About the author

Martin Handford, the man behind the mind-boggling Waldo books, began his career as a freelance illustrator specializing in drawing crowd scenes. The turning point came when he was asked to create a book showcasing his impressive talent, and the character Waldo was born—originally to provide a link between each scene. "I can't tell you how pleased I am that Waldo has taken on a life of his own," Martin Handford says. "I'd like to inspire children to open their minds to explore subjects more, to be aware of what's going on around them. I'd like them to see wonder in places that may not have occurred to them." Martin Handford lives in England.

Waldo is timeless! As a matter of fact, my 17 year old son and I just went to a bookstore and when I finally found him, sprawled on the floor in a corner, he was searching for Waldo! I love the gimmick for this new Where's Waldo; it adds a innovative challenge to the quest. This book requires a lot of patience but I just could not give up until I had found every Waldo, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard and Odlaw and the truly mind boggling “one character in each scene that is carrying a flashlight.” A must have for every Waldo fan, young and old!

This book would make a perfect gift for the holidays and every day. It offers not only hours, but years of entertainment.

This book is a great addition to the "Where's Waldo" saga. The spotlight searcher is fun to use and kids and adults will enjoy every page. The best part is the book is designed to be used even if the included "wand" is lost - just use any white paper!
