Peter Hancock is all bad boy punk rocker, and not looking to change. He and his brothers have been playing together in their openly gay punk-metal band since high school. They may not fill up arenas, but in the rowdy bars that will have them, they can get the mosh pit jumping. After the shows, he has no trouble finding someone to take home to burn off his excess energy and frustration. Peter has it all. Family, friends, parties, and plenty of sex. Okay, if he could change one thing, he’d find someone who wasn’t a jerk to spend his evenings with. Otis Ward has sacrificed everything to reach this moment. He quit his job, spent the hours practicing, and even kept himself so firmly in the closet even his band and family don't know he’s gay. But it's all about to pay off. His alternative rock band has a big contract with a great label, and they're about to hit the road for the tour that will launch them to the top of the charts. Love can come later. When Peter and Otis meet, the attraction is immediate and explosive. Unfortunately, Otis was just hoping to add him to his own band before they hit the road. Now that he's seen how great things can be, how will he keep his hands off of Peter during the trip? Or maybe more importantly, how will he keep their relationship secret? With Your Rock Out is a steamy, standalone gay romance novel with no cliffhangers.
I have loved every book I have read by Zach Jenkins, and each time I read a new one, I think that it is the best yet. This is set in the world of rock music, and the acceptance of being gay. Peter, who is out and proud, is part of a band with his brothers. Then, he meets Otis, who is also in a band that is going on a big tour, but he wants to remain in that closet, because he is scared that if people find out he is gay, then his dream of being a rock star will fail. It does not matter what type of relationship you are in, no one wants to be someone's secret. First, this is a great story, that I did not want to put down. Also, the author did a great job developing the characters, so that we feel like we really know them. Last, but by no means least, this book is steamy hot. Yes, I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy.
Hot men, music, dreams and finding yourself make for delicious read. Well written, great pacing and an engaging story-line create the foundation for a terrific story. Add to the mix some great characters falling in love and you have a story that is so worth the reading!
Learning how to love each other is life changing for these guys. Peter and Otis are both well drawn characters that are lovable and burrow into your heart. i understood both of their internal conflicts and am so glad they found their HEA.
i also loved some of the supporting characters like Otis's sister and Peter's brothers. There were several characters, including JJ that i would love to know more about, hope that we will get more of their story down the road.
Great story that doesn’t revolve around sex but love, pride and pure male stubbornness. Otis is closeted lead single looking for a new flavor of music to add to his band and he found it in Peter. Peter is lead singer and guitar player in his band with his two other brothers Richard and Willie, but all three are all out and proud to be gay even sings about it. One quickie backstage lead Peter to turn his back on his job, band and brothers and follow Otis in his band. Prides get mixed up with tour traveling, hearts get broken and truths will finally be outed
3.5☆ This book was interesting, the two main characters had some similarities but were also different in many ways, and it was those differences that caused problems for Otis and Peter. They had chemistry, passion for music, and steamy sexy times and after a serious bump, they got their love and HEA. I found parts of this book dragged while others needed more details.
Hot musicians and a closet case. A beautifully written story. Peter and Otis are as different from each other as can be, but they somehow click the first time they meet. I love how they are both willing to step out of their comfort a bit more every time to avoid losing the other. And the way their relationship makes Otis strong enough to overcome his insecurities.
Zach knocked another book out of the ball park with this sweet book. I expected more angst but I wasn't disappointed it wasn't there. I absolutely loved this book and will be rereading it in the future over and over. Highly recommended.
