my enjoyment at all, it's enough of a standalone and the bit you get of the other couple from the first book isn't really super relevant to the overall plot. I listened to the book on Audible through Kindle Unlimited, the audiobook was enjoyable enough, I do think I'll get around to listening to the other books from the series based off of this.

I don't always read books in order if they are a standalone. I have found that some of them suck or aren't for me and I don't want to miss a good book because it was second in a series and the first was a flop. With that being said I liked this one. I enjoyed the tenacity of the h and sheer will for the H. He was willing to come to terms with the situations he was experiencing and work hard to keep the h in his life.

Just Wow

So, after the first book (Vince's story) I was sure this 2nd book's man was going to pale in comparison. And I was incorrect. Damian is even better than Vince.

I really enjoyed the way this story wrapped around itself and the HEA they were able to accomplish.

A great 2nd book! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Please read this series in order to get the most from this story.

This is a Mafia story. Damian Citrione is out of prison and planning his revenge when he sees Callie in a gas station. They both are very aware of each other, but they go their separate ways that is until Damian walks into his restaurant the Spot and notices the new bartender is Callie. The story is interesting I personally was annoyed by the heroine's in decisions. This put a damper for me but still a good series.

Great series

I have been enjoying this series! Callie and Damian make a cute couple. Callie's ex-fiance tries to get her back in all the wrong ways, but Callie only wants Damian. When she finds out she's pregnant, she isn't sure who's it could be but she hopes it's Damian's. Callie's ex tries to mess with Damian's head that he will never be a good father. Than her ex starts to mess with their lives. How far will it go? Definitely a series I would recommend

Didn’t quite finish it. Made it to 70% just because it was the audiobook I had available at the time and it did hold my interest enough to continue (that’s why 2 stars), but I just wasn’t captivated enough to care to finish it or worry about how it might end.

Very predictable, good smut scenes but not as many as you’d expect and a little abrupt at times. The storyline was mediocre at best. BUT I was trying out a new genre just to see, so it wasn’t terrible, just wasn’t for me.

The Messiah would never disdain to be God’s servant, nor would the angels who are closest. He will summon anyone to Him who disdains to worship him and acts too proud for it. As for those who believe and perform honorable deeds, He will pay them their earnings and add even more for them out of his bounty. He will punish those who act scornful and proud with painful torment; they will not find any sponsor for themselves nor any supporter besides God.

I think I enjoyed this one a little more than the last mafia story. We still have a bad boy and he falls for a good girl and he works to get out. We also have other crime families coming after him and an evil ex that just won’t go away. It comes to a very close almost-ending but leaves us wrapped up with a nice HEA.

I really did enjoy this book. I didn't find it as enjoyable as the first, but it was still a good book. Some of the connection seemed only sexual at first so there was a little bit of lack of the build of affection other than possession and lust. That could have been the point though since the title is Mine. It was still a good book though.

I loved this book. Much better than book 2. The story of angry mobster and girl who feel like she has nothing. Insta-connection, pregnant super fast. Who's the daddy? Will he escape conviction? Will they be happy? All answers that will be answered. But the question I will answer, is it spicy? Yes, their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Good balance of sex, mafia drama, and happiness.
