Heading into their third year at university, Esther, Daisy, and Susan are living apart from each other for the first time, and it’s definitely going to be absolutely fine and not weird at all.
The summary isn't quite accurate. We're wrapping up the year and moving out, but the main focus was on Daisy and Ingrid's relationship, as well as the latter's decision in the previous issue to end things.
Very well done and it was great to see how the trio comes together even at a time when everything is supposed to change. Emotionally, it all hit the right notes and being so long in Daisy's POV helped. There's a wonderful final panel scene of that arc, of Daisy, that could easily be a wallpaper!
I am so in love with this series and the team did it again! Daisy really stole the bulk of this issue and considering how the last few issues ended, this issue was the cummulation of that as Daisy finally stood up for herself. I have been waiting for that to happen so I for one, am really glad to finally have gotten to read it.
FINALLY! GOODBYE INGRID! May you never darken Daisy's door again. And if you've fucked things up between Daisy and her grandmother, I don't care if you're fictional, I will come to Germany and mess you up!

We Have To Talk About Ingrid.. I feel that Giant Days has been a bit shitty to Ingrid. I get the feeling that the comic thinks it has shown us conclusively that Ingrid is unfathomably annoying, and a bad person for Daisy, but it has never really convinced me of that. Ingrid comes across as a jumble of stereotypical German traits, who never gets anything to do storywise, and then is dropped. Nein nein nein!!
The second year is honestly the year that's in the fullest force to me out of the Giant Days series-- since we have the characters established, it starts a lot faster, and we get the McGraw-Susan drama, the Daisy-Ingrid drama, Esther and a whole set of characters, not to mention the house the girls all live in together, which is a character onto itself. Some of the series' fondest moments are in issues 19-36 and the cast really hits their stride together here. (Well, arguably I'd say they hit it earlier, maybe around the camping trip, but from there on out it just works? Maybe even earlier than that?) Anyways, just a lovely, enjoyable set of comics with a lot of spunk.
I never liked Ingrid and I am glad they are over. The end was unbelievable. I am not sure if Ingrid did it on purpose but if she did: What a shitty thing to do to another person let alone someone you supposedly love/d.
I know this was an issue well done because I am FUMING at the end of it. This series has really stuck with me and it's starting to take up every small break I have. I can't wait to see what next year brings for the girls with all this change in the air. Like most people, I'm counting down the days to the last appearance of Ingrid!
I love the binder on an extra Daisy passes in the street--yay representation in comics!! I also love Ester's box of "tutus/muumuus" and the giddy construction day dreams of McGraw and Susan's dad. Basically, this was everything I love about Giant Days.
